Daily Gut: ‘Teabagging’
by Greg GutfeldSo if there`s one great thing we learned from today`s Tea parties, it`s how Anderson Cooper spends his nights off. It had happened during a conversation with talking thumb, David Gergen, who had just noted that the tea party protestors had yet to find their voice. Cooper`s response: “It’s hard to talk when you’re teabagging.”
Now, if you`re too old or too high to get what`s going on, here`s the joke: The liberal-leaning media are goofing on the tea parties by invoking the term teabagging, a phrased used to describe an act of oral sex performed by a man – either on another man, woman, or in Alec Baldwin’s case – a cheeseburger.
And so you have Cooper`s joke – it`s just a shame he ripped off the shtick from David Shuster, who apparently has never met a joke he hasn`t beat to death like a hunter on a harp seal. On MSNBC, Shuster repeats testicle-based puns with a fervent relish not unlike an eight-year old boy who just can`t stop sniffing his fingers. And, this, coming from me. I`m mean – I always thought I was the king of obvious jokes, but I relinquish that crown – because the real obvious joke is Shuster.
So why is it the MSM finds it so easy to sneer at a group of protestors, when you`ve never seen them do the same with the bedraggled buffoons protesting environmental ills, animal testing or the WTO?
Well, first: the protests involve people they`ve never actually met. I mean, these are average folks – not professional sign carriers. Most of these people work for a living, and ration their marching for parades. Also, the media abhors these people because they question the ultimate goal of their Messiah. These protestors know wealth distribution when they see it, and they`re calling it out – because the media cannot bring themselves to do it for them. After all, if they did, that would hurt Obama`s feelings. And if you learned anything from high school – you never make fun of Mr. Popular.
Lastly, the media hates it when they can`t control the story. These tea parties were out of their hands from day one-a movement that was hard to figure and impossible to spin. So, why not make fun of it? Why not make ball jokes?
But hey, who am I to judge? Whatever gets you off on a Wednesday night, Anderson, when nothing else will.

Cooper`s response: “It’s hard to talk when you’re teabagging.”
Well, you must admit, Cooper would be an expert on teabagging.
I believe after Anderson dips in his teabag, he likes to use a straw to suck out the liquid.
(David Gergen should try that quip the next time he's the News Hour, since PBS could use the levity.)
Just to point out the obvious, it should be "it's hard to talk when you're being teabagged," which may help explain Obamas little private pirate problem this week…………….
i'll say it again 'say it again-ers'
"tea bagging obama" is funny in any language, including 'Austrian'
“It’s hard to talk when you’re teabagging.”
anderson cooper is the teabagger? always had him figured as the teabagee.
Its not teabagging, its t-bagging. Ask a gamer, where you camp on your latest "victim" and drag the crotch of your character over the body's face as you wait for them to respawn and you get to kill them again.
As in; the scrotum where the testicles are kept. There is no 'a' in testicle. Anyone using the "tea" description is way out uninformed and demonstrating unbelievable ignorance.
It just pi$$e$ me off when people can't think their way out of the bag.
That said: I will enjoy t-bagging this Administration and its sycophants, (except Barney Frank, who would not take it as an insult…moreover, would probably sigh contentedly) over the next four years.
I wish these people would just *grow up*. With each new attack, whatever shred of credibilty they may have only evaporates by continuing to act like a group of junior high school kids.
On another note, I'm looking forward to attending the Tea Party event at the Santa Monica Pier this afternoon with my wife and hope to encounter a friend or two from Big Hollywood.
Great live coverage of Tea Parties @ PJTV http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=tea-party
Testicle Based Puns sound like a punk band from Sacramento
Personally, I'm really happy I didn't know the "proper" usage and spelling of this word. I may stick with the improper usage just to reinforce my ignorance.
That the level of reference for comedic value is so low says so much about the MSM. The Boston Tea Party is one of America's iconic moments and these deviants do their best to make fun of it. And George Washington had a set of wooden dentures, whaddy make of that Rachel ?? Some lame splinter joke …….
Cooper is no more a teabagee than he is a pole-smoker…….oh right…..scratch that…..
Yes they can make the jokes all they want. Soon the American people will get more than tired of this sophomoric humor. They think if you make fun of Americans protesting the fact that congress has placed a debt on each American household of $160,000 that we will just smoke the Hopium as we gel into our recliners and watch our so called leaders tell us that they know what is best for us.
They think that if they give us a Tax credit of $400 they can saddle us with a bill that won't be paid off in 20 years if we give them back $10,000 a year for they chump change they offer the American people.
Teabaggers or any other name they want to throw at us will not stop us from bringing Truth to the Light. Call us Terrorist. Call us Right Wingers. Call us Fools.
We call ourselves AMERICANS.
I just dropped Andy Cooper an e-mail here:
http://edition.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?...
Dear Mr. Cooper,
Your comment; “It’s hard to talk when you’re teabagging.” is as mighty a piece of childish snobbery as every gurgled by a man-child of the media. Shame on you and others who dismiss these acts of protest by law-abiding Americans who are disgusted with runaway government. Because these Tea Parties don't align with YOUR personal views doesn't mean they aren't news worthy or valid. You should be ashamed of yourself for trading objectivity for a (very small) chuckle.
The whole point of this, in my opinion, is to pander to the college-aged crowd that will immediately know what teabagging refers to and draw a negative association with the protests. Sure it's childish but we know better than to expect a higher standard from the MSM.
Wow. When I first saw the headline I thought it was just a dumb comment and that Cooper didn't know the sexual connotation. If he did, and did it on purpose, then it's really sad that he's stooped that low.
Of course, imagine the outrage if a conservative had said the same thing about some liberal/progressive/socialist/ect. protest.
PJ.TV is doing great work today. I have been streaming it all day!
http://lonewolfarcher.blogspot.com
Perhaps these commentators have a more personal connection to teabagging than they let on. I mean have you ever seen a video of Pinch Sulzbagger working the room at NYT editorial meetings?
Gee, Anderson, now that you've seen fit to give an opinion about teabagging, is fudgepacking far behind?
I heard Obama gave Cooper a pearl necklace….
okay all you goof-balls if you didn't get it the article is pointing out the shallowness
– repeatingly creating lame adolescent sexual puns won't be so funny when you're broke and can't afford a dinner out because your saving all year long to pay your exorbitant taxes
actually they are not getting tired of it. i meet an increasing number of people who's only news source is the daily show. with CNN's ratings in a death spiral, they're looking for a model to follow. since they don't have the brains to imitate o'reilly, they are now trying to be john stewart.
I can't believe a snooty Cooper would say such a thing. He must really hate the fact that the rest of us don't like taking it up the A$$ (In regards to taxes and BIG government of course)
Okay. Even I am going to walk away from that. LOL!
yeah that was priceless…..
he doesn't like that fact in any regard, WD
I'm just sayin'…and yours is technically more correct, since the only scrotes out there are the brave men and women of America standing up and saying, "No farther, no more…" And none of them are on public display.
What is even less on display is left-wing Democrats, who are currently under their beds all over the Nation. Fearful.
One thing they like to "observe" is that this protest is smaller than the "important" protests such as the immigration or anti-war rallies. Unfortunately they miss the obvious in this case which is that most of the people who agree with the "tea-baggers" are WORKING. Many people just don't have vacation days enough to spare for a protest yet in contrast a large portion of those on the left need only to program the Tivo to record the most important parts of their daily routine and their good to go. Working people protesting higher taxes and needless wasteful spending. Imagine that.
Oh I can believe it. He's the perfect example of an elitist liberal.
Ain't that the truth, I'm sure. Another guy that came from the wrong side of the tracks, joined the Army to make a living and serve his country, then entered the business world to chase the American Dream. NOT! What a spoiled punk, I wonder who gets in to his Gloria Vanderbilts? Bwarney?
Get ready for the leftist spin.
Is Cooper going to mention Sausage Stuffing and Donut Punching too?
Boy I'm startin' to get hungry
To the beat of ZZ TOP!
Went to the tea party today in home town. As usual, left wing newspaper underestimated the number attending.
When I got back in the car, CNN was "reporting" (I know, an oxymoron) on the tea parties calling them the "so called" tea parties. Interesting choice of words. When are we going to do more than quietly protest? When are we who foot the bills going to get the gumption to band together and organize, find out who advertises on CNN (I never watch that crummy outlet) and BOYCOTT every living one of the advertisers?
Actually "Tea bag" is as in the drink is probably the correct usage.
The term comes from the visual metaphor of dunking the sack of dried leaves in a hot water mixture.
T-bagging is most likely a bastardization of the formal "tea bagging"
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=te...
After spending about 2 minutes looking that up…. I'm at a loss to explain why I did it.
Does anybody watch Anderson Cooper anymore? These protesters are bringing up some valid points about taxation and over spending. We didn't like it when Bush over spent and we don't like it now that it's over spending on steroids. A lot of the people protesting had to take time off from work unlike some others before that got school credit for calling Bush Hitler. So instead of the MSM doing their JOBS and TALKING to the people they stoop to crass high school jokes. Then you have the libs that can't see past their rose colored ideology and the only way they debate is to name call and say "what about Bush" and “Where were you 8 yrs ago"?. Well I was working and over paying taxes that's where I was.
meanwhile whenever 2 liberal douchebags that smell like feet get together in front of a recruiting center CNN calls it a massive protest…..
Yup, it's coming. If the media even bothers to report on it that is….
All these losers giggling over "tea-bagging" probably also love fishsticks.
They make puerile jokes and wonder why nobody watches their newscasts or buy their newspapers. I wouldn't line my birdcage with some of these newspapers.
One thing they are forgetting – the people they are mocking are consumers. Consumers with an ever shrinking disposable income for whatever it is these clowns are selling. I anticipate a catastrophic loss of income for these views outlets on account of their consumers finding out that they are being held in utter contempt.
Still funny
Jimmy, I heard last night that there's one up here in the SCV. We're hitting that one .
Gee, that really took a lot of guts Coop, talking about decent law abiding people protesting peacefully. If you had any bags you'd say it to Barney Frank. Unlike Barney Frank, I won't hold my breath.
I wonder if you'll wipe that ignorant smirk off your freshly T-bagged face after people get fed up with being peaceful only to be ignored and humiliated? Why do you suppose Obama's Brownshirts at Homeland Security don't bother putting out reports about the self-described "anarchists" who actually resort to violence at the drop of a hat? It's because that's all they can muster, unlike the masses today who pray for peaceful change. I'm not speaking for myself, or anyone I know in particular, but I can't imagine this peaceful image is going to last very much longer. When the peace ends it's going to get truly ugly.
Lastly, the media hates it when they can`t control the story.
Except FOX News who is in many ways actually controlling the stories and the spin around these Tea parties. It's a joke. They have been advertising this for a month as though it were a corporate sponsored event.
Note too that most all of the people protesting today are actually receiving a tax cut this year. But, hey, the Left had a war to protest and now the Right can have their protests too.
Leave it to lefties to turn everything into a cesspool.
What gets me is that so many of them know what teabagging is. Hmmm, kind of makes you wonder how, when and why.
The MSM keeps forgetting that it's the right who funds them because as we all know Lefties don't read. So once they're boycotted by the right it's Buh Bye MSM.
The MSM keeps forgetting that it's the right who funds them because as we all know Lefties don't read. So once they're boycotted by the right it's Buh Bye MSM.
Indeed … and obviously he's "Catching" and not "Pitching" too.
eew
Brilliant!!! Good for you! I sure hope you get a reply (but I'm not holding my breath). I'd be interested in seeing what he has to say to THAT!
So… there wasn't ANYONE modestly pop-culture and/or internet saavy or at least under the age of, say, 35 at the planning-stages of this thing that might've piped-up and offered "hey.. we get the Revolutionary War association and all, but you MIGHT wanna avoid words or images associated with tea or teabags just, well, just because?"
Well why don't you tell us why bob, since your'e so EXPERIENCED in "teabagging" and all.
"these are average folks – not professional sign carriers. Most of these people work for a living,"
Exactly, not quite the great unwashed with multiple rings and things in their noses and ears
when they aren't cowardly hiding their faces behind bandanas. Oh, and no windows were broken,
cars overturned, or people arrested. Just average decent people.
Cooper obviously aspires to be Obama's factscrotum.
"but you MIGHT wanna avoid words or images associated with tea or teabags just, well, just because"
So, we're not supposed to use the word "tea" because of some frat-boy slang?
Some of the idiot liberals I work with were really cranking out the complaints today. "The Tea Party protestors are all such crybabies, they're Republicans who are just mad because they're out of power, Sean Hannity is behind it all, blah, blah. The best one of all was, "How dare they compare themselves to the Boston Tea Party!!" For years, all I've heard from these buffoons is how inglorious the American Revolution was–that it had nothing to do with democracy and freedom but was just all about rich landowners who didn't want to pay their taxes to England. Now they're all offended that the 2009 Tea Partiers are *daring* to link themselves to true revolutionaries. Idiots.
Anderson was using code language for picking up Gergen later in the week when they could get together and Anderson could scope out his teabag.
This whole thing is really unbelievably tasteless and tacky. There. We said it. Feel better? we do…
IRT Mjolnir:
Sorry, man. You're misinformed. It is "tea bagging". As in "dipping your tea bag" into the cup. The last place I would look for the etymology of a word or phrase, let alone pr0p3r sp311ing is a multiplayer game of "Medal of Honor: Spearhead" (the first place I ever saw the hilarious "tea bag" move). Gamerz, as usual, took a perfectly good word and misspelled it.
I bet you're a lean binder, too.
So we've reached the point where we have to pass every image phrase past Beavis and Butt-Head before we can use it? Besided, are there any phrases that don't have some sort of sexual connotation to some juvenile somewhere? Or, to quote a Leftist, Tom Lehrer, "When correctly viewed, ev'rything is lewd"
this is the funniest comment ever…I'm just saying…
I didn't know Anderson Cooper was still on the air, especially with his mumbling problem. I think he's more suited for DANCING WITH THE STARS.
http://the100mostannoyingthings.blogspot.com/
What exactly is the deal with David Schuster's mouth? He talks like just had his braces tightened by the Marquis de Sade.
Greg, it seems like a waste of a perfectly-good cheeseburger in the case of Mr. Baldwin…
It's nice to see how Mr. Cooper really feels about people with whom he disagrees. And CNN wonders why their losing ground.
Which, if you think about it, is sorta ironic since the ACTUAL original Boston Tea Party was an act of symbolic vandalism carried about by a group of angry young men in outlandish disguises
Just sayin.
"So we've reached the point where we have to pass every image phrase past Beavis and Butt-Head before we can use it?"
In a word? YES.
Rule #1 for setting up a cohesive political movement in the modern media age: Be as difficult to MOCK as possible.
Whoops. I'm late. Disregard my post below that basically repeats what you said.
Weird. Your reply didn't show up before. Oh well. Carry on.
So's his wife.
Here I was thinking that Barney Frank liked it.
Cooper just likes to watch.
Thanks Gut,
You've just added a phrase to my vocabulary that I can file with rimming, fisting and water sports. Swell.
Then why do you wish these people would just *grow up*?
Lets see these slime for what they really are … America will be better for it when these people are discredited and unemployed.
OMG! HA HA HA! Greg that was beautiful man!
So the rumors about Cooper are true?
He knows his 'tea bagging'.
Liberals are ball famished.
Thank you! I hate to confess my ignorance, but I had no idea what this was. Yours is the first comprehensible description I've seen. Knowing what is being alluded to makes this all much more interesting.
Teabagging: The appropriate response when government gives you a Cleveland Steamer.
I called the White House and left a message asking how many letters in the Austrian alphabet. They said they'd get back to me.
I thought it was a Dirty Sanchez…. or was that a Pittsburg Platter?
Oh! Was that a "news" report?
I thought it was either a SNL parody, or an excerpt from American Pie IV…
Gee it sounds so dirty and meaningless when you define it …………….
57, like the states of the U.S.
Actually it was a Speed Metal band from the late 80's early 90's from Cleveland.
word that…
I just saw Glenn Beck's segment on Fox News, he really nailed it for me.
As usual, here in Portugal, all we get are rehashed "Bo, the new White House dog" stories, especially since it's a portuguese race dog.
They're currently touring with the "Woody's", Cooper's vanity band.
Mentioning CNN's dismal ratings is an insult to the hundreds of people that watch CNN.
No Sergeant. No.
I do not wonder what a Teabag is Sam I am. I will not smoke them with a pole. I will not ride them on a bus.
I do not like them especially green eggs and ham.
Thanks to Frank Zappa that one is not the hidden innuendo that we expect for that kind of humor.
film at 11? they're desperate over there.
lol nice south park reference
Was this a Freudian slip or did Cooper just reveal something here? If in Anderson's experience he has a hard time talking while 'teabagging,' clearly he must be on the receiving end, right? Nice to know the position he takes.
Cooper is supposed to be a professional anchorman, right? Shades of Edward R. Murrow.
There was never any multitude of people protesting the war. In Fort Lauderdal in 2006 they had this big one 12 people showed up.
Not that the papers would admit that.
Bette watch it Growltiger….
Libtard troll #434 will probably report you to Obamafascist Hate Crime Squad #14. They are Black shirts not brown shirts ….
The Blackshirts (Italian: camicie nere, CCNN, or squadristi) were Fascist paramilitary groups in Italy during the period immediately following World War I and until the end of World War II.
Does that include the umlauts? Are they considered to be different letters in Austrian?
Unfortunately, leftist will always find a way to try to diminish the message any way they can. After all, they ARE Beavis and Butthead in mentality and maturity.
After Tonight can anyone actually discern the difference between the Knucle heads on MSNBC and the Idiots from the Communist News Network ( CNN)…. Apparently they are so narcissticly inbued in Cluelessness that they are now calling Americans all sorts of Names…with the kOS help.. and all they need to do to identify MORONS and Communists Idealogs is to just look in a Mirror… No wonder their ratings along with The Networks are sinking lower that Whale shit in the Pacific Trench…
All Obama supporters should have their taxes raised in proportion to his increases in the deficit .
Same goes for all voters in all elections from now on.
If your party increases spending you pay. If your party decreases spending you get a cut.
David Gergen is a 6 foot 4 inch of total WHORE…
When Erckle starts trying to push amnesty through for illegal aliens, are we going to start hearing about "Dirty Sanchez" ?
I always figured him for a plain old rump ranger.
Schuster is just a complete idiot , just a moron…and Anderson Cooper, lol…Right when he said his little comment, I thought , well Anderson, it must take one to know one…Those two represent their networks like Beavis and Butthead…laughing and making testicle jokes at the expense of millions of Americans that feel jaded by gov't…If you really want the best "burn of the day", check out what Shep Smith said about CNN today…you can find the link on Brietbart or just google it…Sick burn, atta boy Shep!!!! BTW, just listened briefly to Maddow and some butch~ broad skank on MSNBC about their take on the rally's today…what would Maddow and I'm assuming this butch Air America beeotch no about tea~bagging? Maybe a Cleveland Steamer but not a teabag…
Oh, lighten up. I'm already broke, because I am saving all year to pay my exorbitant taxes.
