Pattiann: I'd know you anywhere. I simply appreciated your giving me the opportunity to point out that the Democrats aren't sitting nearly as pretty as their 60 votes would indicate. Always a pleasure to follow you.

I am not a conspiracy theorist. I don't think there are dangerous cabals meeting in back rooms, twirling black mustaches and smoking big cigars who are planning on eliminating 75% of the world's population (for whatever reason). I don't think we need "one-world-government" conspiracies to get where we are. However:

<a href="http://www.climatedepot.com/a/1893/Gore-US-Climate-Bill-Will-Help-Bring-About-Global-Governance" target="_blank">http://www.climatedepot.com/a/1893/Gore-US-Climat...</a>

It is not a conspiracy, traditionally. It IS a conspiracy of ideology, so to speak. And it comes from the left and right. These groups both have reasons to support "increasing global governmental integration." Both sides, I believe, do this out of a naive belief that what they are doing is for the betterment of mankind.

The left, more progressed in its egocentric beliefs, simply thinks that most people don't know what's best for themselves and need to be saved from themselves by superior intellects (namely, those on the left). The "god-like" wisdom of the experts and those in the know will save our selfishness.

On the right, there is increased economic integration which requires more governmental integration. They believe that economics is the predominating factor in all decisions and material well-being for as many as possible is the sole issue to be decided in each situation.

Ironically, though these positions have functional differences, the end result is very similar. Thus, there is a conflagration of ideologies that results in a *seemingly* lock-step conspiracy. That is why we have Al Gore saying what he's saying. He honestly believes that we, as human beings, will be better off if we just listen to him (the leftist god-syndrome). Conservative economists arrogantly think that many little people just don't understand the need for economic integration so that we can all get the new car we want (thus we have the op-ed page of the WSJ supporting blanket amnesty).

Either way, depending on what you find important, these two approaches to the same goal can be threatening. Me? Doesn't matter either way. It won't changed what I, personally, believe is important. However, living in the world as I must, I can't help be want to fight such tendencies.

Typical of the intelligent elite. Let's commission an expensive drawn out study to determine what we little people think instead of just listening to us in the first place.
