by Greg GutfeldSo when two scrappy DC journalists bring down a President, it’s turned into “All the President’s Men,” winning accolades and Oscars. When an unemployed single mother of three takes the fight to an energy giant, it becomes a blockbuster vehicle for Julia Robert’s cleavage. And when a former Vice President exposes man’s inhumanity toward Mother Earth – “An Inconvenient Truth” crowns him the most majestic whistle blower ever.
But when two amateur journalists (in their early twenties, poorly dressed as sex workers, with under two grand in their budget) casually take down a sleazy behomoth that leeches off American taxpayers, you’d think Hollywood and the media would be all over this. I mean, what Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe did to Acorn – leading to the House approving to cut off all their funding – is the whistle blowing film to end ALL whistle blowing films. These two kids did what Michael Moore could never come close to accomplishing: uncovering lurid incompetence, affecting policy, and saving Americans millions of dollars.
So where is Clooney? Soderberg? Moore? Shouldn’t Megan Fox be playing Hannah – with Daniel Radcliffe as O’Keefe? When Red Eye makes an appearance, will I be played by Verne Troyer?
Or am I just engaging in fantasy? I mean, movies and fawning media pieces about whistle blowers only work if the media dislikes the targeted entity. Seriously, if ACORN wasn’t a left-wing outfit – but Fox News, how fast would Oliver Stone be slobbering over the script? Hell, he could just make that change in the script anyway, and still call it “historically accurate.” I’m sure none of the critics would mind.
Finally, check out the latest Washington Post article, detailing the ACORN scandal. In it, they focus a bit on Hannah Giles’s dad. Weird, huh? Do you think they would have done the same thing to Woodward or Bernstein? “Screw this Watergate thing! I bet Carl’s dad is a lib!”

Don't count your chickens yet. Acorn may not truly be defunded. We have to wait and see if the amendment to defund the organization makes it into the Senate bill and the Conference Bill. The left could quietly remove it in conference while contending that they still voted for it in the House.

Considering her recent political comments, Megan should probably play the self-aggrandizing lady in the San Bernadino office who claimed she offed her husband. Or one of the teenage Salvadoran hookers in that Tiajuana brothel.
Couldn't you just see it if Hollywood did decide to make this story? "Okay, instead of ACORN, let's make it Halliburton. And instead of child prostitution, let's make it de-frauding the U.S. government. And instead of black workers, let's make it evil white Christian men." This is indeed a story that would make a great whistleblower movie, but it needs to be made by Leigh Scott or someone who would do it "right".
The deafening silence of the media on this. I am so proud of our side for finally fighting back. But the silence of the media is just – terrifying. I keep looking at them and seeing the face of Pastor Niemoller. Folks – I apologize for using this comparision because it's been so badly misused – but, face it, the silence of the media today about racist thugs in ACORN is identical to the silence a few years ago to racist thugs in Brown Shirts. The only question is – will we end up the same? (I'd ask the media but they're not saying anything.)

I saw that same story. Is defunding Acorn "punishing" Acorn? It seems to me that you are just not helping them. I think I remember a defense contractor caught cheating on a government contract and as a result was ineligible for future government contracts. I am no lawyer but that seems pretty much the same situation.

I've never watched a Michael Moore movie (not even in my more, ahem, liberal, days, but from the ads for them I get the impression they are sort of a perverse version of all of Stephen Segal's movies – basically the plot is the same in each of them and Moore is the "hero" of each movie.

To be fair, it takes more courage to make a movie from the right, because the establishment is much more likely to malign you than applaud you. The left likes to think of itself as anti-establishment, but in truth, they have co-opted and BECOME the establishment, and they did it decades ago. And people on the right ARE willing to get up and do something about issues that are important to them.
But the left just mocks them as 'astroturf'. They get caught, a judge sentences them to registering voters for ACORN and the House votes to reverse the defunding. The movie closes w/humerous outtakes from a Bertha Lewis presser as the credits roll.
Sounds like one of the versions of "Law & Order."

The liberal excuse is that they don't want to "judge" anyone. That is unless you are conservative, religious and read the bible (even if it's only occasionally), own guns (even if they were handed down from your father or grandfather), and you are successful because you work hard and pay your taxes, and that you want to raise your own children to believe what you believe in, then the liberals feel they have every right to judge you simply because you are not like them.

The whole idea that cutting off federal spending on anything could constitute a bill of attainder is laughably ludicrous. No one has a "right" to taxpayer dollars. Turning off the money spigot is not criminal prosecution.
