You publicly whined when you thought Sean Hannity, a mere talk show entrepreneur, wasn’t being fair with his public critiques of you and your mentor Jeremiah Wright. You kicked three journalists off your plane because their respective papers didn’t support your presidency, and there was an observable reluctance to call on a TV correspondent from Fox News for quite some time. You are sensitive to things said about you, and yet you’re just brimming with cold and cavalier language about the great American populace that has elevated you to the pinnacle of world influence. Why?
When you return home, how sad it will be that you will not have been able to leave what you said in some tawdry saloon, perhaps spoken under the influence of alcohol or another depressant, and therefore forgivable by some stretch of the imagination. Unfortunately, nothing will prevent you from bringing the fruit of your painstaking and laborious speechifying back with you. And please don’t tell us, in your familiar way, that you inherited the very particular discord that will surely follow your return, as your fellow United States citizens finally realize that your revolution was nothing more than a turgid European melon; green on the outside and on the inside, very, very red!

Understand that the Current Occupant has an Islamic background (is it ok to bring that up now?) and as such will automatically defer to the Keepers of the Faith of which the House of Saud of course, is… they are the ones who are underwriting Wahabism to be taught worldwide- and whom Mr Bush was derided for being 'too close'…

Well said. One wonders what the media would say about a Republican President who:
(1) got no agreement on stimulus from Europe,
(2) got no more troops for Afghan,
(3) bowed to the Saudi King,
(4) could not stop the North Koreans from firing a missile,
(5) could not stop the Russians from continuing work on Iranian reactors,
(6) got called a lunatic by the Taliban,
(7) got mocked by the Iranians,
(8) got our military kicked out of Kyrgyzstan,
(9) got mocked by Hugo Chavez,
(10) begged the Chinese to keep his budget afloat,
(11) gave ridiculous gifts to foreign dignitaries, and
(12) let his wife goose the Queen of England.
I'm betting it wouldn't be as nice as what the MSM is saying about Obama. And wasn't it Obama who assured us that he could pull all this off by just sitting with the enemy and teaching them the error of their ways? I guess he over-promised.
And now Obama says in Turkey that the US has not been and will never be at war with Islam, without mentioning the fact that Islam has been and will always be at war with the non-Muslim world. He also dares to say that Islam "has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including" America.
Islam takes all it can from the world and contributes nothing, and the man who is charged to protect us from Islam and it's Jihad and its Sharia Law, is protecting Islam instead. His Muslim background has only made him even more sympathetic to Islam than Bush was, to the detriment of all of us.

But five minutes from now, all, part or none of the replies may be on the thread, including this one. It still needs a LOT of work.

I'm having a problem where I can only partially open the threads. I can see the number of replies growing, but I can't get to them. This seems to go on for most of the day, with only minor breaks where I can get into the threads.
I'm also not thrilled that we even have to open the threads, because it makes it harder to follow what is going on — but that's a different issue for me than the problem with not being able to open threads.

Charles Krauthammer Rocks! It is so true that since WWII, Europe has depended on us for their security and we have supplied it too them at great expense to us. With this savings in defense spending Europe has enjoyed, they have installed a multitude of entitlement programs. With these entitlements, most of them unsustainable, Europe will find it hard to find the cash to defend themselves.
Therein lies the problem with welfare states in general. Those constantly sucking on the tit of the U.S. will have a very hard time releasing – I think it is pass time to do so. The problem with that is when they find the can't afford all that welfare AND defend themselves, they may have some social unrest….again.
