(Not the people who really work hard here like the drivers, grips, electricians, greensman, editors, carpenters, etc. – just us so very important ‘Stars’)
- on what YOU the World – can do to save our planet: (Listen up you nasty smelly little flyover stalker freaks.)

1. Conserve Water!
(Don’t you dare water your 40′ x 100′ lawn. Let it go brown. We’ll keep swimming in our 3 pools, The infinity one in Malibu, and the two at the compound in Palm Springs.)
2. Airplanes are the grossest polluters. Fight Climate Change, take the bus, or ride your bike!
(All you little people, not us right now – we’re too busy with our awesome important star stuff, and we have a very important film festival to attend in a foreign country that mostly hates the U.S. and we just don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to knock America and Americans. P.S. the film is about Climate change, so it is very important we get there fast with our very snobby entourage.)
It’s high time we fix the earth for our children and our children’s children.
(Or my carpet-pooping maid-humping misbehaving half-assed show dog that is really like uh… my kid.)
We all need to change the way we live and CONSERVE NOW!
(You conserve, so WE can have our large mansion, with armed bodyguards, payed for by the most wasteful business on the planet that includes a private trailer on the back lot, with a carbon monoxide chugging gas-guzzle powered generator, long tables of uneaten food, climate controlled tents for lounging with our hanger-on loser friends in between shots that are cooled by A/C that’s powered by 4 honkin’ assed semis with cranking megawatt oop-dee-boop generators, then private Jetting to our mansion in East Hampton that sits empty three fourths of the year although being heated and cooled constantly, and of course our Jet-off lunch trysts in San Fran, Aspen, and sometimes just for kicks oh so FUNKY-FUNKY Mexico City, then jetting back to Van Nuys, jumping in the gas slugging super stretch and speeding – (not signaling at all) and cutting everyone off on the 101 so as to get back to Universal in time for our masseuses who we won’t tip at all.)
THE TIME IS NOW TO REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT!
(You go first, as I am not a loser like you and can be excused from conserving, because the purpose of my life is to help all of you turds learn to respect the elite and powerfuls’ message of political peace and green global harmony.)
THIS IS EVERYONE’S PROBLEM, NO MATTER WHAT POLITICAL AFFILIATION, RACE CREED, GENDER, OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION.
(As long as you are not Conservative or Libertarian and be so insane as to oppose our idea of what we know constitutes an intelligent person. You’d better fit exactly into the box we want to put you in, ie: no gay conservatives, African American conservatives, artist conservatives, musician conservatives etc. because those fakers are shamefully wrongheaded, and just so very freakin’ unfashionable. …. Wait a sec, what the hell is a Libertarian anyway? )

Hollywood Hypocrites: Pretending to care, one meaningless gesture at a time.
Is the reason the lady hollywoodites buy so many bags is that once their little toy pretend dogs
poop in the bag they then must toss it? Some one had recently purchased 200 or so expensive bags.
Seems to me she was a greener as well so no mention of overindulgence.
I well add her name as soon as someone reminds me or I can think of who she was.
Sounds like a politician to me. I guess they both have something in common. They are FAKES with no morals.
Barbra Streisand instructed us rubes to get rid of our driers and air dry our clothes. Hold that thought.

Hollywood, just shut up, look pretty, and let the rest of us make a living.
I don't take environmental advice from rubes who are good at reading other people's words and not much else.
George Clooney's hair and makeup have more of a carbon foot print than my entire household.
Do you know what kind of farookin' fat carbon footprint the wine-making industry creates? And the distillation of alcohol? I'll reduce my so-called "carbon" footprint when Hollywood gives up its wine and booze.
Yeah. Didn't think so.
No, really, after you.
How about athletes with big homes+pools? CEO's? Rich republicans?Shouldn't everyone in Socal conserve water? We are in the middle of a drought.
Maybe you all should, but the point is that the ones who pontificate about it the loudest are the very last ones who will.
Do you think the Pay Czar will limit the pay of the Hollywood elite? Me either.
Funny. This is just about what I was telling Robert Englund yesterday in the comments to his little paen to climate change.
You know, they don't have to wait for legislation to cut their carbon footprint. They're free to start now and tell the rest of us how it is?
Ernie. It would be funny if it weren't true.
(Not the people who really work hard here like the drivers, grips, electricians, greensman, editors, carpenters, etc. – just us so very important ‘Stars’)
Don't know how all you folks do it but something has to pay the mortgage. Right? I mean. How surprising that more hard-working industry spokes don't "go postal" on some of the 'Stars'. I couldn't tow-the-line.
Seriously. The site posts some version of this article every week. You recycle more than the lefties you despise!!
"Dematerialization: How On-demand Movies Fight Climate Change"

I get so tired of the "conserve water" crap. Water is a very local issue. I live in an area that gets plenty of rainfall, so I don't really need to conserve water, and even if I did, it's not going to relieve California of drought conditions, and it certainly isn't going to save the planet.
Oh, and the water shortage, like energy prices and medical costs, is the result of liberal judges shaking down the productive. In the case of water for SoCal (and now the San Joachin Valley too) it's men in black robes giving precedence to the Delta Smelt. Oil and other energy costs – because they won't let us drill. Medicine, tort insanity. It is the Mafia at work, a national shakedown that's been growing into a monster for the last 30 years.
Wouldn't that constitute a hazmat incident?? The whole dog poop in landfill stuff….anyway. Can't think of her name. Don't really keep up with what the loons are doing in Hollywood. I"m in theatre here in Seattle. I have my hands full enough.
Yeah but we can dream can't we?
I'll believe in a water shortage in SoCal, when I drive to work in the morning on the PCH and don't see the brain dead owners of the multi-million dollar homes along the beach in Malibu, hosing down their driveways and sidewalks every morning. I didn't know driveways and sidewalks needed water to grow!
I'll believe in global warming, excuse me, global climate change, when Hollywood performers are on a street corner doing their performances for change, without the lights, the soundstages, the stadiums, the recording studios and the Al Gore like mansions, castles, villas, that have utility bills that are far more per month than the average American makes in a year. Oh and I forgot, their jetting all over the world to pat each other on the back with so many award shows it's really hard to keep track. Dictionary definition of Hypocrisy: See Hollywood.
Wow , you guys don't believe that there is a water shortage in Southern California. And even if there is , it doesn't matter , because until liberal actors stop being hypocrites there's no reason to do anything about it. Right? Have I summarized your insane viewpoint correctly?
Message from the Stars:
"Rules are for thee, but not for me."
My understanding is that part of the water problem in this State is that the environmentalists are too busy trying to save some stupid one inch fish and making farmers go out of business. And not just BIG farmers, but family farms as well. Also, apparently we have some weird riparian rights and laws in this state and while I'm sure there is a drought of some sort, certain areas wouldn't be having as much of a problem if those laws made more sense.
By the same token, in a way, yes, palmtree, I'm tired of hearing these Hollywood actors tell me how to live MY life, when they don't practice what they preach (well, except for Ed Begley Jr, and I can respect him even if I think he's a little kooky; though he was funny on Gary Unmarried).
So it's not like no one wants to do anything about it, it's just that we don't need to hear sanctimonious Hollywood actors giving us their opinion on it, since they're not doing anything about it for sure, while the rest of us probably are.
What you could do is find some information that would refute what the author wrote – are any of these actors actually doing something personally about the drought or their beloved climate change. It's hard to take them seriously when they fly to environmental summits on personal jets. It's hard to take Gore seriously no matter what, but certainly difficult when he has a carbon footprint bigger than hundreds of American homes put together.
It's called hypocrisy.
Clear it up any, skippy?
I must respond here as your reply to my handbags and hand held doggies question has not appeared
on my screen yet. Only Bill Gates can answer why, hey, you are in Seattle maybe you can ask him for me Hmm?
No I guess not. I am down the street from you in Portland and as you know the Great liberal Northwest is becoming so green we smell all minty and chlorophyllish. I believe we have enough carbon credits to
cover the dog pooped hand bags. By the way I both envy and glad I'm not you in the same sentence.
The closest I get to show business is this blog. While not knowing the extent of your participation you tell me when I will see you on either in front or behind my neighborhood movie screen. Look forward to it.
Saudi Arabia averages 4 inches of rain per year. The people living there (currently estimated at close to 30 million) have been in a drought for the past, oh, three thousand years or so. Since they don't have a huge mountain snow-fed fresh water river on their eastern border, the people of Saudi Arabia rely on around 4,000 desalination facilities along their coastline for the millions of gallons of drinking water required by their citizens.
Why won't California build these facilities? Costs. And the fact that hardcore environmentalists will complain about desalination plants ruining pristine habitats for sealife.
Don't forget the possibility of intruding on the scenery in Malibu. Fat chance of putting one there.
How did the Kennedy's and others react to the idea of windmills in their sailing and scenic areas.
I believe if there is any they must be so far out to sea so they are not seen from the coast line.
Yes and Cheryl Crowe can (insert cough) keep using her 'one sheet of toilet paper'…anybody believes that I have a bridge in the Atlantic I will sell you! I am so sick of these Hollywood idiots thinking they know so much more, and are so much better than the rest of us…maybe when I see Hollywood getting skinnier and not fatter and they are ALL riding bicycles…Nah..I will still do what I want!!
If all those Greenies out there were like Ed Begley, a guy who really does sacrifice to save the planet, he rides a bike wherever he goes, lives in a modest little house and never buys new home furnishings unless something can no longer be repaired. A guy who turned his only little "perk", his lovely little lawn into a garden for growing food because he couldn't see wasting water on growing something that was just there "for show'" those hollywood people could actually BE leaders of the green movement. But the way they are, these hogs with a half dozen homes who won't make even one sacrifice other than to order theiir servents to separate glass from plastic, wel geez, these people need knocked upside their heads with empty wallets. Theonly way to get to these people is through a boycott of their films. We can bring the days of Box Office poison back if we chose to. Afteral, we buy the tickets. Hollywood's subject to four obvious things. Earthquakes, Those Mean Santa Ana winds, Landslides and US !
The pay Czar is only there to keep his foot on the business' head…can't have them making more than the government…..that would be you and me btw….what a crock!!
They wouldn't know green from brown. They do it for money and to keep their names alive.
These stars have no credibility left, if they say something that makes since i listen , if its stupid parrot talk written for them i just laugh at them, surely most people dont pay attention to them.
Did George Clooney ever issue a statement asking people not to stand in front of swimming pools? If so, then what a hypocritical BASTARD. If not, then I'm not sure what your picture proves…
+ 1,000,000
I am sick of people who live lifestyles I can only dream about telling me….
- I should walk to work and my gasoline is too cheap, while they take limos and jet around the world (the Oboma’s – let’s take separate jets to Denmark Honey).
- I dare heat and cool my small and modest home, while they maintain mini-mansions (hey Al Gore).
The post is right on. I think a perfect first step would be to ban all private jet aircraft and eliminate the VIP fleet of aircraft at Andrews AFB. I could drive my car for a lifetime by cancelling one of these flights.
Hypocrites!
be reasonable, Jim- let's just ban jets and limos (heck, all fossil-fueled transportation entirely) for watermelon* liberals. (green on the outside, red on the inside).
Message from the brainless, uneducated Hollyweird crowd….."Only the little people must go green!"
Also remember how much it impacts the environment to fly their cocaine in from South America.
Greasy, aging Clooney vying for attention!
There are more rich Democrats as reported very recently. Just to get that out of the way. The athletes don't PREACH to us to "Do as we say, not as we do." Good to know you buy into the false stereotype of "Rich Republican's". But you're a lib, so it's understandable that you are spoon fed your thoughts.
Perhaps it is because the same "stars" keep running their mouths about the same crap they have for the last 10 years.
Hollywod gang green is alive and thriving. Algore is their posterchild of waste and indulgence.
C'mon Mr. Mannix…don't you know all animals are created equal but some animals are more equal than others.
It proves he is a hypocrite.
Oh, but haven't you read? They pee and brush their teeth during their "3-minute" showers… So GREEN!
Don't forget the hair and make-up artists! They, afterall, make them look good.
"Seriously. The site posts some version of this article every week. You recycle more than the lefties you despise!!"
–Seriously – we are just trying to be GREEN and recycle. Why aren't you happy?
My family's been doing that since before my grandmother's time.
Amazing they discovered this brand new revolutionary process.
I make my own wine. And while yes, the yeast does emit carbon, it's a pretty green process as far as I can tell.
Wonderful ain't it?
Nothing but recycled "White Man's Burden." Only this time around its the tortured, bleeding heart liberal artists burden.
Hah! Touche! Except that recycled articles, like recycled paper and cloth, tends to be weaker, coarser, and just generally sucks! Next they'll be posting in hemp!
Glad you got my joke!

It appears to me that one of the easiest and best ways to reduce energy usage is to stop watching and buying movies and television shows. I was watching Castle last night when I realized how well lit all the little pockets and areas were. No nasty shadows or anything I get from the few lights I use. While this made the visuals appealing, it occurred to me that it was costly and wasteful. Since it is unlikely we can get Hollywood to cut back, the only way is to use incentives, namely stop making it profitable for them. How do we do that? Stop buying their products.
I realize that a lot of people depend on this wasteful activity for a livelihood but we gotta save the planet. Act now before it is too late.
If you believe there is a drought, then everyone should be conserving water. If you don't believe there is a drought then it doesn't matter. All this stuff about movie stars is just distracting nonsense, a way for conservatives to vent their anger at being out of power.
http://www.water.ca.gov/drought/
Not really, because it works pretty much like "climate change" – whether there is or there isn't, the idiots pushing things like cap and trade and admonishing the rest of us to reduce our carbon footprints aren't reducing THEIR carbon footprints and certainly won't be affected as much by cap and trade since they have tons of money. Plus cap and trade and all that other crap does absolutely nothing to actually fight even fictional climate change, so it's just another way to wrangle money out of people and stay in power.
THAT is the point, skippy. It's actors doing what actors aren't supposed to be doing, and that's telling ME what to do while they do whatever they want.
Like Pelosi's even bigger plane that she flew twice a week at $60,000 a pop. All elected officials should use commercial airlines and sit in coach. They really aren't THAT important that they need their own plane. Well, maybe the President for security and logistical reasons, but in a limited way.
Thanks for playing, but you are still wrong.
Well , there is a drought and everyone should conserve water , in my opinion. If actors are preaching one thing and doing another then screw them . I haven't seen any proof offered of that. For all I know many of those actors are conserving water.
I notice that when actors speak out on conservative topics , that doesn't bother folks on the right so much.
I think thhey believe that bringing awareness to the issue is all that really matters to them. Remember DarFur? They don't because after awareness was brought, it was time to find a new cause. Remember cancer research, and all of those commercials they made? Awareness brought, on to another cause. These people do nothing but run their mouths and espouse whatever "good idea" they heard at Starbucks picking up their latte mocha fuckuccino. Go back to whatever rock you came from, no one is listening but your moronic friends.
Not to mention the slave labor and all of the harmful chemicals that go into said coke. Someone should really bring "awareness" to that grave injustice
Not to mention the serious cut in fishstick production said sealife death would cause. that is a no-win situation.
Actually no, there is no drought. Southern California is a desert and thus, has the water resources of a desert. Should water be conserved in that region? If you want to maintain the population levels at the same or higher levels, than that is your choice and more power to you. But no one should be forced to do so.
Did you not catch the little nugget of truth in Ladyk's post on the Dingleberry smelt in the Delta being fought over by enviro-douches that are more than happy to fight the battle to keep water from the delta going to SoCal. Read the post next time before diarrhea typing.
Algore's mansion is far from mini.
Ernie, your telepathic powers are truly awesome but don't let the elite know you've got them or they will find a way to tax them and maybe spread 'em around.
Barbra was one of those. When she said that everyone should put their clothes on a line to dry, she was asked if she did it. No Comment was her answer. Typical limousine liberals. The ones that palmtree don't exist. Just those evil, rich Republicans. What a gullable dope.
Hillary said we tax everything that moves. The Democrat creedo!
Water shortages on Earth are only possible with a government monoply.
California has 840 miles of coastline.
The average depth of planet Earth including all land masses is over two miles deep.
Cometary dust adds over 16 million tons of water to the planet daily.
Liberals think when you flush a toilet water is destroyed at the molecular level and the atoms flung into a far off galaxy vs. simple evaporative water cycle we should have learned back in the 2nd grade.
Most British colonies in the Caribbean switched to private reverse osmoses companies back in the 1980's. No water shortages and the water is clean, safe and cheap. About $16 – $20 per 1,000 gallons. A few exceptions exist like the USVI. Only the city of Jupiter FL has done this on the mainland as far as I know.
Privatize reverse osmosis and allow competition.
Having water shortages on Earth (the water planet) is pathetic.

Yeah I know thats what Hannity told you , but the problem is a lot larger and more complex than that.
Well according to the State of California ,"2009 is the third year of drought in California. Below average precipitation and runoff began in the fall of 2006". That's from the link I posted above. But I suppose it's a liberal/marxist/whatever source so feel free to disregard it. I'm sure it's not as reliable a source as "Darkwolf".
Of course it's a desert and since population is not decreasing water is scarce. I'm not even sure why this is a left/right political issue.
Hi Cats,
Read some of the detractor posts here. Very simply, I think it is wonderful when anyone conserves, does without, recycles, yada for the good of the locality, fed, self, world – whatever – Bravo. Not the point of this bit. I'm not smart enough to know about water tables and such, if the govt says conserve, i guess they have a reason, so I'll try to do it. My point here is: HYPOCRACY and HYPOCRACY and HYPOCRACY.
"I'm sure it's not as reliable a source as "Darkwolf". "
*grins*
The municipalities that pay the fees the firms I have worked for that charged for my services regarding water supply, distribution and quality issues over that last 25 years or so (and yes, 10 of those years in southern California) haven't found fault with my assessments and designs. Furthermore, my work is based on hydrologic records going back over a hundred years along with scientific based statistical projections for the next ten, not simply the politically influenced published record of three years as you listed. Combine that with the fact that a good bulk of southern California's potable water supply doesn't even come from California, then fluctuating rainfall in an area that never got that much in the first place really cant be blamed.
(continued)
But again, the point is missed. Our debate over the climatologic conditions of Southern CA has nothing to do with right/left, but that in and of itself is not the point of the posted article which seems to be missed by you. That being the hipocracy of the Hollywood liberal elite in their preaching to us peasants on how to live when they themselves (with a few exceptions to be sure) refuse to do so and for the most part living more wastefully than entire neighborhoods of us pathetic lowlifes.
Do you really believe that those of us on the right want to waste everything until there is nothing left for anybody? Don't forget, those of us on the right, a good half of this country's population at the very least, are not wealthy, influential or in any way famous to reserve our share of so called dwindling resources. We drink the same water and breath the same air that you do. We do recognize the need to be responisble, yet we also recognize BS when it's shoveled at us too.
"Do you really believe that those of us on the right want to waste everything until there is nothing left for anybody?" Well , I wouldn't presume anything about you personally , but I do believe that the right has a general attitude that the free market will solve every problem , that regulations are always bad, that anyone whom is concerned about the enviroment is a wacko , and I think that this attitude is a recipe for disaster. I also think a good number of conservatives are anticipating the rapture and are thus not concerned with enviromental issues at all.
In my opinion the point of the article is to allow people to vent anger at hollywood/liberals , and the water/climate change topic is just a pretext.
Whether there is a drought or not, I think you are saying that if Socal wants to keep increasing population then we need to conserve water. I would imagine that celebrities feel they are doing their civic duty by encouraging that.I understand your point about their hypocrisy and I have no great need to defend rich movie stars.
Indeed, I think we can both agree that Socal's increasing population is the major factor on the limits of water resources in that area.
we need to be lecturing them, not the other way around….these people are the biggest hypocrites in the world.
