Daily Gut: The Empathy Express

It’s just a few months into the Presidency, and Barack Obama is finally living up to his middle name.
In a good way, of course!
In front of the Turkish Parliament last April, he stressed how he’s lived among Muslims, while also saying the West must “educate ourselves more effectively on Islam.” Of course, I thought I learned all I needed to know already. But I’ve soon realized that all that terrorism, murder, and mayhem are the fault of extremists – and Islam really is a peaceful religion (we should really be listening to Olbermann and focusing on those nutty rightwing Christians who fly planes into abortionists).
So I totally get what OFM (our fearless Messiah) is doing. Before he was president, he stressed his Christianity, because we’re a nation of Christians. Now, with the office under his belt, he can speak freely of his experiences in the Muslim world.
It’s not a problem, Mr. P., I get it. You see a Muslim world out there – and you employ that magical word you sincerely believe opens every door. Empathy. You figure that if you bring up something you have in common with these folks, then all the bad stuff goes away – and we can talk about real crap, like climate change and, um, climate change.
But is this Empathy Express working? Well, while Obama gears up for his meeting with Saudi royalty, bin Laden has released another tape, threatening Americans, and claiming that Obama has “sown new seeds to increase hatred and revenge on America.”
See Mr President – that’s how it works in the arena called Good vs. Evil: you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I know that where you went to school, that concept was considered laughable, and good and evil aren’t vertical ideas, but horizontal and existing side by side – one no better than the other. And so everything’s relative – especially religious practices.
But not for the people who hate us – and you might as well get used to it. A friend of mine keeps a photo of the World Trade Center in flames on his refrigerator.
You might do the same when you travel abroad.
If anything, to piss off the help.

I'm sure we all wish Mr Obama the best in his efforts to charm and disarm the Middle East extremists. If he can talk them out of their nukes and insane hatred for any belief and any peoples not like them, then more power to him. If he can convince them that their rabid tribalism and nationalism are dead end streets and that we wuvs them like he does then maybe he can make the world a safer place. I'm sure he's listening intently and he 'feels their pain'. We can only hope that if it keeps one of their suicide bombers from killing one of our guys or gals that it was a worthwhile trip.
I have educated myself on Islam: I've read the works of Robert Spencer and Brigitte Gabriel.
What could this "president" possibly be speaking about — because I'm sure it's not Sharia law. Just when I think I can't be more disgusted … wow.

These Terrorists are not listening to anything anyone says. This isn't a debate that can be won with words. They want to kill us, and no amount of reasoning or apologies will make them suddenly "see the light".

I do not believe that the Dear Leader is some sort of Muslim sleeper agent; rather, I see him as the Messiah of the anti-Western/multi-cultural paradigm that insists all non-western cultures are superior to that of the US. (If you were to ask me whether I consider him a crypto-socialist you would get a different response.) His insistence on denigrating the Judeo-Christian tradition in favor of fuzzy-headed PC One-Worldism is a manifestation of this belief–I only hope we will survive it.
I am reading "Jefferson's War", about our nation's first War on Terror back in the first decade of the 1800's. Absolutely amazing the parallels between then and now.
No amount of appeasing would bring peace. Paying "tribute" (i.e. bribes) to curry favor and gentle treatment… annual renewals, or else these Barbary Nations would declare war on us FOR NO REASON!!! (Except, that we were not Muslim, and we didn't pay their bribe.) Just amazing.
That was over 200 years ago. And, it was going on for another 200 years prior to that.
This culture of hatred and destruction and living off the earnings and labors of others… They understand nothing other than military power.

The Muslim extremists feel nothing but abject hate toward the West–whether we claim we're Muslims or Christians. The bin Laden's of the world hated Clinton and Bush, equally. They hate this clown too, and probably moreso because of his out-of-the-ballpark extreme liberalism.
The extremists hate US–all of us–all of the United States, so wake up Obama before you get (us) blown up!

2010 and 2012 primaries, caucuses and elections: Now is the time to remember and not forget, acquaint friends and anyone willing to listen with the issues, and pay attention. Circle the dates of next national caucuses,s primaries and elections, should be posted now on your state's secretary of state's website or other local-state election offices. Prep for the next election cycles can not begin too soon.

I was listening to talk show with Mark Steyn as a guest (can't remember the host). But Steyn said something that kinda scares me, but is true enough. He said something to the effect that Comrade Obama hopes there isn't another terrorist attack long enough to change America with his socialist agenda.
It's amazing how a foreigner stands up more for America than our own president.

Mr Gutfeld is right about one salient point- Obama is, and will be whatever he needs to be- at that moment. The shape shifting that denotes liberals is being raised to new levels here. When discussing Sotomayor he can sound both conservative ("she will follow the law") or knee jerk liberal ("she will bring empathy to the court") and keep everyone- except his left wing constituency who knows better- guessing…
Greg's absolutely right to point out that there is no religious relativity when it comes to Islam. In fact, it's dangerous for Obama to point out his Muslim "roots" as though that's a good thing for Muslim relations. If he was raised Islamic and is no longer a Muslim, he is an apostate, a perpetrator of the greatest possible sin against Allah.
I worry less about any possible Muslim sympathies that Obama might have than I do about his seeming inability to understand that nothing he ever does will placate the jihadis. He doesn't even seem to realize that though the radical Islamists are currently joined in mutual cooperation (a la Hitler and Stalin), they hate each other almost as much as they hate us. You can't reason with a rabid dog. However wrong I think Obama may be, I believe he is sincere in his belief that his peace missions are for the good of the United States. I fear he is in for a terrible disappointment, and one that could prove to be a dangerous display of weakness to those who wish to see us dead.
Steve Malzberg on WOR radio here in NY just predicted that BHO will convert to Islam if he wins a 2nd term. I agree with him.
In 8th grade history, I wondered why anyone would ride a horse (much less march) from England, France, etc. to the Middle East during the Crusades. Now I know. I only wish they had been more successful.

Indeed, he is lying with inhuman ease. I noticed it a few months before the election, and so should have everyone. That ability to tell people whatever they want to hear is rare, and requires a psychological makeup that should bar anyone from having great power. Narcissism is destructive.
Bush was basically honest; the elites called him an embarassment, "uninspiring speaker" etc. It brings up the question: do you really want to be ruled by a "clever politican"? That´s like selecting the biggest con artist as your used car salesman because "that guy could sell condoms to the pope". A clever politican is not necessarily a good leader. He may not even be on your side. People who can´t get beyond the fact that Obama looks good and talks well should ask themselves: What´s in it for me?
After all, they are not hiring a salesman – they are the marks who are buying.

Bush, on the other hand, never liked the con- and was uneasy when he had to sell something he didn't believe in (and that was rare,too).

Technically, he has to be called to Islam and if he refuses, then they can kill him. They have to call us to Islam too. They've done that many times, and every time we don't immediately fall down and worship Allah, they can kill us. Although, if we have either the Christian or Jewish faith, they are supposed to offer dhimmitude if they are in a good mood that day.
However, if it is discovered that his father was a Muslim, and he's been a practicing Christian … then he is an apostate who has turned away from the Faith … at that point, they are all bound by Shari'a law to stop at nothing to try to kill him. Although there are some places where they can try to call him back first if they feel good that day.
I'm sure there are some of theirs sitting unsold in a warehouse somewhere … We could likely re-purpose those.
Obama is anti-West and anti the USA as we know and love it. Aided and abetted by self loathing liberals who have flourished under our freedom but fester with hatred for the country and democracy that allows them that freedom we are now at the edge of an abyss. And as for his Muslim past I can tell you without fear of contradiction that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for the son/stepson of a Muslim in Indonesia to be raised as a Christian.
Since 76% of the US population consider themselves Christian, and less than 2% consider themselves Muslim, you can see where he got confused. It's blatantly obvious that the teleprompter got it wrong again. Maybe he should switch back to the widescreen tv.
The British prime minister says he has "strong reason to believe" a Briton captured in Mali has been killed by al-Qaeda militants. Edwin Dyer was travelling in Niger on January 22 when he was captured along with three other European tourists, but had been reported to be held in Mali.
Al-Qaeda in Islamic North Africa, known by the French acronym AQMI, released two captives, both women, in April. The fate of the other hostage, a Swiss man, remains unknown.

You cannot reason with Islamic radicals. They loathe everything about Western culture and will not stop their crusade until Sharia law is the dominant force over all the land. England is already entrenched in Sharia Law, and has catered to fundamentalism out of fear under a facade of "tolerance". France has over 700 no-go zones over which they have no control. Remember when they bombed Madrid, London, and Manila? Those citizens sure as hell do. Or are those nations "arrogant" too? I implore you, don't cater to these people. Because when they want to commit their heinous acts, they don't ask, "Did you vote for Obama?" They just kill.

Of course, this hopeful thought complete ignores the possibility that Mr. Obama's trip will make the US look weak and indifferent to the power brokers in the Middle East (for reference, see North Korea).
Yeah, it might prevent one suicide bombing, but how much other violence will it cause?
I just realized something…I have never seen a video of Obama speaking right after the 9/11 attacks. Sure, I have seen him talk in recent years about fighting terrorism and what not. But, I have never seen his more immediate and raw reaction to that event. Surely there must be tape of it somewhere.

It is my understanding that to Muslim thinking that any Muslim who rejects his religion even for a religion of the book is an apostate. IT is also my understanding that any man born to a Muslim father is considered a Muslim.
Radical terrorists have more reason to go after PBO then Bush. This is what worries me about these trips to the middle east. I hope someone at the secret service understands these facts better than I do because it worries me.
