Amen, and the notion that human traffickers are "PC targets" is ludicrous. How many Hollywood types speak out against the sex trade? None that I'm aware. President Bush rightfully spotlighted this atrocity. Lefties, on the other hand, don't ever want the public to start thinking sex is a bad thing unless the word "Catholic" is somehow involved.

Mr. Gutfeld, you need to be careful not to mess with Rambo. That photo you posted of the guy who gets his esophagus removed is proof enough.

Stallone's "twighlight" efforts with Rocky and Rambo have been nothing short of stellar--as much red meat as we'll ever see at the box office.

Actually, there are plenty of people out there who excuse human trafficking as merely "illegal immigration" of "sex workers" or "people finding a better life". There are actually many people who aren't clear about how, if Natalya or Maria or meant to go to Germany and become secretaries, and instead find themselves locked in a brothel getting raped, this is not a good thing. Feminists aren't clear, in many cases, that this is actually oppression of women, much less that it is S L A V E R Y.

Every year, the guy at the State Department with the anti-human trafficking group gives a press conference, rating the world on how bad the modern slavery is. Every year, all sorts of First World countries try to deny it. Every year, tons of diplomats and foreign businessmen get caught with slaves in their houses. I'm sure that, sooner or later, it'll be a US government official with a terrified slave girl or boy, because we just refuse to wake up to how bad things are.

why must everything be of political importance? another thing all of these movies have in common is that they are MOVIES. they are made to entertain. why must we dissect the producers, directors, and actors of these movies and draw them specifically along party lines?

Why would Tarintino decide to use a present day enemy when he wanted to make a fictionalized WWII movie? It seems to make perfect sense to me, choose some nazis to kill.

Please do not forget---movies are made for entertainment. They are made so that we can forget about what is real for a few hours and just relax.

I cant wait to read the next commentary about how the Brawny man is obviously a right-wing conservative who is hell bent against healthcare reform because he wears a damn flannel shirt.

This is in defense of Inglorious Basterds more than the other two, because well, I don't care for Rambo and the G.I. Joe franchise at large.

Yes, there are plenty of modern groups out there that deny the holocaust, and even more others that would love to eradicate the Jewish people as a whole. And again, yes, a film about "those guys who flew planes into the World Trade Center" would certainly be relevant to today's world, but that doesn't lessen the importance of having Nazis be the villains of a movie.

Imagine if Steven Speielberg had been pressured into making a movie about the Iraq-Kuwait war of 1990, rather than his WWII film "Saving Private Ryan". I mean, it was a lot closer in time to when he made the movie, so of course it's more relevant, right? Right?

Just because a movie is based on recent events does not make it a good movie, nor do those events guarantee that the film has anything important to say. Tarantino wrote and directed "Inglorious Basterds" for his own reasons. Yes, one of those was probably money. But that's what he does for a living. While it does offer plenty of gritty in-your-face sequences of Nazi-killing, it also speaks on a multi-generational level that is still relevant to modern society.

I'd love to see a film about the Iraqui war, the World Trade Center bombings, or any other recent events, but only if it actually works as a film, and isn't simply trying to elicit a knee-jerk reaction out of the audience. Sadly, we'll probably have to wait twenty or so years until someone produces a truly great film about these events.

On the Tarantino thing: sorry, but you're an idiot. Tarantino took the title from a World War II movie made in italy in the 1970s- wouldn't that imply he wanted to make a WWII movie from the start? If you're faulting him for not making the movies you want to see- which is pretty much what you're doing with Hollywood in general -then you're selfish AND an idiot. But hey, enjoy your persecution complex!

I love how you slip the real answer in there- Sacred Free-Market Capitalism decrees that you can't sell something to the people you're using as the bad guys -and then ignore it in favor of an embarrassing attempt to be profound. This is the world you wished for: where you could sell anything to anybody. Now, in an attempt to sell Everything to Everybody, you get flavorless swill that doesn't take a hard stance on anything. But it's all the evil liberals' fault, by God!
