Daily Gut: CNN’s Sour Lemon
by Greg GutfeldI’ve been way behind on this, mainly because I had relatives staying with me, and consequently I’ve been drunk for four days. However, this piece of footage is still worth showing, courtesy of Weaselzippers. In it CNN’s Don Lemon is interviewing a correspondent about President Obama’s visit to Ghana. Here Lemon earnestly brings up the “unprecedented” welcome Obama received upon his arrival. Only he finds out quickly, that it wasn’t unprecedented. In fact it’s totally precedented, if indeed that’s a word:
Watch Lemon’s response around thirty seconds in. It looks like someone gently pokes him with a stun gun.
Can we go back to that moment again? But this time, producers, let’s slow-mo it.
Joy! In that instant, you learn a couple of valuable things:
-Lemon is adorable when he’s miffed
-It’s always hilarious when a reporter’s assumptions aren’t met. Blinded by ObamaLove, Lemon overlooks the fact that Bush is pretty much a hero in Africa – ending brutal wars, giving tons of humanitarian aid, and most important saving millions of lives fighting AIDS and malaria (a disease brought to you not just by mosquitoes, but by your average environmentalist and his misguided hatred toward DDT).
-In sum, when it comes to Africa, Obama has some pretty big shoes to fill. How disturbing it must be for Lemon, that they belong to Bush.
Tonight, the delightful John Gibson, the hilarious Frangela, and the delectable Anna Gilligan. And finally, our softball game. It’s worth the wait.

Don Lemon has always left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth and once again I'm reminded why. Think I'll watch it again.

Lol! He seemed downright angry to learn that dancing, drumming, cheering and happiness is a general celebratory greeting in Africa, and that it wasn't special just for Obama. I thought he was going to throw a hissy fit for a minute. He got a little snippy with the way he dismissed her.
I remember how the MSM was absolutely 'tongue-tied' when President Bush was in Africa and was treated like a conquering hero by the people of the nations he visited. Their (the MSM) shock was total and complete. And then they had to give muted praise to President Bush for all the good that his policies attempted to bring to Africa. The same occurred earlier in Albania when President Bush was mobbed by adoring crowds. They (the MSM) didn't know what to say. And hopefully the day will come when President Bush will be able to walk the streets of Baghdad. No doubt in my mind that if that were to occur the Iraqi people will be chanting "Bush! Bush! Bush!" for their liberator and champion. And the MSM will once again be in shock and tongue-tied.

Actually, anyone who has ever watched a foreign leader arrive in Africa knows that this is a traditional greeting for visiting leaders. I wonder what Lemon thought when Obama went to France. . .

Cheney had people alter the video footage from angry riot scenes to happy dancing scenes. Then he killed the villagers and burned the village to the ground before stealing all the country's national resources.
A shame Obama had to go to Ghana and couldn't stop in Kenya to say "hey" to brother George, maybe stop by the hut and slip him a $5 so he could retire. Maybe next time.

Every time I hear about a new "HISTORIC" Obama moment, I keep thinking how every infomercial always sells things in 3 or 5 "EASY" payments, as if throwing some arbitrary adjective in front of it will dupe people into believing it. But, apparently it works all too well.
They CONCENTRATED on Bush joining in with a cerimonial dance tribe, with predictable "whiteguy, no rythm" results. I thought the whole sceen was kind of endearing, of course the leftist press used it as a opprotunity to shove their collective bi-focals down their noses and give him the "I'm SOOO superior", Charley Gibson look. I get tired of saying media double standard, but MEDIA DOUBLE STANDARD!

The only thing missing was the "Potemkin Village" background. Obama forgot to have them go in early and build a few fake skyscrapers, fountains and ski slopes to demonstrate all the wonderful things the Ghanians have to thank him for. Well, I didn't read every post so I may have missed this observation. Not only did Lemon get dissed by the news that the welcome was not unprecedented but she seemed to twist the knife when she said that Bush even joined in with the dancing. I didn't watch the Obama coverage but I'm guessing he did not. Seemed like a subtle jab when she added that tidbit.
Help me here. Did CNN do something to the company that makes Ex-Lax so that the product is no longer available there? Is fiber intake outlawed at CNN headquarters? Like Wolf Blitzed, Ole Lemon looks a little packed full of fudge.
While in lapping the heels of the teleprez, you'd think this man just got the boot with that Very noticeable jumping out of his seat moment. Preceding with the deer in the headlight look after being slapped down was hilarious! I noticed that the camera shifted to the lady for a while, of which I've no doubt the dude knocked down some extra quads of happy teleprez pills before showing up again.
This was heartening, but it pales in comparison to the neverending Obama lovefest that is Anderson Cooper 360. It's always on in my local gym, and I can't change the channel. And for the past several days it has been pasty-white AC himself, strolling calmly beside Obama through Africa, commenting on how 'historic' the moment is, and wondering 'how he feels' walking through these horrible places on the dark continent. It's enough to make the average viewer vomit. Pity they can't take two minutes out of their knob-slobbering to show Obama's family, who still live in poverty. Or maybe some scenes from that war we're fighting – you know, the 'good' one, in which we have no 'exit strategy'.

Obama doesn't identify with blacks. They're not "his" people. Liberals are his people. Obama's dad was not an influence in his life as he was another absentee father ( a story too common in the black communities). His white mother is largely brushed under the rug. Obama was raised mainly by his grandparents (more whites).
All through his life, whites coddled and cooed over him. He joined the right groups and used his "no sudden moves" approach to social climbing to get where he is today; no challenges were ever placed before him, no one told him "no".

This whole idea of Obama making us more liked abroad – so important to libs – is pretty funny when you consider that he went out of his way to insult nations that were allies and strategic partners already. Obama has insulted Britain, snubbed India, bullied Israel, Honduras and Colombia, undermined Iraq (before November – now he is merely trying to ignore it)… It´s clear that if you are trying to be even slightly pro-Western, Barry don´t like you. And the reverse is also true.
Bush was smarter. Not only did he know good from evil, he knew where the future lies. I think India counts for more than Russia and Iran put together. And one day Chavez and Castro and the Mullah regime will be gone and our current aimless maneuvering will buy us little goodwill with the successor governments – or the people. Facts, the reality of human nature, proper grammar, courtesy are unimportant. Power is all that matters and lefties stopped a long time ago trying to appeal to reason and the better side of humanity. It's easier to demogogue opponents and pander to the dumded-down narrow-minded voters than to engage in rational argument and disagreement.
