by Greg GutfeldSo, Osama bin Laden must be giggling like a school girl in his soiled diapers. While we flounder over the basics of terror prevention, my guess is the turbaned turd has already moved on, thinking it’s hilarious we’re still taking baby steps against bombers. Turning B.V.D’s into I.E.D’s? That’s sooo last decade. If anything, radical Islam has already set their sights on far bigger fish – why kill a thousand, when you can kill hundreds of thousands? And even if it takes them another decade or two to get nukes – no matter. They’ve got an eternity. Meanwhile, I hung up on Time Warner Cable after being put on hold for five minutes.
Worse, how can our government acknowledge a larger, more apocalyptic threat, when they’re troubled acknowledging the current, manageable one?
Look at Flight 253. By ignoring basic principles of profiling, they let the guy through. And when he was caught, rather than call him a wartime combatant, he’s referred to as a lone extremist. And now he’s being lawyered up, to be tried as a basic criminal.
Which, in a sense, rewards Mr. Exploding Underpants for making it this far. Think about it – getting caught, and then entering our justice system has to be the greatest thing that ever happened to this dope. Here’s a guy starved for attention, looking for a noble purpose – and it lands right in his groin. He’ll be listened to, coddled, and bargained with. Suddenly, because he has knowledge that we so desperately need – and a lawyer to protect that knowledge – the punk has more power than anyone alive. This has got to be one of those teachable moments for terrorists.
Too bad it’s not one for our President. He reacted faster to his buddy’s surfboard injury, than to the attack. And then, during his last weekly address, he linked the attempted bombing to Yemen’s “crushing poverty.” You see why Osama laughs. If America cannot grapple with a simple airplane attack, imagine how incompetent it will be preventing something far more devastating.
I’d move to Canada, but they won’t have me.

Well, the only comment I can have, since I agree with your post, Greg, is they have a waiting list
in Canada that began when Pres. Bush won and all these Movie Sta…actors said they were

I was going to post a joke about the image used in this post, but considering the topic and the administration's response, I don't think it appropriate at all.
But had I actually had told the joke, it would have concerned the morning after Greg had a chipolata eating contest.
C'mon Greg — Get real. The Obamatons were on vacation. Do you think our cool pres would lower himself to waste his precious vacation time dealing with a guy with a bomb in his drawers? After all, he's exhausted from having spent precious hours in DC. (Has anyone added up the hours this guy has been either out of the country, on his way out of the country or on his way back in — i.e. air time). Hell, he spends more time on AF 1 than the average commuter spends in his car going and coming from work. Let's see — Egypt, Turkey, Africa, London, Dopenhagen – (actually that was a typo, but it seemed to fit, so…) Paris, Germany (or was that before he got elected? Has he been back?), Hawaii (x 2 that I know of). Is anyone keeping count of the air miles this guy is chalking up? The hotel credits? He's probably been out of DC more hours than he's been IN DC. Besides, didn't Janet tell us the system worked? We elected a pig in a poke and so now we're surprised that it oinks?
You see why Osama laughs. If America cannot grapple with a simple airplane attack, imagine how incompetent it will be preventing something far more devastating.
I don't have to imagine…witness the election of the unholy trinity composed of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. And these are just the leaders. Unless changes are made, in the long run, the socialists/facists of the left will be much more devastating than a terrorist attack.
I think you give the Obama team too much credit.
There is a difference between thinking he's too cool to deal with this stuff, and simply accepting that American casualties from terrorism is a given, so no need to be overly concerned.
In other words, the President might simply believe that a few of us have to be sacrificed in order to fulfill his greater agenda.

Indeed, the Panty-Bomber now gets his celebrity status. In a consolation prize Hindsight (pun very much intended), I'm sure there are many in max just waiting to get into his panties.
Don't forget–it was twice to Copenhagen–once to persuade the world that the Olympics should be in Chicago and again to accept his Nobel Peace Prize. In addition to his international jet-setting, let's not forget how many times he has bolted out of town to talk up health care, sending troops to Afghanistan, and jobs as if he were still on the campaign trail. Imagine if the administration spent as much time on the problems themselves as they do on where it would best for the president to make his speech! Although considering what "solutions" they might come up with, maybe it's for the best that they get bogged down in the details.
I actually had a twinge of happiness when I heard Obama had bombed Yemen but then this crap happens.

That, in a nut shell, is the Obama Administration's reaction to this incident.

I was being facetious, Ed. I don't think Obama is cool but he sure thinks he is. Actually, I think he's probably pretty irked that he had to deal with this silliness during his vacation. That same attitude showed in his initial response — not all that different really than the Fort Hood attacks — it's like, "who cares if a few of the little people get shot or blown up?"

I suspect the president is conflicted. While I do not believe he is a Muslim, I do think he is sympathetic to Muslims. How could he not be? His father was a Muslim and his mother was a nothing. Something beats nothing every day.
So far he has shown no capacity for caring what happens to everyday Americans whether they're soldiers in Fort Hood or passengers in a jet over Detroit. I suspect he thinks, "since the jet didn't blow up, what's the problem?" That is if he thinks anything at all beyond his own self aggrandizement. I suspect, however, if some Muslim wacko decided to endanger the Sidwell Friends school in DC and he thought HIS get were endangered, then the world would see a shock and awe unleashed that would make Baghdad look like a small fireworks event.
I'd really like to see a listing of all the trips Obama has taken compared to the trips taken by Bush. While I haven't kept track, I'll bet Obama has taken more trips in his first year in office than Bush did in four.

For over a year, Barack Obama campaigned against George Bush for not "getting" OBL. So now he's been president for nearly a year and OBL is still as free as he was under Bush (some think he's been dead all this time). Nary a word about this from the propaganda media, however. Just as they're eerily silent over how many trips he takes and how much golf he plays when everytime Bush went to Crawford, Texas, they landed on him like a brick on a bug. Obama has played more golf in his first year and office than Bush played in his last two, yet the propaganda media say nothing. And they're not biased. No, of course, not.

Don't worry about me suddenly being disillusioned; I stopped expecting anything out of CBS a long time ago. Still, knowing this kind of bull is going to surface doesn't keep one from wanting to throw things at one's television.
What I find funniest (if I can describe it that way) about this is the utter transparency of their efforts to run interference for Obama. I mean, to be frank, I'm rather thick-headed and often have to have other people point out the implications of a certain statement before I can pick up on it. This time around, I didn't need any prompting. This was a pathetic defense so obvious as to be almost laughable. Do members of the media realize they have lost almost all credibility in the past two years of Obama coverage? Or do they just not care anymore?

I didn't really blow my top on this whole issue until yesterday while watching a round-table discussion on CBS' "Face the Nation." Essentially, they were discussing the administration's response to the underpants bomber and what it was doing, and one of the reporters came out with "Well, I don't see that criticisms of the President for not being angry enough about this attack have much validity. He's being very cerebral, very rational, and when he comes up with a plan he will be logical rather than emotional." So, let me get this straight, CBS. Instead of detailing problems in our system, where the administration might have gone wrong, and how to fix it, we're going to spend precious time with a veiled repetition of "Bush is stupid," as compared to how smart and cool Obama (supposedly) is? Well, congratulations, press corps. If there ever is a nuclear attack on this country that causes a million deaths, at least we can look forward to you reassuring each other that it's a good thing Obama is President, because Bush would have attacked some poor, helpless country in retaliation and caused another million deaths. I can't wait.

Yep, that was my point. I noticed this situation with certain people all the way back when I was in high school. I called it 'tip of the finger' disease. Some people stretch their hand out all the way, and where the tip of their finger ends, is the extent of their interest in the rest of the world. It's all about them, always and forever.

Really, you want to make that comparison? Bin Laden evaded Bush for over 6 years, we were hot on his trail when we conquered Afghanistan, we had him cornered and he got away. Bin Laden has evaded Obama for 1 year, at a time he is dug in and protected in another sovereign country of Pakistan.
I don't care if Obama plays more golf than Bush. Does Obama take more vacation time than Bush? Thats a meaningful statistic. Bush set the record afterall. If Obama is on track to beat it, that tells me something. Is he? Go find out. Stop whining and say something useful.

Liberals on the other hand are snarky and snide. Try to be a lady or a gentleman (whichever sex you are) and make your arguments.
So OBL is hunkered down in Pakistan now? Really? How do you know? What intelligence do you have access to that the rest of us do not? How do you know he's not in Iran?
