Daily Gut: Letterman’s Jokebag Has Gotten Smaller
by Greg GutfeldSo David Letterman just admitted on his Thursday show that someone had been blackmailing him for $2 million. That someone apparently claimed he had information on the comic doing “creepy things.” Instead of paying up, however, Letterman set him up – and the blackmailer, a CBS producer, was promptly arrested.

Now, a lot of people are laughing at the sweet irony of it all: a comedian who makes millions poking fun at the predilections of politicians gets nailed for a few of his own (I`m dying to know why he won`t dismiss the adjective “creepy;” whatever he was doing must make Marv Albert blush).
But I`m not one of those people.
And before I defend him, let me say that I find Letterman especially dour. I worshipped him in the 1980`s – back when he truly was a gifted, experimental talent. But over time, he`s morphed into a grumpy, partisan ogre.
Here`s my defense: he could have afforded to pay the guy off, and no one would have known. Two million is but a small fraction of his wealth – a marginal price for a rich man to pay to protect oneself from humiliation. But despite knowing that that he`d be called a hypocrite for all those jokes about Clinton, Sanford and everyone else he`s mocked – he went public. He did what every person should do: he followed the law.
For all of you taking special glee in this, ask yourself: what would you have wanted him to do? Pay the guy off, and continue life as a veiled hypocrite – screwing around with staffers while insulting politicians for doing the same thing? No – nailing the extortionist immediately and publicly makes Letterman the butt of his own jokes, and makes it especially difficult for him to make jokes about perversion and infidelity in the future.
That`s fine by me.
Especially when those photos from my vacation in Cabo come to light (I believe I was drugged).

Know how a woman breaks through the glass ceiling on Letterman? She drops her thong and sits on it.
David, just do us all a favor and get off TV. You are not funny, you were never funny. Now you are banging subordinates in a corporation, after this is a perk for leftist pigs who are celebrities. You're boring the ever living hell out of us Dave. Get off the show, go to Malibu and just fade away. Lets see you attack Sarah Palin and her kids now. Your just another leftist loser.
I think about the only thing that Letterman has succeeded in proving is that contrary to the old adage, occasionally there is honor among thieves. Just not too often.
Here's why many people will say, "Meh".
Letterman and his ilk have never held themselves to any kind of moral or behavioral standard so what exactly can they be called out on?
These D-bags have no discernable moral code or ethics so how can we possibly be upset with him for offending our bourgeois morality? Letterman and people like him are amoral narcissists that live for their own pleasure and nothing else.
For somebody worth over $100 million dollars he chose to not pay the extortionist an instead air his dirty laundry on television. He loves his money more than he does his dignity or that of the hapless women he boinked.
This is an instructive moment like Polanski, of the moral compass of our entertainment industry or lack thereof.
Ditto!
Hope that's not true of all of CBS… Katie Couric in a thong… eeeeuuuuuwwwwwwwwww!!!
It sounds like Sarah Palin made the right decision keeping her daughter away from Letterman.
I wonder if these staffers submitted to him under pressure…
Even though extortion is wrong, and this CBS producer should be prosecuted, I can't help but feel schadenfreude wave over me concerning Letterman. He is a nasty man, who may be charged with sexual harassment in the future. I don't think that this story is over, by a long shot. It has only begun to unravel the pathetic persona that has been known to the American viewing public as David Letterman. And to think that I was a big fan of his many years ago when he was on NBC.
Eh… he wasn't that funny in the first place… I don't know what my grandpa thought was funny when he watched him… unless maybe it was his face… I prefered Jay Leno…
Normally I wouldn't pay attention to a story like this, but I have to admit I'm very curious what behavior a creep like David Letterman would consider so creepy that someone would blackmail him over it. It can't just be that he had affairs with women in his employ, or even that he sexually harassed women, or that he was a serial philanderer on his long-time girlfriend – now wife – and probably the girlfriend before her. There must be some really wierd stuff lurking under the surface of THIS story…

Greg-
Just wanted to say that blah-blah-blah whatever you said….
This is one hilarious story. Wonder if we'll be hearing from any of the gals!!!!!
I agree and I think Dave may have put a muzzle on this guy… it'll be interesting if the gets off pretty easily then we'll know there was a lot more dirt here than what he is "admitting" to.
Apparently Letterman's wife has the same self esteem as Hillary. Not much.
Gut – you're right, coming clean is better than paying and it could very well affect his comedy – not make it better, but marginally more honest? We'll see. He's always seemed like an eternal frat boy to me. Not the nice kind, the kind who lock you in the trunk till you pass out kind.
Or his wife at the time for that matter. Not sure if hes married now…
But it's not blackmail-blackmail.
It's still funny. And I'm gonna laugh.

Hurl on deck…..
Thank you Mr. Gutfeld, for taking the high road.
Let's hope this ends him. It surely could.
Long, long ago, Letterman was hilarious. His top 10 lists were a rarity, now they're a crutch.
I haven't watched Letterman in years, and I have no intention of starting now. I'll just fondly remember the great gags, with the knowledge, life moves on.
Penal implant?
My guess is he's keeping his mouth shut to avoid giving the lawyers for the impending law suits more information than necessary.
Because with pockets as deep as he has, the sharks will most certainly begin circling.
Or as Jimmy Buffet puts it "Fins to the left, fins to the right, and you're the only bait in town."
Cheat-cheat. Good one!
In reality he couldn't have paid the guy off. Anybody who watches movies or TV knows that if you pay a blackmailer they keep coming back. Kind of like stray cats.
I don't take glee in his having been extorted, but I do find a bit of amusement in the public revelation of the fact that he's just another scuzzy self-obsessed perv. Seems very common among people of his ideological stripe.
I agree Greg. Back in the 80's , are far as late night tv comedians, he was entertaining. Not so much any more.
But, I do wonder if any of his staffer's were 13 year old male pages? Hhhhhhhhmmmmmmm,………….I wonder.
David Letterman said if he and the women he had sex with choose to talk about it, that would be acceptable, but it wouldn't be right for a third party to talk about their sexual relationship in order to make money. Doesn't Letterman make millions joking and talking about the things other people do? You know, like the time he joked about Sarah Palin's teenage daughter having sex with a certain baseball player.
I see a book and a made for tv movie coming down the pike…
I agree with you. I think he knew it was coming out one way or another. He had no choice except to fess up.
Maybe I'm wrong here, but isn't Letterman a well-known cheapskate? I think his motivation was his "cheapy-ness" myself.
So were there raises or promotions attached to these liasons or just Lettermans charms. I mean if you work there and try and succed on your actual skills and knowledge and some else who works best on their knees gets that promotion isn't that a form of sexual harrasment?
I haven't watched this leftist hachet man in years what a puke.
I used to be a fan of talk shows when I was much, much younger, I'm talking Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin, Phil Donahue (before realized what a douche bag he is), but eventually I realized they're just on their hyping their own careers. Blah, blah, blah.
At that point, I watched strictly for the music and comedy. I have a friend who insists I should record Red Eye and watch it at a sane hour, but then what would be the point of reading the Daily Gut?
I'm tentively looking forward to Jeff Dunham's new show on Comedy Central. I'm skeptical that's he's got enough material to keep a weekly show going. Dave Chapelle did, and so did Colbert (for the most part). Fingers crossed.
It must not be all that weird or he would have paid the money to keep it quiet. Presumably. Maybe it's pretty darned weird but just not two million bucks weird.
Or, applying the Goldberg Standard, maybe it's weird, but not, like, you know, weird weird.
…….:"Let's hope this ends him. It surely could. "
Not hardly
Thats is a lib badge of honour
A Liberal is the only person or group of folks that get kudos for doing the right thing why?
is it that unexpected?
Not if he really got his freak on and it gets out.
But we'll get to Scotland afore 'im, so bugger off ye less than exceptional cup of coffee, ye.
Hm… I never thought about recording Red Eye for a sane hour… I may try that for a while…
Jeff Dunham is getting his own show? Awesome… I hope he does well… he is hilarious… I will have to keep an eye out for him… my advisor presented a paper on Achmed (sp?) at a Conference a couple of years back… describing how the different cultures understand and accept him… It was a Geography thing… Apparently people in Turkey find him just as funny as we do here…
"Achmed (sp?)"
A….C…..phlegm…
Mr. Letterman says that was no envelope that was a package in his car seat. How much stuff
did this guy have on him? The guy was a producer I assume he knew something about editing.
I would just like to see what may have been on the cutting room floor.
Back when Letterman was funny, in the olden days, his long time companion was Merrill Markoe, a head writer on the show at the time. She was involved with most of the funniest and ground breaking stuff on his show. That very well known relationship ended around 1990. Now if the extortionist was bringing this up, Dave did right by stinging the stupid guy. But if there are a string of women since then to be found out, or in the last five years that he's been with his wife of one year now, that may be a story he doesn't want to be known.
Greg,
You ask the question: "What did you want Dave to do?" and then you offer a choice of either a.) pay off the extortioner or b.) don't pay. The issue is more nuanced. I actually think Letterman acted correctly in involving law enforcement, but I think he blew his addressing the topic, making light of the entire situation and attempting to diminish the repercussions of his actions. By giving us a 10-minute riff-filled recap, he leaves us wondering how this has affected him and his approach to future decisions. Is there no longer a level of solemnity appropriate for discussing a situation that will devastate several involved parties (Dave's wife, kid, wom(e)n involved in the affairs, spouse(s) of the women)?
All Dave's confession (if it can be called that) gives us is the knowledge that Dave is secure in who he is- a victim suffering from the actions of a true creep. Who's the hypocrite?
Although this story is rather unsavory, I have to admit it's the funniest thing associated with David Letterman I've seen in years.
Please don't rub it in. I agree with you on Graig. I believe the same dau he went to get his citizenship
he had to attend the democrat run school for successful talk show hosts. How get your mind right
by turning left. He received an Aplus.
Even though extortion is wrong, and this CBS producer should be prosecuted, I can't help but feel schadenfreude wave over me concerning Letterman.
I agree, it's like a fight between a rat and a snake. You wish they both could lose.
lol… my parents love Nascar and when they asked what did they miss… I tell them "well, (insert their fave driver here) made a left turn, then made another left turn…." To which they tell me "Oh shut up!"
Greg come on, everyone that has ever read anything about Letterman knows he is the biggest tight wad on the planet. The reason he turned the guy in wasn't because he thought Black Mail was wrong or that he felt it was a crime, he simply didn't want to pay the money.
Letterman would rather be humiliated then part with 2 million dollars.
Letterman has morphed into one oft the most loathsome public figures in the country, Let's hope this is the definitive beginning of the end for him.
Jack, you're the best…I've talked to you many times but I disagree here wholeheartedly. At first Letterman was the funniest ever…there was no funnier show than Late Night. However he now is a surly bloated piece of unfunny which he has been for many years.
SQT is right. Dave's a hypocrite but worse is the extortionist, trying to ruin Dave for what wasn't even extramarital sex. It's only amusing point is the context that leftists think workplace sex is akin to rape-rape unless it's by a President they like or a talk show that makes fun of conservatives.
Letterman may have avoided a 2 mil ransom but if his wife is not happy he is
going to be faced with a 50 mil divvy up.
Tho someone who waits 10 or so years to marry the mother of his child probably
was waiting for the prenup to be welded before signing.
In the 'Long Arm of Coincidence' Department: Letterman's current wife was a staffer of his (He he he, he said 'staff').
According to Letterman himself, he and his wife have been dating since February of '86. That's a lot longer than five years. A lot of the cheating would have been during their relationship.
Screw Letterman. Oh I guess they already did.
Agree with Undering that Letterman was funny. When he did the silly things like tossing stuff from a tall building, covering himself in alka seltzer and velcro, coming up with catch phrases to sweep the nation…that was funny stuff.
But he started to repeat himself and then started with the mean partisian attacks.
It happens all the time in the media these days. People with real (perhaps limited) talent try to prove they are substantial by parrotting the current liberal talking points and lose the good will they had earned.
Let's start a top ten list of why Letterman came out with this admission.
10. He was no longer getting a thrill up his worldwide pants.
9. The extortion money was not tax deductible
8. ………………..
help me out here guys
So Greg, is "jokebag" a euphemism?
If any normal supervisor did this in the work place, they'd be charged with sexual harrassment, fired and sued. I hope the women involved have enough guts to come forward and charge this jerk.
Imagine if a conservative was in this predicament……………just imagine the outrage.
We don't have to imagine. Look at the liberals backstopping for Bill Clinton as opposed to any Republican where there is even a suggestion of scandal like Larry Craig and Tom Foley.
The left have different standards depending on who is in trouble. They are, at best, slimy hypocrites, and that's being generous.
Dave is a mean-spirited guy. He seems to enjoy other people's pain and uses anything he wants for a laugh. I have NO sympathy for his situation, although I'm sorry for his wife and child. Even if his acts were consentual, he was wrong to fraternize with subordinates, especially if he married at the time. Sometimes Karma happens sooner than we expect. Time he retires. He really isn't funny, nor is his band leader.
I'll give you those Cabo pictures I took in exchange for Bill.
I agree, but Whoopi will say, "Well, maybe it wasn't sex sex."
You know the next "the View" might have Whoopi announcing that "Dave didn't have sex sex." Hollywood is the broken moral compass of the world…
Yeeeaaah, your right Greg (looking down kicking the dirt). I still don't hafta like him do I?
I never watch Letterman, I watch Conan.
Conan did three months of Mark Sanford jokes. He's never made one joke about ACORN and prostitutes (which stuns me).
Will Conan have the balls to go after Letterman?
The only problem is that he is shameless, and will continue to make the same tired jokes at everyone's expense. He certainly is not the Dave of old, now he's just old Dave.
I predict he will do a Top Ten List about himself to claim he's not a hyprocrite, and use that has an excuse to continue being the same mean-spirited leftish jerk he's always been.
I don't even know how much of the sex was extramarital– though he has said he was with the woman would be his wife since 1996. What really gives me the willies is that I'm pretty sure he's been taking advantage of his position. Maybe the women were consenting adults. Maybe they felt a little pressure. Who knows. But if Letterman himself describes the behavior as "creepy," it can't be good. The extortionist is worse though. You're right about that. It'll be interesting to see how that situation sorts itself out.
Interestingly, 'jokebag' makes for an awesome derogatory comment for Letterman, as in:
Shut up, you tiresome jokebag!
See? It works!
The moral relativists who snicker at the behavior of Letterman or excuse the crime of Polanski reveal their blatant ignorance of right and wrong. If a corporate executive or a Republican politician were guilty of either of these offenses, the same moral relativists would be screaming to high heaven for their scalps. However when a lefty celebrity or a Democrat President, for instance, is guilty of the same offense, it's just no big deal. In fact, it might even be amusing. These morally decrepit souls are simply evil. Not Letterman, Polanski or Clinton, who are just sinners, but the truly evil people are the ones who selectively excuse or condemn wrong-doing based on their own prejudices concerning the perpetrator. That, is true evil.
Let me assure you that Mr. Letterman will have no qualms about attacking Ms. Palin and her family, even after this, and his viewers, his network, and his advertisers will continue to cheer him on for his special talents. The putrid stench is overwhelming.
Letterman’s Jokebag Has Gotten Smaller
However, his douchebag is expanding beyond all expectations.
The point is that he's even a bigger lowlife than we had thought, to hell with how he handles the revelation of tha lowlife behavior.
The point is that he's even a bigger lowlife than we had thought, to hell with how he handles the revelation of his 'creepy' behavior.
When I first heard the story and saw the video I thought it had to be a joke. Well the joles on you Dave. You made your own bed now lie in it. I wish him no ill will but whatever happens he has been greatly diminished in the publics eye. He might still retain some New York Liberal Loyalty but Networks know that they need to sell soap to Middle America to survive. I will be curious to see how this plays out in the next few weeks.
Is anyone else tired of the fact that the left always gets a pass on the hypocrasy issue because they have no values to break? What's worse, really? Someone who has values and ethics and corrupts themselves? Or valueless profligate perverts shamelessly spreading their genetic material around like Caligula?
How nice for his wife to have her husband go on nat'l tv and tell the world that he had been engaging in affairs with multiple women. Nothing like that for humiliation. They have been together 23 yrs, and this is her thanks? What a tool.
One of the ground rules of any business is that you don't sleep with subordinates. Letterman's reckless behavior has exposed CBS and himself to suits for sexual harassment. There has to be at least one staffer who rejected Dave's advances and then didn't get the promotion. Actually it's merely enough that someone he slept with DID get the promotion.
I feel sorry for his mother. She didn't raise him to be a serial fornicator / adulterer. I stopped watching Letterman when the left wing political bias went over the top. Dave Letterman is not only not funny, he isn't worthy to wipe the dust off of Sarah Palin's shoes.
Please, where do you think the 2 Mill did go?
Sorry bro but he has never been funny, ever!
Letterman caught being a sex predator. Hollywood luminaries caught defending a pervert. A 60's music legend caught being a mega-pervert with his daughter. I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of the entertainment industry as we know it.
I can't help but think about his family. What a disaster that home life must be, huh?
Was this a….hole wearing his wedding ring….????
I think it's more like Letterman is a cheapskate. Doing the right thing had little to do with it. Of course Letterman will milk it until he's St. David. He'll look embarrassed, he'll go a little lighter on the bashing. It will all be over in a little while and he will be his old (well put Greg) ogreish self.
Speaking of ogre…what happened to Madonna? Doesn't the body fluid of young latinos work any longer? She's looking old.
Letterman's vile hypocrisy is as unsurprising as Hussein Obama's stunningly hilarious haughty narcissistic failure in Wonderful Wonderful Kopenhagen . His lard arsed wife who is apparently still under judicial directed "voluntary suspension of her law licence" for her part in an insurance fraud in the 1990's hilariously embarrassed her spoiled vapid self absorbed self with her cringe making me me me me speech.
This link below shows the official , utterly convincing Supreme Court Of IL "proof" of Mrs Obama's corrupt legal antics.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_LD_Ah5tLKV8/SnN3-d6opmI...
At least Hussein Obama's venal windy city cronies won't be making millions out of Olympic slum clearing schemes. And we all get to larrrrf and larrrf and larrrf at their crushing abject failure.
How would the alleged extortionist have explained this cheque (if it had been genuine) to his bank and/or the IRS??? Extremely poorly thought out scheme indeed.
Hopefully Letterman will now suffer very serious problems over his self confessed sexual harassment of women under his employment.
I hope comedians go berserk with jokes aimed at letterman. ITs time for payback for this slimeball. Lets hope CBS fires the creep.
So, he was living with one woman for 17 years while having an affair with another girl. The live-in girlfriend gets pregnant, so he dumps the mistress. Classy. At least the affair ended before the kid was born, though. Kids don't ever deserve to be brought into that sort of situation.
This investigation is only now coming to light. Dave better watch out for any potential sexual harassment suits. Methinks there is a lot more to come.
I haven't watched much news today, but from what I have seen so far, the alphabets are portraying Letterman as a victim. All liberals love to play two cards, the victim card, & the race card. No way in Hades is Letterman a victim!!!
OMG, when are we gonna get new eps of South Park?
I suspect Letterman followed the law because the cool 2 mil could eventually expand in to a never ending check book drain.
Robber: Your money or your life.
Jack Benny: (Strums fingers to his face for a while.)
Robber: I said, your money or your life.
Jack Benny: I'm thinking, I'm thinking.
Greg
I disagree with you, (so I'm sure that makes me a racist): You can't make Marv Albert blush. But, force him to take of the hair piece and he might cry.
Letterman's perv behavior explains his wierd horn for Palin. I knew there had to be something.
Question is did he cheat or cheat-cheat?
The ick factor on this is through the roof. He already seemed like an old perv and now we know he is. I don't really buy the whole I didn't pay him off to protect myself thing either. I think he knew this would hang over his head forever and still be revealed at some point. The extortion wouldn't have stopped at $2 million. I'm sure of it. I'm betting that the evidence gathered was pretty bad and Dave was looking to get that suppressed in any fashion possible. What's an on-air confession of infidelity compared to to what is likely to have been far more perverted stuff? The fact that he has the nerve to continue to insult Palin in the face of this just goes to show how little shame he has.
If he attempts one more joke about someone else's similar . . . uh . . . mistake in judgment, then he's a hypocrite. And joking about himself will not alleviate that.
So consider not watching Conan anymore. They all tiptoe around O's flaws.
Like this post.
Letterman = Pot. Kettle. Black.
I don't know Lawhawk
Are the sordid details going to come out. Will the networks "comment" on Letterman's antics. Will we learn 1/10th of the details that we had to learn about say Rush's addicition to Oxycotin developed from his treatment of his hearing.
Will we see any Sexual Harassment suits filed by any of these women. No one's talking about it yet that I have heard…… Hmmmm…………………………
Agree.
If Dave kept his pencil in his pants he would not have been blackmailed. Dave stop pulling your pencil out and playing with the staff.
Honestly, I prefer Craig Fergison… though I know that he is an acquired taste… it's too bad I can never seem to stay up long enough to watch him… :/
I must be too young to know what it was like to laugh at Letterman's jokes.
Letterman's behavior must have made for a charming work environment. Well, it seemed like a great job . . .
Breaking News: A powerful, big-named entertainer is discovered having sex with his subordinates.
More Breaking News: Water is discovered to be wet.
The biggest idiot in this story is the blackmailer. He would have made a whole lot more than $2 million writing a tell-all book and it would have been perfectly legal.
I believe that the woman is Stephanie Birkitt, a one time assistant who is 28 years younger than Dave. I think their relationship ended in 2003 before his son was born, or so they say. Kinda like Edwards stopping his affair when his wife was having chemo. How convenient. Birkitt's ex-boyfriend is the extortionist – apparently found her diaries.
Not to mention his mother. I think they just told her today that her son had "World Wide Pants". And who is the creep? A toss up.
There may well be life after Late Night. Dave could be star of the made for NBC movie – the codger and the coed, or narrate the hypocrisy chronicles on PBS. Or maybe he should have aired his crimes at the Olympic selection meeting in Denmark. Maybe the IOC would have shown compassion.
I second Craig Ferguson. Loved him on Drew Carey. Plus, since he's a relatively new citizen, he actually seems to REALLY LIKE this country. What a novelty, eh?
Please don't rub it in, the age thing.. I agree with you on Craig. I believe the same day he went to get his citizenship he had to attend the democrat run school for successful talk show hosts. How get your mind right by turning left. He received an Aplus.
Letterman hasn't been funny in years. He takes vicious pot shots at people. He must be really upset that Sarah Palin won't sleep with him to go after her like he does. He's truely a sick and twisted individual. Letterman could have avoided all of this by keeping 'lil letterman in his pants. He didn't have to have sex with his staffers. Nobody made him do it. I wouldn't be surprised if a sexual harrassment suit doesn't come from one or more of them. So yes, I'll laugh at this vile person getting what he deserves!
You have to do something worthy of extortion to be extorted. I am not gleeful. More… appreciating the Karma.
I too loved Letterman in the 80's. Now he is just an old turd on toast.
Yup. To assume that this would end Letterman's vicious attacks on Palin requires Letterman to have class. We thought he didn't have any before this revelation. Now, we know that he truly has none.
Will look at this way, now Dave gets to write the book.
I doubt it.. He's famous and rich. That's all it takes sometimes.
Somewhere there are a squad of pinstripe suits with law degrees warming up in the bullpen.
Wait till he gets Dr. Phil on.
Seems it takes a pretty stupid extortionist to think anyone would care about who Letterman has sex with…ewwww…stomach turning…seems Letterman enjoyed telling about it a little too much…my guess is that it's a creepy stunt to goose his ratings.
In Business there is nothing more creepy than the boss using his influence to gain sexual favors from young girls.
I know it happens, but in todays world of business, it has financial consequences.
At a fortune 100 company I to worked for, a case of sexual misconduct between a senior manager and employees working "under" said manager was worth a minimum of $500,000.00 to the employee.
In Daves case it looks like there were several employees he was involved with and because of his fame, the cases could be worth well north of the 500 thousand.
Pay attention girls, this is not extortion, this is the law.
Go girls and get your money, there won't even be a trial.
Just go to the HR Department of CBS, file your claim and pick up your check.
Come on, don't be afraid.
I think he made the right choice. He is already favored by liberals, and this can only boost his ratings.
In answer to the question, "what should he have done?", he should have kept his pants on.
Lets not forget this is the last year of his current contract w/CBS. So, this might be the excuse CBS can use to not renew Davey-Boy's contract. BUt who CBS replace him with, maybe Jack Black ? One knee jerk comic for another ?
You're all a bunch of moralist. Dave stepped up and owned the situation. His joke bag didn't get any smaller. It doesn't make it hard for him to make jokes about this kind of stuff. Letterman is self-deprecating all the time in a certain way. He'll continue to make fun of other old guys that sleep around and cheat. That won't make him a hypocrite. He's not a politician saying one thing and doing the other, he's a comedian. Comedians don't have to live by a code, that is the privilege of the jester.
By your logic, comedians couldn't be drug users, act promiscuously, or ever get arrested because then they wouldn't be able to make jokes about that stuff. Comedians have a long history of bad behavior. Somehow jokes keep coming.
It's not like he did something really bad like drop the f-bomb at 12:55am on a Sunday.
Why does it start from the point we find out he was involved in this?
There is no trial if the plaintiffs ar paid off……
I feel pretty sure whoever this women/these women is/are they will be paid a lot of money for their signature on a non-disclosure contract.
So, become a comedian and be automatically immune to all criticism. I've really got to change jobs. Yeah, Dave owned up to it, and the guy trying to extort him for it was a dirt bag. Still, you'll have to excuse those of us who didn't find him funny for thinking a little less of the guy for sleeping around with subordinates while eviscerating others for similar offenses. I think it's likely we would never have heard of this particular life experience in one of his "self-deprecating" monologues. As to comedians living by a code, I think his critics may be of the opinion that people in general shouldn't sleep around with those under their employ, or abuse drugs, or do something warranting arrest. We apologize if having certain standards offends you.
Is that what they mean by perky?
You have a very good point, and wouldn't be surprised if what you said turns out to be true. I guess we'll wait to see. Stories about work shenangins in high places like this do have a nasty habit of leaking out.
What a degenerate…
polanski, morgan freeman, marrying his step grandaughter, on and on and on…..all the while preaching to the serfs how to get healthcare, pay taxes, spend our money.
The Actors Home for the Aged kicked those folks to the curb, can't even take care of their own…moral compass, hardly…but the saddest part is most americans sign right up for the ride.
[...] And now for some good news [...]
He didn't wear it on that particular episode, but I haven't noticed if he wore it on other nights.
Never let a good crisis go to waste. It's apparent this is being used to help his failed ratings. He learned well from Our Dear Leader. Never has this writer seen two bigger POS's. He has no regard for the ladies involved or their families. He learned that old throw them under the bus trick from Our Dear Messiah.
Tommorow night (this Wednesday) the new season starts up again! BooYAH!
