Dear Amber Benson…I travel frequently, forgive the delayed response. I completely misread the column and thought that the quotes were below the name instead of above or above instead of below. I am not sure if the cool kids still say this, but "my bad."

Nevertheless, it does not change the fact that Twitter has allowed the gasbags of America to fill up verbal landfills with oral nonsense.

I decided to sign up, and post my very first and last post. Now if only every American, regardless of race color or creed, would celebrate the beautiful holiday of "shut the hell up and go to work day."

I live in California, and I want equality for all…I want everyone to just be equally silent. The state is collapsing. Too much talking, not enough doing.

No, I remember when blogs came out — everybody and their dog had one, and the snarky types were making fun of them because who would want to read some emo kid's journal on the Internet?

It seems to me that the same snarky types are now making fun of Twitter because it's not the same as a blog. Well duh, of course it isn't, it's something entirely new, and it's going to be used in new ways. Just because you can't fit twelve paragraphs into a Twitter post doesn't mean it's useless; look at sites like Instapundit, who have basically been Twittering for years now, and very successfully. Just because 90% of Twitter posts are crap doesn't mean anything; 90% of everything is crap (Sturgeon's Law). 90% of blog posts are crap, and no-one here would argue that "blogging" is a useless idea.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no great fan of Twitter, and have no plans to sign up for an account. Maybe it'll succeed and maybe it'll fail. But it annoys me when snarky people dismiss things for stupid reasons.

Know I sound freakshow…but among The Giants of social networking (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Linked-In)…well, wouldn't it be a hacker's Holy Grail to hack one of their databases. And that's why I stay away. One World nuances. Scares the crap outta me. I think I'll run into my Fallout Shelter and take inventory of my dehydrated food stores again… Buh-bye
