Obama’s State of the Union: The Foreclosures-burg Address
by Ernie MannixFour to seven years ago, our fathers scored and brought forth on this continent, some new homes, conceived in stucco, and dedicated to the proposition that all men can get second mortgages.
Now we are engaged in a great economic crisis, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated to overspending -putting in built-in pools – blowing a wad in Vegas- buying way too much crap on eBay, then stepping up to a “C” class – can long endure.
We are met on a great battlefield of this credit crisis. We have come to dedicate a portion of this field, as a final resting place for those who did the right thing; paid their mortgages, lived within their means and gave of their livelihoods, so that jackasses that didn’t put ANY money down, and still spent more than they had, might walk away from their homes scott-free and punk an entire neighborhood of innocent families. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this, until it doesn’t work- and we need to do it again.
But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate — we can not consecrate — we can not hallow — this ground, without Pelosi, Reid and Frank standing up and taking all the damned credit. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled to pay their mortgages, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to pork-up the stimuli.
The world will little note, nor long remember that I’m commandeering the census, but I will make sure it never forgets, when this all goes kablooey, that it’s still gonna be all Bush’s freakin’ fault.
It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work of paying through our noses and bowels, year after year, propping up those who overspent, high-tailed it, and are now running up another Capitol One credit card. It is also for us here to be dedicated to the great bailout ballooning before us — that from these toilet-less trashed foreclosures, we take increased devotion to the mighty socialistic causes that will give the short-end to the responsible ones.
That we here highly resolve that these four bedroom wrecks, shall not have foreclosed in vain — that this nation, under the Democrats, shall have a new birth of socialism– and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall never be seen again.

Interesting… When is the State of the Union address?
I don't know if it's being called the State of the Union but the Obamanation is giving an address tomorrow night. The Republican chosen to give the response is Bobbly Jindal. That will be worth watching.
Jindal is prepping for a run in 2016. He's going to serve two terms as governor and then run. He's getting his credentials in order first. But if Steele wins in 2012, he'll have to wait.
I'd put this up in the same satiric league as Iowahawk.
I can tell you what the State of the Union is going to be about. It will be about how selfish "some" of us are. The words are going to be generic and so is the Rhetoric, but it still will be there.
It will wax eloquent of how some of us haven't made the leap of faith. How some of us cling to our old and dated beliefs. How we listen too much to the Rush Limbaughs of the world. Your basic blast of all things not liberal.
He will go into what we need to do, give him the power and he will fix it. Never mind that it didn't need fixing in the first place. The ONE sees all and can divine the future……………………………….Yeah Right.
This is goos, but nothing will come close to the Chaucer parody. "I liketh bigge buttes and cannot denye"……..flippin' priceless. BURMA SHAVE!
Great satire! I am not going to watch the State of the Union because I question it's relevance. I don't ever watch the State of the Union addresses, at least with the sound up. I turn the sound down and catch the body language which is evermore informative than the brown and fowl-smelling rhetoric that spews from our current addressee's maw. Besides, Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity and the rest will have a great summation of it. I'll catch it there. Or if I get really curious, I can get a blow by blow reprise on MSN or one of the other fauwning media outlets.
Yeah, and he just turned any of the stimulus money for Louisiana too! Should be really interesting
Well done!at least here(and a few other sites)i don't feel like a fool for paying my bills.Personal responsability being passe'and all that.
"Punked" a neighborhood. You got that right, Ernie. I've got a few of those in my own neighborhood in Phoenix, AZ. This Stimulus Bill rewards bad homeowner behavior, no doubt about it. It'll be a miracle if it touches those people who are truly deserving of some help.

jindal is going to be skewered(nationally) by the intelligent design in science class fiasco.moderate independents(who he'll need to get elected) will avoid him like the plague.
In 2002 I was giving a 500K loan to buy a property that went for 120K new (yes in SoCal). I couldn't understand how with me making 56K I could get that big of a loan, and where was the consumer protection agencies that should have been all over those types of loans at that time? Don't even get me started on the ARM loans. I though tree hugging liberals (as I would be pigeon-holed) were for less government intervention? And no I don't support the bailout of the banks (the silent hand of the market should fix that) or homeowners.
Damn glad Bush didn't get the chance to privatize Social Security.
he should be giving boring speeches in kenya or haiti, not in America.
Don't mock it- Obama is Lincoln, Washington, FDR, and Jesus reborn all wrapped up in one person. Even though everything he has ever said is lifted and corrupted, he is totally original and full of hope, change, bipartisanship, and togetherness. And if you believe anything he says or that I just wrote, be like the Scarecrow and find a brain.
Steele just lost a reelection bid. I don't think he's a front runner for 2012. I'm surprised he's even head of the RNC. We need an Austrian economist like Ron Paul. I know. How about Ron Paul?
"I though tree hugging liberals (as I would be pigeon-holed) were for less government intervention?"
It's more like the complete opposite. Tree hugging liberals would wish to extend their roots (lol?) into as many things as possible.
Oh duh! Actually I like to extend my roots into the bailout packages I need 5 million over the next three years and 1 million immediately. (Mainly to stimulate the economy in Vegas).
Sorry I'm so confused on where I fit with my opinions. And it didn't help with the the new levels of bureaucracy the last administration created.
(I gave you a +1 for reading my post).
ah, so that's why something important like American Idol isn't showing tomorrow night- that slackjawed moron is going to push some more jabber out his imbecilic piehole which will cause the dow to tank another 400 points.
Gads, not even two months in and all I want is for this colossal dunce to shut the hell up and leave us alone.
Oh, and today's rasmussen has his approval at under 60% today (like 58%). Should be low 50's by middle of next week, and low 40's by St. Patty's. Hopey! Changey! Wheeeeee!!!!
Dolt, dope, cheat, fool, jackass. Oh, and commander in thief.
WAF.
Give me liberty, or give me debt.
(I've never heard a President say kablooey before.)
Yes, kablooey as in debt-ton-nation.
Ha!
Dear Leader. LOL.
Too bad those flags are made in China.
Well the Previous Chairman Clinton helped us with that. I used to be a Doctor – now I make little foam Mickey Mouse and Jack In The Box heads for our radio antennas.
(LOL@China by the way)

Ron's got some good ideas, unfortunately, at times, he's also certifiable.
Hmmm…this post has a ring of…familiarity to it. Ya know…you couldn't write comedy any funnier…or more tragic…than our new socialist leader is concocting on a daily basis, coming at us faster than we have the ability to digest it all and react with outrage…which is probably the point. I was laughing at your post, Ernie…until the reality of it started to sink in. How could we have dumbed down the voting populace to such a degree…first, that this bunch could actually be elected…and then, that the current shennanigans are received by the public with such ennui?
Ernie, this time I have to admit I'm having a hard time seeing what you wrote as parody… I could see the O giving this speech! (yikes)
By the way, thanks for hanging with us in the open thread — was fun.
He seems certifiable compared to all the other politicians who have no understanding of economics or the Constitution. (my opinion)
I'm not saying I don't like the guy, and I will admit that I like some of his views. However, far too often, I think the things he advocates would be really, really bad for this country, so I would not want to vote for him. (my opinion)
Isn't it cool we can disagree in a friendly manner? That must mean we're not liberals!
One comment like that will not destroy him, especially since he is a minority. The media only attack conservative minorities already in office. They wouldn't dare call Michael Steele an "Uncle Tom" with Obama on the other ticket.
Yes Gary. The absolute insanity of what is going on in Washington truly boggles the mind. So much is coming at us sooo fast, that we can't even keep up the appropriate amount of outrage needed for each debacle.
He is pulling fast ones, on top of faster ones.
All my pleasure.

Indeed. I always thought it would be great if the republican primary was the general election and all we had to do was decide between center-right candidates.
That would be awesome. John McCain would've been the furthest Left and Ron Paul the furthest Right. What a country we would have.
We need to only do one thing as conservatives. ONE THING. We need to pull out the worst pieces of the stimulus package and publicize them. Send out cards to tax payers saying things like "CONGRATULATIONS: Your taxes just paid for ______" Since there's not an election this year if we concentrated on telling people just this one thing, it would be the beginning of the end for the Democrats.
"Give me liberty or give me debt."
An excellent companion to this fine post.
Take it easy folks – Dear Leader is just trying to show us a better way. I mean look at all of those flags in his picture! He cares, he REALLY CARES!
Hope and Change (verp)
Disagree spike… The ID debate is NOT going to be a big deal. The only 2 single issues I know of that would turn conservatives would be abortion (Not an Issue with some of the young guns of the future) and Amnesty (this COULD affect Jindal)
Two words (or three if you're Joe Biden)–Public Education.
No… Fiscally, paul is solid (always has been) other than his desire to go back to the Gold standard.
Foreign policy wise… Isolationism? No thanks. (He's the one that keeps harping on the "American Empire".
Thankfully, it's bowling night toniight… so Obamanation for me to listen to tonight
If the teleprompter doesn't work people will be in for a long night!
Yeah, normally, it's say something loud enough and often enough and people will believe it.
Now it's .. say it fast enough so nobody can argue against it.

Obama just needs to hire that old "fast talker" from the Fed-ex commercials.. get everything he wants said and be done with it.
Fast? Things are happening so fast that we're overwhelmed with it; a few weeks ago G. Beck (I would strongly recommend seeing it) opened his show with that as an issue – in his view, I believe he said, that was Obama's plan – you don't know what to be upset about, because so much is being changed, and we don't know how to deal with it – if the MSM could keep up with the changes, we'd eventually hear something, but they're not even doing that! Confusion seems to be the way to go in his presidency.
China's got something, and it works. They're the ones loaning us a trillion dollars, remember? For all our high and mighty change-ness, we still can't out-earn a country famous for making plastic crap.
I've got a plan for change. It will create (not save) 4 million jobs. Two words: Sweat. Shops.
Take THAT, China!
Any exorbitantly rich do-gooders could take this on. FedEx Office does direct mail. FedEx is an American company, that employs a lot of people. The rates are pretty cheap, or at least they were when I worked there. And, since direct mail is usually for business advertising, you could probably write off the expenses on your taxes as a failed business venture. Heck, set up a paypal account and I'm sure you can get enough donations to at least paper a major city.
We can do this.
You could say the same thing about H. Ross Perot too. Though Ross was just made to look certificable.

A well-rewritten address, unfortunately couched in painful fact. I enjoyed this immensely.
The gold standard keeps the gov from spending like madmen. that's why they want Paul to look crazy. Also, the price of gold in relation to oil has been consistent. Thus, our currency would've been equal to the price of gas. No pain at the pump. See video:
http://www.popmodal.com/video/472/Oil-Price-Stabi...
He's not an isolationist, he's simply not a militarist. He thinks parking warships off other nation's coasts for no reason is wrong.
As I (re) wrote it, the last line, did almost make me weep.
*yawns* in advance …
Since American Idol is on also is there a number we can call to vote BO off ?
Thomas, a lot of his comments during the Republican primaries (when he was allowed to speak) was extremely isolationist. He has interviews and articles where he talked about pulling completely out of NATO (even on an economic scale) and ANZAC
Of course I can't leave this one alone.
"Oh, and commander in thief."
I didn't realize this post was about George W.
China has been paying for our war in Iraq for how many years, and you speak like it had something to do with the current administrations need to suck on the Communist teat.
And yes the trade deficit with China suxors, but moving the sweat-shops here will only bring more aliens from the south. Cause you cant drive a Hummer on $3 dollars a week.
We always have the Unions to look out for us…..
LMAO! ROFL! whew…..can't believe I kept a straight face while I typed that.
