Beauty Queen Vs. Drama Queen
by CW RawlinsThe Match Up:
- The Beauty Queen – Ms. Carrie Prejean – Miss California, now Miss USA 2009 Runner Up.
- The Drama Queen – Perez Hilton. He has a B.A. in drama, is a gay activist blogger, and co-opted his professional name from a celebrity with whom he has a personal fascination. He was a judge in the Miss USA pageant.
Ms. Prejean was the underdog. She’s not a slugger. She’s just a dumb blonde, right?
Mr. Hilton, on the other hand is the notorious gay activist blogger – a verbal street brawler known for picking and winning fights by jumping victims in back alleys and clobbering them with whatever he can get his hands on - pipes, tire irons, beer bottles.
On the surface, the pageant appeared to be a well refereed event. Even Hilton looked freshly scrubbed and donned a toothy grin throughout the evening. But the fix was in. What we didn’t see was that Hilton had a horseshoe hidden in his right glove. This was one match he wasn’t going to lose – not on national television. He figured he had one punch and it had to be a knock out.
There they stood, face to face – both representing different philosophies, opposing beliefs. The moment dripped with anticipation. Then Hilton threw his punch. Gay Marriage! Of course. What else from Hilton. Yes, the hotly debated issue of redefining marriage to include gay unions was supposed to be a knockout punch. But it only grazed her chin. She stumbled slightly, recovered and shot back her reply. According to her, the definition of marriage should remain as it has been defined throughout the history of our country – between a man and a woman.
She knew it wasn’t PC. But she was, after all, Miss “California” - a state that just voted (Prop Eight) to uphold the current definition of marriage. She is also a woman of faith – holding a belief consistent with the majority of the state of California (not to mention consistent with Pres. Obama and Hillary Clinton). But more importantly, her answer was authentically truthful to her own personal beliefs.
The camera cut to Hilton in time to catch his jaw drop – his face crestfallen. If you listened closely enough you could even hear the horseshoe fall out of his glove. This was clearly not the answer he expected. Who in this world has the temerity to proclaim a personal position so politically incorrect on national television? Apparently there’s one person – Ms. Prejean. Doesn’t she know that people like Hilton can destroy her? That she might never work in this town again? And even more tragic, she may never get invited to a Janeane Garofalo Oscar party?
For Ms. Prejean, it was clearly a seminal moment in her life – with defining clarity and simplicity she expressed a personal belief. Standing for something, and telling the world doesn’t need to be complicated. I wonder if any of our politicians were watching?
Now if Hilton had even a modicum of self respect he would have gone home and licked his wounds. But pathetically, Hilton couldn’t contain his rage. It’s as if he decided to continue his brawl in the parking lot where he caught up to Ms. Prejean and sucker punched her getting into her car. And while she was down, he continued to wail on her.
You’ve all seen the clips by now. Hilton viciously berated Miss California on TV and YouTube, calling her a “bitc*” and reportedly a “cun*”. And where does this rage come from? Ms. Prejean shared her beliefs.
As America struggles to reclaim its soul and find true leaders for the future, regardless of political philosophy, you have to admire any display of bravery, courage, or sacrifice made on behalf of “principle.”
Miss California has transcended beauty queen status. She is now much more than a pinup girl for our soldiers. She is a soldier – and leading a charge.
As for the pageant “judge”, he set aside any pretense of objectivity and egregiously used his position of power to advance his cause. When he ranted that if Miss California would have somehow won the crown, “I shi* you not, I would have gone up on that stage, I would have snatched that tiara off her head and run out the door!!!” – you have to ask. Who at the pageant organization thought it was a good idea to make a bigoted heterophobe a pageant judge?
Maybe that person is Keith Lewis- co executive director of the pageant – or maybe his boss Donald Trump? Trump ducked responsibility for Hilton’s assignment on Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor. Lewis stated (speaking of himself) that he “…is saddened and hurt that Miss California believes that marriage belongs only to a man and a woman.” Well I’m saddened that Keith Lewis is saddened.
Help me out here. The directors of the pageant are offended when a contestant expresses a belief contrary to theirs? – a viewpoint which by the way is mainstream – nothing radical about it. So, help me out here. Is being guilty of such an offense a de facto disqualifier for contestants? If so, disclose it to the contestants in advance. Flat out tell them what beliefs are acceptable to the committee, and which ones are not – which religions and churches can be attended and which ones can’t.
Hey, why not issue a booklet to contestants containing all the acceptable answers and viewpoints of the committee. Give them time to consider the option ahead – when they’re in the spotlight and they may need to choose to abandon their core principles for the sake of receiving the tiara……. Tiara, or beliefs.
In fact, just send out a mass email to the country with all the acceptable positions of the committee and forego the charade of running the pageant as a propaganda machine?
Maybe the title of this piece should have been Beauty and the Beast. And the Beast isn’t confined to Perez Hilton. You decide.

If you want to know who won this contest, I would sum it up thusly. . .
Prejean has a world of opportunity ahead of her and a reputation that will draw people to her. Who knows what she may achieve.
Hilton has peaked, and all he managed to achieve was to become a parody of the "angry queen" — and he doesn't even do good drag.
Winner, Prejean. Hilton, loser.
The Thought Gestapo was dealt a devastating blow. But never fear. After a few all-night benders on peruvian marching powder – draino to the cognitive dissonance – they'll be back on their feet, punishing you for your thoughts, comrade.
I agree. I don't know who won Miss USA, but I know who Miss Prejean is.
And what a Perez Hilton is.
btw, I'm having a hard time thinking what she looks like in the morning pre-jeans.
She wins! She wins! Go, California!
Judgment for the Respondent Prejean. Objection to Hilton's rant sustained as incompetent, irrelevant, immaterial, outside the province of the jury, and icky.
I liked how they treated her as if her views were radical. Uh, no. Not to the vast majority of America. Go back 20 yrs. If a pageant contestant had of said she thought all gays should be married with the full rights of heteros she would have been vilified by the rest of America.Just because views have changed in some parts of the country, the vast majority of people still vote no when offered the chance to vote on this issue. These pageants have turned into something owned outright by the Gay Mafia. I just don't get how being true to yourself is ever a bad thing. I vote her as Megyn Kelly's morning replacement while the lovely Ms. Kelly goes on her soon to be maternity leave. I think she would be great. This pageant had the worst ratings to date, so I am not the only one who thinks they need to go away.
Miss California could have answered Hilton's question this way "No, I do not think that every state should follow suit because I believe that a traditional marriage is between a man and a woman. However, I am in no position to decide if every state should follow suit or not. As a future Miss USA, it is my job not to be a politician but to be someone who represents and inspires the women and the troops, and I think it's great that the states get to decide for themselves." There! Hilton would have given her a higher score than 0.
I like that term "Heterophobe" we should hit the real haters with that term at every opportunity. We need to show that the days of running and silencing ourselves just because they get loud and start name calling is over. Our representatives in government have been running and hiding and look where it has gotten us. From now on "heterophobes" , liberal racists and tax and spenders beware, your day of scaring good people into silence is over.
Quite frankly, the term "faggot" seems to cover it fairly well. If those bastards are allowed to use "homophobe", then turn-about is damn well fair play.
And world peace. The whole thing was a setup, and there was nothing she could have said that would have made a bit of difference unless she announced she was marrying Miss New Jersey.
I used "heterophobe" in my recent rant, just before I found out that whole thing was a spoof.
I've never had any major objections to gay marriage– it just isn't a hot button for me. But the way it's been shoved in our faces, especially here in California, is not helping their cause. When I see someone like Hilton (or whatever his name is) treat someone like Prejean just because she has another view, I get angry. I'm normally not a vindictive person, but now I'm not so sure I would support the rights of gay people to marry just because of stunts just like this.
I have spent many a sleepless night lately, tossing and turning, worrying about how PH has been so emotionally violated, by all of the mean and hateful words, that have been said about him for just expressing his feelings about this…this…blond conservative floozy from California. (She does have adorable lips though.)
All I can say to you homophobe haters is… LEAVE PEREZ ALONE! *sniff sniff*
I feel better now. I think I’ll go have a nice hot bath now…yes, that’s it, a hot bath, and maybe give myself a pedicure…good then, a hot bath, a pedicure and an ice cold margarita, one without the salt on the rim, that would be just too uncivilized and is just terrible for my boyish completion dontcha know.
OK then, that's what I'll do then, OK?..I said OK!…YOUR NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO ME! *Sniff*
Not Over.
Well said. And let me add, that I was so much happier before I knew what a Perez Hilton.
Go Colorado!
I would be opposed to allowing Perez Hilton to marry. . . anyone or anything.
Yeah, you were on fire. We were worried about you man.
By the way, I have to tell you, I still chuckle when I think "just kidding, of course." Classic!
It's the ultimate expression of "tyranny of the 'oppressed'" — which wouldn't work unless the supposedly heartless, cruel "majority" weren't decent folks who want to be fair and don't wake up in the morning wanting to hurt others, even those they disagree with. If they were the evil oppressors that these special-interest activists claim they are, it would never work. And yet it does — but not here, and that's not because Prejean has hate in her heart, but instead love. Anyone can see the difference in character between Hilton and Prejean. He wants to demonize and destroy her, she disagrees with him but wishes him well. Who's the oppressor here?
The whole thing is funny. He didn't have the courage to take her on face to face so he took his little pity party to the Internet and it backfired. It's also good that it is showing how perverse the judges are in their Al Gorish opposition to opposing views. I'm sure next year someone will petition to have trans gender pregnant people allowed in so the minority can jump up and clap when they come out in their one-piece swimsuit.
I'm going to take a wild guess that Perez Hilton voted for Barack Obama. Where does Barack Obama stand on gay marriage? In exactly the same place as Miss Prejean. I have yet to hear Perez Hilton call Barack Obama, who's opinion actually matters on political issue like this, the kind of vicious names he used against this young 20 something beauty queen. I guess it's just easier to pick on the girl.
Way to stand up Perez. Real courage.
I doubt that Osama really opposes gay marriage. He does, however, understand which way the public votes. And like many politicians, he is willing to say what he thinks he needs to say to win the election. If Osama had been on that show and had been asked that question, how do you think he would have responded? Especially if he thought that it wouldn't get out to the general public? And I have no doubt that response would have been much closer to his REAL position than anything he says in a campaign.
In future before they answer, they too should ask a question. "Do you want my true feelings or do you want me to tell a lie in my answer?"
That should clear the air.
Perez Hilton is one of the human grotesqueries the sump dump of Holly-Would spits up from its bowels every season – phony name, phony persona, a tiny, overcooked, screaming ego – a creature inevitably destined to resubmerge into oblivion and rejoin that town's other countless waste products.

Colorado? Isn't that somewhere in Mexico? Your gal doesn't qualify. On the other hand, the Beach Boys did do that song "I Wish They All Could Be Colorado Girls," so you may have a point for the Miss Universe contest.
But I wasn't kidding about "just kidding," or was I? It's all very confusing.
Colorado is to the right of California, but then what isn't. . .
So you're kind of indifferent on this issue?
They don't call us the left coast for nothing. California isn't even to the right of Hawaii.
They don't call us the left coast for nothing. California isn't even to the right of Hawaii.
The new Miss USA has already caved into "polotical correctness" of "man on man " and "woman on woman" marriage, I guess the padgent people got to her. The runnerup is the REAL winner!
you are correct in the long term- Ms Prejean has a real career in front of her, and with looks like that she scores big. This other twit will have a nice short term gain with his immediate community he is a 'star' now and probably getting some tabs (and certain other things) picked up…

Like you, I don't doubt that Obama is pro gay marriage in his heart. But he cannot deny that he was openly against it during the campaign. To my knowledge he hasn't changed that stance. So the question remains, where are the pro gay marriage ranters like Perez Hilton when it comes to Obama? Obama's (and Hillary Clinton's) anti-gay marriage position holds far more political weight than some little beauty queen.
Will Obama be challenged on this poition in public, and will he defend it or openly change it, making himself an clear liar post campaign? And if he does change his campain position on gay marriage, what excuse can he use?
He's going to make one sad, wrinkly, washed old Queen….one room cold water walkup off the really bad part of Sunset strip…dragging his groceries behind him in a little roller basket…dirty little Yorkie yapping at everybody…dead flowers over his dingy sink…sad, really sad….
for the first time in my life, I'm proud to say that i live in CA
Any pageant that ends without Miss Texas as the winner is RIGGED! We grow 'em by the bushel basket out here, in The Woodlands and Plano and walking around the campus at the Univ. of Texas…Miss Cal. is gorgeous though.
This is not the HuffPo or Daily Kos. Kindly watch the language, or post there.
It's a strange accident of geography that our country has two left coasts.
It's a strange accident of geography that our country has two left coasts.
I feel the same way. I really am not opposed to gay marriage, but I voted for Prop 8 as a protest because I didn't like how people's lawns were vandalized simply because they had a Prop 8 sign.
After their loss, watching them attack churches with hate speech made me proud of my vote. I would reconsider if they reached out to the community with kindness and humility, but I'm not seeing that right now.
AWWW CRAP! Don't make me hand deliver a P38, half a box of rats, half canteen of water, and a Zippo. And I'll do it with my RIP hat on. Pull yourself together man.
Her lips ain't the only adorable thing she has either.
I completely agree — he's peaked. This is as good as it's going to get for him.
P.S. I'll reply to your other post (on Apoc. Now) as soon as I can get to it. I can't open the thread right now.
Again, my reply vanished. Shoot. No, now it's back.
Again, my reply vanished. Shoot. No, now it's back.
The absolute best part of this whole debacle was when Perez said (and I paraphrase) "A president belongs to a party and has to go along with, you know, ideologies. He's not supposed to represent ALL americans. Miss USA is supposed to be a representative of ALL americans. She should be a uniter not divisive."
Too funny.
I sent another comment to the administrator, including your comment, just in case he thinks I'm making this crap up. Next time, I'll send it in bold, italics and underlined. I'm loving our friend for showing us how to do that.
Troublemaker.
If someone was asked about their beliefs regarding legalising polygamy and polyandry, by someone who supports it, and said that they oppose it, would it be justified to call the opposer horrible names? Would people be justifying that on the grounds that the person who opposes it is a "bigot"? Of course not, but the idea that it's okay to do so with someone who has a slightly different definition of marriage to a large minority has a surprisingly large following. What is the matter with these people?
It only took six clicks on my e-mail notification link to get here to say
I am not a troublemaker!
PS: Thanks, Kadaka
yeah- free admittance to the 'specialty bar' of his choice will be about it…
AGREED, THANKS KADAKA!!
By the way, try this — I'm having success, when it won't load fully, giving someone a thumbs up and then re-loading the page. That seems to work.
Ummm, does anyone else see the irony in the fact that a judge and the directors of a BEAUTY PAGEANT – the ultimate heterosexual display – are espousing GAY marriage and are offended that a contestant in a BEAUTY PAGEANT came out in favor of heterosexuality?????
I did not know what Perez Hilton was before this event. I am no better for it.
However, Miss CA is hot.
Next question!
I used two clicks on the ID e-mail link to get here, but next time I'll try your method. We shouldn't have to be drunken computer programmers to be able to find a simple comment.
I am confused Carrie Prejean has the same stated view as Obama, Clinton and Biden. Who is out of step with the norm then, Perez and the media for how they portray this issue? Gee you think someone may have a agenda?
Consider it a challenge. It's like exercise for your mind.
I lost that a long time ago. But I tried your trick, and sonofagun if it didn't work. Damn clever you lawyers.
I said the same thing on another blog recently. I used to be open to listening to Gay Marriage Rights. With the way those in the Gay Mafia act, they have made me where I'm not willing to listen to anything they have to say. Gays who don't think this crap is right need to stand up and fight against it. Otherwise the Perez H type are setting them back 25 yrs at least.
Wow, Justin, could you be more graphically gross? Nevermind, I don't want to know. I think you might want to find somewhere else to spew that kind of stuff, we don't care for it here.
I want to know why the Donald had two gay (heterophobe) peeps judging this contest, Its like having a Basketball Coach ref a tennis match, I don't get it. And what exactly is a Perez Hilton anyway?
No, no, no, no, NO!
Thanks to ego narcissist, Perez Hilton, Ms. Prejean's star power has risen to the surface while the fat that is gossip whore, Perez Hilton, has flattened out & about to removed by a whisk. He does not even make good flavoring! It's like the burnt fat you find in the pan after the good stuff is used. Miss California has a bright future all thanks to some evil gossip hack without a modicum of dignity.
Thanks Perez Hilton.
Maybe his publicist got him the gig?
Well, I did the Kadaka trick wrong and got a real weird looking italic OK because I forgot to close one of the commands. But, anyway OK, I promise I won't do it.
Fifth time for me. The first two were when Reagan was elected governor, the second two when he was elected President.
Use a search engine and type in Perez Hilton
Use those photos instead of the fake images he presents on tv
He is a freak
Donald trump should be ashamed of himself for hiring this guy and trying to ruin a young womens dreams
To answer IMPALER'S Post, What is a PEREZ HILTON . A PEREZ HILTON is a Fruit which is indigenous to most Major cities in the US of A most notably NEW YORK AND LOS ANGLES. It's also been found in Europe PARIS, LONDON , BERLIN. Don't go near IT'! It's Poisonous!
My first reaction to Perez Hilton's bigoted rant was anger and disgust. My second reaction was fear when the pageant officials SUPPORTED his bigotry – indeed, the officials even gave their own swift kick to Miss Prejean.
Now that I've gotten hold of my fear, however, I am trying to see all this in the best light possible. Namely that this disgusting attack of the gay nazis against others can serve to make the rest of this country aware of the unhinged, vicious hatred of gay fascism AND those spineless individuals who support it. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought their was a rider in the last stimulus bill to create a department whose job had that very purpose in mind.
C'mon LadyhawkSF,
He already does post in both those places.
He is what they call a "Conservative" impersonator. It's all the rage there he just wanted to give us the honor of seeing it over at Big H. Guess he just does not understand the audience here, does he.
not me…
Mark,
This assumes that he really cares about the constituency to begin with. If this were not an issue by a democratic lobbying group he probably would not give an answer at all.
I wish Miss Prajean was a little more mischeivous and clever.
How cool would it have been for her to start off with the people's right to choose line but then venture into I voted for Barack Obama and he said that he opposed gay marraige and that made me think maybe by minister's were right and marraige should be between a man and a woman.
That would have sent these liberal's heads into a tailspin.
I don;t know a black widow spider would make a good mate for him or maybe a praying mantis or any other insect that eays it's mate after copulation.
Aeeeeeiiiiiiiigh!
Already where i 1GooDDaDDy and what have you done with him……
I'm no lady, that was my wife.
I kinda figured he was, but I haven't been to either of those sites in a very long time. I can only take the f-bomb just so many times before any meaning on a site ceases to exist.
Glad to know we're all watching out for them and not making some foolish mistake by taking the bait.
Hey everyone, did you hear there was some kinda beauty contest? I heard Paris Hilton won or something?
I think most Americans believe the way Miss CA does.
The gay mafia makes gay marriage seem like a right. It's not a right, it's a privilege granted to us by the state. As soon as we vote in that change (per state) they can marry away.
Gays have the same rights as everyone else as granted to us by the constitution.
Class begats class.
Trash begats trash!
Ms. Prejean showed what kind of person she is. By his actions, Hilton has alienated many who could have been symptathic to his cause.
Ok, I'd agree to that narrow exception.
ok for those of us just joining, and who can't get the threads to open
How do we underline?
Italics?
I married a Plano girl. Oh yeah
Perez Hilton: a great excuse to gay bash!
"that's hot!"
"that's hot!"
Buckwheat, You DA MAN!
That answer only works when you're answering sane, honorable, and tolerant people. Hilton and his ilk don't fall in that category.
Given the prizes and futue value Miss California lost by what appears a totally inappropriate question, I'm amazed someone hasn't sued. Having paid no price for their activism, I wouldn't be surprised to see these people emboldened to keep on keepin on.
Beautiful imagery. Post of the month!
Thought experiment #1:
Suppose Miss Prejean had answered this way:
"On August 16, 2007 during his campaign, President Obama said: 'I am a Christian… and I believe that marriage should be the union between a man and a woman.' I agree with President Obama on this issue."
It would be interesting to see how different the reaction might have been.
Thought experiment #2:
Suppose Miss California was an immigrant Muslim and gave the same answer as Miss Prejean. The reaction would likely have been very different. Many on the left would have given her a pass on the grounds that we need to "respect cultural differences." Which raises the question: why do traditional Muslim beliefs deserve a pass but traditional Christian beliefs do not?
Vermont? LOL
On November 4, 2008, I was ambivalent about gay marriage. I actually considered voting against Prop. 8, considering the gay friends I have that would actually like to be married. Ultimately, I voted for it, but I figured it would be just a matter of time before I'd eventually vote in favor of gay marriage. Just two days after that election, I vowed that I would never, ever, ever vote for gay marriage, after seeing the rage the losing side exhibited following the election. Gay activists bullied a restaurant owner at a local Mexican restaurant and by the end of that month, had published the names and addresses of donors to the pro-Prop 8 cause, and even posted a Google map of their addresses for the Bay Area and Orange County. Ever since, it seems like gays have made it their personal mission to harass and defame straight people. Never again will I consider gay marriage. Never again.
If for no other reason than to keep buttplugs like Perez Hilton in a permanent rage.
You make two VERY good points! I think you are absolutely right about the difference in reaction.
Hmmm. You seem to have found the exception that proves the rule! LOL!
Marriage and the benefits, specifically the tax breaks and shared benefits are for family forming, else they would not have a purpose, the moment they can fertilize a turd I'll bend on my stance against gay marriage.
Kadaka explained it to us. Apparently, you type in html? Type as follows:
1. shift and the comma (same time)
2. b, u, or i (bold, underline, italic)
3. shift and the period (same time)
4. type what you want written
5. shift and the comma (same time)
6. /
7. the same letter — b, u, or i
8. shift and period (same time)
That should work. Use your new power wisely… or don't.
Gays are pushing their agenda in all the wrong ways and become petutantly and viciously angry when thwarted. On Prop 8. On Carrie Prejean's answer. They push, push and push. I wasn't enough to have a civil union. NO…they want Gay Marriage. What an oxymoron! The entire issue is a complete farce of vicious and malicious people bullying their views on the majority of Americans and, so far, we have let them get away with it. Perhaps Ms. Prejean's answer might shame the meeker of our ilk to find a pair and an iron rod down their backs. If for now other reason, this incident would have proven useful. My hat is off to Carrie Prejean. She is a wonderful looking young woman and a true winner. I would like to hear politicians speak with one tenth of the conviction.
"Who at the pageant organization thought it was a good idea to make a bigoted heterophobe a pageant judge? "
Something I had been wondering all along.
Two great points my friend. On experiment # 1 They would have nodded their heads and smiled, glowed and repeatedly blinked their eyes and would have been all a flutter. On experiment #2 They would show respect , deference, meaningfulness and MUM'S would have been the word.. The answer to the third part of your question is the same, as I see it. They FEAR both… but for different reasons. Just one Americans opinion. Take Care. Good post.
I have to think that the people using the word "faggot" on this site are actually liberals who are trying to attack conservatives by trying to convince people that this is the way conservatives talk. In my time as a conservative I have never heard that word used by anyone who calls themselves a conservative. Please liberal attack machine, stop doing this. I'm on to you and I hope to alert as many people on this site as I can about what you are trying to do. From using the "N" word, to appearing in black face, to being mysoginistic, as well as racists and paternalistic, you liberals do all of this and yet blame conservatives for it. Wake up and stop it.
Stupid question to begin with. I think he would have showed his a$$ no matter how she answered it. The only thing he wanted to hear was "Oh, sure it should be legal everywhere". I agree with her grandmother Hilton should not be allowed to judge women he should be judging chippendales!
Trump said he likes all the attention the pageant has recieved. Wonder if he'll like it next year when no-one watches it?
I really don't think Ms. California did that great a job. We're kinda holding her up as this brilliant speaker – let's get real folks. She was all over the place and came off somewhat unintelligible (opposite marriage?). She didn't make a case for anything. All these summaries and alternative answers she could have given are 10 times more articulate than anything out of her purdy mouth.
Perez Hilton is a fascist Gay mafioso trying to extend his 15 minute minutes a few more precious seconds.
I'm pretty much on the fence on this gay marriage thing… but I cheered when Perez's jaw dropped and a good portion of the audience cheered at the smack down.
… just kinda nice to see an "awards" crowd cheer the opposite of what Hollywood thinks is so chic.
Hey, at least Vermont voted to be a bunch of crazies, unlike everywhere else in the country where it just gets imposed on them by the so-called judges.
And everybody knows about Miss California but who knows who won that event?
What I think is funny is whenever they asked Miss Prejean what she thought of the venom this idiot was spewing, she said that she pitied him. She PITIED him! The aim of the leftist kooks was obviously to make her cower into submission and give some weak excuse after the fact about the need to support gay rights and all, instead she pitied him! That alone must have made heads explode all over Hollywood–and San Francisco, for that matter.
What they've done is tarnish the hopes and dreams of future young girls. Shame on Donald Trump and the pagent directors; they should be sued! Perez Hilton needs his A$$ kicked, and Larry King needs to retire
Either South or North Carolina
Gospel, I have yet to see anyone applauding Miss Prejean for being a brilliant speaker. She is receiving praise for voicing her convictions despite the fact that she probably suspected it would have hurt her chances. That is called character.
The man who eventually marries this young woman will be the luckiest guy on the planet, not because she is drop dead gorgeous but because her heart is as beautiful as her face and body. Never before have I wished with such aplomb to be single and twenty years younger.
I thought Trump's unctuous evasiveness on O'Reilly was sickening. I suspect that his half-hearted attempts to defend her were due to having expressed to Miss Prejean that he wanted her for wife number 4 (or is it five?) and she being the good Christian girl that she is rejected him. I think it's been pretty well established that you couldn't fit this guy's ego in th Grand Canyon.
I've sent a few notes to the web powers that be about problems with collapsed threads here at BH over the last few weeks. Other than the auto acknowledgement, I've never gotten a reply. Have you or Andrew?
I love it! Gay Nazis – heil Perez Hitler! (let's see how the Left likes that moniker, since they've bestowed it upon Bush ad infinitum).
I think the term Militant Gay or HeteroHater would work better. Maybe Sodomite. The whole thing reminds me of a few lines from the first season of "Blackadder"
Edward Blackadder (after being threatened by the King do have done to him what God did to the Sodomer) – "Just what did God do to the Sodomer?"
Baldrick – "I don't know, but it can't be much worse than what they do to eachother"
I'm not helping am I. I should probably be banned for even metioning that.
True, but the way the article was written and many of the comments… it was like Prejean was some sort of blonde Barack Obama.
Good for her for trying to explain her thoughts under enormous pressure, but…. it still is just a beauty contest. And I don't think she knocked it out of the park.
BTW, I am in my twenties… and way way way single…. it sucks.
I haven't.
If the Miss USA wishes to avoid going the way of the Seattle PI and soon the New York Times, Keith Lewis should have his spineless carcass tossed to the street.
The Lady is now, ever more a lady.
Perez, a bigger looser than before.
15 years from now people will remember her and her positive answer.
Perez has used up his 15 minutes of fame.
Unfortunately, 'red', the Left won't like it one bit. If there's one thing they've made clear, it's that they can dish it out but they can't take it. No way Perez is ever going to recognize his own 'heil'.
'Mud', as it so happens, a prominent attorney at a major law firm here in San Francisco sent a screaming 'Perez' email to all of the attorneys 'outing' a Mormon attorney who'd donated money to Prop. 8. The screamer defamed the Mormon, went hysterical that it was bigotry on the Mormon's side and how all the REST of the attorneys would have to 'make up' for the Mormon by donating money to defeat Prop. 8. The clear implication was that if the other attorneys didn't, than the screaming attorney would turn on them as viciously as he did the Mormon. Sad to say, the firm was as a spineless to the screamer as the pageant was to Perez. Which proves that Perez is everywhere, not just in the Miss USA pageant.
And yeah, the screamer made me for even MORE determined to vote for Prop 8.

Now that same sex marriage is becoming acceptable, and same sex is legal, the next campaign is to criminalize heterosexual sex and to ban heterosexuals totally. That will normalize society, and bring peace, justice, love and happiness to all. Who wants ice cream?
"Do you believe in gay marriage?" is the "Are you now or have you ever been a communist?" question of our time. Those who answer honestly are banished to the corn field.
Yep, they want to stick it in our faces and play hardball, they should get it right back. Their tactics are despicable and they should be denied on that basis alone. I am beginning to see why homosexuals in every culture in the history of our species has been, at best tolerated and somehow they never wanted or needed to get married either. These rabid activists are ignoring what serves their best interests – tolerance. They want us to tolerate them but they won't reciprocate? Quit while you are ahead, homos, my tolerance is fading fast.
Great point.
Obama isn't supposed to represent ALL Americans? Very interesting insight into the leftist soul.
Donald Trump is an elitist, classless A-hole. He doesn't know or care. The fact that he has billions is an indication that something is wrong with our system, and I am an avowed capitalist!
"Prejean has a world of opportunity ahead of her and a reputation that will draw people to her. Who knows what she may achieve."
If nothing else, orange juice could always use a new spokeswoman…
Directly following trite reference to "the Gay Mafia":
"I just don't get how being true to yourself is ever a bad thing."
…
…anybody?
…that really doesn't look "off" to anyone else?
So… you'll hurt people you call your friends just to take a symbolic swipe at "enemies" you've never met because you don't like their tone when they get upset? Yeah, makes perfect sense.
Beauty Queens, e,r the contestants I mean, are not known for being policy wonks, and this is a difficult question to answer live in front of a potentially hostile audience. The question itself was highly inappropriate and there is no reason she should have anticipated it. And these nazis should not be rewarded by our caving to their demands, you will come to see that they are endless and that it does not solve anything on the macro level to go along with their wishes. Like spoiled children they will clamor for some other right once this goal is achieved.
Now that marriage is practically meaningless, the gays want in, which will complete the job. I remember when all we young people wanted to do was to be able to live together before marriage. Back then, once you got married there was no going back and divorce was very painful for everyone, so the idea was to at least be able to try out your prospective mate. Thirty years after that practice came into social acceptance, and divorce became easier, gays are declaring the practice a "right". It never was a right. It was a cultural practice that transcends politics, ethnicity, race, religion – in fact everything but gender. Marriage predated law and was codified since it was a common and useful practice. And it doesn't transcend gender because it is a practice or "rite" adopted by the communities across the globe and across a very long time span to control how children come into the world and make sure people are responsible for children, thus strengthening the community. I am not an anthropologist, but I suspect communities that didn't practice these rites died out.
mbob – more intolerance and judgemental hypocrisy from the joyous boys or is it just more gaystapo at work
experimental facts that can not be debated nor refuted – to bad algor cant get some of that kind of inconvenient truth
pageant had no choice as the gaystapo is the only males that will attend or watch
its what the liberal do, cuz they can not win the argument, so the resort to fraud and demonizing. fits right in wht the hilton/algor school of culture failure
same sex is acceptable – same sex is legal? obviously you live in the radical state of BOzo and crowd. Guess what, in Real America, same sex perversion is not marriage and it is definitely not legal
THANK GOD FOR REAL AMERICA AND REAL AMERICANS
this little fit by the hilton bigot is the ulitmate example of the divsion in American
on one side you have the liberals of the intolerant hypocritical homosexual mafia – and on the other you have the beautiful christian that has integrity and does not fear the gaystapo actions
we all know that BOzo and fellow liberals can not stand for the freedom of not agreeing with the homosexual agenda – it follows right in with not agreeing with the farce of global warming
freedom must be restricted to the believers and payment from all others
If the putrid sewage is allowed to go around spewing "homophobe", I dam sure am going to call them faggots! I've dam well had enough of the old one-sided mode of operations. And when Reverend Wright rolls around and spews his bu11sh!t, I'll be glad to call him a ni663r.
MB, you'd be great if you were funny, and if you were original. I heard that comment the night it happened. And have heard it about 25 times since. Plus, dating ourselves a wee bit, aren't we? Those kool kidz are too young to know who Anita was. Besides, she may have been hawking OJ, but she was known all over the world. Not too bad, for a beauty queen.
Let's get down to the real reason Mario Lavandeira was pissed off – he wasn't on the stage and he isn't a pretty girl. From thence come all his problems.
Prob, Bob? They ARE a gay mafia. They were on display with their horrid actions during the Prop 8 debacle. The gays I know were appalled that crap was going on. They couldn't believe they were sending out people's addresses, etc.. Evidently they were not alone. Quite a few famous gays, one Elton John among them, was also appalled. Most have more dignity and class, and Hollywood and their joining in, didn't help do anything but give validity to a bunch of bomb throwers. And yes, I believe you should be true to yourself, but not at the expense of others, try more comprehensive reading, next time.
Did all the contestants get the same gay marriage question?
Just another attack by the left on our right to free speech. This my friends is the real battle facing us.
True, but the way the article was written and many of the comments… it was like Prejean was some sort of blonde Barack Obama.
GospelJohn,
Why didn't you pick someone who is truly bright and articulate as your comparison model? Most know Obama is neither. He speaks more poorly than Prejean off prompter. As for being a great intellect, I think he is "highly educated."
True dat, Skip! LOL.I have known who PH is for several years. I have clicked over to his site many times, to see who is under the bully knife this time. He is a talentless hack who found a niche in Hollywood by being the bully they are all afraid of. They don't like him, they fear him.
O/T, is anyone else watching the fabulous Robert Davi in License to Kill, right now? I love that man! Woo hoo!
Ok, hate to ask… Anita who?
No, nothing.
That's right. The Gay Mafia is out to get you. And they're being helped by The Jews Who Control The Media, who in turn are operating under directive from The Bilderbergers via their fronts in the Trilateral Comission and the Carlyle Group – both of which are staffed by shape-shifting Reptilians, natch – as set in motion by The Illuminati. Don't believe me? Look at a dollar bill in a mirror, underwater, through a prism and translated into Esperanto – it's ALL RIGHT IN FRONT OF US, MAN!!!
Anita Bryant. Model and C-list singer in the 60s and 70s, at one point best known as an OJ spokeswoman. In the mid to late 70s, she gained her greatest prominence as the public face of a virulent anti-gay movement that was pushing for (among other things) "known homosexuals" to be fired from teaching jobs. Faded into relative obscurity after widespread political defeat of her movement, Florida Citrus never renewed her contract, messy divorce etc. Today best (only?) known for said activism, slightly more relevant again after appearing in archival footage in "Milk."
This little sissy boy never learned that there would be opposition in life. I blame his parents.
"Prejean"… Wasn't that the name of that "Dead Man Walking" nun-skull? No relation, I hope. Anyway…
Time for the young ladies of America to find a new scholarship source: when pageants are no longer about traditional values – and clearly, they AREN'T – their viewership will decline and their days are numbered.
Though I know he was affiliated with the other pageant, I'm sure Bert Parks is rolling in his grave…
Ah, ok, thanks. I only know her as a singer, though I don't know what she sang.
Nope, I'm not hurting anyone, just exercising my freedom. If it were "tone", I'd ignore it. These people actually made physical threats. That behavior taints the whole movement. Makes perfect sense to me.
So let me see if I have this straight. If a contestant or winner shows poor character, she is unfit for the contest. However, if a contestant or winner shows high character, she is also unfit for the contest? The world has gone mad.
People like Hilton are completely unqualified to judge ANYone's character. They will one day face a judge who is not similarly impaired.
So… help me out here with the theoretical conversation:
YOU: "So, I'm voting to deny you marriage rights."
GAY FRIEND: "Why!? We're friends, we've always gotten along, I recall you being ambivalent about this? Did we do something to upset you?"
YOU: "No, but… well, some people LIKE you aren't conducting political activism in a way I see fit, so I'm taking it out on all of you."
I mean, dude… I wasn't happy about all the Black jubilation when O.J. got off, but it didn't make me wanna rescind the Emancipation Proclamation. Have some priorities…
The socio-political questions at beauty pageants are there for the benefit of the women in the audience – to remind them that while they may be rather plain compared to the upright-walking makeup counters onstage (seriously, if you were to hit Miss California or any of the others with a bucket of hot water they'd turn into entirely people and there'd be a big oil-based mess all around their feet) they can take solace in being able to form basic sentences.
Uh… dude? Yeah, it was called Lawrence v Texas. Same-sex sex is legal in all 50 states.
Bob, what you are missing here is that gays DO have the right to get married, just the same as everyone else. No vote involved, just not to the same sex. What's discriminatory about that? I mean we ALL have the SAME rights when you think about it on a logical level.
The problem is, there is no "middle" for anyone to go to here. For the power-brokers of ONE of the two sides at play here, this isn't a political or semantic issue – it's a matter of FAITH, spiritualism, "good and evil," all those sweet lil' things and; as with all instances where one attempts to infuse the arcane into the modern, the logical end is extremism.
The less "friendly" side of the equal rights for homosexuals movement is the natural and necessary reaction to centuries upon centuries of repression, opression and suppression of these people. Which is not to say I condone all of it – merely that I understand from whence it comes. The Union, after all, needed Sherman as much as it needed Lincoln.
"and that's not because Prejean has hate in her heart, but instead love."
I've known enough models, beauty contestants and sundry other "gals like this" to offer that – if so, this woman is indeed a rarity. Almost as a rule, they've been among the coldest, least love-oriented people I know (whether or not that makes them MORE or LESS attractive is, of course, a constant variable…)
You… DO understand that if they kicked every gay man out of the pageant/model industry there'd be like five guys left, right?
"What's discriminatory about that?"
Everything. It's a legal issue, which means DISCRIMINATION is the whole point. What's being argued is whether it is UNJUSTLY discriminatory.
Now, then. While allowing that it is obviously not EXACTLY the same thing – does it matter to you at all that with a one-word change your opinion could have been and in fact WAS offered by opponents of "miscegenation" less than a century ago? And opponents of inter-faith marriage prior to that? And it sounded "logical" to them, too, as much as it does to you.
Definitely one of my favorite posts. Thanks for sharing this and helping us remember who and what we are up against…Perez Hilton is just one among many out there with the need to publicly shame anyone who disagrees with the idea that homosexual marriage will make the world a better place. We all know that homosexual marriage is a very selfish proposition- to deny innocent children the right to a mother AND a father is clearly wrong- morally, ethically, socially, and in every other way. It takes a male and a female to create life for a reason. And secondly, can you imagine what would happen if children are taught at a young age that homosexuality is just another option? Besides having our children taught that which goes against many people's beliefs, our society will change dramatically and I'm pretty sure it won't be for the better. Can you stop thinking about yourself, Perez, and start thinking about the future generations…America's children?! (Why does the stimulus bill come to my mind right about now?)
nothing enrages the left more than standing your ground; under the relentless onslaught of PC pressure one is supposed to cave like worthless puke Jim Cramer… she is obviously well grounded and (with looks like that why not?) quite confident. Yep- she is now a thorn and we'll see if she gets the Sarah Palin treatment…
Multiple choice by Perez Hilton.
I profess to be a liberal tollerent person, if you disagree with me you are:
A. A bitch
B A Cu*t
C a Homophobe
Please pick one.
I saw Miss Carrie Prejean on the Dove Awards (Gospel Awards) to announce a segment and as soon as they announced her name she got a well-deserved standing ovation. This lady has a bright future and Perez Hilton has already became a never was.
I love how bottled answers win the crown every time. I also love how the board allowed a controversial question to be posed, but they did not allow for a controversial response. I guess these ladies aren't all desperate for the crown. If you can't be someone without the crown, you can't be someone with it.
