If you run a stop sign, etc. in this country you are fined and made to sit in a class full of other MINOR offenders for 8 hours. You are belittled and made to watch horrific traffic films until you have been Clockwork Oranged. But you break a FEDERAL LAW and are rewarded… What's wrong with that picture?

Yes, agreed. I meant "solved" in the sense of creating facts on the ground as long as we do not act. Why the US shouldn´t have a controlled border like every other functioning nation in the world is beyond me. Liberals always want us to learn from the international community, but I can think of no country that is more welcoming to illegal immigrants.

Exactly. Even conservatives have bought into the liberal myth that conservatism is somehow bad for women and minorities. And that is why they don´t want to talk about them or to them. Drives me crazy.

On the other hand, Bush got over 40% of the Hispanic vote and McCain got over 30% even after the hard right and the Obama campaign had done their worst. That is not a majority, but it shows that there is some potential. A few percentage points here and there and 10,000 votes can give you a state…

Many have bought the crap about how the dems are for the little guy. Is their environmental policy for the little guy? Do their tax policies encourage people to better themselves and get rich? Does their abortion policy help the littlest of guys?
You're right about how they live their lives and view the world. Take the Hmong for instance. Many are extremely conservative(in the Burkian sense). They also work their collective pants off and Tend to be very family oriented, yet for some reason many vote Dems. Saddens me to no end. Vote for the very terrany they were trying to escape……

Being in the United States without proper documentation does not make someone a criminal. As Rudy Giuliani pointed out during the campaign, it is a civil offense, not criminal, similar to a speeding ticket. Is everyone who has ever received a speeding ticket a criminal?
