Conservatives often talk about what they don’t like about Hollywood. That’s okay, but it’s not productive. Maybe it’s time we talked about what we do like? More to the point, let’s point out when Hollywood has gotten it right. And that brings me to the...

I'm ahead of the game here. Never have watched a Sean Penn movie. Never will.
been there and done that, ernie. and, it's real easy to keep the pledge, i can assure you!
thank you everyone for the comments…a lot of fun!
The last Penn movie I saw was Carlito's Way, and he was really good in it. He was starting to put Shanghai Surprise behind him at this point. But, watching a Penn film to me is like buying cheap gas at Citgo. I cannot bring myself to support the politics behind it–no matter how good or inexpensive the product. If an actor wants to outwardly promote his backward ideas, then his cause becomes a part of the product. And since I vote with my dollar, it will go somewhere else.
Sean who? Already zapped out of my mind.
I'll still watch Fast Times….but that's only because the Penn then was not the same guy as the Penn now. And I like red bikinis. But I'll never watch anything else he's ever done. Won't be my loss either.
Re. your headline; who hasn't done that ALREADY?
Gina called it. Sean who?
Even Shanghai Surprise?
Which brings up a tangetial topic: How was he able to beat the tar out of Madonna and get a pass from the Hollywood Moral Police?
It took you this long to come to that decision? Once he produced bomb after bomb and then started railing against America he was crossed off my list.
The public library from the city in which I live , has an enormous collection of Hollywood DVD's and videos. This collection consists of many pre 60's films. There is also an abundance of ultra left-wing propaganda of the Sundance and every other left film festival endorsed crap you can imagine. But guess what? Everytime I visit the library to see what is available, mostly what I see is the aforementioned crap in the form of "indie" films, along with movies from "first tier" stooge actors and directors. That tells me that even in a "progressive" college town, no one is interested in seeing Hollywood leftist doctrine. In order to see a decent movie, I have to put it on hold via internet, because films from the golden era of Hollywood are rarely available. And in the past few months, I have enjoyed many westerns, musicals and comedies from an era of great entertainers; not the Castro/Guevara loving freak show that parades about today. The Duke lives!
