by Greg GutfeldSo two women are in the news today: Janeane Garofalo for refusing to apologize after calling every single tea party protestor racist – and Carrie Prejean, still, for answering a question honestly about her religious convictions.
Now Jeanane was approached by Fox New`s own Griff Jenkens, who had asked her if she regretted her blanket stereotyping. To her strange, delusional credit, she stood by her original comments: that every tea party protestor hates black people.
Meanwhile, Prejean continues to be hounded over semi nude pictures. I would call the photos topless, but technically that`s untrue, what with that target on her back (a target that was placed for holding the same beliefs as our Commander in chief).
Now, according to Griff, Janeane is so enraged at the world and the conservatives who happen to live in it – she confessed to cutting out chunks of her hair. Which is weird, because other than Fox News, no one in the media seems to be questioning her comments.

Now I ask you: of the two, who`s uglier?
Is it the one who answered a question – rightly, wrongly, or plain clumsily – based on her religious convictions about the “opposite marriage?” Or is it the woman who, not off the cuff, stereotyped an entire group of people based on the fact they don`t want their taxes raised?
The point is, the media excuses Garafolo`s ugliness, because they agree with it. The witch hunt for Carrie exists only because it`s carries a stamp of approval by the media.
You can`t get much uglier than that.

I watched Griff's clip this morning. What I'd really like to see is give a conservative that attended a tea party a mic and a camera and have a discussion. If I were anywhere near NY, I'd do it. And I wouldn't have to be confrontational.
I think Garafolo is just grateful to be on television, no matter what it involves. Her career is absolutely nowher, and this is after 16 years of being a "celebrity". My hat is off to the producers of "24" who wrote a scene where Keifer Sutherland screams at her and tells her to shut up and stop complaining.

I presume Janeane G deems herself to be a feminist. I wonder if liberal feminists ever grasp the irony of lashing out at Western society the way they do. Western society has created the culture which which allows women the freedom to be feminists, but they seem to be stuck having a victim mentality. Like children rebelling against their parents. I am not here to defend Garafolo because overly broad sweeping generalizations are almost always wrong. I also think the same thing about overly broad generalizations applied to "the media". "the left", or "the right". She was definitely not correct when she characterized all the tea party people as racist.
The problem I have is while Greg is deriding a media approved "witch hunt" going after Carrie he is also praising a media approved "witch hunt" going after Garofalo. Yes Fox News is part of the media. Why do you only want to defend the free speech of those you agree with but send Griff Jenkins after those you don't agree with. I am not a fan of the "beauty" that the world foists upon us. Miss Usa and America types do nothing for me. Garofalo is much more my style. A few years ago whan she did that whole unsuccessful snarky schitck, i though the self deprecation was cool and i thought she was good looking.

Prejean honestly answered a loaded question during a beauty pageant, her opinion in agreement with a majority of Americans, Californians, and the President. For this she is jumped on by the MSM, has "racy pictures"– of a swimsuit shoot, for Chrissake, leaked to the press, and is denounced by the chief skank of the Miss California competition (never mind that she has posed totally nekkid for Playboy), and told that she's delinquent in not "speaking for all of California." By which she means for all of the self-anointed spokespersons of the entertainment industry who have the power to make Carrie's career a living hell (Never mind that most of California agrees with Carrie).
Difference is that Garofalo went looking for notoriety, and Carrie Prejean just came into the liberal's line of fire.

Every week I participate in the live discussion of "24" among Dave Barry's blog commenters (which is loads of fun and I highly recommend it — as long as you don't mind them taking playful jabs at the show!). The group over there cannot stand her and cheers wildly — in pixels, of course — every time she gets a dressing down. And they're not even all conservative.
I wonder sometimes if the "24" people gave her the part just to let their conservative viewers experience the joy of watching her get told off. Or am I reading too much into it?

I can't say I remember Garafolo in Seinfeld, but I won't try to watch those episodes now, as I can't see anything in her but the vitriolic nature she displayed on Olbermann's show.
That has been my impression of her since I can remember her – she's always come across as mean and nasty. I remember seeing her on a few news shows not too long after 9/11 and she was out blaming America for everything. She was one of the first to try to discredit Bush43 within days to weeks of the initiation of that conflict, before there was any real dissent.

All she knows is that her parents were rich and worked for Enron, and she hates them. Everything else is just based on a feeling she gets every time she thinks of whatever issues lie therein. The only reason she appeared to make sense when having a discussion with Griff Jenkins is because his role is not to debate, it's to ask questions and let the person tighten their own noose.
Given the fact that she held to her statement that I'm a racist, I'd say that noose around her neck is plenty tight.
My guess is if you worked on a movie with her again, you'd still find her to be professional and pleasant. I don't see any reason to believe anything other than that.
Because the right has rendered itself so completely unimportant in the discussions of any of the real problems that face the country, this is all they are qualified to deal with.

"All the teabaggers" didn't have reason to be concerned until late in 2008 when the Bailout was first started. When Obama continued the bailout, and then did a trillion dollar wasteful spending bill, and continues to plan and project massive spending with no end in sight, we had to stand up.
It's not all about Obama, and it's definitely not a race thing. Obama is just the POTUS currently in office. If it were McCain doing the same thing, I'd still be protesting.

I would like to add that Garafolo got free speech, and absolutely nobody is trying to silence her. Jenkins allowed her plenty of time to make her statements, and she certainly got all the free air time she wanted on Keith Olbermann's show, with no interruption or debate.
I would be more than ready to bet 3 or 4 Fox shows contacted her agent about doing an appearance, and she declined them. I don't know that to be fact, but I'd bet a week's pay on it.
I tend to respect the fact the current administration can make decisions that don't depend on the past administration, in fact. Hence, there's no reason to worry where anyone was during the Bush years. It simply doesn't have anything to do with the spending THIS president is allowing, insisting upon, and exhorting us towards. I would imagine that's the same credit Jenkins offered to Garafalo.

So people were against the high spending in the Bush years. But Obama's taken those years and put them on steroids. His spending is out of control and the upcoming taxation will probably be out of control too. You libs like to say that we were all for Bush's spending and the fact and truth is we weren't. Just look at it this way, if you like socialism, I'm sure patriotic Biden and Obama have no problem taking 50% of your earnings for the collective good. You're all for that, aren't you?

The left has catagorized any dissent on their opinions as either hate speech or stifiling their free speech. It isn't. Garafalo, as with most mouthy liberals/lefties are one-way rant machines. Traffic only goes one way and they put up the gate when there's push back. Prejean stated a fact that most people from the state of California felt as she did. Even Barack Obama does. But the left IS trying to silence her through intimidation. As with Sarah Palin, it isn't working. They're tougher than most liberal men.

I am glad Carrie gets to keep what she earned. as to the other person in the article maybe she needs to be taught about Box Office Poison. She needs to learn that her words have a price and if that hurts her bank balance then so be it,. I would say hurts her feelings but I am not sure she has any feelings.
