Waterboard Pelosi — Let’s Get to the Truth!

She bobbed and weaved. She danced the Paso Doble. It was a masterful exhibition of Terpsichore, with lovely grand jete’s, loop-de-loops and chicanery.
I haven’t seen such tap dancing since last year’s So You Think Ya Can Dance auditions.
Looking and sounding very shaky and rattled, she maintained that she had no idea the Enhanced Interview Techniques used on suspected terrorists to get vital life-saving information from them included waterboarding. Misremembering expertly, Ms. Pelosi said in her briefing, she was told that waterboarding techniques “were…not…being…employed.” (It apparently is a useful technique with politicians interested in convincing you of the sincerity and impeccable veracity of their statements …to…slow…down…and… …emphasize…each…word. As in, “I…did…not…have…sex…with that woman…Miss Lewinsky….”)
How…stupid…do…you…think…we…are?
In a strange tangent during the press conference, Ms. Pelosi alluded oddly to the ‘missing weapons of mass destruction’, and the former President’s ‘misleading the people’. She then went on to tell us that the CIA is lying to us now as to what she was and was not briefed upon.
Most thinking individuals assume she’s lying through her teeth. But she’s sticking to her story.
The most striking irony of the morning was this – to cap off her double-time-step, soft-shoe, dog-and-pony-show…Nancy Pelosi pressed for a ‘Truth Commission’ to get to the bottom of the whole waterboarding affair. Don’t you love it how, whenever a Democrat gets into hot water, covering up for glaring inconsistencies in their public statements, they seek the veil of a ‘truth commission’? To get to the bottom of it, dontcha know. (Read: Stack the commission with my cronies, surround myself with my fellow obfuscators, mix the whole thing up into a thick, gooey paste of disinformation, make all of the Democrats look brave, hard-working and noble; talk incessantly about how the Republicans are using the whole affair as a ‘diversion’ [I guess from their 'culpability']…and then blame the whole damn thing on Bush.)
Sounds less like ‘Change’ and more like business-as-usual.
But what is the real story? And how can we possibly find that out? Only one thing to do:
Waterboard Nancy Pelosi.
Let the truth be told! It’s only fair. The Obama administration touts itself as the ‘most transparent administration’ in our history. (I’m not sure ‘vacuous’ counts as transparent.) And the Grande Dame of the Congress herself, the first woman Speaker of the American House of Representatives in the history of man-and-womankind…Nancy Pelosi…has told the American public and the world that this administration, this Congress would be the most open, honest, and forthright government body the world has ever seen… or some such drivel.
But all intelligence, both military and otherwise, concurs – waterboarding is extremely effective in extracting truthful information from a person. It doesn’t disfigure (unlike Madame Pelosi’s plastic surgery-gone-dramatic); and waterboarding leaves no physical damage. No limbs or digits are lopped off, no eyes gouged out, no burn marks, no puncture wounds; no physical trauma results from its deployment. It induces psychological sensations of drowning. It is administered under a doctor’s supervision. Yes, by all accounts, it is extremely unpleasant. Very scary and mad uncomfortable. But the person undergoing it suffers no lasting ill effects. And yet it gets the truth out of people. So let’s get the truth out of Nancy Pelosi. What did she know about waterboarding and when did she know it? Her grace period for plausible deniability has long lapsed. Time to get to the bottom of it. Waterboard Nancy until she sings like an American Idol finalist.
But wait a second. I’m a gentleman. I don’t want to be seen as ‘beating up on the girl’. I will throw my hat into this exercise. I wouldn’t volunteer for real torture…but… I will volunteer to undergo waterboarding myself. That’s right, you read it, I said it. I will allow myself to be waterboarded. We’ll put it on TV. Beck, Hannity, Cavuto, (don’t think I’d trust Olbermann), or O’Reilly. Carried out by a few of our security forces, like normal. They can waterboard me until I talk. Until I tell the absolute truth: “Yes!!! Socialism is a really stupid, poopy, idea!!!!”
(I apologize for the word ‘poopy’…but hey I felt like I was drowning…)
It’s not torture. It’s a psychological illusion to very effectively ‘encourage’ people to give up information. The skillful use of it may very well have saved hundreds, perhaps thousands of innocent lives the three times it was used. Yeah, that’s right – to hear the Mainstream Media tell it, they’ve got Muslims lined up in Gitmo four-abreast doing combination babtism/waterboardings a hundred times a day to these poor, innocent Muslim men of peace. These innocent men…all of whom have sworn to kill us, tried to on the battlefield, and many having had succeeded. The fact is waterboarding has only been used three times. And in several of those instances, information was extracted that diverted major attacks upon U.S. citizens.
In fact, my 16-yr-old daughter thought the whole waterboarding-is-torture thing was so silly, that she and her friends got together last weekend and had a Marco-Polo-Waterboard Pool Party in our backyard. They had me put the diving board on hinges…and they invented this cool game…it goes like this…the person who is ‘it’ gets tied to the board, then dunked into the deep end, upside down, yelling Marco Polo (or gurgling, actually) …Then when the other swimmers dive down to the bottom…and find the…well…I don’t really remember all the rules, but they seemed to be having a great old time and played for hours. I’m pretty sure… Wait a second – I might have dreamt the whole pool party thing. Yyyeah…I’m pretty sure that was just a weird dream. We don’t even have a pool! Sorry – my bad.
But my point is this: Islamofascist nazi terrorists torture. And they usually aren’t interested in extracting information. They do it for amusement. They cut into skin, pull out fingernails, hook genitals up to car batteries, burn with acid, use propane torches, cut off fingers, and systematically break bones. Then they slowly decapitate the victim while he’s still alive.
We extract information that can be used to save innocent life. We waterboard. (Or used to.) The victim is held down. A cloth is placed over the face, and water is poured over it, giving the sensation of drowning. And tens of thousands of our own soldiers, sailors and Marines have gone through this as a part of their S.E.R.E. training. They all agree – it sucks. It’s no fun. But there is no lasting damage.
Until the Pussification of America is complete…while there is still a vestige of spine in this nation…we should not abandon waterboarding as an effective and yes, humane interrogation technique to keep this country safe!
So let’s go, let’s get to the truth. Somebody get Speaker Pelosi a bathing suit. I’m right behind her, but…

I seriously doubt anyone will be concerned over this faux issue once one American city gets vaporized. The issue then will be how often and how high we start bouncing rubble in the Middle East. Do we have one or two Ohio-class subs fire all their missiles? (24 missiles apiece with 6 thermonuclear warheads per missile. Do the math).

Does Ms. Speaker Pelosi really think that we are buying this story, well actually these stories? She started out "This is terrible and I was not briefed", then "This is terrible, well, I was briefed about a briefing", then "Well, I may have been briefed, but I was not paying attention", then "I was never briefed on 'waterboarding', but I was briefed on 'enhanced interrogation techniques'", then "It's that blasted CIA lying again about me not being briefed".

Oh, and speaking of the Mossad, these decisions to do some of this EIT did not solely involve OUR nation. I am reminded of that line in "Con-Air" where they are on the plane and, (sorry, I forget his name), turns to Nicolas Cage's character and says, "Define irony. A bunch of people on a plane dancing to the theme song of a band who died in a plane crash!" Or something like that was said. It was hilarious, especially while "Sweet Home Alabama" was playing in the background. At moments like this, I feel like we are on the same plane, and are surrounded by irony!

Frankly, I'm APPALLED that Mr. Graham would even suggest submitting the Speaker of the House to waterboarding, what with a drought in California and all.
Then again, a Chris Matthews tingle runs up my leg whenever I watch that YouTube video of Christopher Hitchens being waterboarded. Maybe Nancy would give it a shot, too…if only for the benefit of science. We could even keep it "Green" by using recycled toilet water.

You miss the point. Torture doesn't work. It might give your interrogators what they want to hear (John McCain: you'll say anything to make it stop), but it isn't reliable, as more and more people are coming forth to say.
You volunteering to undergo this 'harsh interrogation technique' is admirable, but probably only as likely as Hannity being called on his offer.
Neither of you are likely to give up any intelligence.

Before this I was a little more "understanding" thinking that this was normal procedure on all terrorists but finding out this is a rarely used yet effective tactic really makes me ticked off at them pitching fits about nothing. The truth should out. Ms Pelosi should be held to the truth. She has worked tirelessly to defame the Bush administration in her partisan political game of 'gotcha!' In this case it would be insane to allow Ms Pelosi to cast the CIA as the 'villian' in her attempt to try past governments in the court of public opinion to cover her lies. She personifies partisan politics at its worst. Unfortunately, with all the press 'waterboarding' has received, I imagine its use as a effective technique for extracting information has been compromised. They outed the designers, they outed the technique, I'm all for removing the 'illusory' nature of the process if it saves American lives.
This shows once again how low some have fallen. The Dems made the policies of the Bush Administration seem to be criminal activities in the name of Political Advantage. One can disagre with policies and not sink to the level that the Dems have. Now the very tactics used to gain Political advantage have come back to bite them on the A**. Pelosi and her ilk have reaped the rewards and now the consequences. I hope this story keeps getting some legs and keeps coming back. The American People as a whole will finally realise how they have been used and the push back will be a thing of beauty.

Who knew about "enhanced interrogation techniques," and what information was supposedly gained (and remember, we have to take the word of the technique's proponents that it is indeed saving us from these awful fates), is not the point. To make that the point is to replace "right" with "expedience." Nor does it matter whether or not some Washington lawyer, or whether or not some treaty, or whether or not current law deems it torture. To allow others to tell you what is and is not torture is to give your sensibilities up to authority.
My grandparents knew what was and was not torture. They sent Japanese officers up the river for waterboarding. I also know what is and is not torture. I don't need some Washington lawyer or pundit to tell me the difference. Not only is torture not necessary to win against the evil forces arrayed against us, but doing so guarantees that evil has indeed won.

Yes I've heard the music for a while now to… it drives me crazy that people won't recognize what is happening in front of us. I'm not sure what the total number of Islamo Fascist prisoners is but if only 3 out of all of them got water boarded I'm pretty sure that means that they know who has the information that they want. Enhanced Interrogation Techniques works. ya ya ya you might get bad information as well but from all accounts that isn't the case. It was effective and produced actionable intelligence to stop another 9/11.

I don't understand why anyone would suggest that we take this strong, empowered, sexy woman and damage her mind and beautiful face by dripping water all over her. We as Americans should not condone exposing anyone, especially an honest and upright breath of fresh air like Ms. Pelosi, to such profound measures. Remember, Houdini died because of a similar experience, at least in the films. Be a real American, like me, and stand up for LIBERTY. And while we are standing, we can stand together against this heinous proposal, and against water boarding, and water in general. We should also take a stand against boards, which are used in water boarding. We should consider legislating that any type of board, like the ironing-, skate-, surf-, and advisory board, be submitted to the authorities so that the option for Americans to combine these boards with water does not even exist.

As many of us know, real humor can be biting, but still has a grain of truth to it. Anyone paying attention to what has developed over the past 4-6 years knows Pelosi has sold out our military time and time again. I am not in the military, but my Dad was a Marine. The enemy as we know from Vietnam can live both at home, and in the jungle. And in the case as of late; in the desert. To deny the truthisms in what Feherty said is wrong. Not only that, but pc speak has got to go! Bad joke, good joke, or reality has got to be allowed. They have allowed some serious not funny for years at these press roasts in D.C. I give you Colbert!
On the other hand, no one wishes ill will towards any American on the level of certain death, and to suggest even slightly that our military would casually treat life in a cavalier manner is not true, but I am sure Feherty was NOT speaking of our military in such a manner. What outrages me is the lack of close examination of what he actually said in what was suggested, and in addition, what if he was right? What if the military does feel betrayed, and does he not have some idea about crazy government in that he grew up in North Ireland? People speak in realms of life experience and he has also spent quite some time with our forces in the Middle East.

FYI, guys, there is a procedure for congessional approval under the War Powers Act and the Intel Reform Act, clarified by the Campbell vs Clinton decision (the only court precedent), which the lefties never appealed. Our former VP has stated the procedure was followed. Under the procedure, the white house makes timely filings, answers questions and must put actions on hold if the committee LEADERSHIP objects. The commitee acts under the rules of congess, with consensus powers and LEADERSHIP powers to hold hearings or not, secure facts (briefings) or not and formal votes or not. A FILED ACTION IS APPROVED IF IT IS NOT OBJECTED TO TIMELY. Any member (like Harmon) can send a letter asking questions, and need only notify leadership that they are asking a question. A LETTER SIGNED BY EITHER RANKING LEADERSHIP IS NOT ONLY A QUESTION, IT IS A HOLD. That is why Pelosi did not sign Harmon's letter. (I apologise for the caps; my underliner thingee is not obeying me).
And thank God Cheney stood up for it or else you might not be here bitching about it. lol

You do realize Khalid Sheik Mohammed cracked after being waterboarded? Zubaydah started singing after 35 seconds [information that could be verified]. You do realize that more credible information has been gathered by waterboarding than all other techniques from all agencies combined.

Just as an aside — when Pelosi (may she live long, but not necessarily prosper) finally dies, and is laid out in her casket for viewing, most people's reaction will be that she looks — surprised.

I disagree with the premise of the argument. Waterboarding is not torture. It does not maim, injure or disfigure its subject. It doesn't even cause physical pain. One of my buddies who was an intel Marine was waterboarded in training-until he was UNCONCIOUS.
