Daily Guy: The Case for Punching Chavez in the Face
by Greg GutfeldSo when I was about ten, I had to go to a lousy summer school, where they grouped all the students together, regardless of age. There, I sat next to this older kid named Patrick, who enjoyed tormenting me daily in our leather class (it’s not what you think: we made wallets and belts).
Every day, the jerk would wait for me after school, and demand money from me, which I refused, even as his threats became more brazen. Finally, however, I gave him 50 cents, and he seemed to like me. He patted me on the back.
But then, he ran me over on his bike.
I only bring this up because I now see Obama regularly engaging in dialogue with bullies – who for years have been crapping all over America. I hope Obama knows that “dialogue,” and friendly handshakes mean nothing to them. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned: you can’t rehab a bully. Bullies cannot afford to change, because their power exists only through fear, not through competence, confidence or popularity. I mean, things are so bad for Chavez at home, that shaking a fist at America is all he can do to keep the spotlight off his own corruptive incompetence.
But what’s even worse: Chavez is a turd-shaped bully we could destroy in our sleep – which is precisely why he keeps bullying. He knows that being the David to our Goliath guarantees victimhood if we decide to shut him up.
But by lecturing us on what’s wrong with America, Chavez is giving Obama a golden opportunity to do something we`d all love to see: to stand up for America, by flattening Hugo like a frittata.
I for one, would like to see if there’s something underneath Obama’s suit, other than well-sculpted abs.

Nixon shook hands with Mao.
And Chamberlain shook hands with Hitler.

That's why Nixon's on the dollar bill and Chamerlain was voted The Greatest Britton Ever.
I've been drinking cough medicine, by the way…
To my way of thinking it was a wasted symbolic gesture–typical Obama. In the world court of public opinion Mr Chavez got a point for the handshake, Mr Obama lost a point. Another wasted opportunity for Team Obama.
Side note on Hugo and his book to Obama…y'know, the one that talks about the United States' alleged exploitation of Latin America…
…Hugo has exploited more Venezuelans and South American resources than any of our industrialists ever could. The difference is he makes people feel good while he does it.
Comrade Obama was sitting silently and taking notes so he has something else to apologize for.
Of course, one reason he buddy's up to Chavez, Castro, and Ortega is because they all are, or want to be, socialist/communist dictators.
And if you don't agree with me, you're worse than Janeane Garofalo.
Yeah, both of those examples worked out real great for us, didn't they? Obviously it was the handshaking and craven toadying that saved the world.
Obama has convinced so many misguided Americans that he is the Messiah that he's come to believe his own propaganda. Too bad he can't make a few billion gallons of oil out of a couple of fish and a loaf of bread. Then he wouldn't have to pucker up to Chavez, write songs of love to Castro and send appropriate gifts to Ortega. Oh, and bow to the Saudi king.
i would not punch chavez for fear that whatever is wrong with his skin might be contagious.
every surviving opposition politician and newspaper editor in venezuela looks at that photo and groans. obama, to his credit, backed out of the durban conference. but here he is is letting himself be exploited and made a fool of in the exact same way.
How exactly is Chavez bullying America? Because he was against your disaster of a war? Please explain what Chavez has done to America that is bad. You don't even know. You are just another right-wing maniac that wants to be at war with every nation and race in the world.
I wonder if Obama thought to ask Hugo why Hugo's little country needed to buy 500,000 AK47s from the Russians? Or why he needs a factory to make even more? Or where those guns have been going in Central and South America?
Doubt it.
It wasn't the Chavez handshake that bothered me, it was the french kiss that followed.
Maybe you are the one that doesn't know:

Troll, be gone!
Opposing the conservative war machine is good for America
Where's the pie honey? You do know how to make pie don't you?
guess I missed it.
Actually, going to China and shaking hands with Mao is one of the few things that Nixon is given credit for.
hey man! We all have MUCH to fear from Chavez. His military is 1/600th the size of ours. 1/600th!!! That's way too close for comfort.
19 guys brought down the world trade center. 20 killed hundreds in India. A handful killed two hundred in Indonesia. So what's your point?
The scary thing is that President Obama appears dumb enough (or maybe it's naive) to think that Chavez is sincere.
http://the100mostannoyingthings.blogspot.com/
No wonder PBHO wants the book, he wants to be sure he isn't forgetting anything…
Several years ago watching the liberal cretins celebrate Castro and the rising dictator, Chavez, I had a revelation. The democrat political filth in DC look abroad at the tyrants in latin America and they’re envious. They want to be able to suppress US citizens like the latin despots, they want to control the media like Chavez and Castro, they want to nationalize US industries like Chavez, Castro and Bolivian president Evo Morales. The anti-American democrat filth not only want to impose a western European failed socialist system on us but they want to rule with the dictatorial power of those filthy latin tyrants.
Cont……..
Barack Hussein has declared war on America. He is raiding the public coffers, fleecing American taxpayers for Trillions, paying off donors and supporters like Acorn, nationalizing companies as done under fascist rule, releasing a “hate watch list” the day before the Tea Parties in an attempt to intimidate dissenters [this alone he should be impeached for], threatens to use the tax code as a weapon against a group of citizens, busses govt paid goons [Acorn malcontents] to protest on Hussein’s behalf [he should be impeached for this as well], allows the idea of injured vets paying for their own medical care to be floated, plans on imposing cap and trade legislation based on faulty and ridiculous evidence [CO2 a pollutant? Then air is a pollutant]. The market tanked 30% since Hussien was elected, we are suffering through devastating economic times and 60 days after Barack Hussein was inaugurated the Treasury dept still has over a dozen vacant seats. But that’s not important to Hussein because ultimately the economy is not important, what’s important is to enact legislation that will fundamentally change America for the worse.
Hussein and the democrat party are the enemy.
Opinions vary.
Hey, Shillue met Chavez once and he was quite the nice guy. When he told him he was a conservative and an American, Chavez was kind enough to give a 2-second head start before he had his socialist nationalist police force march him into the dungeon with the rest of those liberty-loving scoundrels and journalists. It showed the man has a true heart and can only be reached if we stopped talking about the negative.
Is Venezuela still on Chavez time or have they reverted back to that capitalistic pig formula the rest of the world uses?
Naw, just the idiotic, dangerous ones….
Maybe your right…but I still think the entire world is just a touch too much hyperbole. You know about hyperbole, right, pie woman?
Anyone who thinks that you will dissuade a bully by giving him your lunch money has never encountered a bully.
You missed it because he was doing it from behind, and was on his knees at the time.
big surprise, our trolls have finally found each other, must be troll love at first sight
Really,
And how do we know this……….
Chavez is building military bases in Bolivia for some reason the Chileans are worried about it. Brazil is not thrilled either.
Columbia is upset over Chavez's backing of the FARC guerillas. So how many are they. But hey since Obiman is so cool with the Jedi Mind Tricks answer me this. Has Russia stopped selling planes designed to carry nuclear bombs and submarines to Venezuela.
And hey if Chavez is a dictoator who had thugs kill student protestors in the streets when they oppose his fraudulent stealing of an election why you libs are OK with that, aren't you.
You know your user name is extremely descriptive.
Andrew,
What make's you think Obama has a problem with that. After all if Hugo has 500,000 AK47's then America must have 300,000,000 M16's right.
And after all we know what the libs always say its the guns that do the killing so we don't really need to assign all 300,000,000 of us an M16 do we.
My My all you need to uncover a liberal lie is simple Algebra.
Ahh, Greg, if only the world was exactly like your summer school. Things would be so much easier. And, as demonstrated here, there's a much less actual thinking to do.
Carter gave up the Shah of Iran. I wonder who Obama is going to give up and what will be the results?
I suppose a psychologist or psychiatrist could make something out of Obama's childhood…..abandoned by his natural father, seemingly let go by his step-father, cast aside by his mother and so on and so forth….and from that come up with some sort of explanation of what it is that makes Obama fawn over third world dictators or Saudi despots. I think it is more basic than that. Obama has some deep-seated animus for this country and at the present has the wherewithal to do us considerable harm. However I wonder if he might be such a poor student of history that he has failed to learn that America always seems to snap back from adversity.
I believe it has been said that at some point after the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor the admiral in charge, Yamamoto, was quoted as saying "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." Those may or may not be his precise words but history unfolded as he predicted.
I think Obama's election and subsequent actions have also been a sneak attack of sorts on America and I think that the hard Left and their sycophants will come to rue what they are in the process of awakening in this country.
"flatten like a frittata"
– LOVE that. I've got a list of dictators who are ripe for a little Sunday brunch-ing.
But Nixon specifically went to China to meet Mao with much diplomatic fanfare and after years of diplomatic discussion. He did not just show up in China. Obama should have had Chavez make the first move. When he walked over to Chavez, it said that the US and Venezuala are on the same level. It cheapens this country and, despite what Obama may think, legitimizes this thug.
Nixon shook hands with Mao? Well, he met Mao in order to crush Red Russia. He did it b/c he loved America. It was a trick. (But the fact that you have go back decades and take one handshake story out of context is sad.)
Obama, by way of contrast, loves Left-wing dictators. That's the real story. Obama is a tool.
The only way to win with a bully is to knock them flat on their azz and then continue to kick their azz until there's nothing left to kick. I learned that growing up, apparently obama did not.
The only way to win with a bully is to knock them flat on their azz and then continue to kick their azz until there's nothing left to kick. I learned that growing up, apparently obama did not.
One of obamas problems is that he's LEFT handed.
That seems to be the standard right wing historical moment. What exactly did Obama do, give Chavez Guyana?
BTW: Chamberlain was a right winger too, a Tory, read a history book, talk show parrot.
you had me at "turd-shaped bully."
Really now, what did Chavez realy get out of it, like nothing, God you people are even more superficial and petty than the usual meanness and stupidity I associate with reactionary talk show parrots.
I guess Obama should have attacked him physically or something to make you Chuck Norris fans happy.
It you are joking then okay, But if not, you are a seriously disturbed bully, probably from fetal alcohol syndrome. Dude guess what, Chavez has not attacked america in the least, except for words. But retarded fascist bullies have always been attracted to the military!
If you equate shaking hands to pearl harbor, then you are one stupid piece of right wing paranoia dude. It's a handshake dude, he has not attacked us you brutal moron!
We all know how your fundie faux redneck idol stood up to those Saudis, with those plush receptions at his ranch!
See a shrink fast, then work with someone who can help left of the bell curve minds like yours perceive reality in more intelligent terms
…well, I guess pointless violence IS a conservative value.
…are you retarded? Simple question.
Sounds like another right winger suffering from Downs Syndrome as well as terminal paranoia
And you wonder why most rational people thinks so little of Tea Party crackpots?
=== God you people are even more superficial and petty===
Hilarious, especially from a liberal clown who probably voted for Hussein [in the primary] simply because of his skin color as did most liberals. Tell me stupid, would you vote for someone if they associated with an abortion clinic bomber? What about if they associated with someone that blew up a police station and the Pentagon leading to the murder of at least one individual? If you voted for Hussein then you obviously would.
Tell me stupid, did Hussein look this pleased when he met Bush? Hussein has no idea how to be presidential because he’s a punk that surrounded himself with Chicago trash such as Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, Rezko, etc. Instead of being serious when meeting this little tyranny Chavez he’s giddy and giving Chavez a street “handshakes”. It’s about as ridiculous as bowing to a Saudi thug, giving the Queen of England an iPod or giving the British Prime Minister a set of DVDs [ones that weren’t even compatible with European players- what a schmuck].
Smoke break is over loser; get your knee pads and get back to work.
No doubt you and pb are the same losers. Tell me stupid, what do you disagree with? Is Hussein not raiding the coffers? Did his goons not threaten to unconstitutionally tax AIG bonus recipients at 90%? Did one of his goons not float the idea of wounded vets paying for their own medical care?
Idiotchild, I know you’re not capable of discussing the issues, you can only fling your insults like a monkey flinging his feces. I hope that extra $13 in your welfare check is the “change” you voted for.

Hilarious. Tell me stupid, do you think most rational people approve of a president going around denigrating their country on foreign soil?
=== Really now, what did Chavez realy get out of it,===
He becomes more legitimized and his tyranny accepted by “respected” nations. Tell me stupid, why do you suppose former Presidents didn’t meet face to face with Castro, Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong Il, Saddam Hussein? Let alone look giddy about it.
JFK shook hands with Khrushchev.
Nixon shook hands with Mao
Bush held hands with prince Abdullah.
Even Rumsfeld shook hands with Saddam.
Don't let logic, facts or history get in the way of a good argument.
If you want diplomacy it starts with the common courtesy of shaking hands. It's what grown ups do.
You're a true blue dyed in the wool idiot. I've never been in the military and that would be DUDETTE to you, moron.
Read a political science text. Chamberlain was part of an intra-party split which thought Conservative Prime Minister David Lloyd George too far to the right. Conservatives (Tories) in England are on a par with the liberal Democratic Party here in the US. Not leftists by any means, but certainly not "right wing." And if you have any further comments to make, try not insulting anybody and everybody who disagrees with you. It might fool us into thinking you actually know something other than HuffPo and Kos Kids talkiing points.
Ok, I've just figured out that jamaloper is either Chavez or obama.
Jakealoper; He's like Anderson Cooper but with more teabagging.
Considering that he has used the expression four times so far, "reactionary talk show parrots" must be the HuffPo/Daily Kos insult of the day.
SgtTank it sounds like you may have been the bully in school?
Tell me if Obama pushed Chavez to the floor would you suddenly become an Obama supporter?
Sorry to tell you but most of learn while growing up to respect people and not push them around like kids do in the playground. You can still drive a hard bargain and not budge on principles. You can still hold sanctions. And, yes, you can one declare war if you need to. But at the end of the day it's best not to 'kick their azz'.
I guess you didn't notice the invite to build a naval base that Chavez gave to the Russians? And what a name you have…antifascist…have you looked up the meaning of that in a dictionary?
As demonstrated by said Heathcliff.
You don't need to kick azz to kick their azz, get it? Wait, you're a modDem…of course you don't.
Wait a minute, I'm trying to feel insulted….naw, it's not happening for me.
At least he didn't allow himself to be hung up and beaten like a pinata, to atone for the sins of the American capitalist pigs. Always look for the positive, Greg.
Much unlike peace loving liberals who support dictatorships that oppress homosexuals and free speech.
Those leaders at that point in history had a different status with us under different circumstances.
Also, Khrushchev backed Kennedy against a wall and poked his finger in his chest. The rest is history.
Just a hit and run troll. He'll post a few more, and be gone for awhile. He'll return under his real screen name later: "Jackoffloafer."
Nice psychoanalysis. But Freud probably had it right: "Sometimes a pr–k is just a pr–k." Or was that "a pencil?"
It would've been perfect if Chavez gave Obama a Chomsky book, and Obama's like, "Thanks, but that is so 1970. Here, take this," and hands Chavez an Alinsky book. Then they drink coffee and chat about how awesome it is to steer GM and AIG like it's Dad's yacht.
So sorry modem but you're wrong in every sense TYVM. I was bullied until I learned to fight back, once I kicked a few azzes I was never bullied again, catch my drift. I am only 5' tall, hardly the size for being a bully.
Different time, different circumstances.
You are simply demonstrating your desire to not even understand those who you disagree with.
OBAMA WANTS TO BE KING
All of the conservative blogs seem surprised when Obama does something that will heart the USA. You either haven't figured out, or have forgotten, Obama does not want the USA to succeed. If nothing else will convince you of this, him wanting a civilian police force UNDER HIS CONTROL that has as many members as the military, and funded equal to the military, should convince you he wants to take over the country. What did Adolph Hitler call his civilian police force? Obama can't activate the Nation Guard, governors have to do that. With his civilian police force that is as strong as the military he could easily take over the country.
I honestly believe Obama wants to be King, not president. He knows he can't be king in a republic (we are not a democracy), so he is aligning himself with those who will help make him king. Since a person can only be king in a dictatorship, Obama is friends of dictatorships since he wants to have one of his own. Using this logic it is easy to see why he wants to be friends with Venezuela and Cuba.
He bowed to the Saudi King because the king is like the Godfather to Obama. You only bow down to those you are in allegiance to. In that simple act Obama showed the world who he is subject to, and who he honors the most.
I think Obama's plan is to turn the USA over to other countries, and he figures he will be crowned king over it, or a part of it. Now I understand why he couldn't keep from laughing during his 60 Minutes interview. He knows they are helping him become king, and he will be ruling over them as their king some day.

I'm sure that's what the neighboring states of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria along with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria who contributed troops and arms to the Arab forces thought about Israel in 1967. It took a vastly outmanned and outgunned Israel only six days to win. That's why none in the Muslim world are concerned about Israel today, right?
Are you kidding, at 5' you've got at least six inches on any of our trolls — that makes you very imposing. Plus, you've got that whole brain thing that they are missing.
" Plus, you've got that whole brain thing that they are missing."
Well yea, there is THAT.
That's not a pencil in his pocket, he's just happy to see you.
Trust me, you can have the bully gene without looking the part. If you managed to 'kick azz' I'm sure that means you aren't a 5 ft wimp either.
But I kind of know you're sort of kidding about the Chavez thing. No body would expect world leaders to knock other world leaders over.
Obama has the typical problem that some parents want with there kids…..
They want to be their kids best friend and they will do what ever it takes to be it……
I don't want a President that the whole world loves and thinks is really cool.
I want a President that will protect America, kick bu** and take names when needed,
and tell the rest of the world to go pound sand if they don't like it…….
Rule # 18 for a Gunfight…..
Watch the hands, hands kill…..In God we trust, everybody else keep their hands where I can see them !!!!!!!
Actually, I can think of nothing more fitting for Chavez than for him to get roundhouse kicked in the face.
"Don't let logic, facts or history get in the way of a good argument" — the ModDem creed.
It's clear you have the azzhole gene.
That's a relief. I think.
what brand cough medicine?
I was taking COFF-EZE for a while till I kinda went blind for a couple of days.
Switched over to cherry HACk -NO-MO it's OK but my fingernails turned black
but I'm not going to blame that on my medicine.
Well after all we did save europe from tyrrany twice, put an end to the cold war, defeat the USSR, feed have the world and cure Aids in Africa. so of 'course Obama should apologize.
I feel like going to Europe and going door to door apologizing to people for Obama.
Is it cold under your mother's basement Troll.
Do your feet get cold. BOoHoO
it is clear Obama seeks affirmation and is in dire need of being liked, doesn't matter by who; he longs to be accepted and popular. too bad for America, but that's what we get for confusing the elections for presidency with American Idol
"I feel like going to Europe and going door to door apologizing to people for Obama."
I wonder if they would accept.
I managed to kick azz in SPITE of being only 5' tall and 96 lbs. That's what happens when someone has finally had enough, eventually they fight back and the bullies usually don't like the results. Bullies are usually very small minded people who bully for the sake of attention. They never really expect opposition and are mightily surprised when they get it. They are usually the first ones to run away crying as well.
"Obama's election and subsequent actions have also been a sneak attack of sorts" – which part of 2 simple paragraphs don't you understand? you lefties are so raging mad you can't even finish 2 paragraphs without the blood interfering with your eyesight
btw – what exactly are you so mad about? you won the elections, but it seems something is still missing…
"But I kind of know you're sort of kidding about the Chavez thing. No body would expect world leaders to knock other world leaders over."
Actually I meant that part, metaphorically speaking of course. "walk softly and carry a big stick" and all that.
I can't stand Obama, but if he just up and plugged Chavez right in the chops I swear on the Bible that I would never utter a negative word about him again. I might even vote for him in 2012, but he'd have to give Ortega a wedgie.
For one, it suggests that Obama agrees with all that crap Chavez been talking about us. Obama attended a church for 20 years where the daily sermons weren't much different than a Chavez speech, so I can understand why Chavez might see him as a kindred spirit.
I have often disagreed with one president, or another, but this is the first time I have been convinced that the present President Obama is a threat to the security of the United States. When Obama first hit the news during the campaign I thought too bad he a democrap, because he would make a good Republican candidate. Then as I heard more about him and the speaches he gave, I began to recognise the possible disaster the nation might be getting itself into if he was elected president. The liberal wing of the democrap party has shown that they are a bunch of tax dodgers, liars, frequently ignorant of the truth, and generally a bunch of troublemakers. The democrap leadership is particularly onerous and have been the best example why we need term limits. Obama is intellegent, attractive, a good speaker as long as the teleprompter is working, but educated in the best Chicago tradition with no reaL accomplishments to his name during his short political carear. At his age McCain was just too old to have the needed energy to be a good president. At least he was knowledgable and knew what was the truth and what was a lie. His Cabnet appointees would have at least paid their taxes on time.
You have spelled it out very well. It is the 52% of the voting population that does not have the intellegence to understand what is at risk, and yes, I hope Obama fails in his quest to change the very nature of the nation. I just hope the nation is strong enough to overcome the attack from within that we are going through now. So what is it that makes that 52% of the voters make their voting preferance with their heads stuffed up their rear's? The Readers Digest published an article some years back quoting someone who said that once the population figures out how to get money from the nations treasury that the country is already heading down the tube to destruction. Thats what is happening to us now. Like the woman said on a TV show "he is going to pay my rent, my utilities" and I forget all the other things. What a dufus she and others like her are.
Talking is fine. Dont' badmouth your country, don't give anything away, and don't be afraid to spout off about the greatness of liberty. Sounds like Ronald Reagan? Wish it was Barry? I'm afraid Barry has nothing between his legs.
Nixon's shaking hands with Mao was meant to drive a wedge (albeit a small one) between the USSR and Red China. I doubt Obama has such strategic goals in mind.
In any case, Tricky Dick ain't exactly the greatest presidential role model of all time.
Well I sure hope if your coffee shop ever gets attacked by AK toting hajjis you won't have a problem when the retarded fascist bullies just phone in a "sucks to be you" then.
My head exploded. I find myself in agreement (to a point) with Auntie here. Chavez is not bullying America. He's whining and complaining while spinning conspiracy theories (America is out to get me!) This does not mean it was a good idea for President Obama to shake his hand or accept a gift from him. He's still a wannabe dictator who has suppressed freedom of the press, supported terrorists and drug dealers (FARC), and generally made an obnoxious nuicance of himself while running his nation's economy into the ground. He is also making common cause with our enemies (Russian and Iran). I suppose a good return gift would have been "Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith though I doubt our President has read that particular volume himself. Sorry Greg. Funny article, but I have to disagree.
Auntie, someone said there would be pie. Why is there no pie?
The problem is that "P.B." mistakenly believes that punching Chavez in the face would be pointless.
I am guessing "P.B." has never taken a swing at anybody. If he had, he would know that whenever you punch someone, you are most definitely trying to make a point.
Did they all shake hands like this:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/multimedia/archive/0...
Americans do it all the time …what …getting hurt when the finger is pointed at you?
Oh, don't be so hard on Obama….you saw when he decided we should find MODERATE Taliban..and the answer was "huh?" Then when we told Russia we'd take our missile shield down if they spoke for us in Iraq! ..and the answer was "huh? nyet" He thinks if we're NICE to them, they'll be NICE to US!! I'm ALL FOR IT……….then make like a liberal and pretend that'll happen in our lifetime! Nyet!
My favorite part was accepting a book which shows how WE have badly messed with S. America .."Oh, gee..THANKS! ………..you want, uhhhhhhhhhh, one of MINE showing how badly America's also treated our Black population? Oh, you don't give a cigar (oh even my buddy Castro's??.WOW!) about how 'my people' were slaves? well, we sure do thank YOU for YOURS because I LOVE books that make America look bad………….Muchas Gracias, hugo"

antifascist,
By your handle alone, you show your ignorance. If you really want to understand fascism, I suggest you read Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism. Oh, I forget, you're a Liberal, so you probably can't read.
That being the case, I suggest searching YouTube for "Jonah Goldberg Liberal Fascism". Fascinating talk.
Andrew,
Don't you know? The Democrats are telling us that Mexico gets its guns from flea markets and gun shows in the U.S., not from Hugo Chavez…
TGS,
You are 100% correct. This is a very orchestrated dismemberment of America.
The only thing I don't fully know, probably due to my optimistic view of humanity, is whether President Obama knows what he's doing, or whether someone else is pulling the strings.
So you lied. It isn't that Chavez isn't trying to bully America, it is that you agree with his bullying. Gotcha!
Chavez is against our war because he can't fight one. He would wipe anyone out if he could. Yeah, Chavez and Castro are just peace-loving doves. Bush: worse than Hitler! Wake up.
Interesting – apparently nothing brings out the trolls like defending Hugo Chavez and Obama's embarrassing dealings with him. We've had Nixon and Mao trotted out, we've had Bush and the Saudis, I'm just disappointed that the inherent racisms of criticizing Chavez hasn't been played up more. The inherent doom of collectivism is always revealed when its adherents scurry like roaches from the bitter truth that Chavez is yet another populist leader who has enslaved his people and plundered his nation's wealth. I look forward to several more pages of the "You mean just like Pres. Bush schtick." I know, I know, I can't believe Pres. Bush was so stupid he bowed to the Saudi king – oh wait, that was Pres. Obama.
What an embarrassment this man is.
Obama's probably got Chomsky's books on his ipod.
No, say it ain't so – the democrats lie to us? *clutches heart* Isn't anything sacred anymore?
The pretty obvious idea is to spread revolution around this hemosphere. He's supporting FARC for sure (as his weapons have been uncovered at FARC camps along with some incriminating documents on a lap top). He's probably supporting narco-terrorists in Mexico or at least their insurrection in the southern part of the country. And my guess is that he's also supporting a half dozen others.
But then, those are all the good guys right?
Actually, if P.B. ever took a swing at somebody he'd learn that women are indeed capable of kicking the crud out of weak little boys.
Reagan would have pinned his ears back and punted him into the endzone.
"But what’s even worse: Chavez is a turd-shaped bully we could destroy in our sleep – which is precisely why he keeps bullying"
Greg wants to destroy a source that supplies1.5 million barrels of crude oil to the U.S. for bullying who, exactly?
Then again, got fired from Maxim in the U.K. for declining readership. Not being able to sell a lad mag in Britain is like not being able to sell fried corn syrup in Middle America.
Its not just believing his own propaganda. It's who he is.
Fatherless Barry from Hawaii, going off to Columbia and Harvard and learning that if he kissed-ass and acted smart, he could get ahead. Always smile and agree with everyone, tell them what they want to hear, fetch when they throw the stick. It got him Editor at Harvard review (thank you Marxist Professers!). It got him board seats on the Woods Fund and the Anneberg Challenge in Chicago(thank you Commies!). Need blacks votes? "God-damn America" sound good to me! Become President? Episcipalian Now! Yes Sir, Whitey! Chance the Gardner in black-face. The Fudge Nitwit.
America. Turn out the lights. It's over.
Or secretly traded arms with him.
But we won't need Chavez's 1.5 mil barrels of oil anymore. We have invested in "Green Technologies", right?! We will have an economy built upon "renewables". So it should be no problem to squish him.
I'm not sure any left leaners can criticize anyone for declining readership. I mean if the Boston Globe and NY Times are on life support, full of brilliant journalists, can Greg Gutfeld be held responsible for the decline of readership in Maxim? I mean, the magazine is thriving now that Greg is gone, right?
Hahaha, yeah, to understand fascism you should definitely read Johan Goldberg
And to understand love, you should read a condom wrapper
Chavez has a ton of enemies back home (and makes more every day … more than he kills), at some point one of them is going to put a 7.62×54R squarely between his eyes.
All we have to do is supply them with a GPS, Sat-phone and maybe a D-boy spotter and we could hasten that glorious day.
No, Obama won't do it (neither would Bush). Too bad really, a single bullet is cheap.
Chavez would chew up and spit out Obama with out breaking a sweat. I believe he was a gorilla fighter and spent time in prison for trying to over throw the government. I seriously doubt Queen and Marxbury rules would apply.
Unfortunately there are laws against bumping off world leaders, more's the pity.
… and if you disagree with that, you sir are worse then Hitler.
It looks to me like BO wanted to shake Chavez a little lower. Ditto the King. What don't we know about BO's private life?
Every day, the jerk would wait for me after school, and demand money from me, which I refused, even as his threats became more brazen. Finally, however, I gave him 50 cents, and he seemed to like me. He patted me on the back.
But then, he ran me over on his bike.
So do as I say, not as I do, huh?
It might interest you to know…skip that, you couldn't possibly care because you're probably out buffing some biker's chrome…but Chavez returned a 400 acre island that Citgo held in New Jersey after speaking to Obama twice and offered unilaterally to restore diplomatic relations.
The fourth largest exporter of oil to the US deserves better than your hatred, little boy.
Does it matter? Seriously. Nixon shook hands [with a big grin] with Mao. Mao! Yet I would never ever claim Nixon somehow had a thing for Mao or secretly liked his policies or something.
Goodness Ken, you of all people. You're usually one of the smarter ones on this site.
ModDem, I think you have a valid point about Nixon and Mao. I know Mao was 'bad' but did he threaten to bring us down, entertain our biggest enemy, Iran, and hand Nixon a book on all the evils N. America has wreaked on S. America? Has he called anybody a GREAT SATAN? Had Mao called Nixon an IGNORAMUS 2 weeks before that handshake? Mao was bad to his own people and we hoped to change that, but………….I DO see your point, I'm just trying to figure out if the comparison is a fair one and I think Chavez trumps Mao… in international affairs, at least (and, of course, we know what terrible damage he's done in his country…..)
Also, that was a first time deal…China kind of opening up…………Americans KNOW what Chavez really is and so I'd have thought Obama would have shaken hands without quite SO bright the smile, and without having reached over so many people at one point to smile and shake again. I believe Obama honestly feels these guys are good people and smiling and accepting insulting books and shaking hands is going to make everything okay. That's the scariest part….
Don't know about obama, but I just learned more that I ever wanted to know about how your thought processes work.
I'm gonna take a shower now.
"you can only fling your insults like a monkey flinging his feces. I hope that extra $13 in your welfare check is the “change” you voted for."
Couldn't have said it better myself! LOL
Actually is was a "cigar"- and I believe that was in direct reference to that incident involving Slick Willie and Monica Lewinsky…
Re: The Great Satan: that was some of the best trolling i have seen in a long time. You brought up every wingnut talking point beautifully. and the whole "he should be impeached" part was masterful. oscar worthy (seeing as how this is "big hollywood"). bravo, sir, bravo.
I love Greg Gutfeld.
If you haven't seen it, check out this Gutbuster.

The money quote: "And maybe that's why I sympathize with the store. I mean, as a dude, I am hardwired to stare at breasts. Sorry – it's a biological fact, backed up by reams of data proving mammaries are magnets for the male eye. Apparently, breasts are designed mostly to attract men to the front of a woman, so, they will engage in sex that leads to reproduction, and species survival. It's nature's neon sign that says, "Hey, stupid – not the butt – over here." "
Not only tactless, but stupid. I don't know if you're a virgin Greg (judging from your photos, probabilities must be high), but you do realize that you can have sex with a woman, in her vagina, from behind? You realize this right?
Where do you find these 'tards Andrew?
He said mean things and hurt Dubya's widdle feelings. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA1
So many internet tough guys, so little Mountain Dew and Cheetos.
Actually there's only a Presidential Executive Order preventing it … Presidents can rescind Executive Orders any time they want.
Venezuela, the country is the 4th largest exporter of oil to the US, not Hugo Chavez the man.
The man is not the country. Without the man the country would be better off.
So where was your condemnation of "hatred of a man" by "little boys" back when Ole Hugo here was calling Bush the devil?
Thanks Saul. Hope you've been well.
Not true, most of us tried it once … then we realized it was folly.
I have no problem with people making this mistake, my problem is with people making the mistake of appeasing bullies and not learning from it.
Even Neville Chamberlain admitted later that he was wrong. American Democrats NEVER DO.
Enjoy, Don't bend over for the soap, I hear BO is in your neighborshood.
AUTiger89, I'm afraid Hussein does know what he's doing. I heard audio of Hussein where he was being interviewed some years back and he was complaining about the restrictions of the Constitution. Hussein understands that that document is what's standing in the way of him implementing a complete socialist system so he's attempting to reach his goals by circumventing our laws. He's appointing czars which do not need senate approval, he's attempting to ram healthcare and energy reform into the budget because you only need 50 votes to have it pass opposed to the 60 that’s required for policy issues.
Chamberlain was an appeaser. He refused to deal with facts, and viewed the world through his own filter, regardless of the danger it placed on others around him.
Liberals are the first to say we just hate Obama because he's a democrat but are the first to throw the party affiliation at anyone else. Did it occur to any of them conservatives are not party loyal, they are issue loyal? Chamberlain and Obama both are criticized here for actions, nothing more or less.
I keep wondering, how the United States has been exploiting these cultures for 500 years? Is this public school math? History is that Spain did much more to destroy the cultures, our help (like the canal in Panama) built up South America. Should we give them malaria again? Should we drill in Anwar and give Chavez all his oil back?
For our president to smile and listen to all those insults instead of leaving the room is beyond reason.
Grow up.
Seems it would just be cheaper and easier on Obama's knees (and lips) to drill in ANWAR. The caribou are much nicer about things than anyone he has had to kiss up to lately.
to answer your question, Jakealoper prefers to be called "special" — calling him a retard is SO 1980's
Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful comments. You contributed so much to this debate, I just can't even begin to follow your act. Conrad, where do you come up with these wonderful ideas?
Are you trying all those recommended cough medicines?
Chavez was probably afraid that Obama would give him some marked down Kmart DVD's in the wrong format.
Obama will succeed in making friends with Chavez, just watch. By this time next year, it won't be a handshake, it will be the knuckle bump greeting. Followed by pictures of Obamy and Chavy running hand in hand on the beaches of Venezuela, Obamy's perfect pecs glistening….
"Then again, got fired from Maxim in the U.K. for declining readership. Not being able to sell a lad mag in Britain is like not being able to sell fried corn syrup in Middle America."
Are you sure about that? Britain has one of the lowest birthrates in the WORLD…maybe you "lads" just aren't interested in shagging women anymore……
And caribou are one helluva lot prettier than the Saudi King or Hugo Chavez.
Saudi Arabia? Uzbekistan?
Well Paul_D…If the idiot Liberals would let us drill our own oil we wouldn't have to suck on the Venezuelan hind t*t for 1.5 million barrels of crude…..and on 2nd thought…we could tell a lot of the other oil barons in the world to sell their blood oil to somebody else as well…………
But don't mind me… I am a middle states, right wing, terroristic veteran clinging to my God and my guns just ready to snap because……well you know…thats who we are !!!!!
Loved the show last night. Great Gut-a-logue. McCotter is a pistol. Absolutely LOVE the show.
Making diplomatic decisions based on our need for oil seems kinda of counter-productive …….
Dang…did i just say that…….
I can just hear Tim Robbins screaming "Not for my blood, Not for my blood"
Seems like liberals used to spout that all the time……what a marrrroooooonn
Oh you're so tough, Greg. What does one do when he plays George Bush for a tool and one can't use your brain to solve the problem? Start swinging huh? Pathetic.
In the game of international politics Chavez schooled Bush. Big time. Obsessing about handshakes and bowing and all the meaningless semantics of international relations makes you look really weak.
Oh, and if my saying this makes your brain hurt and gets you really mad, I would encourage you and whatever other rightwing tough guys here to come to NY and take a swing. I'll give you a free one. Then we will get to see who's tough.
Such a fascination with sculpted ABS. Greggy must have learned his toughness from being in the military or if he didn't serve he really should consider joining. The Army really needs tough guys like Greggy. And Dude all those sculpted ABS in basic training!!
that's right, Brisco……Mao wasn't threatening us with extermination.
Bush didn't hold hands with Abdullah, he helped him over a gravel path as any polite host would do (though it turned MY stomach, too)
And Rumsfeld shook hands with (gasp) an ally at the time.
I'm hearing a lot of people saying maybe obama might have smiled at Queen Elizabeth (he didn't) when he met her and shook her hand…..and NOT smiled QUITE so ecstatically when he had to politely shake Chavez's hand. You know, who really cares?…it IS what grown ups do, to shake hands. But the huge grin was hard to take..especially the second time when he reached out to chavez. Any American should have choked at that one. Chavez had (FACT) just called Obama an IGNORAMUS 2 weeks earlier (who knew I'd agree with Hugo Chavez on ANYTHING?) so I'd have thought Obama might not have been QUITE so warm and thrilled. And, added on top of being told by Robt Gibbs that our eyes don't see correctly in a VIDEO WE ALL SAW of Obama bowing so low to the Arab King, this is all getting a tad tough to take.
Actually, Dubya got to first base with Prince Bandar..
The liberal democrats learned a long time ago the less educated a society is the more dependent those people will be on the government for a living. We are still graduating kids from high school who can't fill out a job application. Each time I hear about this I ask myself, "Where are the parents?" Most of the time the parents are on drugs, booze, or didn't want the kid in the first place.
I would like to know if the illegal girl who had the ACLU make the school give her a translator all the way trough high school graduation has a job yet. Did they give her a translator for her first job interview? I really would like to know what kind of job she has, if any.
The propaganda media wants liberals in office so they promote democrats and downgrade republicans. Did you see the video of the guy who poled democrats who had just voted. One question was, "Who controls Congress?" They ALL said republicans. Without the propaganda media I doubt that any liberal democrat would be in office.
This would be a good time for a rich conservative, or several working together, to buy some of the failing newspapers and tell BOTH SIDES OF A STORY. Or they could buy a radio or TV station and start from there. I never have understood why ALL news media are liberal.
Many times I have said countries send agents over to other countries to try to infiltrate their news media, churches, civic organizations, their government, schools, etc. We do it too. I have wondered if it is working too well over here. How many libs are agents from other countries with a mission to bring our country down?
tehstupid
Yeah Chavez showed us what making a real facist police state was like. While you tough guys liberals screamed that Bush was a facist and then patted yourself on the back for being brave. You wanna show me what a real tough guy you are go down to Chavez's place and run your mouth about him and see how long you last.
I think he was referring to the likes of Cuba, Venezula, Iran and Hamas.
I get your point that in formal meetings, politicians are expected to be polite and shake hands and smile. This is even true when the person is someone that is not a friend of the country (such as Khrushchev and Mao). If the goal is to thaw relations, then it obviously does no good to be rude when greeting the person.
I think the problem that some have with the Obama-Chavez greeting is that it went a bit beyond a respectful handshake. In some of the photos, it looks like they are going to give each other a man hug.
This, combined with his bow/whatever to the Saudi King, irritates some people who don't believe our president should be so overly friendly to guys who are not necessarily on our side.
I guess the point of my photo was that it is not the act itself that is of concern. Rather, it is the degree of enthusiasm in the act. Some people interpret that to mean Obama really is a secret Muslim/Venezuelan communist who can't hide his true feelings.
I prefer to think that Obama is just a bit clueless when it comes to representing the U.S. to foreign dignitaries.
Making wallets and belts all summer long? Those golden days of yore…
I think it would have behooved Obama to be a bit less warm toward Chavez. True. But too Obama does have a big smile and I think he is genuine. The handshake style also is definitely not of the older-white-dudes variety, which definitely throws some critics into a headspin. I think if Obama is clueless it would be with regards to the way even the subtlest actions are amplified by the media and by those who dislike him. But that's what happens when you're President. Still, I don't think one can try to make every move based on what the critics will say.
It's one thing I really don't much like about poltics. Every move begins to seem calculated. That's what sunk Hillary.
hmmmm, cheetos and Mtn Dew!
~~~
Greg,
I am going to correct a spelling mistake, but NOT because I am a liberal weenie who wants to feel morally superior. I am a conservative republican who found the mistake to be the start of an either good or horrible idea.
You called your column the "Daily Guy" instead of the "Daily Gut." Now anybody to the right of Leon Trotsky or the Pelosiraptor can see that the "y" key is directly to the right of the "t" key.
Yet I like the idea of a "Daily Guy" column. Given what a bunch of sissies make up most television programming, we could designate one alpha-male per day to be a ""Daily Guy."
Metrosexuals and anybody ever a guest on Phil Donahue or current talk shows are eliminated. If they were in movies where stuff gratuitously gets blown up, they get a pass.
I am declaring you today's first Daily Guy. You wear jeans, and just don't give a d@mn.
As for the Daily Gut, I am going with myself. I have put on a few pounds, look like I am in my 3rd trimester, and will name it Gut if it is a boy.
eric aka the Tygrrrr Express
P.S. Reading this on the air…not necessary. My parents are tired of changing their last name and address. Then again, they are old and should not be awake at 3am. Also, you don't even look like Matlock or Angela Lansbury.
When was the last time you saw a right winger go around proclaiming Islamic theocracies to be totally awesome?
I keep wondering, how the United States has been exploiting these cultures for 500 years?
With Karl Rove's TARDIS, of course!
I know that President Obama – and his biggest advocates, Sean Penn and Bill Ayres – would like to be liked by dictators and kings. The problem is, there is a delicate balancing act when it comes to diplomacy. Shaking hands is a start – no problem. But all those people who are paying for you to fly around the world don't expect t9o be apologized for or trashed by our own President.
Mr. Ayres didn't use words, he used bombs. Sean Penn has met several times with a dictator who wishes for death to Americans. The President obviously doesn't care for Americans too much.
Very simply, all of the afore-mentioned men hate what America is..and want to CHANGE the Constitution, the two-party system, the American dream and the idea of anyone being able to become wealthy – like they all did – by following a personal dream rather than the dream of our new leader. And, you call us un-American. Huh.
Ah, so moving up the ladder of journalistic success would be the 3:00 am slot on Rupert Murdoch's broadcast teevee short-bus. Got it.
