Daily Gut: Ignore the 9/11 Show Trials
by Greg GutfeldSo, Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for one of the accused terrorists behind 9/11, has announced that the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but “would explain what happened and why they did it.”
So basically, it’s not going to be a trial, but an “Inside the Actor’s Studio” for terrorists. Just yards from where thousands of innocent Americans perished, we’ll all get to understand the motivations that drove these men to do what they did. I mean, since we know they’re not going to deny their guilt– it’ no longer about justice. It’s just about “why, why, why.” We’ll learn exciting things about their childhood, their dreams of martyrdom, and how evil America is. It will be a show trial, without the “trial” part.
God, if only someone could have seen this coming.
Oh, wait…we all saw this coming. The only people who didn’t? Those who let it happen.
There are three reasons for that:
-One, those people are stupid.
-Two. There’s a belief shared by the “why do they hate us” faction of America that we are equally responsible for the terror attack. . If we were just better people – you know: nicer, less successful and less “American” – no one would try to kill us! Replacing Bush with Obama was supposed to help with all that. It didn’t.
-Three, we’ve elected people consumed by the idea of root causes – a pseudo-intellectual exercise that prevents a real understanding of evil actions. Every culprit can tell a story, but by listening to that story, you insult each and every one of his victims. But to abort any argument based on root causes, simply say, “there are plenty of unhappy people who don’t fly planes into buildings.” Of course that’s just too sensible for the best and the brightest.
My solution for this upcoming trial? A nationwide “shaming.” Don’t report, don’t decide. If we all agree to act as if the trial does not exist, then we can at least corral the poison that these people wish to spread. Our government may have given them the soapbox, but we can kick it out from under them.

Lynn Stewart doesn't know the difference between defending a terrorist and helping them execute their plots. It's amazing she's only getting a few months.
Personally, I don't care why they did it… they should all die a death and be buried in such a way that will guarantee their spot in hell. As long as Muslim Jihadist murder innocent people in the name of Allah they will never share my God. And they are not citizens of this country therefore they should not reap the benefits.
Holder et al have been mad with the desire to put Bush and company in the docks for Iraq, rendition and torture. That didn't work out so well since so many prominent Democrats were on board.

BTW, still waiting for that movie that "tells it like it was" for the anti-war movement. Much of the politics and our culture is derived directly from that time, yet nobody has even tried to make a movie out of it.

They're going to put the Bush administration on trial in order to generate evidence for snobby nations around the world to open up judicial inquiries and legal cases against America.
I respectfully disagree, I think we should all pay extremely close attention to this case, at least till it reaches the show trial stage. We all have a very serious stake in this.
We American citizens enjoy certain due process rights in the American judicial system, such as the right to be presumed innocent till found guilty by a jury of our peers.
We have the right to attorneys, we have the right not to incriminate our selves, we have the right to a speedy trial.
If NYC's finest picked up a child pornographer and did the equivalent of what was done to KSM by the military, he'd waltz out of that court room on opening motions.
I'm not concerned about what happens if that occurs. I'm concerned about what happens if it doesn't.
That's legal precedent. A federal judge saying the state can over look all those rights. And if they can do it to KSM, then they can do it to any one of us.

The Obama, Holder Justice Departments judicial logic in dealing with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the rest of that Islamic scum. Reminds me of the old Borscht Belt joke I heard as a kid . It goes something like this. "Your Honor while it's true my client brutally murdered both his parents. We ask the court and the jury for mercy, compassion and leniency in passing sentence. For let us not forget my clients an Orphan". Of Course Obama and Holder haven't got the common sense to be bus-boys in the Borscht Belt much less anything else but you get my drift.

What will be most interesting from these trials is how the biased MSM will report the proceedings. To what extent will the MSM play up the personal stories of these men and their motives for doing what they did, versus the families of the victims of 911 who will assuredly make their presence and anger known? I believe it is the MSM coverage here that will be on trial in the court of public opinion, and they are going to have to walk a very fine line between their anti-American pro-Obama agenda and their Bush Derangement Syndrome.
KSM was guaranteed NOTHING by the US Constitution. He has NO civil rights. He is an enemy in a time of war.
He is now, courtesy of hope and change.
Everyone saw this coming, including those who allowed it to happen, although they didn't allow it to happen so much as they made it happen. While the intent of the show trials is to advance the liberal agenda, it's hard to envision a scenario that benefits the Obama administration and/or the Democratic Party. This decision, combined with previous disastrous decisions, makes me believe that Obama never intended to run for a second term. His plan is to use his personal appeal to force as much of his liberal agenda down the throats of a center-right electorate as he can in four years and then move on to his next project. His commitment to his family, and particularly to his children, will provide the perfect exit strategy.

You're absolutely EdSki. We will have a serious alteration of due process based upon what happens in this trial. That's the only way we will be able to convict KSM, and the repurcussions on the TRUE citizens of this country – will be horrific. The ramifications of this trial will wreak havoc on our justice system… and not for the better of the citizen, but the better of the Goverment and it's power.

POWs and illegal combatants taken during wartime have NO Constitutional protections. This dates back to 1812, and was confirmed again and Again in WWI, WWII, and the Cold War.

These men were not mirandaized and were not afforded due process and held in isolation for years. This will be thrown out with a summary dismissal without ever seeing a trial !! We do have the best justice system in the world FOR US, among other things. We have the best defense lawyers who do their best to get their clients aquitted; especially high-profile cases. Question: how many captured members of the Confederate Army were given a trial in federal court?
So if KSM and all the other non-citizen terrorists are entitled to the full protection of the Constitution, where does that protection end? What is the standard for applying Contitutional rights to non-citizens that have never stepped foot on American soil? If non-citizens who have plotted to commit mass murder of American citizens (and in this case were successful) are entitled to Contitutional rights, what about non-citizens who we have other relationships with? Do the rights of the Constitution therefore apply to every person in the world? If so, then it is our duty as a nation of "rule of law" to make sure that N. Koreans, Iranians, Venezualans, etc. are given due process as well as all the other rights and if need be depose rulers who deny those people the same rights that we have.

Whatever measure is proposed, some liberal pops up and says " Oh, but if we do that we'll be just as bad as the terrorists!" or "Oh, but if we do that it will violate our most deeply held beliefs and then the terrorists will have won!"
It's like the house is burning down but you people want to keep watching TV, eating chips and yelling at the kids because if we actually get off our butts and take action to save ourselves – the fire has won! How many nuclear weapons have we used in wartime since WWII? Right – none. This, to me, proves that doing something repugnant in a war or emergency DOES NOT mean we'll somehow be morally compromised and thereafter unable to stop ourselves from doing it again. Conclusion: There is no slippery slope.
Oh, then it IS a show trial? It's to show "the world" what a great, fair, equally-applied justice system we have…so they won't hate us anymore! And I supposed a mistrial or not guilty verdict would be highly satisfying to some people, since in their eyes we have violated KSM's "civil rights." Wouldn't it be impressive if we actually cried "mea culpa!" and let him go? Wow, maybe he could even sue the U.S. Government in civil court and win billions of dollars! Since KSM wanted to plead guilty and be executed (presumably before Christmas) I find it questionable that Eric Holder would insist on a show trial costing millions of taxpayer dollars because he "didn't want the terrorists to dictate where they would be tried".
Hmmmmm. So if a rapist is willing to plead guilty and face the full penalty, Eric Holder would instead push for a trial, make the rape victim go through the ordeal all over again and risk acquittal? It is the same analogy as the victims and their families from 9/11.
Seems it is time for Eric Holder to step down immediately. But, I'm sure Obama will stick by him 100%. Ah, no sweety, our men and women in our military do not target innocent women and children. In fact many of them had died to make sure that did not happen. I know because I was one of them, and will not stand for anyone calling my brothers and sisters murderers. And, after the fall of Sadam Hussein and his gang of murders, we were not fighting Iraqis. The insurgents were all from other countries under the flag of terrorism. A little fact the many like you love to ignore.
And this war was started on us back in the 70's, only we as a nation refused recognize that we were at war until the attacks on September 11, 2001. It is one that was funded by despots like Hussein and carried out by terrorists from many nations.
