Shephard Smith and Janet Napolitano Sitting in a Tree
by Dave KonigI was in the Friars Club gym yesterday pretending to work out. The Friars Club gym is great for the ego because no matter what time of day or night you’re in there, you’re always the youngest guy by 30 years.
As I reclined on the stationary bike, my feet up on the handle bars, watching TV (the preferred Friars Club method of exercising) I saw something on FOX News that got my blood pumping harder than anything I would be doing in my workout. Shephard Smith was doing a report on the Octogenarian Neo Nazi (OctoNazi?) who opened fire at the Holocaust Museum. In a breathtakingly oddball blizzard of profundity Shephard:
1) Cited the OctoNazi attack as yet another example of “intolerance and bigotry” by “a certain segment of the population” who simply cannot “accept that a black man has been elected president”!
2) Held this bizarro incident up as proof that – I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP! – Homeland Defense Secretary Napolitano was right when she issued the report that claimed returning veterans posed a threat of right-wing terrorism in our country. Because OctoNazi was a returning veteran (granted, he returned six and a half decades ago…).
Maybe Shephard is right? OctoNazi was a World War Two vet, so he had over sixty years to stew over his craziness. Lurking out there somewhere there’s got to be a 130 year old veteran of the Spanish American War, filled with over a century of brooding and plotting, ready to launch a domestic terrorist attack to proove that Napolitano and Shephard are on to something!

There is a word that follows "jack" which would aptly describe Mr. Shephard. I'm too polite to include it in my post.
Shepard Smith is the only person at Fox news who occasionally strays from the Ailes talking points! You dittoheads need to DEAL with it!
If only there had been the same level of passion on the news channels for the Muslim convert who murdered the soldier in Little Rock, Arkansas, at a miliary recruitment center.
I'm sure that Ms. Napolitano and DHS will use this (along with the murder of abartionist, George Tiller) to ram through draconian gun registration/confiscation acts along with much closer scrutiny of conservative/libertarian groups (such as the Cato and Heritage Foundations and this blog – will demands from DHS for subscriber/membership lists from said groups be far behind?). What reporters overlook is that this old wacko is, among other things, a rabid anti-Christian who regarded Christianity as a grand plot to destroy the Roman empire.
Shepard Smith likes to make it known that he's the most liberal person at FOX news. I have no problem believing that. He and Jerry Rivers are on my Do Not Watch list.
When the story first broke, some reporter on "Studio B" said effectively "This veteran tarnishes the legacy and honor of the WWII soldiers." What a crock!
shep, you can come out of the closet now. just like adam lambert, no one would be suprised.
It's an attack against the Jewish people and their heritage – something I think is a similar mindset to Obama and Rev Wright and their Zionist hating views would concur with. So I think 1) Shep Smith is out of his mind and he should anchor with Contessa Brewer on MSNBC and that 2) the government is stretching this a bit too far, thinking it was attack against them b/c Obama is President. Boy , they are confused in Washington, D.C. as always.
Whoraldo, anyone?
Sheppard is a joke and whining for a long time. You put Beck on at 7 and kick this guy to CNN, you would be do us a favor. CNN doesn't sport on conservative show, you daily kosers who post here can kiss my ass.
There's a big difference between journalism and commentary. Shepard is supposed to deliver news, not his opinion. He put words into this psycho's mouth just like Janine Garofalo tried to assert that Tea Party attendees were upset with Obama's skin color and not his and Congress's spending spree.
I'm tired of news people trying to speak for people instead of reporting facts and both sides of issues.
I thought Shep has departed. Apparently not.
Just another reason why I watch Fox over all other cable news outlets because they live up to their "fair and balanced" claims. It would be disingenuous (spelling?) not to have someone with Shep's point of view in a prime time slot. I don't watch him because I don't agree with him but I think it's important that he be there.
I'm not "ASS"
PS- the guy is 88 yrs. old. Perhaps he is just a BIT off due to senility etc.
Liberals always like to make fun of Fox News as being all conservative all the time. Actually, Shep Smith does what is supposed to be more of a hard news show. Fox is kind of like the Wall Street Journal, "right" on the editorial page and "left" elsewhere. Shep strikes me as a bit of a "dweeb."The show I mainly watch on Fox is Brett Baier.
First thing I thought, this guy is just like Farakhan and Wright.
Ever notice that the most popular liberal hosts have the best speaking voices? A Mark Levin would never be as popular as lib mouthpiece because audiences would have to endure that voice as well as the lies.
Hmm… that quite surprises me… I never thought that anyone of Fox would side with Reno… I mean Napolitano.. (sorry they both have the name Janet and both look quite mannish)….
But I was wondering if that man was a WW2 vet…
And I have to disagree with both Shepard AND Napolitano… just because you are a returning vet does not automatically make you crazy and want to go off in murderous rampages… :/ My Grandfathers aren't that way and neither is my dad… :/
While I agree with you, we should probably occasionally watch the other side if for no other reason than so we cannot be correctly accused of attacking those shows without ever watching them. Most liberal "journalists" (Norah O'Donnell comes to mind) like to always smirk when they report on something said by Fox News Channel, Rush Limbaugh, etc. The obvious inference being they are not to be respected or treated as serious journalists, as if the liberals are somehow different or better. It is obvious, of course, that they never actually watch or listen to the shows they are mocking.
I heard yesterday he was a WW2 vet and he claimed to be a PT boat captain, but those claims are unable to be verified. It made me thing how crazy living in those times must have been in terms of service to the military. The mobilization must've been so fast and promotions so quick there was difficulty keeping records of such things.
I retired from the Air Force in '99.
Currently, I have no plans to go off on a three-state killing spree…mostly, I just play a lot of golf.
I can't speak for the Army guys, however.
Proving once again that lefties don't actually listen to conservative radio.
" liberal hosts have the best speaking voices"………how shallow can you get?
Shep Smith a very Impressible, Responsive, Sensitive Young Man……….Enough said.
Shep is a great newscaster and brings alot to the table for FNC. But lately he has been disturbing me with all his strange and (in my opinion) ignorant comments.
It kinda sucks that he actually thinks this nonsense. Bummer. Wise up Shep.
Funny you should mention; whenever I see Napolitano, I'm reminded of Retard (I mean Reno) and that in turn reminds me of the old Mudy Waters song "Mannish Boy." On a more serious note, the comment made was an absolute insult to World War II veterans. As the Aussie's say "good on ya, mate!)
The Nazis are often labeled "Christian" by people who don't know their history. Nazi Germany was a secular state which occasionally exploited religion for its own gain–sort of like how Obama will make references to Christianity and Islam despite all evidence suggesting he probably believes in neither. Nazism itself was something of a religion, with Hitler as a combination high priest/living god. The Nazi religion consisted of a combination of occultism, Norse paganism (as envisioned by Richard Wagner), and emperor worship.
I just got out of the Marine Corps one year ago. I can't say I have the urge to harm anyone in any ethnic group. What Napolitano (and now Shep) are saying pisses me off. Why do these elitist D bags think they can say this crap about us?! One person out of a large population of veterans doesn't make this argument for them at all. Maybe we should speak out against civilians and nonmilitary that don't contribute one bit and commit crime. I'm sure I can build a more credible argument that civilians commit more crime. Ridiculous…
Give Shephard a break…could you think clearly if you were wearing all that eye makeup? Dude looks like he is the missing 5th man from Poison…he could easily fit in on the cover of Look What The Cat Dragged In.
Wipe the foam off your lips and go back under the bridge.
Shep is a douche and doesn't know history. Nazis were socialists. In what bizarro world does that make this guy right-wing? I guess in the same way that NPR liberals joke about the "brown people" that do their lawn and then call the right racists. All that mascara must be getting in his eyes making it hard to see the truth.
…a 130 year old veteran of the Spanish American War, filled with over a century of brooding and plotting…
The McKinley Administration "lied us into war!"
"Mckinley lied, and people died!"
That freakin' Maine Conspiracy.
I completely agree! Beck would be awesome at 7!!!
I saw that and couldn't believe how hysterically ignorant his statement was. The Homeland Security report talked about returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan, not WWII! And if you bother to check out the guy's website you'd see he was a truther, Bush hater. he hated Fox news too. The Octo-nazi was a lefty racist. The media is trying to spin it that he was right wing.
Shepard Smith is a drama queen extraordinaire. He’s one that I can’t stand for more than the time it takes me to change the channel. Shepard and Geraldo’s reports from New Orleans after Katrina made a bad situation worse with their hysterical field reports. The generalizations about returning war vets is as grotesque as it is naïve.
…popular liberal hosts…
"Here come de plane, boss! Here come de plane!"
True! Interesting enough, the only coverage of that murder was from Fox. I suppose Shep is there to provide a loony left wing tilt.
Well said!
You play a lot of golf? Sadistically internalizing your rage, no doubt.
Roger Ailes is glad to have Smith for that very reason — like Juan Williams and (while it lasted) Alan Colmes, he cannot be called a Bush/Reagan/Limbaugh shill. I suspect that Ailes would have more libs at FNC if they (a) would take the job and (b) were decent journalists like Smith.
Shep should go ahead and jump ship to CNN where he belongs–and where his views might be valued. At FOX he's a real drag as an anchor (pun, of course, intended).
Me, I'm part of that segment of the population that just cannot accept that a socialist has been elected president.
Lately? You must not have heard of Shlep's rants after Katrina when he was in his home state of Mississippi. He went all-in with the conspiracy theories and the Feds and FEMA's inaction, while it was Nagin (hope he's still under quarantine) and former LA governor Kathleen Blanco who really were responsible for the New Orleans fiasco.
Shep needs to go the way of the nazi, just disapear.
BTW, did anybody see his spiel about Glenn Beck a few weeks back..The guy is totally GREEN with envy that Beck is more popular. He should be ashamed of himself.
Shep should go ahead and jump ship to CNN where he belongs–and where his views might be valued. At FOX he's a real drag as an anchor (pun, of course, intended).
My guess is sometime in the next four years Shep gets cast off and MSNBC grabs him to fill one of the (many) ratings holes in the prime-time schedule — as long as he'll follow the lead of David Shuster and do red-meat attacks on his former employer.
You are so right. Juan Williams Has lost whatever credibility he had as a journalist and morphed into a Ailes lapdog. Colmes is a doofus who had no credibility to begin with.
Von Brunn was a birther.
How many leftists do you know who run around saying Obama isn't a U.S. citizen? He also specifically attacked "liberal marxist jew propaganda". Because, you know, liberals always attack liberalism.
if schmucks like smith have nothing to add but their commentary, then they ought to expect that opinion to be ridiculed. apparently, when smith's OPINION becomes the news, he is not prepared to be treated as the story, journalists are supposed to ask questions and get the story, not make it up
To be fair Holly.. his show is a lot of opinion … but i have to agree this was just OVER the top even for Shep.. (who is a known democratic supporter… so take that those of you who claim that FOx doesn't let liberals have a voice!).
He just went way too far in basically saying the DHS RWE report was "True"
1) Cited the OctoNazi attack as yet another example of “intolerance and bigotry” by “a certain segment of the population” who simply cannot “accept that a black man has been elected president”!
So an anti-Bush, anti-Christian, truther, lefty-nazi attacks the Holocaust Museum and its because vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are right-wing racists who can't handle having a black president?
I guess it makes sense if you're a lefty.
Oh look! An old troll with a new name or new troll with an old name?
Ooh.. really? Nobody can verify this huh? IVAW all over again???
yet the media jumped all over the claim as being true, didn't they?
Or when he covered the debate that was taking place in Oxford? Basically if you didn't know Sheep was a left-leaning reporter at Fox, after Katrina and that debate pre-lead… you KNEW it afterwards…
Shep needs more eye makeup….
I watch FOX for news and other political content. Shep is a little liberal but that's ok. I find Geraldo sometimes to be unwatchable and will turn the channel if he's particularly obnoxious. Hannity has a Robert somebody on his Great American Panel who's a completely intolerable blowhard and I will switch the channel before this guy opens his mouth.
Speaking of that, I know FOX wants to be fair and balanced, but when I click on to Hannity, I want my conservatism to be soothed from the liberal yabble that assaults me all day long. I understand why Hannity has these moonbats on, but it does nothing for lowering my blood pressure. I understand there is another side out there different from how I feel, I hear it and I see it and I read about it on a daily basis. The moonbats have unfair and unbalanced Olberman and Matthews, why can't I have an unfair and unbalanced Hannity??
Its pretty obvious that "Shep" has never been in close contact with most conservative. As for Napolitano, she has yet to equal some of the missdeeds of Reno————let me put emphasis on yet.
Wow Steven, you make me ashamed to that you have MY state in your name. Do me a favor and stay in Lexington with all the other tax and spend liberals like Beshearobama.
And he still have my state in his name. Boycott in coming.
Shepard Smith is a twisted little freak who went nuts, dropped the F bomb, and pounded the desk in a discussion about waterboarding with two other commentators not long ago. You know, that despicable thing we did to three mass killer jihadists that saved thousands of lives, if not more?
And then of course there's the woman he attacked over a parking space a while back.
I haven't checked, but I'm guessing he's about 5'5" and coming up short in other places, and his Napoleon is showing. I turn the channel when he's on – he needs serious anger management like most liberals.
I always thought Shephard Smith was a tool. Does he have pictures of Rupert Murdoch at a gay sex party or something?
Because his "offbeat" delivery and self-awareness seems very fitting for local programming. And that little tangent he went on was vomit-inducing.
Pfffhaha, yeah he's totally dying of jealousy. Except that Smith is an accomplished, respected, y'know, actual _journalist_, while Glenn Beck is an insane, weepy, idiot man-child.
"Shepard Smith is a queen extraordinaire."
Fixed that for ya.
That is a great response, Mark, and how ironic that you are fair to a man, who showed a little too much 'judgement' for my taste while reporting the news. I have always thought that Shep was supposed to be an anchor of sorts and not a punditry show. Am I wrong?
The old wacko's website also listed Bill O'Reilly as an "enemy", and embraced the cherished left-wing belief that the September 11 attacks were an inside job by an all-powerful Jewish cabal that used George W. Bush as a puppet.
Besides the old wacko's willingness to use firearms (which he should not have had legal access to anyway) I don't see a lot of difference between he and Michael Moore, Tim Robbins, and the Dear Leader's old pastor Jeremiah Wright, save that the old wacko stopped using the left-wing code word "neo-conservative" for "Jews".
Oh, wait, the Reverend Wright also dropped code words when talking about "them Jews" he thinks run the country.
For that matter, how different is the old wacko's worldview from that of the "Muslim world" the Dear Leader is trying so hard to please?
I also found his statements to be extremely ignorant of where the term "right-winger" comes from. It was coined by Socialists and Nazi's, hardly parties of free thinkers. I think the left has purposely and successfully hijacked the term to describe conservatives for years, linking it with our (U.S.) definition of positions on what side of the aisle each party sits, preying on the ignorance of the American public.
If anything, this guy was a product of the party of hate – Democrats and the Lefties, who are anti-Israel and anti-American.
"OctoNazi" is a great name for this guy. He sounds more like what liberalism tends to (Naziism) than a typical Obamaton. He certainly does not represent conservatives–veterans or otherwise. With his open hatred for non-white races, Jews and Christians . . . he's sort of like a white Obama, with an extra helping of crazy, though, judging from his past actions, I don't know how senile he had to be to go ahead with this attack on the Holocaust museum. I'm not surprised Napolitano would snatch up anything that seems to vindicate her opinion regarding which particular "segments of the population" are potential terrorists, but she should focus her attention on the bloodless coup happening in the White House and in Congress. Obama hasn't dirtied his hands by killing anyone (not directly, anyway, as far as we know) but we're all expendable (not just the unborn) to his agenda for this country. Octo-Nazi is a distraction for now, and the lefties will exploit it to the max to support their own skewed perception of reality. Obama and his accomplices (Pelosi, et al) are the real terrorists.
Ever since I first saw him on "Studio B" ( I know it had another name to start with, but I can't remember what it was), it always seemed to me his shows were an equivalent to the "Entertainment Today" type broadcast… they give a news clipping and then throw in a lot of opinion about the news.
Johnny boy, your knuckles are dragging.
Smith's a joke after his performance during Katrina; who could take this idiot seriously?
This guy Von Brunn isn't a Lefty or a Righty; he's an equal opportunity hater. He rails against Marxism AND neo-cons. He thinks Obama was born in Kenya AND he thinks Bush masterminded 9/11.
I don't know why anyone is trying to stick him with either "team." He was his own team–the nutty as a fruitcake kind. Trying to score cheap political points by linking him with Democrats or Republicans is pathetic. Grow up, folks.
What's sad is that some of this guy's big gripes–like the fiasco called the Federal Reserve–are completely legitimate, but they'll now be labeled as crazy talk thanks to his misguided violence and assorted insane beliefs.
is it "ON"?
Ugh, the muddle between facts and opinions. It drives me nuts when it comes to the MSM. INHO news networks, channels and shows should decide… punditry or journalism and stick to it. So again my question to the etherworld, is Shep Smith supposed to be commentary or news of the day?
And to show how much it drives me crazy, for example, even tho I agreed with Shep's little rant regarding the housing industry I didn't appreciate him saying it on his show. If you want your opinions known and are in the news business, then write a blog. that can't be hard to do.
Ol' Shep jumped the shark during his Katrina coverage. "Where is the HELP for these pooor people?!" cryed the Shepard as people that ingnored evacuaction warnings but still deserved help huddled on freeway overpasses…then Shep and the rest of "News Channel 8" or whatever Mickey Mouse operation he thought he was working for packed their gear, boarded their Black Suburban, and passed by the very people he was reporting about and headed to their 4 Star hotel to workout, get a rubdown and work on his faux tan. He's a grandstander, not a newsman.
Is that like a "meterosexual"?
Um. If he was upset about a black president shouldn't he have went to a black history museum instead of a Jewish museum? That would be like someone hating Mexicans so they go beat up a Polish person.
I' m waiting for a destroyer attack on Ft. Knox…a dang fleet of them; you know how those old destroyer types are..
Mark Levin is smarter and has better credentials than every lib talk show host in country combined…
Apparently, being a "birther" immediately trumps all of that and puts one in the right wing side.
Is there some sort of scoring system? -2 for 9/11 truther and +1 billion for Obama birther beliefs or something?
What does Mark Levin have to do with comments made Mr.Smith?
Or the savage murder in Arkansas of a white news women in her bed by a ex-con , er can we say it? Con criminal of the African persuasion…the Muslims breeding in our federal penitentaries and state jails are a ticking bomb; our IDIOT POTUS thinks some actual born and bred Muslim fanatics heaped on top is just a dandy idea. Those Gitmo pigs will be CELEBRITIES to the American born Jihad incubating there.
I watch Shep occasionally just to see his attempted macho presentation. He tries so hard to be clever, but isn't, he tries so hard to be profound, but isn't, he tries so hard to be mature, but isn't.
If FOX wants to keep him in his slot that's fine with me. He impacts nothing or no one.
Thanks for clearing that up for some Holly!!! Steven from KY might want to read that a few times and let it sink in. If I wanted opinion, I would watch MSNBC and the rest of the alphabet soup that gives commentary and not the news. Steven, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!!!!
Steven, KY: Only if you get over your worship of messiah-barry, along with the gov't run, drive-by media…
I have no problem with Mr. Smith showing his obvious dem-liberal beliefs, but to insult in this manner the majority of his audience…I'm sure his numbers will be DOWN in the near future.
Thanks!
I am a Kentuckian also, and "ditto" on that, Aleric.
My problem is Shep Smith is that he constantly talks over live footage. During a Blago press conference, he acted like it was Mystery Science Theater 3000 and would not stop with the smart aleck comments. So irritating.
The dirty little secret it that before Adolf Hitler joined the NAZI party and took it over, he wore the Red Arm Band of the Soviets. Its a myth, The NAZI's were nothing more than the other side of communists , Adolf had more in common with Stalin than anything else. As for the this Germ. well its not like he was not known about. Not to long ago they had a shooting of a young lady at a College in CT, they knew about the guy too. There is really nothing that can be done about it till after the fact. Sad as it is. Its a slippery slope to start throwing people in jail for thoughts. On the other hand, there is no reason not to take steps to protect yourself From a known threat, not to do so is foolish. Its sad that the security guy lost his life, a vest would have helped in this case since it was a 22 RF. If the company he was working for didn't provide one, and if there was a felt need why not just go buy one? Seems to me its just like anything else we buy like a pair of shoes. I for one would buy a vest if It came down to it with out giving it a second though. Never wait for somebody to do for you when you can do for yourself. That is the real lesson here.
During the last eight years of the Bush presidency, I have never heard such hatred spewed from the left toward a president and his administration. There were some that went so far as to call for his capture and hanging. Shephard Smith, where were you when all of this was going on? Where was your outrage and your concern about the hate and the violence that this was spawning? How about the plot uncovered just months ago by leftwing radicals to bomb the Republican National Convention? I don't recall you speaking out on this and tying it to Democrats. Either start reporting fairly or move to CNN or perhaps MSNBC where this kind of nonsense is encouraged.
Smith's whole schtick as long as he's been at Fox has been sticking commentary into the news, usually as sardonic mock-afterthoughts delivered with a straight face.
Something tells me this guy is a lot more interesting than he's let on… presumably we'll find out if and when Fox cans him for going "off the reservation." Too bad, he's good at his job…
Shephard Smith is a douche bag. MSNBC beckons you Shep, please jump ship ASAP.
"Shepard Smith is a drag queen"
Oops, did I say that? I swear it's his eyebrows and makeup…
(I'm just kidding of course…)
At some point, SOMEONE at Fox was going to undergo a massive crisis of conscience…
…Would ANYONE have guessed it would be Shephard Smith?
Shephard has always been an idiot, related to Biden.
Mr. Smith is an entertainer or editorialist, right? I mean he's not paid to report the 'facts' is he? He can just make them up or color them however he wants, right?
I didn't notice his asides as much until the Presidential election. At the time gas prices were really high (over $4.00 a gallon) and people were starting with the "drill baby drill" chant, he kept throwing out some really derisive comments, sarcastically saying "oh that'll be good for the environment." First time I've ever, as an adult, wanted to hit someone.
Nah, I can't see them canning him Bob… he's got his own political opinion and that's fine.. and as Nick has said before about TV and stuff… as long as he brings in the ratings, they're happy. Ailes and Murdoch are businessmen.
(oh yeah.. the old show was the "G-Spot"… i never understood that name…
"Cited the OctoNazi attack as yet another example of “intolerance and bigotry” by “a certain segment of the population” who simply cannot “accept that a black man has been elected president”!
Now where did Shep get that crazy idea?
Oh.
"witnesses said he was wearing a confederate soldier’s cap and a long coat, which he may have worn to conceal what police describe as an early-1900s rifle.
On his website he complained, "Conservatives were all talk and no action"
Maybe he drove a hybrid.
I can't beleive he made a comment like this! Maybe he's ready to come out of the closet now? There is a movie in theaters that talks about closeted gays in politics. Shepard Smith was one of them.
You're absolutely correct; normally, when we say "neo-conservative," we Leftists do indeed mean "Jew." Curse you for figuring it out! How can I evade your razor intellect, oh Midnight Rambler? We'll have to find a new word.
Yeah …Yeah ..Something like that.
Yes! Yes we are! We are anti-American! We *hate* America! We just are staying here to sodomize each other in front of your children and desecrate the flag before flying off to France to have breakfast with Hugo Chavez! We shall not rest until America smolders, and the national flag is two Muslims copulating while Sean Penn laughs.
WeaponX , you get the prize. I think you are the first person to apply logic to the scenario. Well done
No, you're thinking of the three time slots following his.
You are absolutely correct! There is *totally* a link between being gay and saying OctoNazi was perhaps conservative leaning. There's no two ways about it.
Hey Skip, nice website! How much did it cost to fly in somebody from 1996 to do the design?

…um, no.
Here's a little Secret of the Universe I stumbled upon once as a lad. The one true indicator of homosexuality is… being sexually attracted to members of the same sex. Anything else is nonsense.
Shephard's just being a dufus.
Shep has been compromised since he broke down and cried like a little girl on that viaduct, on camera, during Katrina.
Shep Smith has disappointed a lot of people with his uneducated comments.Just read the news shep!!
I caught te same segment of newscast, Mr. Konig! I had just returned from a run, and couldn't find the remote fast enough to switch Shep off! What a pantload! Octonazi (great name BTW!) was NOT a vet of the kind THe Napster was intent on vetting, and even Shep should have realized that! However, I think Shep's emotional breakdown in New Orleans has only been placated by the election of The One, and it shatters Smith's religious worldview that such atrocities could occur under The One's Reign. Also, can't any of the Fox women explain to Shep that makeup doesn't have to mimic the Joker?
The Octo Nazi championed leftist causes…Socialism, 9/11 truther, and hatred of jews. These are the same ideologies that are being heaped upon the American people by the current Administration. There is no right wing affiliation with that man. He is a leftist
Actually, I'm just trolling, but I can't believe someone actually gave that a +1. Time to reward myself with more coffee.
And yet he also believed Obama was born in Kenya and that the right-wing in this country was too "pacifist" when it came to fighting Leftists.
Strange.
As I said earlier, he hated both the Right and the Left, and trying to tie him to one side is pathetic.
I think Steve from KY needs to say that out loud somewhere in Kentucky where the other red neck ditto heads can hear him…..what would happen next would be at least as funny as watching Letterman explain his asinine antics to Todd Palin.
Shep Smith is working hard towards moving down in this world for a future job at MessNBC. He is definitely the weakest link at Fox. I have wanted him removed for as long as I have seen him, since the first time he showed how stupid he is. He rarely backs up his personal opinion (which he gives often) with actual facts.
I have no personal knowledge of Shephard Smith, but his rapid-fire way of speaking and talking over guests, live shots, etc, without ever coming up for air, are the classic signs of a COKE-HEAD!
There is much evil in this world, and the most dangerous form of danger is when evil people have control over their government and then take more and more control and place it into fewer and fewer governmental hands. As our founders said, if your government is strong enough to give you everything you want then they are strong enough to take away everything that you have. Now, what current world leader is making moves to get more governmental control of an entire nation into fewer and fewer hands?
Lola, more than likely Steve fromKY is a transplant. He's probably from Chicago (we export a lot of our Nut-Bags to Kentucky) They cluster down there in little pockets, kinda like roaches, and rip on the locals behind thier backs. All the while singng the praises of how wonderfully laid back Kentucky is and how they wouldn't live anywhere else.
Well, the balls are all white.
Does that make me a racist?
A friend of mine from Chicago and I were discussing the differences between Chicago and Kentucky (where he and I both live now). I told him (paraphrasing): "No matter what people from Chicago say about Kentucky, for the rest of our lives we can say to them – you inflicted Obama on the rest of us by giving him political power in the first place."
I've enjoyed Shep from time to time. His infamous J-Lo slip-up is priceless. Less known is the incident where Shep had to say the name "Lisa Leslie" THREE TIMES before he was able to do it without a Freudian slip (first saying "Lisa Lezzie", then "Lisa Lesbie" before he hard-stopped and said the name right). I SAW and heard that one live – unfortunately, I've never found it on video…
He's amusing, yes – but Shep's never struck me as especially bright…
On behalf of the few sane (i think I am one?) peoples left in the state of Illinois. I apologize for inflicting this "Walking, Talking, Venereal Disease On The Nation" ……….So Sorry…………..
I guess he puts the 'boob' in boob tube.
He's now taking makeup tips from the boy's in "Poison"
Regardless of Smith's politics, he jumped the shark back during the Katrina coverage. He's so over-the-top with his dramatics….it's all very ghey. He must have pictures of somoene at Fox to keep his job.
Do you watch his show? It's not about his views. He's an idiot who thinks he's on a drama on TV.
Doesn't it look like Shepherd Smith uses "guyliner"?
I now watch Lou Dobbs instead on CNN when Smith comes on – Lou Dobbs is discussing substantive issues from a libertarian/conservative/patriot perspective while Shep Smith is just trying to sound cool and hip while discussing mostly trivial fluff.
Shep has a nice voice, which he used to sell his melo-dramatic moments, because unlike Mark Levin, he does hot have the intellect to sell the argument with any logic or hard data—unlike Mr. Levin.
Okay, I don't get something: Two nutjobs shoot and kill one person each, and they're held up as examples of Republicans/veterans/anti-abortionists, etc. But like a bajillion Islamic extremists kill thousands of people in embassies and air planes and tall buildings and pentagon-shaped buildings, and they're not representative of Muslims?
I don't equate Joe Mohammed down the street with terrorists. I just want the same consideration.
Going way back to JFK Jr's death in 1999, Fox News used to take on air calls from its viewers. Anyway, two or three days into the search, I remember Shep hosting a block, I believe with Bridget Quinn and they took a call from a viewer that said something along the lines of "Can you guys cover some of the other news going on right now? This guy is nobody important and the nonstop 24/7 coverage of watching the ocean and the nonstop adulation is getting old." Shep tore the guy up and down, completely belittling him and giving him a "how dare you" type lecture on how JFK Jr was so important to America.
I started avoiding him then… I rarely watch the 7pm block since he took it over and if I catch the 3pm slot, it's by complete accident. I don't need his brand of condescending elitism regarding people he disagrees with. If he wants to be hard news, then he needs to be hard news and keep the opinions to himself.
Ever since I saw his overly emotive, whining and grossly inaccurate reporting on Hurricane Katrina in N.O., I thought Shep was just plain not very bright and an obviously shallow handmaiden of whatever forces were mustering against the Bush administration at the time. For this reason alone, I can usually not stomach watching him, bedecked in his exaggerated makeup and sporting his honeyed and just ever-so-slightly Southern accent, for more than five minutes or so while I feed my dogs in the kitchen, unable to rush to the TV in time to turn the channel. This incident, in "reporting" the link between Napalotano's anti-military paranoid screeds at DHS and the homicidal WWII vet, who most ironically harbored a "modern" and Progressive leftwing list of enemies – Jews, Bush, "neo-conservatives", etc. – is just one more nail in the coffin of my clear disregard for Shep.
(continued) I certainly would not wish to see him leave his mostly anonymous slot at 7:00pm on Fox, as he there fulfills some of Fox's bonifides as a more even-handed reporter of current events than the mainstream press while, because of his insipid nature, he has almost no effect in shaping the opinions of those who have just finished with Beck and are waiting for O'Reilley.
So, let's hoist a pint to Shep, and may his mostly foolish, uninformed and not-too-bright career continue, showing us all how very confused and dense a man of his caliber can be. Goodniight all.
The old nazi hated jews most of all. Like Barry´s former mentor. I say Rev. Wright made him do it!
I say Obama´s jew hating former mentor made him do it.
Actually it might be a great time for Shep to replace that Schultz guy whose ratings are dropping faster than Matt Lauer during an Obama interview.
Touche.
Thanks for stating this – I have been sick of how poorly the death of the recruiter was compared to the death of the security guard. No murder is ok, but when I was listening to the mayor and FBI guy, you could have said the same about the Arkansas murder, but they didn't. I too was shocked by what Shepard Smith said and asked why was there no outrage against the Muslim shooter – he was home-grown. Anyway, thanks again for making this point
If you complain too much about Muslims being savages you get worldwide riots and death threats.
It's safer to call Republicans/veterans/anti-abortionists violent savages since they really aren't.
Or, more succinctly, the folks smearing Republicans/veterans/anti-abortionists are cowardly liars.
Don't forget Christians, it's open season.
Not if your caddy is black.
Yeah, the pansies need a safe target for their two-minutes hate.
Nice shot at the … content there, Miles.
*MissQuinn*
And Von Brunn hated Christians, too.
Huh? Spewing irrelevancies is straying from alleged "talking points"? If there WERE talking points, Smith wouldn't have been able to utter this silliness, would he? But typical of so many people who can't stand differences of opinion, you fail to address the content and think you are offering an argument or a position by slapping a label on someone. <and btw, you don't know what "dittohead" even means.>
You might find it interesting to know that the shooter is a self-described socialist. With that in mind, you will probably find a way to like him, now.
True, though some make the presumption that all those icky people who disagree with them are automatically Christians.
Only two? Seems to be longer than that.
How long does Olbermann's "Worst Person in America" rant last?
I agree. My son and I laugh at Jerry Rivers. What I really find offensive about Smith is his on camera flirting with female staff, esp. Skinner. It got so bad I stopped watching and Fox news lost a viewer for that hour. When I see Smith, I turn the channel.
Ask someone who watches it. ;p
