Daily Gut: The Dots Connect Upward to Obama
by Greg GutfeldSo as the underpants bomber is about to get arraigned, a new Rasmussen Poll reveals that nearly 60 percent favor ethnic profiling for airline security. This, on the heels of President Obama finally accepting responsibility for the major F-up on Christmas Day. Our Prez admitted that the “buck” stopped with him, and he’s right: it was his fault. Completely. And he deserves the full heaping pile of blame that comes with it.

Remember, during the 2008 campaign, he rarely mentioned terror – because “change” meant so much more than safety. And it was then that Obama revealed two major blind spots: one that missed the greatest threat to America in recent times, and another that missed the biggest threat to his own presidency. See, any idiot – and I mean myself, specifically – could have told him that even if health care reform or global warming rank as priorities in your life, they all slide off the front pages once a terror attack takes place. Your concerns become piffle when a plane goes down.
And this grave error in prioritization didn’t just mar the candidate: the attitude trickled down to every single hire – including a Homeland Security Chief who disdained the word “terror,” and who only now is beginning to see how determined al qaeda is in ending our lives. But in the end, it was Obama himself who created an atmosphere that one might describe as “Arrogant Lax,” so it’s no surprise it wasn’t just the underwear bomber caught with his pants down.

I suppose they could profile on the basis of unusually large crotches. There are many volunteers in San Francisco available for that job.
And before anyone asks, I'm not one of those volunteers.
They thought they’d elected a saint
took comfort that George Bush, he ain’t
he built mountains of debt
he’s not even done yet
and now a clown with bomb glued to his taint
But, but….Keith Olbernut said the Republicans were probably behind the panty bomber in order to discredit BHO and his admin. And, and lil' Chrissy Matthews said that a loss of a couple hundred people would be no big deal to the Republicans, because that's how they operate.I told those guys not to put their heads in the microwave while wearing tin-foil hats. Left-wing nutbag, anyone?……;-) Hanzo
The longer this goes on, the sooner Obama will have to admit that Bush's foreign policy stance was the correct one.
Wasn't that Mike Malloy? I know it's hard to keep the left-wing crazies distinct in your mind, but Olbermann's a millionaire. Dumb as he is, he wouldn't put his job in danger for something that inflammatory.
Gutfield, you are RIGHT AGAIN!
The Sheeple elected their leader BAAA-rack and he is doing EXACTLY what you and I expected he would do.
Unfortunately it kinda sux to be right about all this because it means America is linda up sh!t creek without a paddle…
Regardless, keep up the good work!
And more hot Conservative babes on Red Eye please.
I don't think Obambi can make a hard pivot to become an anti-terror hawk even if he really wanted to. Barry's pin-head progressive base has totally guzzled down the Michael Moore 'terrorism is not a threat' narrative. They won't stand for their President actually grow a set of nads and start kicking some al-Qaeda ass.
So when it comes to fighting terrorism, we're basically on our own until we can unelect St. Barry in 2012. Until then, don't do anything crazy like get on a plane or do any shopping in a mall or board a train or go to see a sporting event more important than a high school chess match. Because there is almost no scenario that I can see that would make the President take the terrorist threat seriously.
Victor Davis Hanson wrote an excellent article on 'the message filtering down' for National Review:

I heard on Rush today that this tighty whitey guy was BUSH'S fault.
Actually, it was Olbernut. I heard the other comments on S.Hannity's radio program today, but now I'm thinking maybe it was Molloy and not Matthews, not positive and wouldn't put it past Chrissy> Has he blown a gasket since he's been on MSNBC or what ?…..;-) Hanzo

Unfortunately, thwarted acts of terror mean nothing to the average liberal. Sad but true. They will not REALLY believe in the threat posed by Radical Islam until the next 9/11.
Nice recovery!
That was great Greg, but you know we mustn’t criticize everything, the world is subjective, I say Islamo-Goon, you say man caused disaster. Connecting dots is judgmental – - we must reach out and understand other cultures…yak!
LH: Thanks. I've been told I have a very fine grasp of the obvious, but have a tendency to be a little slow in catching my own obvious invitations to walk through the door I just opened.
Greg, good thoughts on this, below is my humorous take on this situation.
Keep up the great work both here and on Red Eye.
This attack hit me hard, as there are three things that bring this very close to home.
First, I also wear underpants most days, although I wear boxers, (not the girly briefs he had on) except on the rare days when "commando" feels right.
Second, I have flown Northwest many times, even in and out of Detroit.
Third, and almost most important, I have a connection to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallabs family, as I have been corresponding with his Uncle for some time, and even he warned me about his nephew, which shows that his father was not the only one in the family concerned with young Umar. I will copy some of our correspondence below for verification.
From the Reverend Dr. Farouk Umar Mahrus Abdulmutallab to Clint Maxwell
Dear Mr. Maxwell, I found your name on a list of persons who had contributed to charity for woman and orphan, so I know your heart is good and that you love God. It is for this reason that I contact you, as I was before a minister in the finances of my country, and it has come to my attention that a large account had been left abandoned which if not claimed, will revert to the use of our president, and he is a man who does not love God, and will do no good with this fund. I wish that you will assist me in a claim on this funds, as it was in the name of Maxwell at deposit, so that between us we can see that these funds are put to good use. Please contact me if you find it in your heart to assist me in keeping this money to do good, and that we both may also prosper.
Thank you, Reverend Dr. Farouk Umar Mahrus Abdulmutallab
From Clint Maxwell to Reverend Dr. Farouk Umar Mahrus Abdulmutallab
Mr. Abdulmutallab, Yes, I have a soft spot in my heart for widows and orphans, but am not sure how I can help you. Please let me know. Clint
From the Reverend Dr. Farouk Umar Mahrus Abdulmutallab to Clint Maxwell
Mr. Clint Maxwell, May God bless you for wanting to help the widows and orphans, I will send another message soon with what you need to do so that we may do good with these funds, but first, I have a nephew, a Mr. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, and I have been told that he is contacting many people in your country so that they may help him gain access to this money. If you hear from him, please do not respond or help him in any way, as he is not like us and does not want to do good with this money. He does not have a good heart, and would only do evil with the money, and would not allow for you to help orphans. So again, I will contact you again for how we may do good with this money. In my next communication, I will give you all the details that we need. May God bless you, Reverend Dr. Farouk Umar Mahrus Abdulmutallab
Hopefully Obama and the rest of the crack team headed by Janet Incompetano can stop the next attack before the terrorist is on the plane, otherwise, we are left hoping that again there is a Dutch filmmaker on board, and that terrorists keep buying their detonation cords from the ACME Co.
~ " so it’s no surprise it wasn’t just the underwear bomber caught with his pants down. " ~
Oh thanks Greg – now, like a bad tune, I'm struggling to keep thoughts of liberals with their pants down out of my head.

And thus, we have the "most transparent administration EVAH" – because being nude is about as "transparent" as one can get (of course, counting those new-fangled airport body scanners).
I am pretty sure Andrew Sullivan would be great at that job. He and Anderson Cooper could each have a shift, thus still allowing them time to blog/do tv programs/twitter, about their various escapades. If we tell them if's a special favor for Obama, we wouldnt even have to pay them.

Yes
Imagine you too can stop Terrorism er .. sorry .. manmade disaterism .. just by sharing your social security number with the needy in northern Africa.
Not really. Bush's foreign policy stance was obviously incorrect. Two pieces of evidence: Taliban John is still wasting space above ground; Selected parts of Afghanistan do not glow in the dark.
is there really anything interesting going on in this blog post or the comments besides: "Yep. His fault. 100%"?
yawn.
I find Obama's characterization of the failure and the challenges it represents as pretty interesting stuff. I look forward to see how we improve from here.
T_Rav: And I thank you for that. LOL
Indi: I could say you have a point, but I think that's a double entendre too. I'd better get out of here before I lose any more ground.
Remember that scene in "Airplane" where a Che-like figure goes through a metal detector without question with a machine gun in his arm, a bandoleer across his chest and grenades on his belt, while a granny is immediately tackled once she sets off the metal detector?
I think this is what it's coming to.
You're correct about the comments that I attributed to Matthews, just saw Molloy on another site stating that 200-300 people dying on the flight would play into the Republicans plans. Olbernut actually did allude to the possibility also, not coming right out to accuse Republicans, as did Molloy…….Thanks, Hanzo
Sorry to hear that.
Thank God for our heroes; its always a sad day when we lose one.
It's becoming appallingly clear that Obama's positions during the campaign weren't cynical pandering to the liberal moonbats — he really believes that terrorism is something "created" by Bush (for all I know BHO is a Truther) and that having a cool black guy who bows and apologizes a lot would solve everything. He actually thought that would work.
And now that it doesn't, he's starting to realize how far from shore he is, how deep the ocean is, and how he should have taken a swimming class at Harvard.
Never happen. OBOZO will cut taxes and kill healthcare before he admits that Bush wasn't the cause of all evil in the last oh, say the last 100,000 years
AMEN! Tell it Brutha!
You are most likely correct JimBob, but the truth will be self evident in his future decisions, if not already in his decisions and statement of the few days.
LOL!
If OBOZO was serious, he would had Adulmutallab sent to Gitmo. If OBOZO was serious, he would fire Janet Incompetano and Bergen what's name. He could then say to all and sundry "They are fired for incompetence. If you want to keep working on the taxpayer's dollar STOP THIS SHIT." But he won't because the sacrifice of a few thousand taxpayers to create the glorious one world government is a small price to pay for Marxist-Leninist Heaven. Yer still a troll.
Profile???… I got their profile hangin'…
I actually think BHO is a "Denier", of Islamic terrorism.
They thought they'd elected a "Messiah"
but it seems the guy's just a LIAR-
what's this business with those "Czars",
and now our govt. building cars (?!),
and this jihadi with his CROTCH on fire?!
"it's the altitude" will be the next "the water was really cold".
It seems everything worked as planned, except the bomb didn't go off, Obama continues to be sympathetic to the terrorists of his denied faith, Muslims!!! Has America been infiltrated, I think it would curious to see how Obama would enter and leave the country if he was a common Citizen, I for one think he has lots to hide!!!!!!
right back on the money there, greg. now that barack has been shamed into reading 'the buck stops here' off his teleprompter, we need to hold him to that statement… no more blaming his predecessor for every and any little thing. it's his baby now. that is, unless 'buck stopping' is in the same category as 'transparency' with him.,,just something you say to quiet the unwashed hordes.
ohhhhh huhhhehheh – no. That will never happen. It should though.
Ah, the overinflated ego and underdeveloped abilities. And people are surprised about his greying hair? Actually they are not giving that a lot of talk are they?
Thank you sir.
You know, CgntvDssdnt (what does that mean again? Dissenter from cognition, is it?), if you don't care for the posts here, you don't have to visit the site. Simple as that (though I will give you props for the Bourne Supremacy pic).
Don't you worry. President Barry will get right on it.
Just let him finish his waffle.
Obama took 2008
The Palin pick a lil' bit late
Libtards called him a hero
Repubs thought him a Big Zero
for 2012, Repubs just can't wait
Like Rush said may be a trail Balloon but it would not suprise me if Obama was more upset that his image took a hit rather than be concerned about our security.
Obama STOLE 2008-
are you forgetting A.C.O.R.N.-"gate"?!
Libtards think he's a "God"
Repubs KNOW he's a slob
2012 will seal his Fate
"Law Enforcement" enables the lying swill. Thank them if you wish. I curse them every day for what they've done to this country, and thank God every time he removes another of them from office.
I hate to say, " I told you so " as well. But, at least what I hoped would come of this is happening. The castle dwelling sheep are finally beginning to see how deeply the hatred runs with these people!
Do you really think that stimulus money ggoing to prisons and false zip codes is an accident?

I'm sorry to say that even then, they will STILL blame it on GWB and the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. I'd bet money on it.
Last time I checked, Victor Davis Hanson always writes something worthy of reading…
Thanks for the link.
As an aside, one of my HS classmates was killed in A-Stan with the CIA bombing. He had 27 years in the Army, & retired less than 2 years ago. He was still in the fight. Now he is on duty in Heaven.
The President is going to get tough! From now on, they're not just going to take your shampoo, they'll take your comb as well. Try to get on board with a pocket knife? Well, we'll not only conficate that, we'll take your belt and shoe laces, too!
And you know, that Christmas bomb was covered with clothing.
Government mandated nude flights will be the hard line of the administration that will end 'man (or womyn) caused disasters' for good!
Isn't everything, though?
So Greg if I take your meaning correctly the underwear bomber's bomb of choice was centered around an
"Arrogant Ladxative".
Hmmmm…… Methinks I'd rather have the old fashion C4 explosive.
Bill Shultz on a Star Trek episode he's a tribble
You know LawhawkSF one could tale the word "profiled" in the context of your statement as a double entendre.
Did you hear that guy on "Meltdown" who stated that it was the belief of the White House that this clusterphuck was allowed to happen by certain members of the intelligence community to make Obambi look bad? Can't remember his name. He's a brit who has written a book about Obambi and has another in the pipeline. Anyhoo, he was back on MSNBC an hour later retracting his statement saying that they were about 10 steps in front of the White House on this. Does the name Richard Clark(e) ring a bell?
No, its Richard Wolffe. Transcript and video is available at Rush Limbaugh's site.
Did anyone notice that one of the Enhanced security measures was to have intelligence agencies "follow-up on intelligence and leads"? Uhhhh…I'm pretty sure that was part of the plan in the First place – why the hell have they been collecting intelligence if No One was following though checking it out?
And what's the deal with Mr. Buck saying "MY Nat'l Security Advisor", "MY Secretary" of such and such – is he paying their salary? This sounded so strange – and this "I won't tolerate it" bit…I could picture HIS security team sitting around a table saying "Yes Daddy". He just doesn't get it – he thinks there all there just to make him look good.
"I find Obamas characterization of the failure and the challenges it represents as pretty interesting stuff. I look forward to see how we improve from here"> Really?? Really?? You're joking, right?? I agree with the Dssdnt part of your avatar, the Cgntv part, not so much.
Hey, I've learned my lesson.
(Note to self: never accuse LawHawk of devious acts involving crotches, underwear, etc.)
He (Anderson) does seem to have an interest in teabagging, a term I still don't fully understand and will thank everyone here not to explain to me. My mind's defiled enough as it is.
Oblabla all weed up, again. I was bored on Jan. 20 when BO was immaculated. I want a BO-free zone.
The Islamowackjobs are psychiatric to be sure but not stupid. Contrary to the propaganda's media anthem, these men are not impoverished, uneducated miserables looking to strike out at a world that deprived them of the barest necessities, they are educated (usually engineers), from families that are well off, but religious fanatics. Since they are smart and educated (do YOU know how to build a bomb and not blow yourself to kingdom come? Do you think little Abdul living in a hovel in Gaza or Somalia has the wherewithal to build one?) they are capable of reason. The last Democrat we had in the WH allowed US Interests to be attacked every 18 months (World Trade 1, Khobar Towers, African Embassies and the Cole) and didn't do much except talk. Why should they think THIS Democrat would be any different? Furthermore, the new president's father was Muslim and while I doubt the Islamowackjobs give a rip whether he was born in Kenya or Hawaii, they kinda suspect with all his Bushwacking and America bashing that he just might sympathize with them. So why not blow stuff up? What's the penalty? Does anyone REALLY THINK Obama will take more action that Bill Clinton did? Come on. Just like he said two thousand times and is still saying. "I'm not George Bush." Damned right, he's not. if he were, we'd be a lot safer.
Hey! I bet the TSA has a new security question for their agents! "Is that a bomb in your briefs or are you just glad to see me?" Yuk-Yuk-Yuk!
I expected the left's blaming of the system put in place by Bush/Cheney – an all too familiar tactic of the this delusional, irresponsible administration and their worshiping media minions. But, it's lame and Americans know it. This is like a father bequeathing his son with an efficient safety machine to carry on the family business. The son keeps it in place but basically ignores it. He does not maintain it, preferring to spend his money on nuisance advertising. He even criticizes the machine and often questions its necessity altogether. So, the safety machine becomes sluggish and breaks down, creating a dangerous working environment. The son, not wishing to be held accountable, blames the father for creating the machine, and returns to the golf course.
As a non-american I find the gloating tone of many of the comments here really worrying. There's a definite sense of "Yes, at last there's been a(n attempted) terrorist attack on Obama's watch – now we can blame him for terrorism too". Never mind that the biggest terrorist attacks happened on Bush's watch, never mind that the evidence is that there was a failure within the intelligence community to 'join the dots' and prevent that one too. Both presidents were let down by their intelligence agencies, at least Barack Obama has been honest enough to admit it. I don't believe that the political leaning of the president has any bearing on the terrorists attitude – no matter how different Obama and Bush seem to you guys, to radical Islamists they both just look like decadent westerners, it's just that an aggressive foreign policy gives them more right to play the "I told you so – the USA hate all muslims" card.

It appears the Democrats want it both ways. Using this line of thinking, who had more to gain from the death of 3000 on 9/11? Which party still burned from a recent loss of the Whitehouse? Which party longed to discredit GWB? Which party jumped right out with a conspiracy theory claiming Bush committed/allowed 9/11 to happen? So who gained from the loss on 9/11? Which party prefers the Chicago thug style of business? New York had a Republican mayor, a Republican govenor and all could be damaged in one swoop. 3000 dead? Would Democrats care? Not with what they had to gain.
Right after 9.11.2001, most of the government bureaucracy's talking heads were telling the mesmerized microphones of the Mainstream Media that "our world changed forever." Few to no Americans acted like it. We all went on with our merry lives, and only those families who actually lost someone in the twin towers, or had a relative serving in the ALL VOLUNTEER military (read: those who didn't, in Dick Cheney's words, have "something better to do") really noticed a difference. The truth is, an occasional terror bombing makes headlines, and provides the blogosphere a football to kick around, not to mention those in the immediate vicinity die, but life goes on, and the 300 million minus a few hundred or a few thousand people who are left really do need jobs, medical coverage, and all that mundane stuff our president has been dealing with.
Not much was missed catching this particularly would-be bomber EXCEPT for half a dozen intelligence departments putting two and two together. We all know that government departments operate as they do, almost completely oblivious to whoever may happen to be president, what party he is from, who controls congress, or who is sitting on the Supreme Court. What is needed now is fairly minor: get the names of people who obviously are a real hazard onto lists to be given a thorough body search before letting them on a plane. That would have exposed the detonator on his leg, which would have led to the explosives in his underwear. Our president can handle that. Whether the intelligence community can, we'll find out. Ethnic profiling? Yeah, that would have caught Richard Reid right away.
didnt BHO look like he had just swallowed a spoonful of castor oil (does that date me?) before he uttered the buck stops with me …
Recovery, or disclaimer?

Do you know what Cognitive Dissonance is?
read this:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?stor...
"Intelligence officials tell NPR that in 2009, the Obama administration killed more senior al-Qaida leaders in drone attacks in the border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan than the Bush administration did in the three years prior. And officials say this has had a telling impact on how the group is communicating, raising money and planning operations — it's having trouble doing all three."
So how is that for "serious"?
Hmmm…a term that does not have the letter t or more than one d in the second word?
