BTW – I really don’t mean to call anyone morons. But the collective act of being the “zinger” liberal that mutters something about Halliburton etc. to make a point is moronic. That’s all I’m saying. You might have wanted to read the whole link you gave us before making your smarmy point. It makes clear that the briefing “Bin Laden determined to attack the US” was vague and something already known. What else would they think Bin Laden wanted to do, catch a Red Sox game and then head north with the wife to get some Vermont Maple syrup? The citation of this briefing though interesting to those who are sincere about history, is a comical dud from those morons who think that their level of NPR listening “show” intelligence is greater than President Bush and thousands of National Security professionals. Hey, I’ve met people that knew or worked with President Bush, he’s smarter than anyone you’ve ever met. Even if you technically have a higher IQ the fact that he was a Governor and President for even one day makes him smarter than you. Because obviously you think you’d be a better President but failed. But I know, some guy typing angrily in the middle of the night in his Healthcare Not Warfare tee-shirt would’ve stopped 9-11, too bad you weren’t in charge.

I beseech you, my fellow conservatives, to recall the outcome of the last Civil War fought between red states and blue. Has our cause any strength now we had not then? Can we hope to prevail against the liberal forces when their very government controls our economies? Turn back, I say, their Federal largesse and let us find economic independence so that we may one day declare our independence from their political correctness! And when we have severed ourselves economically from their manufactures, finances, ports, capital, entertainment, and institutes of higher learning, we will at last fulfill the promise of the original secession. but may i add a few points? the Texas ethos that both Bush 41 and 43 took to Washington was not understood and certainly not liked by a lot of Bush-bashers. it goes way beyond failure to communicate too, because we are talking cultural bias begetting political bias here. one of my ancestors was also a Texas Governor in the 1880s, and we are decendents of the Republic, but this mindset and classiness of a “rise above it all” attitude has been around a lot longer than Texas has… think of the motto of the Royal Order of the Garter: “honi soit que mal e pense” (forgive my latin spelling) which loosely translates:

“evil to him who evil thinks”.

…as with Harry S. Truman, the buck really did stop there with GWB.

contrast that reality with the ABSD (advanced Bush derangement syndrome) in the media, blue states, and hollywood elitists, who never understood – nor even acknowledged – GWB’s penchant for falling on his own sword, for the greater good even when he shouldn’t have, IMHO. the proof? let’s do a quick and simple google excercise…

search exact phrase “Bush takes responsiblity” = over 4000 hits.

exact phrase “Bush admits mistakes” = over 14,500 hits.

more general exact phrase “Bush admits” = over 115,000 hits.

exact phrase “Bush apologizes” = over 29,600 hits.

…now let’s google the mother-of-all-lies and ABSD manic-mantra, the exact phrase “Bush lied” = over 282,000 hits! and not a single one of them truthful.

let them have their cupcakes. the inmates are running the asylum. they will need a LOT of cupcakes.
