Barackosis
by Greg GutfeldIn just five days, incredible tales of Obamamania have spread across the land like acne on a teenager’s back. A bakery conjures up Obama cupcakes, a British director – recovering from a bout of sobriety – produces a play about our luscious President – and a scientist has created “nanobamas” – likenesses of the Messiah on material a tiny fraction of the width of a human hair.
What we are seeing is not normal, friends – but reflections of a disease – what I call “Barackosis” and it’s worse than swine flu, bird flu and sleeping with David Geffen combined. Imagine a disorder that blends the earnestness of global warming theology with the compulsion of internet porn – creating a relentless need to remind yourself how great it was that you voted for Obama – over and over until your hands are blood-raw from patting yourself on the back.
In a way, Barackosis is exactly like Bush Derangement Syndrome – in that it offers its victims an emotional commitment to a person without having to closely examine that person’s ideas. It’s why Bush-haters refuse to see what the man did for Africa – and why Obama-lovers cannot make heads or tails out of what their man believes in. Even more, Barackosis means you don’t have to figure out where the bail-out money went, what’s in the stimulus package, or who the hell Carol Browner is.
Hint: she’s really bad.
The worst thing about Barackosis? The media isn’t reporting on it – because they’re afflicted by it. Remember the good old days when the press exaggerated health scares – like mercury in your fillings or autism caused by vaccines? Now, with their predictable alarmism ravaged by illness – they roam in a zombie-like state – unable to diagnose their very own suffering.
I would cry, but it would only make my Obama Smokey Grey Mascara run. Thankfully, I applied a hint of highlighting gloss and a shade of pear as a shout out to hope and change.

It is feeling very much like a fad isn’t it? A mile wide and an inch deep. I think the backlash on this one will be intense.
Dark Eden: by the time we see any backlash, it will be too late for our beloved Republic. I wonder, though…is he the President of the United States or is he the “President of only those mesmerized enough by him to vote for him?” He certainly isn’t considering ANY ideas of the 57,000,000 who had enough sense to oppose him!
Hopefully, non-infected scientists can isolate the Barackteria that caused Barackosis, but I doubt they’ll get the funding to find a cure unless the new strain can be proven to somehow be contributing to global warming (other than all that hot air from the TV commentators).

I’m enjoying how the mainstream media is elevating him beyond his capabilities because he has no where to go but down. It has to bode well for the GOP in 2010 and 2012 after the American public wakes up to reality.
It’s laughable how people put so much hope into a guy who spent most of his short tenure in the Senate running for president. He doesn’t have much experience but gosh he’s charming and well-spoken.
On the day the “annointed one” was sworn in, a group of peace-loving, can’t-we-all-just-get-alongers were down at the beach here in So.Cal. They were throwing shoes at an effigy of Bush. There was a little blonde-haired girl, probably five or six, yelling at it and throwing her shoes, hoping to “kill” it.
Isn’t it just like the left…teaching their children intolerance and hate. As you know, it’s not intolerance if it’s someone who doesn’t agree with you.
If you are one of the 57,000,000 who didn’t vote for Obama take heart. Eventually even the dumbest follower is going to say “hey wait a minute”.
Every day more and more of his followers are wondering just what this guy stands for. The rot will set in and the media will scramble tell you how all along they were sceptical of the dog and pony show. Obama and Michelle will cash in on their perks and be free to return to their America hating buddies. The pendulum will swing back too far the other way and we will be graced with another self seving politician. Probably a Republican depending on how many Democrats go down with Obama’s sinking ship. One thing is for sure tho, America is big enough to survive this abomination.

There’s this pesky trait about reality. It’s real.
No matter what you do, no matter what you hope for, no matter what you dream or wish it could be, it doesn’t change. It is what it is.
And that means that there must come a day–it is inevitable–when reality asserts itself and delusions are shattered.
Most have only minor delusions that get shattered as they go through junior high. This shattering of delusions is call the maturation process, something you don’t find being completed in Liberals. There is a reason that those who switch parties once they get older almost always go from the Left to the Right. In fact, can anyone name a Conservative who ever converted to become a Socialist?
In any case, with Obama the delusions are piled higher and deeper than before. The result is that it becomes easier and easier for reality to assert herself. Those who experience a great delusion will be hit with reality more often and will have to justify things more often and all this takes a lot of work, something which leftists shun.
The result is that when the delusion can no longer be maintained because it’s too much effort, the backlash will, indeed, be proportional to the delusion.
I work in an office full of rabid Obamaheads and (no joke), they were debating what denomination of money his face would be on.
I couldn’t freakin’ believe it. So you don’t have to actually do anything or even serve one term now to get on currency?

Public mood is created by media and two things the media will NEVER do is:

2. Of course Cheney was running everything, at least for the first term.
3. Of course they made backroom deals with their pals at Halliburton, Enron, etc.

5. Of course torture was sanctioned at the highest levels.
6. Of course Valerie Plame was deliberately outed in retaliation for Joe Wilson’s op-ed debunking the yellowcake uranium story.

10. I’m not sure if this one counts as an “of course,” but I’ve long suspected that Bush has some sort of neurological disorder which worsened over the course of the past eight years. If you go back and look at clips from his days as governor, it’s almost shocking how articulate and quick he seems. I mean, yes, we can all chuckle, ha ha those wacky malapropisms, in the way that you might have had a good natured chuckle about Ronald Reagan’s absent mindedness, until years later when you realize with dawning horror that the man with his finger on the button probably had early stage Alzheimers. Bush was inarticulate eight years ago but these days he can barely string a sentence together.
11. And maybe an overall generic entry: of course the truth will turn out to be much, much worse than we ever suspected.

– Of course the White House emails were deliberately deleted.
– Of course more than two hundred thousand Iraqis were killed and more than a million displaced.
– Of course there were plans to suspend elections in the event of another terrorist attack.
