Henson was my fave. But that was back when the show was even cheaper, and when they restricted themselves to reviewing talk shows. McHale benefits from covering news, talk, reality, etc. Plus, he seems to have more and better writers. But I still like Henson.

The dude over on VH1's "Best Week Ever" is alright, but the show as a whole irks me. Soup is much tastier.

While Olby has been a guest on the show twice, what makes "The Soup" work for conservatives is that if the show was to truly adopt the MSNBC-Olbermann-Maddow mindset, it would have virtually nothing to make fun of except for clips from EWTN or the 700 Club in its mandated spot on the ABC Family Channel.

You can't do this show and take a stereotypical liberal mindset, because to do that would assume that all the dysfunctional people highlighted on the show are just as good as everyone else, and to ridicule them for their lifestyles or beliefs would be wrong, or even bordering on a hate crime in the Carrie Prejean style (McHale's political beliefs would certainly put him on the other side from Prejean, but his show would have no reason to exist if he and the writers didn't realize how lampoonable Perez Hilton and many of the other flamboyant/militant supporters of "alternative lifestyles" are).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Soup. It is fantastic television. Period. I would never sit through 95% of those shows either, but delight in seeing the clips mocked. McHale is awesome.
