Deepak Chopra’s Hatred for America
by Greg GutfeldSo yesterday on the Huffington Post, Deepak Chopra published yet another anti-American screed – this time lamenting the fact that we’re the last remaining superpower. He says the world would be a better place if the US just packed it in as a leader, and to quote Lennon, “give peace a chance!” In it he writes, “America leads the world in arms dealing, starting wars, and developing new methods of mechanized death,” conveniently leaving out all the incidental stuff that comes with being a heavily armed, supercool, superpower. Meaning, saving millions of lives by ending world wars, getting rid of dictators, stopping famine and assorted civil conflicts, and preventing mass disease. Chopra also hilariously vomits that, “Peace is achieved by being peaceful, no matter what the military-industrial complex claims to the contrary.”
Tell that to the Iranian voters, jackass.
Deepak’s destructive dippiness is nothing new. It’s a moral blindness that prevents him from seeing America’s role in fighting evil – a soaring greatness that offers inspiration to folks like the Iranians who seek relief from totalitarian madness. Chopra, oddly, prefers to ignore that, and instead condemns a place whose gullible wealthy and their endless desire for fast food self-fulfillment have made him rich beyond measure.
So why is this chucklehead still taken so seriously? Well, first, he’s multicultural and new age – which gives him a free pass to crap all over stupid “old age” white American establishment. If he had been a white doctor, the media would take his mumbo jumbo about as seriously as they took Jimmy Swaggart. He also caters to the guilt-ridden celebrity looking for validation through dime-deep dogma, and as a shameless self-promoter uses their neediness to generate even more business. If there’s a spotlight – you can bet Chopra is on his way to fill it – even if that spotlight is meant for the dead. Seriously: Michael Jackson’s pulse had barely stopped, and Chopra was already yakking about how often MJ came to him for advice on songwriting.
No wonder the last album sucked.
TONIGHT: the lovely Diana Falzone, the delightful Remi Spencer, the awesome Jim Norton, Oderus Urangus of GWAR, and Carrie Preston from True Blood!

"Peace is achieved by being peaceful…" What a vacuous platitude! I guess, in Deepak's world, Neville Chamberlain is a hero.
One of your best posts, Greg, one of the best. I might have peed a little.
I take Deepak Chopra about as seriously as I take Richard Bach. Or Nancy Pelosi.
Who the heck is Deepak Chopra?
Deepak Slap-Chopra: For Nuts!
What always bothers me about these peace at any costs celebutards, is they always have armed guards to protect them, or own lots of guns.
Screw this clown and the goat he rode in on!
Very funny Greg! If incisive commentary were a chainsaw starter, I'd yank him in the backyard.
I caught Dana Carvey doing his Chopra impression on the Dennis Miller show: "Mr. Chopra, what is pain?" "Pain is the universe's attempt to achieve oneness in the self and to reconcile itself." "What is happiness?" "Happiness is your achieving oneness with the universe, others and yourself."
I thought all of MJ's album sucked…
oops! That would be albums. My bad!
Penn and Teller did a bit on this for BS, where they asked some top-of-the-line hippies what they thought 'world peace' was. The bit from Martin Sheen was classic – something about 'love' and 'joy' and other hippie colors and gases. P&T's response was dead on: the best tool to achieve world peace is capitalism. If people have a purpose, food, and some money in their pockets they tend to be peaceful.
The assumption that all you need for peace is to be peaceful is moronic sophistry. Considering that most late-life hippies are the kids who got beat up in school, you'd think they'd know that.
Giving credence to crackpots like Deepak, Garafalo and Jesse Ventura is about as enlightening as going to the insane asylum and listening intently to the guy who thinks he's an orange.
But But …
George Bush is not POTUS and we have the ONE
How can America lead the world in arms dealing, starting wars, and developing new methods of mechanized death,
Didn't Deepak get the memo ?We are Loved by the Whole World because Hussein Obama is President of the Americas.
/
Is Deepak Chopra some kind of Oprah guy?
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Deepak Choprah a moral relativist? Doesn't he deny moral absolutes?
Then if he denies moral absolutes, then on what grounds does he condemn America?
He says, "America leads the world in arms dealing, starting wars, and developing new methods of mechanized death." …But, excuse me, if there are no moral absolutes, and just for the sake of argument what he is saying is right,… by what standards can he condemn it?
The man is the guru to countless flakes all over the world. I see no reason, coupled with his intellectual laziness, to even begin to consider ANYTHING he says on any level.
But, he should get an appearance on Larry King for this. … Whatever that is worth.
Hey, you shouldn't talk about Chopra's wife like that…………..
When I see this chucklehead (love that word- McQueen used it in Mag. 7) on the Larry King Alive show I can't get to the remote fast enough. There is nothing he likes about America except the airheads who somehow think he's a serious person.
This is the same guy that said America was to blame for the Mumbai attacks last year. He is blinded by his ideology.
Deep Pockets Chopra is a total phony. All the dopey baby boomers in search of instant enlightment spend multi thousands of dollars on his drivel. But then again , they also voted for Obama, Pelosi, the Governator, Boxer. It goes on and on….
Have they ever been seen in public together? Could Chopra be Oprah or Oprah be Chopra?
I wonder how Mr Chopra thinks he would fare in the hands of that well known peace loving group the Taliban. At what point as his head was coming off do you think he might stop spouting his idiotic claptrap and yell for the Marines?
What a piece of garbage was Sixpak Chopra's! No wonder that Madonna and other superenlightened entertainment buffoons pay $ 10k a weekend for retreats at his Institute For Happiness in Carlsbad to absorb wisdom, then further project it over the world.
While I can admire Chopra's fleecing of weak minded celebutards (a small measure of ironic justice), couldn't he do so without spreading foolhardy notions that will, if acted upon in by those in power, only serve to allow evil to conquer? Peace? Hell yes I want peace. What warrior does not prefer such? But peace does not mean sitting back and chanting mantras while the hate and evil of those who want to cover the world in blood and fire are unleashed on a world that is ill prepared to counter it. The world is a much smaller place then it used to be. Darkness happening in the far places of the world will find its way here. If we do nothing, who will step up?
Well, that's really not what he said, is it?
Please, take time to thoughtfully consider someone's views before commenting… but if, in the end, you still want to react in a knee-jerk fashion with the ol' liberal standards, well,… then go right ahead.
It's a shame, but it's your right.

Spoken in Apu from the Simpson's voice…"I'm sooo very soory, I didn't mean to offend anybody…one thousand apologies…"
Caught Deepak a few years back on Dennis Miller's T.V.show. He was talking all "peace and lovey" and how America was too powerful and just needed to stop bullying other countries, and blah, blah, blah….
When Miller (in his good-natured way) dared to challenge Deepak and tried to begin a conversation on what would happen if America just bent over and grabbed it's ankles Mr. Inner Peace went off, he got really angry and started yelling. I swear I thought he was going to take a poke at Dennis. "So much for peace and love," I thought.
It was beautiful.
RE Hutch: "Mr. Chopra, what is pain?" "Pain is the universe's attempt to achieve oneness in the self and to reconcile itself." "What is happiness?" "Happiness is your achieving oneness with the universe, others and yourself."
Hutch, I don't know whether this really was on Miller's show, but it's really good. And also, Italians have a good description of this situation: "Si non e vero, e ben trovato" (It might be not true, but it darn well fits the —-")
Gee, that's dumb on sooo many levels….kinda like when "the Germans BOMBED PERAL HARBOR!…."
Gee, that's dumb on sooo many levels….kinda like when "the Germans BOMBED PEARL HARBOR!…."
Oh you can't fool us Gutfeld. We your Chopra post is but a clever distraction from the really important discussion topic posited during last night's RedEye:
BREITBART'S DISTURBINGLY EROTIC RUBBER BALL BUMP AND GRIND!
If that bit isn't set to the music of Andrew W.K.'s "Fun Night" and featured prominently on the Year 2009 Best of RedEye Special, then I fear that I must cancel my DVR subscription to your program, sir.
If Deepak is so trusting of the rest of humanity I suggest he starts by taking all the locks and doors off his house……No need for self defense in a Chopra world. That should work out fine for him, up until the point he needs to call the heavily armed police department to save him from some lunatic liberal fan of his………….A coke and a smile aye Deepak? What a putz!
How ridiculous. As in all things, somebody has to be the big boy on the block. Would Chopra really prefer that America step down? To be replaced by whom? Russia under Putin? Or perhaps Red China? Would the world really be a better place with one of these nations as the most powerful nation in the world?
It is time the rest of the world recognize exactly how blessed they are to have America standing between them and the true tyrants hovering at the gate.
Oh you can't fool us Gutfeld. We know your Chopra post is but a clever distraction from the really important discussion topic posited during last night's RedEye:

Anybody that buys into this Bozo's drivel has got to have a screw loose to begin with. The fact that he was pal of Michael Jackson speaks volumes. Nice hat, Deepak. Wish I had two. Moron.
The point is that one cannot have peace with those who do not want peace! But in the view of this guy and so many others like him (including Obama) the only thing you have to do is smile and be sweet, and magically everyone will love us and there will be peace in the world.
The real world does not work that way. The real world is full of invididuals, groups, leaders and nations who will not be placated no matter how much you bow and scrape to them, and who will spit in your face no matter how much of a peaceful hand you extend to them.
But people like this guy and others refuse to see that. They live in fantasy world of their own making. That would be fine for writers like Chopra. But when world leaders have that same false notion, it's dangerous. That is the place Obama has us.
And unless he changes his ways, he will lead us to our end. It really is as serious and as straightforward as that.
He's responsible for the Sitars and Tablas and other funny Indian instrument sounds we hear…
Pacifism does not equal peaceful.
Yes, but the problem is that these types of ideas are what most people sincerely believe!
and get the twisty cheese thingy…..FOR FREE!
I'm not trying to put words in his mouth. That should be clear from where I start my sentence with "I suppose…"
It should also be clear that I'm asking questions. That's what the question mark means. Get a clue.
Amen! Well said!
Here is a little fact that is sure to get Chopra upset:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_carrier
Of the 22 active aircraft carriers in the world, 11 of them are owned by the United States. Further, our smallest (93,500 tons) is huge compared to the next largest (Russia's 67,500 tons).
USA USA USA!
No way, Oprah's head is the size of a beachball, no faking that.
You may be on to something there. On the other hand, if that picture is to be believed, he just could have been M.J.'s Siamese.
Hmmm–I guess those war-like Jews just brought that German anger down upon themselves. Serves them right for building all those weapons and invading so many beer halls.
Oh wait…yeah, right.
nice catch!
If this ass-clown hates this country so much, what's keeping his butt here? Oh, I forgot, this country has given him OPPORTUNITY to become a multi-millionaire. In India he would be just another guru without followers.
Thank you for this. I am aware of this guy's "all we need is love" philosophies, but I was not aware of his anti-American views!
Chopra.
Oprah.
Coincidence?
I still have no idea who this tool is and why he thinks he's relevant…..
Who the hell is Greg Gutfeld? Congratulations to the lot of you for gathering on an insignificant message board and massaging each other's egos, but I suspect Chopra has a bit more insight into world affairs than an American bloggist willing to tell us that the Iranians "seek relief from totalitarian madness". How long did you live in Iran before coming to that conclusion? How many Iranians did you interview? Or are you just relying on what you see on Fox news? For that matter, what's the last world war you helped stop? Or any of us for that matter? Anyone who helped stop a world war is either dead, or likely doesn't know how to use the internet.
For the record, I am not a fan of Chopra, but if you are going to refute him, at least do so intelligently, not as a pissant nationalist rant. If you aren't at least willing to look in the mirror and do a little self-reflection you are a bigger moron than he is. Fewer than 3000 Americans died in 9/11. Over 1mil people have died in Iraq, including over 4000 American soldiers, and our economy. And this is us "saving millions of lives by ending world wars, getting rid of dictators, stopping famine and assorted civil conflicts, and preventing mass disease"? Than why do we only spend our time and resources "saving millions of lives by ending world wars, getting rid of dictators, stopping famine and assorted civil conflicts, and preventing mass disease" in countries with oil, coca, or opium? Where is our presence saving the world in Darfur or Rwanda? Or does Africa not measure up to our "white American establishment", you moron?
I posted something similar below, before I read this. Sorry, Tenn Jed!
LMAO……..Fido was attracted to the smell of GodAwfulHo's leg! Eeeeuuuu!
So are you saying that "Pacificism = Anti-Americanism"?
The answer is no one…..
I nominate this for Best Idiotic Leftist Internet Rant of the Day!
Will anyone second the nomination?
FU Dumb ass!!!!! GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY YOU FILTH!!!!!!!! My God these people come here and try to change instead of assimilate – I'm getting so massively sick and tired of asshats like this Dr. Wannabe
There is a huge difference between Ghandi & MLK's movements and dealing with governments/nations such as Iran, whose views are grounded in Islam – which is in itself implacable. Or places like N. Korea, who has a tyrannical leader who fancies himself a god of sorts and oppresses and kills his own people!
How dare you compare me to the Palestinians? How dare you?
Take your childish notions elsewhere. It's people like YOU who keep perpetuating this 5 year old's view of the world, that everyone is sweet and nice deep down inside, and if we just kiss up to them, they will like us. Grow up and see the real world – the real world like in Iran, where people simply want freedom to live as they choose and even while PEACEFULLY demonstrating, get shot in the streets by their own government. You tell me what chatting with people who have no qualms about slaughtering their own people like animals can accomplish?
You sir, are a hypocrite because you have personally killed over 1mil American kittens via pleasuring yourself to Greg Gutfeld.
Deny any of this and we will release the video on the Web and bring shame to your Mom and stepfather!
You sir, are a hypocrite because you have personally killed over 1mil American kittens via pleasuring yourself to Greg Gutfeld.
Deny any of this and we will release the video of your disgusting acts on the Web and bring shame to your Mom and stepfather!
If the Japanese had reached India during World War 2, Ghandi's idea of passive resistance would have floated down the Ganges along with his headless corpse. Thanks to the American, British, Indian and Chinese armies, he lived to see independence for India.
Apparently the UN hates Africa as well.
They could do something, could they not?
I mean, yeah, they rape and steal from the people there, but you know what I'm getting at……..or maybe not. You ARE a leftist
I'll bet she smells better now….
You are seconded…..
lolzz at the simpleton with the propeller beanie
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
I only wish I could give you +10 good guy thumbs up warrior points for your response to "moron."
Willful blindness to those who wish to do us harm is Anti-American. If that includes playing nice with them and paying them protection money or other trinkets not to hurt us – for now – is Anti-American and downright dangerous. Pacifism is what got us 9/11. Osama himself said that our cowardly pullout of Somalia was an indicator that we were whimps and deserved to hit. Bush didn't run into Iraq with guns blazing. He took 14 months from 9/11 to the time we set foot in there. He gave the spineless UN ample opportunity to do something, but they were too busy taking in the sites of NYC and living high off the hog from my tax dollars to meddle in that. After how many worthless, toothless UN resolutions were ignored by Sadam, did we go in? I think it was around 17. War is a necessary evil sometimes. To act like we can all get along, all the time is shallow and not based in reality. Chopra is an annointed liberal feel-good guru who gets more attention than he should.
"Pacifism does not equal peaceful." LOL. So what's your point then?!
Non-Leftist: "Fine, Deep Hack…tell us: who we should be emulating?"
Deep Hack: "Why, Europe, of course!"
Non-Leftist: "Why should Americans seek to emulate a culture that is literally committing suicide?"
Deep Hack: "What do you mean?"
Non-Leftist: "First, not one of the native European peoples are meeting the minimum population replacement level. Second, of the 20 countries on Earth with the lowest birthrates, 19 are European. So which is the more rational policy, Deep Hack: strongly asserting oneself…or committing suicide?"
Deep Hack: "Uhhhhh…"
You mean Keith Olbermann??
There is a rational case to be made for the peaceful warrior. or even "America as the peaceful warrior".
But neither the author nor any of you rubes seem interested in anything that isn't basically acting like Klingons on Star Trek or the Spartans of 300.
I nominate Scott McC for best resonse to an idiotic leftist rant. "moron" should be strapped down and forced to listen to the clip of that CNN dirt bag (Lemon?) getting the response from an African reporter that the African welcome to Obama was no larger than the welcome for Bush. His look was priceless; almost as if he had found a strange pubic hair in his facial soap.
Have you ever been in a fight?
I think your comment is pretty funny as well!
Rubes…..very clever…..
Your over the top dramatics is pretty funny…..
We have a winner! Your choice of prizes are a 7-11, a gas station, or a lovely new Dunkin' Doughnuts……Enjoy………
The fact that Ghandi's method of peaceful resistance worked reflects well on both the Indians and the British. Ghandi took the Brits' basic respect for human life, dignity, and freedom, and wielded it as a weapon. Same with MLK Jr.
When you deal with evil regimes or individuals, there is no basic respect for human life. In fact, they celebrate the extinguishing of innocent life, making peaceful resistance ineffective.
Chopra lives down the road from me and he is the ultimate capitalist. The guy never met a new age service that he didn't market and make tons of money doing it. His targets are invariably very rich women, who are SO wanting to be fulfilled.
As far as I can see, he is very happy here in the money grubbing USA. Yet another visitor who is happy to take from the USA and piss on it at the same time.
What else is new.
"How dare you?" it was pretty easy.
"There is a huge difference between Ghandi & MLK's movements and dealing with governments/nations such as Iran, whose views are grounded in Islam – which is in itself implacable."
really now? The 1979 Iranian Revolution was preceeded by months and months of protests much like those we are seeing today.
Yes, you are correct that people who peacefully demonstrate wind up getting shot by their own government. There are the tiananmen squares. But there are also real actual velvet revolutions. I'm not being a pollyanna – this is what it means to be on the "right side of history". Right now there is a lot brewing in Iran. There is MUCH more to come from the people there against that regime. And no- the US would not be doing any favors to that movement by sticking its nose in. No matter what Obama haters on the right here might say.
The key to Ghandi's success lies with his enemy. MLK as well.
To use peaceful means against an adversary that essentially respects life, and is civilized is one thing. to use it against an adversary that savors death and is known by cruel oppression of it's own people is another.
I agree with TXVA below. Had Ghandi tried this against WW2 Japan it would have been a different story.
Sometimes death is the only way to peace. It is unavoidable when there are evil men in the world.
Or maybe not so strange….
The stupid think about his Palin remark is that women aren't allowed into the SEALs anyway. Ventura is a buffoon and embarrassment. His election in Minnesota was just a warning shot for that state's latest contribution to the national downfall: Al Franken.
"Ohhh thank you many thousand times, but I was very much prefering a motel, a 'Budget 8' perhaps"
"Peace is achieved by being peaceful…"
sure it is. and that's why all the playground bullies have disappeared.
cheap semantic trick…not gonna work…
"Tell that to the Iranian voters, jackass."
That is the greatest thing I have ever read – EVER
So Ventura is going for the Hulk Hogan look? It works better with the bandanna.
Perhaps the former Navy Seal is upset that Sarah is too conservative to go commando. Guess he has to scratch that fantasy off the list.
"cheap semantic trick…not gonna work… " Of course not. Not on you at least.
But then I'm not too concerned about making points with those around here that have their hands on their ears screaming "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA".
Thank you, sir. I only wish I could accept those ten points. It seems like I've been stuck in the high fifties for weeks…
That about sum's it up! Our work is done here. Next topic please……………
I thought he was the twin brother of the guy who anchors Nightline and did the revealing documentary on MJ. Your call which is really the evil one.
Peace through fire superiority.
Ghandi was leading an inevitability…he just happened to be an English trained lawyer that wore bankers suits for years before '"finding himself" and leading what was the right thing. MLK similarly seized the moment and led a inevitable movement…that's not a critisism of either, they just stepped into the breach. MLK was a deeply flawed man at the personal level, his "proclivities" and proof there of died with him…I wonder who got all his diamond jewelry and Rolex watches? Poor preacher ya know…
This man is a HORSES ASS!!! I have seen him interviewed a few times and always ALWAYS change the channel.
Mr. GUT, great article and looking forward to see what Norton has to say tonight!!!
"gee, if were jus' as smart and ejumaketed as yuin the werld wood be a beter more peacelik place and stuff"…."thak u for grasing us wit ur brilance Coggy boy…"
You'll be outta the fifties in no time with that one! Thank god I finally got that seat belt on my chair….
Okay Hank, I'll indulge your line of questioning here.
Yeah, sure. but only as a kid. Mostly fending off bullies from myself or my younger sibling. Even picked a fight once, but the kid was a bully to begin with.
The big moral lesson I got out of that part of childhood was: "It may take a man to fight. But sometimes it takes a bigger one to walk away from the fight". I dunno if that translates to "pacifism" in your book.
How about you? As a kid or as an adult?
