Everybody Lay Off Dave Konig!
by Gary GrahamI like him. He’s nice guy (or so I’ve heard). If you’re irritated at him defending Tom Shillue defending Janeane Garofalo, you’re just going to have to take my word for it. (Or at least the guy’s word who told me Konig was a nice guy.)
Dave posted a column defending Tom defending Janeane and I just wanted to say there’s merit to go around for everybody! I don’t know what the big deal is, us right wing extremists being tagged as racists. I’ve already admitted I’m a racist coward!
I used to be a liberal. But I realized in the end…that I’m just not cool enough to be a Lefty. I’m squaresville. Boring. Traditional values, God, honor, country. Oh sure, I do speak a little French. (But my poker buddies don’t know, and please don’t tell them.) I was privileged to have spoken at a Tea Party rally April 15, being the opening ‘act’ to Andrew Breitbart, who rallied the troops and fomented excitement and patriotism. But now that Ms. Garofalo has pointed out our insidious ulterior motives to me, I now see her point. Not once was race even brought up! No one mentioned the vaguest reference to race in any manner. And there lies the rub, dear friends:
Nobody talked boldly about race the entire day.
Thus proving Garfalo’s point (and buttressing Eric Holder’s: Anyone who is a Tea Party attending right wing extremist and doesn’t talk boldly and unceasingly about race…is…well, a racist.
“The debate…is over.” – A. Gore
So we need to cut Dave some slack in defending Tom defending Janeane. Anyway, she’s got tattoos…and hey, what’s cooler than that? I’m thinking about having a few put on myself…one arm done with a mural of, I don’t know, something subtle, like…Dante’s Inferno. And I mean, the whole novel, man! And maybe Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel on my belly. God and Adam touching fingers on my naval. And a game of Pac-Man on my back, level seven. And SpongeBob SquarePants on my butt.
But enough about my butt (I know, ttsssh!, what a narcissist, huh?). Back to Dave.
Dave is a very nice man, loves his family and is a wonderfully funny guy — as I’ve said before, when mentioning the guy who told me that he was. But the guy who told me he was funny is a very reliable guy; and I have absolutely no reason to doubt his sincerity, and therefore we should all go out and buy Dave’s comedy CD. Oh, wait, do they even sell CD’s in stores now? Isn’t it all this download thingy? Okay, everybody go onto Itunes and download Dave’s and Tom’s and Janeane’s stuff…whatever it is. Just enter your card number and hit “buy everything.” (Oh yeah and buy my book too.)
I hope I’ve been helpful, and not just self-serving, self-possessed, self-aggrandizing and in other ways…selfish. But then, what would you expect from a racist coward right wing extremist with no tats?
Rats.

oh man… why can't I get the dang hyperlinks done correctly??
I need a bailout!!!!
It's not really a *running* gag. It's sort of moseying.
Get in line!!!!
Wait a minute…posted "11 hours ago"?
SHENANIGANS!
HAHAHAHAHA! This is hilarious. Real tears forming, laughing so hard I am crying. OMG! HA!
Someone on my site said she was a regular "24" viewer, but now when Garofalo comes on the screen she finds it difficult to watch. That's what inserting one's inane, or even insane, politics does. It shatters the wall between artist and consumer.
I chuckled just reading the headline. It's becoming a parody of itself (which I participated in). I haven't changed my mind but I've said all I want to. For now anyway.
NOTICE: The above party to the first part (USArtboy) reserves the right to ignore his own advice and dive headlong into another debate if parties of the second part (defenders of Garafolo) don't want to mutually give it a rest. Limited time offer. Void where prohibited. Have a nice day, it's my birthday, I will.
These "Lay Off" posts make me want to say something:
-clears throat-
Rap sucks!
Since when did defacing the human body elevate itself to the arbiter of cool? Back in the day, one got a tattoo when one was, say inebriated in a port of call like Subic Bay, or DaNang or Bangkok. It would be small, and it meant something- a bond, a brand for those who served.
Now the body 'art' on commie midget Jeanine Garofalo is somehow cool? – Please… Mr Graham is obviously too smart to have stayed liberal. As Winston Churchill once said: "Show me a man who is 20 and not liberal and I will show you a man without a heart. Show me a man who is 40 and not a conservative and I will show you a man without a brain".
Words to live by…
Geez Gary…I’m starting to get a “man crush” on you fellah. (And please, don’t tell the lady’s in my knitting circle.)
Sing it…sing it out to the unwashed masses buddy.
Your friendly neighborhood “Ring Wing Radical Extremist”
Lil’ ol’ me.
Not Over.
Ha, ha, ha! Extra point for that you glutton for punishment.
For the win!!
For you Gary…only because you rock!!!!
Ha! Tag – you're it!
What Tracey said
"Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let
virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God"
As much as I despise her, you are right Gary. Dave and Tom are taking the high road and exhibiting a degree
of Charity towards Garafalo.
Thanks for the gentle reminder !!!!!!!!!
Gary, you shut up!
No!
You shut up!
HA!!! This is great, I love it!
… and how about the colossal NERVE of these right wing racists to not talk about race. Those B@ST@RDS! How low can they GO?
I never "laid on" anybody. I was going to add my 2 cents in on Shillue's post but by the time I scrolled through the 200 ass-handing comments I felt bad for him and just thanked him for the post and told him he seemed like a cool guy. But I say we try to turn these "Lay Off" posts into a vicious cycle that goes on until Breitbart or Nolte come down here and tells us to break it up.
I thought Radical Right Wing Extremist meant 'one who pays their taxes, on time, and does not cheat or lie about cheating after getting caught cheating on taxes'.
What's up with skin game? If skin is tattooed then what color is the skin of such race? Is that the rainbow race, or what?
*snerk*
Gary's easy on the eyes. There's my contribution.
Yes! That is a very good way to describe it. Hard to watch someone play a role on a show when they have done something to offend you. I had a hard time watching the episode of House (two – three week old so hope this isn't a spoiler) where Kutner kills himself. I had ZERO sympathy for the character and had a hard time trying to be interested in the story because I knew this whole thing was just basically thrown in there to write the actor (Penn) out of the show so he could go make nice with Obama. Now when people act like his death (in the show) is effecting them I feel like "so what" and just want them to move the show forward and forget Penn was ever there.
EDIT: I have not really followed Kal Penn's off screen actions and I've only really heard of the GITMO movie. I'm not putting him in the same category as Garofalo… I just know he left acting to work for Obama and that is telling enough to know he messed up the show for a short time for me.
Hell no Gary, take no prisoners, ha! This is becoming like the old Abbot & Costello routine, who’s on first? I don’t speak for all conservatives, but for me leaving the left to their vile literal and verbal rape of America, is un-cool, FTS! JG and her ilk is like showing red to a bull. That being said, I thoroughly enjoy most of the thought provoking writers on BH, you win some you lose some!
While you are praying for Janeane, pray for the person known as Perez Hilton. It seems to me that both of these people really are dealing with a lot of anger issues and I would not want to be in either of their skins, tattooed or not.
Okay you win! I will never mention or watch Janeane G…….. as long as I live. Are you all happy now??? ;-P
I think we should just lay off of everybody – Celebutards, Congressmen (and womyn), Senators (and Senatyrs) and I think we should especially lay off Pres. B. H. O. No one should be surprised that these big government bureaucrats led by the big government president are making (shockingly) Big Government.
So lay off these Leftitst & socialists & marxists & whatnot. They're just doing what they always do. Stop with the T.E.A. Parties. Stop with the reading about the Constitution. Just mumble quietly into your hat, "Oh, there they go again." Then sit down, shut up, pay your taxes and be satisfied with what you got.
On the other hand …
Guys, lay off Gary for defending Dave for defending Tom for defending Jeneane.
I've heard he's a great guy and has an awesome tattoo of the Achilles war robot from Robot Jox on his left shoulder.

All right…. everybody stop taunting Gary, who's defending Dave, who's defending Tom, who's defending Janeane, who has absolutely no defense. She chose her words and her public personae. Moreover, this resembles a ponzi scheme for defendants. Thanks to her warm and fuzzy attitude and feel good demeanor, she is killing 24 – her career is like plutonium.
Is this becoming one of those lame Hollywood franchises? Love it!
Okay, Tom, Dave and Gary. I give up. So, in order to bring this lame Hollywood franchise to a merciful end, let's just call Janeane Garofalo a douchebag and be done with it.
That's my right wing extremist sit-down comedy routine. I tried stand up, but they always told me to sit down.
Perez……is that pronounced Paris? I'm confused……
"I used to be a liberal. But I realized in the end…"
must. stopping. thinking. about. anderson. cooper. in the end, indeed!
Excellent, you're joining the dark side. . . You've taken your first steps into a large world of evil.
In all seriousness…
I personally do not want these people to shut up, ever. Debate is what people do. I want debate!
The problem is, EVERY TIME the argument slides in our favor, the other person runs to the "racist, sexist, homophobe" mantra.
Does Garofolo require defense? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you say something twerpy, you need to be ready to defend your twerp position. She never speaks on her particular brand of twerp, just blows on by it and tells you why your wrong for not agreeing on her twerp, usually using the "silly three" I just mentioned in the previous paragraph.
Does she have the right to speak? Hell yes! At least until PBHO ensures we all have to speak like her. But does she have to publicly defend her speech, without resorting to statist lib tripe? Hell, yes! Should anyone defend her?
I have a better idea. Let her defend herself for once. Garofolo needs to stand up for her own twerp. Otherwise its wasted breath, and should be treated so.
I think I like this second sequel better than the first sequel or the original. But I'm not tuning in if somebody does:
Lay Off the Defenders of Garafolo IV: In 3-D
I was thinking the same thing. Problem is, her fingers would ignite on the keyboard posting anything close to coherent on such an evil conservative minded blog. Perish the thought.
the Funny thing is if Jan actually believed half the crap that spews from her pie hole she wouldn't be cashing FOX's checks for being on a show like "24"! I mean with all her principles how can she possibly make it through the day on set?
……said Gary Graham, tongue planted firmly in cheek. Good one GG, and Konig gets big applause at this end for his volunteering for the NY State Guard in the wake of 9/11. But like most of us the past 2 days, I am firm in my willingness to verbally stomp and physically confront (given the chance) any member of Obammy and the Libutards when they put on their intellectual poseur costumes and try to propagate the lie that the Party-ites and Conservatives are racists. No quarter given here.
If you ask me to Gary I will. But only because you asked. Well, that and because someone you know told you Dave is a good guy. Can't dispute logic like that.
Gary, I don't think you're being sincere. I've heard that you wear a designer hair shirt.
Blah Blah Blah
i will say whatever i want, whenever i want…fo, janeane!
Dom!
The NY State Guard continues to be a very rewarding way to help augment the National Guard (with the added bonus that it has nothing to do with show business). Anyone interested can find out more here:
http://newyorkguard.org/
And for you left coasters, the California Military Reserve does good work too.
*groan* Here we go with the tattoos again. What is it with you people? :p

Mr. Graham, if this keeps up these sadists er nurses are going to take away my laptop. Very nice sir.
son of the night of the return of the living dead part VI: this time it's personal?
i think we all secretly want one except for the having to choose a permenant design. That is a tough decision. Now if they came up with changeable tata like the ols swatch watch that might be something.
Tom, Dave, and now Gary, your not funny and your blogs are lame. Go away. Please!!! I really miss Ron Silver…
If you want to defend Dave Konig, perhaps you should use a more flattering picture of him for your article. That's just mean.

OK everyone – lay off Gary – for defending Dave – who was only defending Tom – who was only defending Janeane….
You were all warned! I told you what would happen if I ever again heard the name or saw the picture of G-Beast666 on Big Hollywood. I have now put my troops into the field. Don't look back, Graham, something is gaining on you. This is war–and I have given specific orders: "Take no prisoners!"
Well in the era of lazer tat removals, nothing is permanent. And you can get them covered over which, in essence, makes them changeable. lol But for most people with tattoos, each one has some sort of significance. Sure, there are those that are just into the "fad' thing and get generic stencil tattoos, but most of us that are into body modification and have multiples, each is custom designed and has special meaning.
I just find it really sad when people judge others on the basis of their appearance, or use some part of their appearance to degrade them. It just really belittles the person doing the judging, imo.
You had me right up until, (Oh yeah and buy my book too) then you became just another shameless huckster.
You can chalk it up to youthful naivete if you want to, but not all tattoos are evil. I got one of 1 Cor. 13:7&13 in the original Greek (Love always endures, always believes always hopes, always stands firm. But now these three things remain; faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love.) on my chest when I was 21. It was the summer after my first fiancée broke up with me, and I put it there as a statement that despite the fact my heart had been broken, it wouldn't keep me from loving again. That and the fact that Christ's love endured for me and got me through some very tough times.
I've also seen a dude sport one that took up most of his forearm. A big ol' piece that said, "We, the people…" in exactly the same font style as it's seen on the Declaration.
Mine is fairly modest, and unless I'm out and about with my shirt off, you would never see it. But just because a person has a tattoo (or several) doesn't mean that person (or their tattoos) can't be conservative. Peace.

Janeane sure knows how to get publicity!
You're putting your troops into the field? Troops from San Francisco? At least they should be easy to spot.
No shiite
Gary Graham:
19th guy to say "I am Spartacus!"
You guys all missed the golden ring here.
The title you all SHOULD have co-opted was
"The Case For Punching Janeane Garbagebuffallo In The Face".
Revenge of the Lay Off the Defenders of Garafolo VII: A New Hope
Ok, enough already JG is not worth the time. She is not worth a dime. Lets get back to dealing with serious issues with lots of humor.
Hey Gary have you heard the joke about Obama. He had a cabinet meeting the other day and asked to cut 100 million dollars out of the budget. Rahm replied thats to much to cut. Gibbs said from where he comes from 100 mill is a lot of money. Obama replied back and said for every one to move on and not tell Soros 100 mill is a lot of money because he needs to hit him up for a lot more than that to get re-elected.
Ok I'll leave the funny stuff for the pros on this site.
Perhaps you're kinda sweet on Janeane, huh big guy? You gotta quit wearing Bill Clinton's glasses.
no ever said them to be evil; as we said earlier there were times when such adornment seemed appropriate- and your's no doubt was. Yes, there are right wing sleeves ou there- you will see them in the military- still, it;s advocating the act itself, as if just getting one makes you somehow cool that is just silly…
well i'm into scarring.
the prepackaged ubiquitous tattoos are just stupid. The plumber crack tramp stamp has become like a uniform. If people put some thought into the long term viability of the design and placement it would go a long way to helping the tattoo opponents come around. That said, my decision not to get one is my form of protest. It is kind of the Michael Keaton approach. If you are rebelling against hippies, you become a Nixonite. Same thing for me. I protest agains the flippant nature of most tattoos of by choosing not to get one.
Sarcasm is completely lost on you isn't it?
I'm lost…who is defending who now?
Will this be like the 'Circle of Life', where eventually JG posts here telling us to lay off Gary Graham?
I refuse to touch "Janeane's stuff" on general principle.
You know, the desire to live without my skin melting off.
Got ya!
Tramp stamps crack me up because what those 20somethings don't realize is that their tramp stamp will eventually become a hag tag. lol I personally don't care much for them because, again, they tend to be the generic flash designs rather than something meaningful.
Scarring can be nice if done well, the problem there is finding someone who knows what they are doing. Anyone with a tattoo gun, a flash design, and a stick of deodorant can do a tattoo, but scarrification takes a huge amount of trust and a lot more knowledge.
Gary,
I listened to Andrew Breitbart last night. He made an excellent point. We lost a lot of ground by staying silent, polite, civil, when faced with uncivil behavior; beholden to our ideals of high debate and discussion. No more! We need to be outraged at these gross misrepresentations. So I certainly will not lay off Janeane's bigotry. And for yourself, Dave, and Tom, I suggest that you treat Jeneane like a bigot deserves to be treated, not make excuses for it. I offer this, take her statements and substitute any other minority group for "conservative/republican" (just pick a random race/religion/gender) and you will see how intolerable this type of statement is and ask yourself. "if this was said about group XXXX, would I be defending how nice she is, or repudiating her for being dangerously ignorant and close minded"
So are you people trying to get me fired. Stop with the witty/funny remarks. I am hurting my face from trying not to laugh too hard. On second thought, keep up the good work…LOL!
Lol! Well, he didn't specify what kind of troops. Perhaps he meant troupe (as in dance)? They should be a distraction if nothing else.
So he's sending out his troupes. Suddenly, I'm not so concerned.
Lay off the rap!
Dr. Sanity shows why you need to fight the garofalidiots…
http://drsanity.blogspot.com/2009/04/poliitical-l...
You forget that I have connections and deep roots in Ventura and Kern Counties. Gun country! San Francisco is just my cover.
You've never seen the true anger of the balletiste. It is a frightening sight. And they know how to be a fast-moving target. Yuck it up, guys.
Everybody lay off Gary Graham. He's a nice guy. And he makes a pretty good cracker.
Everybody lay off the Lefties and the Righties. It's those middle-of-the-damn-road morons' turn in the barrel. They got it coming and they're overdue. Garofalo em, bro. A little Garofellatio will set em right.
And we have cookies too!
Unfortunately no pie. We really need to get a better class of troll around here, those guys are such slackers.
Actually, being a moderately tattoo covered conservative myself, I was thinking about Gary's idea for a Sponge Bob tattoo. It would give me extra points in the eyes of my three year old. Of course it would give me negative points with him once he reaches his teens.
Jesse Ventura probably has a few guns, and he's not really busy right now either.

I Am Spartacus.. cool, I always wanted to be 20th at something.
I just have to point out that everyone who is so obsessed with JG right now… No one can look down on you unless you first look up to them. Keep that in mind.
Remember when actors and actresses made movies, comedians said stuff that was funny and Pluto was a planet?
Oh believe me. I don't want to see an angry pirouette.
Cool. I mis-interpreted your comment to mean that the act of getting a tattoo (any tattoo) in and of itself was stupid and the only reason a person would get one is because they are stupid or desperately trying to cop to some trendy fad.
No doubt that some people who have tattoos fall into that category, but having one myself and talking to others who have gotten one, it seems by and large that most people are very thoughtful about what they get and where they place it, as it has some significance. So when it comes to the issue of tattoos, I try not to assume that some people got them done 'just because,' because I don't want someone looking at mine and assuming I got mine done 'just because.'
Wait'll ya see a tour-of-duty-jete.
Having said all of that… I believe that moderation is the key and that less really is more. Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure each of Kat Von D's tattoos have significance and meaning, but I don't particularly find her attractive. In my personal opinion, I think she would look a lot better with less body art, but that's just me.
Birthday cake?
Now birthday cake I can set you up with myself, I know a guy who knows a guy. Happy birthday too!
Happy birthday to you.
J. lives in a zoo.
She looks like a monkey—-
and smells like one too.
For your birthday, I allowed myself one last mention of the G-Beast666.
You take the high road, and I'll take the low road, and I'll get to Jeanie before you. Bagpipes, please.
