Beauty Queen Vs. Drama Queen
by CW RawlinsThe Match Up:
- The Beauty Queen – Ms. Carrie Prejean – Miss California, now Miss USA 2009 Runner Up.
- The Drama Queen – Perez Hilton. He has a B.A. in drama, is a gay activist blogger, and co-opted his professional name from a celebrity with whom he has a personal fascination. He was a judge in the Miss USA pageant.
Ms. Prejean was the underdog. She’s not a slugger. She’s just a dumb blonde, right?
Mr. Hilton, on the other hand is the notorious gay activist blogger – a verbal street brawler known for picking and winning fights by jumping victims in back alleys and clobbering them with whatever he can get his hands on - pipes, tire irons, beer bottles.
On the surface, the pageant appeared to be a well refereed event. Even Hilton looked freshly scrubbed and donned a toothy grin throughout the evening. But the fix was in. What we didn’t see was that Hilton had a horseshoe hidden in his right glove. This was one match he wasn’t going to lose – not on national television. He figured he had one punch and it had to be a knock out.
There they stood, face to face – both representing different philosophies, opposing beliefs. The moment dripped with anticipation. Then Hilton threw his punch. Gay Marriage! Of course. What else from Hilton. Yes, the hotly debated issue of redefining marriage to include gay unions was supposed to be a knockout punch. But it only grazed her chin. She stumbled slightly, recovered and shot back her reply. According to her, the definition of marriage should remain as it has been defined throughout the history of our country – between a man and a woman.
She knew it wasn’t PC. But she was, after all, Miss “California” - a state that just voted (Prop Eight) to uphold the current definition of marriage. She is also a woman of faith – holding a belief consistent with the majority of the state of California (not to mention consistent with Pres. Obama and Hillary Clinton). But more importantly, her answer was authentically truthful to her own personal beliefs.
The camera cut to Hilton in time to catch his jaw drop – his face crestfallen. If you listened closely enough you could even hear the horseshoe fall out of his glove. This was clearly not the answer he expected. Who in this world has the temerity to proclaim a personal position so politically incorrect on national television? Apparently there’s one person – Ms. Prejean. Doesn’t she know that people like Hilton can destroy her? That she might never work in this town again? And even more tragic, she may never get invited to a Janeane Garofalo Oscar party?
For Ms. Prejean, it was clearly a seminal moment in her life – with defining clarity and simplicity she expressed a personal belief. Standing for something, and telling the world doesn’t need to be complicated. I wonder if any of our politicians were watching?
Now if Hilton had even a modicum of self respect he would have gone home and licked his wounds. But pathetically, Hilton couldn’t contain his rage. It’s as if he decided to continue his brawl in the parking lot where he caught up to Ms. Prejean and sucker punched her getting into her car. And while she was down, he continued to wail on her.
You’ve all seen the clips by now. Hilton viciously berated Miss California on TV and YouTube, calling her a “bitc*” and reportedly a “cun*”. And where does this rage come from? Ms. Prejean shared her beliefs.
As America struggles to reclaim its soul and find true leaders for the future, regardless of political philosophy, you have to admire any display of bravery, courage, or sacrifice made on behalf of “principle.”
Miss California has transcended beauty queen status. She is now much more than a pinup girl for our soldiers. She is a soldier – and leading a charge.
As for the pageant “judge”, he set aside any pretense of objectivity and egregiously used his position of power to advance his cause. When he ranted that if Miss California would have somehow won the crown, “I shi* you not, I would have gone up on that stage, I would have snatched that tiara off her head and run out the door!!!” – you have to ask. Who at the pageant organization thought it was a good idea to make a bigoted heterophobe a pageant judge?
Maybe that person is Keith Lewis- co executive director of the pageant – or maybe his boss Donald Trump? Trump ducked responsibility for Hilton’s assignment on Bill O’Reilly’s The Factor. Lewis stated (speaking of himself) that he “…is saddened and hurt that Miss California believes that marriage belongs only to a man and a woman.” Well I’m saddened that Keith Lewis is saddened.
Help me out here. The directors of the pageant are offended when a contestant expresses a belief contrary to theirs? – a viewpoint which by the way is mainstream – nothing radical about it. So, help me out here. Is being guilty of such an offense a de facto disqualifier for contestants? If so, disclose it to the contestants in advance. Flat out tell them what beliefs are acceptable to the committee, and which ones are not – which religions and churches can be attended and which ones can’t.
Hey, why not issue a booklet to contestants containing all the acceptable answers and viewpoints of the committee. Give them time to consider the option ahead – when they’re in the spotlight and they may need to choose to abandon their core principles for the sake of receiving the tiara……. Tiara, or beliefs.
In fact, just send out a mass email to the country with all the acceptable positions of the committee and forego the charade of running the pageant as a propaganda machine?
Maybe the title of this piece should have been Beauty and the Beast. And the Beast isn’t confined to Perez Hilton. You decide.

If you want to know who won this contest, I would sum it up thusly. . .
Prejean has a world of opportunity ahead of her and a reputation that will draw people to her. Who knows what she may achieve.
Hilton has peaked, and all he managed to achieve was to become a parody of the "angry queen" — and he doesn't even do good drag.
Winner, Prejean. Hilton, loser.
The Thought Gestapo was dealt a devastating blow. But never fear. After a few all-night benders on peruvian marching powder – draino to the cognitive dissonance – they'll be back on their feet, punishing you for your thoughts, comrade.
I agree. I don't know who won Miss USA, but I know who Miss Prejean is.
And what a Perez Hilton is.
btw, I'm having a hard time thinking what she looks like in the morning pre-jeans.
She wins! She wins! Go, California!
Judgment for the Respondent Prejean. Objection to Hilton's rant sustained as incompetent, irrelevant, immaterial, outside the province of the jury, and icky.
I liked how they treated her as if her views were radical. Uh, no. Not to the vast majority of America. Go back 20 yrs. If a pageant contestant had of said she thought all gays should be married with the full rights of heteros she would have been vilified by the rest of America.Just because views have changed in some parts of the country, the vast majority of people still vote no when offered the chance to vote on this issue. These pageants have turned into something owned outright by the Gay Mafia. I just don't get how being true to yourself is ever a bad thing. I vote her as Megyn Kelly's morning replacement while the lovely Ms. Kelly goes on her soon to be maternity leave. I think she would be great. This pageant had the worst ratings to date, so I am not the only one who thinks they need to go away.
Miss California could have answered Hilton's question this way "No, I do not think that every state should follow suit because I believe that a traditional marriage is between a man and a woman. However, I am in no position to decide if every state should follow suit or not. As a future Miss USA, it is my job not to be a politician but to be someone who represents and inspires the women and the troops, and I think it's great that the states get to decide for themselves." There! Hilton would have given her a higher score than 0.
I like that term "Heterophobe" we should hit the real haters with that term at every opportunity. We need to show that the days of running and silencing ourselves just because they get loud and start name calling is over. Our representatives in government have been running and hiding and look where it has gotten us. From now on "heterophobes" , liberal racists and tax and spenders beware, your day of scaring good people into silence is over.
Quite frankly, the term "faggot" seems to cover it fairly well. If those bastards are allowed to use "homophobe", then turn-about is damn well fair play.
And world peace. The whole thing was a setup, and there was nothing she could have said that would have made a bit of difference unless she announced she was marrying Miss New Jersey.
I used "heterophobe" in my recent rant, just before I found out that whole thing was a spoof.
I've never had any major objections to gay marriage– it just isn't a hot button for me. But the way it's been shoved in our faces, especially here in California, is not helping their cause. When I see someone like Hilton (or whatever his name is) treat someone like Prejean just because she has another view, I get angry. I'm normally not a vindictive person, but now I'm not so sure I would support the rights of gay people to marry just because of stunts just like this.
I have spent many a sleepless night lately, tossing and turning, worrying about how PH has been so emotionally violated, by all of the mean and hateful words, that have been said about him for just expressing his feelings about this…this…blond conservative floozy from California. (She does have adorable lips though.)
All I can say to you homophobe haters is… LEAVE PEREZ ALONE! *sniff sniff*
I feel better now. I think I’ll go have a nice hot bath now…yes, that’s it, a hot bath, and maybe give myself a pedicure…good then, a hot bath, a pedicure and an ice cold margarita, one without the salt on the rim, that would be just too uncivilized and is just terrible for my boyish completion dontcha know.
OK then, that's what I'll do then, OK?..I said OK!…YOUR NOT PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO ME! *Sniff*
Not Over.
Well said. And let me add, that I was so much happier before I knew what a Perez Hilton.
Go Colorado!
I would be opposed to allowing Perez Hilton to marry. . . anyone or anything.
Yeah, you were on fire. We were worried about you man.
By the way, I have to tell you, I still chuckle when I think "just kidding, of course." Classic!
It's the ultimate expression of "tyranny of the 'oppressed'" — which wouldn't work unless the supposedly heartless, cruel "majority" weren't decent folks who want to be fair and don't wake up in the morning wanting to hurt others, even those they disagree with. If they were the evil oppressors that these special-interest activists claim they are, it would never work. And yet it does — but not here, and that's not because Prejean has hate in her heart, but instead love. Anyone can see the difference in character between Hilton and Prejean. He wants to demonize and destroy her, she disagrees with him but wishes him well. Who's the oppressor here?
The whole thing is funny. He didn't have the courage to take her on face to face so he took his little pity party to the Internet and it backfired. It's also good that it is showing how perverse the judges are in their Al Gorish opposition to opposing views. I'm sure next year someone will petition to have trans gender pregnant people allowed in so the minority can jump up and clap when they come out in their one-piece swimsuit.
I'm going to take a wild guess that Perez Hilton voted for Barack Obama. Where does Barack Obama stand on gay marriage? In exactly the same place as Miss Prejean. I have yet to hear Perez Hilton call Barack Obama, who's opinion actually matters on political issue like this, the kind of vicious names he used against this young 20 something beauty queen. I guess it's just easier to pick on the girl.
Way to stand up Perez. Real courage.
I doubt that Osama really opposes gay marriage. He does, however, understand which way the public votes. And like many politicians, he is willing to say what he thinks he needs to say to win the election. If Osama had been on that show and had been asked that question, how do you think he would have responded? Especially if he thought that it wouldn't get out to the general public? And I have no doubt that response would have been much closer to his REAL position than anything he says in a campaign.
In future before they answer, they too should ask a question. "Do you want my true feelings or do you want me to tell a lie in my answer?"
That should clear the air.
Perez Hilton is one of the human grotesqueries the sump dump of Holly-Would spits up from its bowels every season – phony name, phony persona, a tiny, overcooked, screaming ego – a creature inevitably destined to resubmerge into oblivion and rejoin that town's other countless waste products.

Colorado? Isn't that somewhere in Mexico? Your gal doesn't qualify. On the other hand, the Beach Boys did do that song "I Wish They All Could Be Colorado Girls," so you may have a point for the Miss Universe contest.
But I wasn't kidding about "just kidding," or was I? It's all very confusing.
Colorado is to the right of California, but then what isn't. . .
So you're kind of indifferent on this issue?
They don't call us the left coast for nothing. California isn't even to the right of Hawaii.
They don't call us the left coast for nothing. California isn't even to the right of Hawaii.
The new Miss USA has already caved into "polotical correctness" of "man on man " and "woman on woman" marriage, I guess the padgent people got to her. The runnerup is the REAL winner!
you are correct in the long term- Ms Prejean has a real career in front of her, and with looks like that she scores big. This other twit will have a nice short term gain with his immediate community he is a 'star' now and probably getting some tabs (and certain other things) picked up…

Like you, I don't doubt that Obama is pro gay marriage in his heart. But he cannot deny that he was openly against it during the campaign. To my knowledge he hasn't changed that stance. So the question remains, where are the pro gay marriage ranters like Perez Hilton when it comes to Obama? Obama's (and Hillary Clinton's) anti-gay marriage position holds far more political weight than some little beauty queen.
Will Obama be challenged on this poition in public, and will he defend it or openly change it, making himself an clear liar post campaign? And if he does change his campain position on gay marriage, what excuse can he use?
He's going to make one sad, wrinkly, washed old Queen….one room cold water walkup off the really bad part of Sunset strip…dragging his groceries behind him in a little roller basket…dirty little Yorkie yapping at everybody…dead flowers over his dingy sink…sad, really sad….
for the first time in my life, I'm proud to say that i live in CA
Any pageant that ends without Miss Texas as the winner is RIGGED! We grow 'em by the bushel basket out here, in The Woodlands and Plano and walking around the campus at the Univ. of Texas…Miss Cal. is gorgeous though.
This is not the HuffPo or Daily Kos. Kindly watch the language, or post there.
It's a strange accident of geography that our country has two left coasts.
It's a strange accident of geography that our country has two left coasts.
I feel the same way. I really am not opposed to gay marriage, but I voted for Prop 8 as a protest because I didn't like how people's lawns were vandalized simply because they had a Prop 8 sign.
After their loss, watching them attack churches with hate speech made me proud of my vote. I would reconsider if they reached out to the community with kindness and humility, but I'm not seeing that right now.
AWWW CRAP! Don't make me hand deliver a P38, half a box of rats, half canteen of water, and a Zippo. And I'll do it with my RIP hat on. Pull yourself together man.
Her lips ain't the only adorable thing she has either.
I completely agree — he's peaked. This is as good as it's going to get for him.
P.S. I'll reply to your other post (on Apoc. Now) as soon as I can get to it. I can't open the thread right now.
Again, my reply vanished. Shoot. No, now it's back.
Again, my reply vanished. Shoot. No, now it's back.
The absolute best part of this whole debacle was when Perez said (and I paraphrase) "A president belongs to a party and has to go along with, you know, ideologies. He's not supposed to represent ALL americans. Miss USA is supposed to be a representative of ALL americans. She should be a uniter not divisive."
Too funny.
I sent another comment to the administrator, including your comment, just in case he thinks I'm making this crap up. Next time, I'll send it in bold, italics and underlined. I'm loving our friend for showing us how to do that.
Troublemaker.
If someone was asked about their beliefs regarding legalising polygamy and polyandry, by someone who supports it, and said that they oppose it, would it be justified to call the opposer horrible names? Would people be justifying that on the grounds that the person who opposes it is a "bigot"? Of course not, but the idea that it's okay to do so with someone who has a slightly different definition of marriage to a large minority has a surprisingly large following. What is the matter with these people?
It only took six clicks on my e-mail notification link to get here to say
I am not a troublemaker!
PS: Thanks, Kadaka
yeah- free admittance to the 'specialty bar' of his choice will be about it…
AGREED, THANKS KADAKA!!
By the way, try this — I'm having success, when it won't load fully, giving someone a thumbs up and then re-loading the page. That seems to work.
Ummm, does anyone else see the irony in the fact that a judge and the directors of a BEAUTY PAGEANT – the ultimate heterosexual display – are espousing GAY marriage and are offended that a contestant in a BEAUTY PAGEANT came out in favor of heterosexuality?????
I did not know what Perez Hilton was before this event. I am no better for it.
However, Miss CA is hot.
Next question!
I used two clicks on the ID e-mail link to get here, but next time I'll try your method. We shouldn't have to be drunken computer programmers to be able to find a simple comment.
I am confused Carrie Prejean has the same stated view as Obama, Clinton and Biden. Who is out of step with the norm then, Perez and the media for how they portray this issue? Gee you think someone may have a agenda?
Consider it a challenge. It's like exercise for your mind.
I lost that a long time ago. But I tried your trick, and sonofagun if it didn't work. Damn clever you lawyers.
I said the same thing on another blog recently. I used to be open to listening to Gay Marriage Rights. With the way those in the Gay Mafia act, they have made me where I'm not willing to listen to anything they have to say. Gays who don't think this crap is right need to stand up and fight against it. Otherwise the Perez H type are setting them back 25 yrs at least.
Wow, Justin, could you be more graphically gross? Nevermind, I don't want to know. I think you might want to find somewhere else to spew that kind of stuff, we don't care for it here.
I want to know why the Donald had two gay (heterophobe) peeps judging this contest, Its like having a Basketball Coach ref a tennis match, I don't get it. And what exactly is a Perez Hilton anyway?
No, no, no, no, NO!
Thanks to ego narcissist, Perez Hilton, Ms. Prejean's star power has risen to the surface while the fat that is gossip whore, Perez Hilton, has flattened out & about to removed by a whisk. He does not even make good flavoring! It's like the burnt fat you find in the pan after the good stuff is used. Miss California has a bright future all thanks to some evil gossip hack without a modicum of dignity.
Thanks Perez Hilton.
Maybe his publicist got him the gig?
Well, I did the Kadaka trick wrong and got a real weird looking italic OK because I forgot to close one of the commands. But, anyway OK, I promise I won't do it.
Fifth time for me. The first two were when Reagan was elected governor, the second two when he was elected President.
Use a search engine and type in Perez Hilton
Use those photos instead of the fake images he presents on tv
He is a freak
Donald trump should be ashamed of himself for hiring this guy and trying to ruin a young womens dreams
To answer IMPALER'S Post, What is a PEREZ HILTON . A PEREZ HILTON is a Fruit which is indigenous to most Major cities in the US of A most notably NEW YORK AND LOS ANGLES. It's also been found in Europe PARIS, LONDON , BERLIN. Don't go near IT'! It's Poisonous!
My first reaction to Perez Hilton's bigoted rant was anger and disgust. My second reaction was fear when the pageant officials SUPPORTED his bigotry – indeed, the officials even gave their own swift kick to Miss Prejean.
Now that I've gotten hold of my fear, however, I am trying to see all this in the best light possible. Namely that this disgusting attack of the gay nazis against others can serve to make the rest of this country aware of the unhinged, vicious hatred of gay fascism AND those spineless individuals who support it. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought their was a rider in the last stimulus bill to create a department whose job had that very purpose in mind.
C'mon LadyhawkSF,
He already does post in both those places.
He is what they call a "Conservative" impersonator. It's all the rage there he just wanted to give us the honor of seeing it over at Big H. Guess he just does not understand the audience here, does he.
not me…
Mark,
This assumes that he really cares about the constituency to begin with. If this were not an issue by a democratic lobbying group he probably would not give an answer at all.
I wish Miss Prajean was a little more mischeivous and clever.
How cool would it have been for her to start off with the people's right to choose line but then venture into I voted for Barack Obama and he said that he opposed gay marraige and that made me think maybe by minister's were right and marraige should be between a man and a woman.
That would have sent these liberal's heads into a tailspin.
I don;t know a black widow spider would make a good mate for him or maybe a praying mantis or any other insect that eays it's mate after copulation.
Aeeeeeiiiiiiiigh!
Already where i 1GooDDaDDy and what have you done with him……
I'm no lady, that was my wife.
I kinda figured he was, but I haven't been to either of those sites in a very long time. I can only take the f-bomb just so many times before any meaning on a site ceases to exist.
Glad to know we're all watching out for them and not making some foolish mistake by taking the bait.
Hey everyone, did you hear there was some kinda beauty contest? I heard Paris Hilton won or something?
I think most Americans believe the way Miss CA does.
The gay mafia makes gay marriage seem like a right. It's not a right, it's a privilege granted to us by the state. As soon as we vote in that change (per state) they can marry away.
Gays have the same rights as everyone else as granted to us by the constitution.
Class begats class.
Trash begats trash!
Ms. Prejean showed what kind of person she is. By his actions, Hilton has alienated many who could have been symptathic to his cause.
Ok, I'd agree to that narrow exception.
ok for those of us just joining, and who can't get the threads to open
How do we underline?
Italics?
I married a Plano girl. Oh yeah
Perez Hilton: a great excuse to gay bash!
"that's hot!"
"that's hot!"
Buckwheat, You DA MAN!
That answer only works when you're answering sane, honorable, and tolerant people. Hilton and his ilk don't fall in that category.
Given the prizes and futue value Miss California lost by what appears a totally inappropriate question, I'm amazed someone hasn't sued. Having paid no price for their activism, I wouldn't be surprised to see these people emboldened to keep on keepin on.
Beautiful imagery. Post of the month!
Thought experiment #1:
Suppose Miss Prejean had answered this way:
"On August 16, 2007 during his campaign, President Obama said: 'I am a Christian… and I believe that marriage should be the union between a man and a woman.' I agree with President Obama on this issue."
It would be interesting to see how different the reaction might have been.
Thought experiment #2:
Suppose Miss California was an immigrant Muslim and gave the same answer as Miss Prejean. The reaction would likely have been very different. Many on the left would have given her a pass on the grounds that we need to "respect cultural differences." Which raises the question: why do traditional Muslim beliefs deserve a pass but traditional Christian beliefs do not?
Vermont? LOL
On November 4, 2008, I was ambivalent about gay marriage. I actually considered voting against Prop. 8, considering the gay friends I have that would actually like to be married. Ultimately, I voted for it, but I figured it would be just a matter of time before I'd eventually vote in favor of gay marriage. Just two days after that election, I vowed that I would never, ever, ever vote for gay marriage, after seeing the rage the losing side exhibited following the election. Gay activists bullied a restaurant owner at a local Mexican restaurant and by the end of that month, had published the names and addresses of donors to the pro-Prop 8 cause, and even posted a Google map of their addresses for the Bay Area and Orange County. Ever since, it seems like gays have made it their personal mission to harass and defame straight people. Never again will I consider gay marriage. Never again.
If for no other reason than to keep buttplugs like Perez Hilton in a permanent rage.
You make two VERY good points! I think you are absolutely right about the difference in reaction.
Hmmm. You seem to have found the exception that proves the rule! LOL!
Marriage and the benefits, specifically the tax breaks and shared benefits are for family forming, else they would not have a purpose, the moment they can fertilize a turd I'll bend on my stance against gay marriage.
Kadaka explained it to us. Apparently, you type in html? Type as follows:
1. shift and the comma (same time)
2. b, u, or i (bold, underline, italic)
3. shift and the period (same time)
4. type what you want written
5. shift and the comma (same time)
6. /
7. the same letter — b, u, or i
8. shift and period (same time)
That should work. Use your new power wisely… or don't.
