The Taxpayers Prize Patrol
by Daniel J. FlynnStage Right explains, “There is a problem with the American Theatre.” But American street theatre, if judging from the The Taxpayers Clearing House Prize Patrol, offers no similar cause for concern. No budget? No problem. Conscript Senators Chuck Schumer and Olympia Snowe as unwilling players in your drama. Use AIG’s headquarters and the U.S. Capitol as a set. Rain dollar bills upon the Secretary of the Treasury as if he were a stripper. That’s just what a bunch of twentysomething amateur thesbians did in their hilarious guerrilla theater YouTube short, The Taxpayers Clearing House Prize Patrol.

One of the best video clips I've seen on YouTube. I laughed until my ribs hurt. The bit about Olympia Snowe was priceless. Sad, but true.

This gives me "hope".
I got a tingle up my leg.
Seriously, Right.Org. , thanks. .
Awesome way to make the point to people that insist "we have to do something!" LOL
Feckkin' brilliant. And the best the GOP can come up with is a bumper sticker with the wrong idea on it. …that they want to sell to raise money.
The GOP has proven to be pretty hopeless at coming up with good messages — likely because they don't know what they stand for. Spend some time visiting their website, it's down right awful.
Funny as can be. 10 thumbs up!
Now if only the GOP could get its act together…….but I do have hope. A little.
How about the GOP print billions of them and give them to the banks?
Our best hope is deh fuhrer Hussien Obama will continue to botch things so badly that the American voter final removes their head from his rear orifice.
Actually, it's "thespians." I've seen this before but I didn't think of the throwing money at Geithner thing as throwing money at a stripper until you mentioned it. Damn. They got him good.
On O'Reilly last night, Bill had some Democrat strategist on. She spoke of checks and balances, how if stuff doesn't work out, voters will pick someone else next election. Bill then asked, "So if the stimulus fails, and the recession becomes a depression, you'll vote Republican?" The look on the Dem's face was priceless. Deer in the headlights. Sheepishly: "I would never vote outside my party."
Sadly, I don't think she's the only one who thinks that way. You'll need an excavation crew and world class spelunkers to get the America Voter's head back where it should be.
That was brilliant. I must donate to their cause so they can continue their worthy work and deduct my donation from my income tax. I can get double the pleasure, double the fun!
Brilliant stuff.
Caps off an afternoon started at the tea party in Chicago.
Dissent makes one feel so….patriotic.
Every single person I know is getting a link to this page with a special note to watch our absolutely clueless Senator on the Youtube clip. As far as most Republicans in Maine are concerned, you can wave Bye-Bye to Olympia and Susan at their next re-elections.
Taxes, you're going to pay taxes? Why? That's so 2008.
jackinmaine,
I seriously hope so. I do know one thing the Dems do better. They target. That's the only thing they seem to be able to do correctly. People like Kos, will pick whichever pol he wants removed, then put the word out for the libs to work against this person, and raise money for their guy. And it works. Not saying they don't suck at DK, they do, but this is the way to do it. Alinsky's rules, remember?
Uh people, Abbie Hoffman did almost the exact same act of "political theater" when he dropped dollar bills onto the floor of the NYSE 40 years ago.
Who said anything about paying taxes? I'm just going to deduct…all deductions all the time. Isn't that what rich people do? They don't pay no stinkin' taxes.
Uh, George, the NYSE wasn't taxing citizens to pay for government handouts. And besides, theatrical revivals are hot property right now.
True but that's okay. They meant to pay, they just forgot. Republicans do it on purpose! Those mean ol' Republican rich people. At this rate the O will have to go through every Democrat to finally find someone to serve as Commerce Secretary, but the good news is we will increase the tax revenue. There's always a bright side!
That was funny! There is “hope” for the furure.
Correction: Rich Democrats don't pay taxes. Unless Obama appoints them to his cabinet, of course.
