Get Out of Jail Free? — A Call For Truth in the Media
by Chele StantonContrary to the most recent descriptions of who I am because of my beliefs, activities, and actions – I am not a racist, homophobe, Muslim hating, ignorant, gun loving, tea-bagging, swastika carrying, redneck, mobster – I am an American… An educated, God-fearing, compassionate, and peaceful woman who loves her country and is not embarrassed to say that I am genuinely PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! That is not an arrogant statement. In fact, I feel humbled and extremely blessed to have been born and raised in this great land of freedom.
So why is it that if I didn’t vote for Barack Obama to be in the White House, it’s because I must be a racist? Are you kidding me? What about – I didn’t agree with his policy of hope and change or his stance on abortion? What if I don’t support health care reform and want government to be less involved in telling me where and when to spend my hard earned money? How about maybe I’m a bit concerned that he has ties to an unrepentant terrorist, grew up with associations and beliefs in Socialism and Marxism or sat in a church for 20 years under the leadership of someone who hates white people and America? No, the reason I might not have voted for him had nothing to do with race…
This past year I have watched this “darling of the media” time and time again receive, what I call, a “GET OUT OF JAIL FREE” card. It boggles my mind to see how many “questionable” situations, affiliations, experiences, and policies go “unchecked” because of that flashy smile and that professional teleprompter delivery. Oh, he is a good orator for sure, but speaking well does not mean leadership… looking the part does not mean you are equipped for the job. I mean, I could dress up like a surgeon and walk into a hospital, but that doesn’t mean I’m qualified to operate on anyone.
By the way, did you know Obama would not even qualify to be his own Secret Service because of his affiliation with terrorists, and several other reasons? – some are listed below. He would NOT qualify for the Secret Service, the very people who put their life on the line for him, but he was elected to be the President of the United States and Commander In Chief of our Military? Unbelievable!! Why does this man receive a “GET OUT OF JAIL FREE” card every time? The media is fully capable of investigating any and all of the “questionable” attributes, yet they continue to give him a free pass. For instance:
- Affiliation with known unrepentant terrorist – Ayers
- Member of Rev. Wright’s congregation for 20 years – A man who spouts hate for America and is a racist
- Associations with Acorn – questionable voter registration fraud and scandal
- Won’t release his school records, medical records, or birth certificate – no explanation
- Says he was born in Hawaii – Yet his own Grandmother says he was born in Kenya and she was there at his birth
- Says he’s a Christian – Yet covers up Christian symbols at Georgetown University and does nothing publicly for the National Day of Prayer
- Bows to Saudi King – Yet only nods to Queen Elizabeth
- Gives “Brotherly Handshake” to Chavez
- Appears on Leno – Makes fun of the handicapped
- Air Force One Photo Op – NYC terrified that it’s another 9-11
- Releases Top Secret CIA Documents – Causes a media frenzy with condemnation of enhanced techniques for interrogation of terrorists/prisoners -(since when is Top Secret NOT TOP SECRET?!!)
- Flies to New York City for a date with Michelle – On taxpayers’ dollars!
- Says America is no longer a Christian nation – Not bothered by that statement
- During a Televised Press Conference says Officer Crowley acted stupidly -Siding with Gates as being racist – - offers no apology when truth is told but invites Crowley and Gates for a beer at the White House and still offers no public apology for his degradation of Crowley
The presidency is not a popularity contest. It is not about who looks better on the cover of a magazine, makes an appearance on a famous late night talk show or who can be a slick orator and charm the audience. The presidency is the highest elected office attainable in the United States of America… It is the office of the Leader of the Free World… It is to be revered, respected, and upheld to the highest standards. Our president should be a person of honor, a fearless leader of the people, a passionate and rational person. Our president should be a reflection of our Nation, of We The People, of our Freedom, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness….
It is dangerous to “pal” around with our enemies in an effort to look good to the rest of the world. An enemy will say anything to manipulate and get their way. Can you trust their word? Should you trust their word? Not until they have proven that they are no longer our enemies… doesn’t matter if they are friendly with the man who is the leader of our country… are they indeed still against what our country stands for? Are they a threat to our freedom? Have they decided to turn from their vow of steal, kill, annihilate, and destroy – simply because we are Americans? If not, then they are still an enemy of the country and should not be trusted, bowed to, or placated by ANY American – elected or not.
The United States of America is a treasured land of freedom, but I am greatly concerned about where our country is headed. Government control over the auto industry, banking industry, mortgage industry… and now the threat of health care… is not the answer. And if that’s not enough, now the White House is asking people to “snitch” on those that oppose Obama’s health care plan by notifying flag@whitehouse.gov. Is this Nazi Germany?!! Don’t we still have freedom of speech?!! When did our representatives stop working FOR us and start appeasing this man and his obvious agenda of government control? The bills that get passed without even being read… it’s unlawful, unpatriotic, and frankly, outrageous!
I am proud and grateful to be an American, so don’t ask me to apologize for that. It is my birthright, my blessing, my honor, privilege, and my God-given gift. It is not “un-American” to ask questions, disagree or protest policies being forced upon us. So I ask the media – Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent, whatever your chosen side of politics may be… don’t be so quick to hand out the “Get Out Of Jail Free” card – investigate, answer the questions raised, and report the news rather than trying to influence public opinion… you just might be overlooking something very BIG.
Obama promised transparency, but all I’ve seen is secrecy. If there is nothing to hide… then why are those records still being hidden? Concerned Americans want to know and deserve to know… the truth.

I guess for Obama, Top Secret only applies to his personal records and writings. Given his background and actions, it's amazing the man can get any kind of security clearance, let alone be Leader of the Free World.

Great essay and I agree that those of us who do love this country are automatically put on the defensive by liberals who hate this country. Which is pretty much the definition of "liberal".
But I really wish conservatives, or anybody who does not support Obama for whatever reason, would stop repeating the pop culture "truths" that have become reality.
Barack Obama is not a great orator. He can give a decent prepared speech, but so can your local city council candidate. Anyone who runs for public office, or high school study counsel president, can give a speech. They wouldn't run for office if they couldn't.
Barry is not very good at it. It's almost sort of racist, in a way, to say that he is good at it. If he weren't black, would people really think he was so good at giving these boring, long winded, repetitive speeches? And look what happens when his Tele-Prompter doesn't work correctly? It's pretty obvious that Barry doesn't even bother to read his own speeches before he gets in front on the cameras because he has no idea how to continue if the words are not there on the screen.
This notion of Barry being a great speaker really amazes me because he has shown time and time again that even with his stump speeches, which he must have delivered hundreds of times on the campaign trail like all candidates do, he seems completely lost without that Tele-Prompter. There are many examples on YouTube.
Like typists who don't actually read what they type, Barry really doesn't know what he's reading.
And don't even get me started on his interviews where he has no script to follow. Articulate? Puhleeese. That man can't put three words together without an "um" or "ah" in between two of them.
I too am concerned about the direction this country is headed. I am also seeing many signs that the American People are starting to see how they have been duped. President Obama said many things in the run up to the election but when his supporters were interviewed the reasons they said they were voting for him did not match up with what Obama had said. This means only one thing, Obama was elected because of image and not substance. His lack of qualifications are becoming apparent to even the most casual observer. Agree or disagree with his policies, it does not matter, he is destroying his own administration by incompetence.

I know there has been some controversy regarding BHO and his ways being 'Hitler Like'. I think that is a little over the top, but take a look of that picture, Doesn't that remind you of Benito Mussolini? "Benito Obama'?? Maybe he can eventually make the cash for clunkers payments run on time.

Well,GJP, that WAS the argument for both Mussolini and Hitler- they had the trains running on time- but when you begin to tolerate this level of bad behavior on the part of our leaders, its only a small step to having a gas chamber for a next door neighbor, or a bullet to the back of the head, all in the name of the leader du jour- not a good scenario.
What amazes me, and has me wondering why the legislature hasn't grown a spine, is that Congress is rapidly becoming irrelevant,with all the Czars. Cabinet appointees are approved by Congress, a part of the checks and balances that has kept our country from being hijacked by a ruthless leader, but the "Czars" are not overseen, nor responsible to ANYONE except the Resident- waaaaay too much power in one branch of the government.
We have simultaneous assaults on at LEAST four of our freedoms as enumerated in the Bill of Rights- the First, the Second, the Fourth, and the Tenth Amendments are all under siege by this administration , and it is no accident- This is not an "oops" moment- this is deliberate.
oy. here i am first thing in the morning (hey! 9:30 is still morning!) with sleep in my eyes and a rising anger in my chest. this man and his administration tick me off daily. the arrogance of his falsehoods continue to shock me. i don't know why. just when i think there's nothing else he can pull, BAM!, he proves he still has stuff in his magic bag. he's got the "denying it makes it true" down pat. and those that believe him hold fast to their belief that he DOES have their best interest at heart. it's the "dance with the one that brought (bought!) you" syndrome. while all of this is numbing, i can testify that i have witnessed many who voted for barry changing their minds. my prediction is that this small tide will turn into a swell. we just have to keep showing up and hammering back at their nonsense every. single. day.

Here's a question for the field: wasn't the "Czar" originally a bad guy? The word comes from Imperial Russia.

If libs say to me that I must be racist for not voting for Obama, I ask who they voted for in the primary. If they voted for Hillary then they must be racist too. Between 40 to 50% of dems voted for Hillary which is why the super delegates had to be convinced to go with Obama. So, at least 45% of dems are racist too. That means that the 47% of Americans who voted for McCain and the 45% of liberals who voted for Hillary in the primary are racists. That's a "super" majority. Liberals are weak cheese, man.

Your point would be well taken if there weren't dozens of photos like this, and videos too. Sitting on the dais at a dinner looking anything but humble…I think a moment can catch one's character. I can't imagine George W. Bush ever assuming such a pose, even in transition. A smirk, sure, but not the smug arrogance the Obama displays so often. I'm still trying to figure out what he's so smug about…it's not like he's ever actually done anything in his life (other than write two autobiographies)!
Actually, I believe the first usage was in the Carter administration, with the Drug Czar, but while there have been a few in admins since, there are now 29 (so far) who answer to no one but the Resident. that, to me, is scary.
Gov. David Patterson of NY is blaming opposition to his policies on racism, and says "Obama is next". This is the other part of the "first black president" strategy.
Way too many people voted for the Dear Leader because He sounded nice and because he was partially of African descent, not because they agreed with His policies. There was also, of course, a groundswell against the GOP, which is not the same thing as voting for the Dear Leader because of what he symbolizes, i.e. racial reconciliation and Messianic promises.

I have often wondered why the rest of the western world was so enamored by Obama and why it was so important for us to "finally" have a black president. No other western country has a black elected leader, so if it is such an inspiring, momentous event, why haven't they elected one in the past? In as far as being thought of as racist, I laugh every time I hear that argument. I am "color-blind" to the point that if someone said Obama is black I would probably have to see a picture to believe them,,he is just a man to me. I've always believed Obie was propped up by the Leftists as the best 'face' for selling their agenda, when it appeared that a reworking of the Clintons wasn't going to take, and that being black was going to make him and that agenda unassailable in a way that wouldn't work for a woman (see the Left's own trashing of Sarah Palin). Mr. Obama is afforded a "get out of jail free card" from the MSM and his devout followers precisely because he is BLACK.

As someone who voted for Obama twice (once in the primary, once in the general election, don't get the idea I'm an old-time Chicago voter), I accept without reservation the above statement. Every individual has their own individual reasons for why and how they vote. You've listed plenty of reasons, all of which I believe are dead wrong, but you were casting your vote, not mine, and I cast my vote, not yours.
Thanks to a decision made by the U.S. Department of Justice, on Ronald Reagan's watch, when Barack Obama met an aging William Ayers, the latter was not in a maximum security federal prison, but a tenured professor of English and a homeowner in a quiet neighborhood. Scratch that canard about "Palin with terrorists."
Jeremiah Wright showed his true colors when it became clear that Obama might actually win — which would mean millions of "white" voters were willing to support him. It threatened Wright's entire world view, and they both came to recognize it. Frankly, I didn't have much problem with what I heard from Wright on U-Tube.
Obama's mother was a U.S. citizen, so it doesn't matter where he was born, that makes him a citizen. But his birth certificate is for real, except in the imagination of those who pretend its not.
And so on.
So, I agree, you're not a racist. I believe you are wrong, but you made a sincere choice based on the particular delusions you chose, and that is your right as a citizen. Fortunately, not only did 53% of the voters choose otherwise, but million of McCain voters had better reasons than yours.
Now, here is one last surprise. You know who I like among the Republican field? Mike Huckabee. I sort of gave up on him when he went kissing up to that charlatan Ken Copeland for money, and he's not my ideal of a perfect candidate, but he could be a great reprise to Obama in 2016. You see, I don't trust Nancy Pelosi either.
I wonder how many of the blacks voting for Obama did so as much for 'sticking it to whitey' (does the OJ trial ring any bells?) as they did because Obama is black,…..(.well, close enough, anyway). Yet those of us, no matter our skin color, that oppose Obama and the dems are considered racists in their minds.
The more they keep spewing the 'racist' tag, the more I, for one, am beginning to like it. If we would stop acknowledging this Politically Correct BS, I think it would wither and die rather quickly.

I agree 100 percent with your comments here! It always amazes me that even those who do not support Obama continue to repeat this "He's a great speaker" line as if it was common knowledge.
All I ever hear are the "UHs" and "AHs"! It's like nails on a blackboard and yet… people keep saying he's such a great speaker. I just don't know what it's based upon!
It's that nose-in-the-air thing that gets me. The arrogance of this man never fails to disgust me! You can just feel the contempt he has for his own citizens. It's sickening. I cannot stand to even look at this man.

Don- as we speak, there are four of our rights under siege by this administration, the First, the Second, the Fourth, and the Tenth- these form the backbone of our essential freedoms needed to keep this country free and great. We cannot afford to let up in the fight to keep these onerous laws from being co-opted by these end runs around the intent of these laws. He knows that the people will not convene a Constitutional Convention, so to get around these Amendments. he makes other little laws, like the possible onerous taxation of ammunition.
Oh, you can have a gun, but the ammo will be $1,000 a bullet- who could afford that? It is the rinky-dinky BS we have to put up with.

Look up "Your Life, Your Choices", a booklet put out by the Veteran's Administration- it was cancelled by Pres. Bush, but as we all know, if Bush did it, it simply MUST be undone by this administration. In it, the book has chapters like, "Am I a burden on my family?"- lovely reading for injured veterans, to be sure.

By the way, I think Ayers is in the Education department, not the English department. Nothing snarky here; just a clarification.
Some of the naming, from back with the Drug Czar, appears at least subconscious, as seen by the spelling "Czar" being used instead of "Tsar." Pronounce it somewhat as spelled and you get "Caesar." They wanted a "little tyrant" whose power derived from those elected and gave him something like military powers to accomplish the task. The Russian association made the term darker, bloodier, this was someone who'd do his task with an iron fist and crush the illegal activity. Later as more "czars" were used, the term became more generic, a super-supervisor but not as "terrible."
Nowadays, a "czar" is someone who does Barry's work for him and shields him from actually knowing how to work with all those small agencies that he is (in theory) in charge of. You might as well call them Lieutenants, but then, dang it, someone will make the association to how a Chicago mob boss would run his organization. Go figure.

It's all Math: 13% of the US is black. 40% of the US is Democratic. All black are Democrats. All blacks voted for the black guy. Hillary had to overcome a 30 to 0 Headstart everytime give or take a little.
Even now, Obama has 45% approval among white people, yet 92% among blacks. You'll never hear that on the news though. (About 65% with Hispanics).
No one will ever report on the monolithic racial nature of the black vote. It is the only thing keeping the socialist party afloat in this country.
I can't prove it but I am pretty sure that the print and television editors of the MSM consciously choose photos and images of Obama that are shot from below. This is intended to emphasize his physical stature and send out a subliminal message of intellectualism and "above-the-fray" moral grandeur. It was the same technique used by Soviet propagandists to embellish the otherwise unimpressive appearance of Stalin. Well – At least they never felt the need to show us Stalin's abs.
I am glad we can agree to disagree on this issue. You are right he won. He is my President. I may not agree on his agenda. I do expect the President to uphold the Constitution as he swore an oath to along with Congress. "secure the blessings of liberty" is a very prominent statement in our Constitution. -Appointed an attorney general who cut loose Black Panthers who spent election day intimidating voters
-Attempted to turn the entirety of American health care into another arm of his party's political machine
-ad nauseum

I just want to say, and this by no means takes away from her list of charges against Obama, because I believe all of them, but here is my take:
If you are going to list such a charge list on Obama, please remember that Bush has just as long a list of charges himself. In fact, both have committed Treason while in office. In fact, most presidents ever since and including Lincoln have done so. Let's remember that not since Andrew Jackson has this country had no deficit or national debt. Let's not forget our history. Let's now admit Ron Paul was right, and he is why almost all Republicans and many democrats have come around to support his Audit the Fed bill. Let's remember that all our wars including the war to prevent southern independence were unjust, except the revolutionary war. Let's remember that all branches of government USURP power on behalf of the party in majority control. Let's remember that Federal Reserve Notes are worth about 1 cent compared to their 1913 counterparts. Let's remember that Bretton Woods has failed and Nixon should have been dispatched with BEFORE he took us off the Gold Standard. No it is not all Obama- as Billy Joel says, He didn't start the fire. One of the most basic differentiations between a liberal and a conservative is that the conservative can answer a question honestly and succinctly. I too don't have a huge problem with what Rev. Wrong said, but when you consider he is preaching this to thousands of followers who look up to and respect him, them it starts to cause a few problems. Not problems for me but for his own followers. How can anyone honestly believe in those things and then expect to get ahead in life. Sorry it will never happen for them. They will forever be stuck in their "I'm a helpless victim role".

However, if I may point out one small detail. Everyone, seems to think…and give credence that the 'One' is a great orator. I beg to differ. The simple fact that this man requires so many teleprompters, and is completely lost when one of them fails, negates this assessment. Great orators rely on memory, ability to continue on if their notes are mixed up or blown away by the wind (such was the case a couple of times for Ronald Reagan) or their teleprompter malfunctions. Great orators are able to pause momentarily, and continue in stride( like Ronald Reagan). Look at Rush when he gave his speech at CPAC…no teleprompter, and he went on for over an hour! There's an orator!
Obama is a joke of a speaker, I doubt he could pass a Toastmasters gathering. He is useless as a public speaker, period.

Regardless of why many people voted for Him, there is one thing I have to say for the Dear Leader–He is not a liar. He made it clear, most obviously to "Joe the Plumber", what "Hope and Change" really meant. Too many voters ignored His beliefs and associations, and voted for Him anyway–something the Dear Leader Himself doesn't seem to get as he sets about enacting "change".
The Dear Leader's arrogance is eroding His support, and people are realizing, a little late, that a Presidential election is not "American Idol". So, out comes Gov. Patterson (and there will be many more like him) to say opposition to the "first black president' can only be racism.
I don't believe this strategy of crying racist will save the Dear Leader in the end, but it will keep some guilty white types from openly voicing their opposition to the Stimulus abomination, C4C, Cap-and-Trade, the auto bailout, etc.
He/she can't. It's just part of the script. It's that ad hominem thing we got during the campaign…
Gov. David Patterson of NY is blaming opposition to his policies on racism, and says "Obama is next". This is the other part of the "first black president" strategy.
Way too many people voted for the Dear Leader because He sounded nice and because He was partially of African descent, not because they agreed with His policies. His handlers were well-aware of this, and played it for all it was worth.
There was also a "throw the bums out" backlash against the GOP, which is not the same thing as voting for the Dear Leader because of what he symbolized, i.e. racial reconciliation and Messianic promises.

What confuses me is, who was the brainiac who sat around the Carter White House and came up with the idea of naming their newly created position the "Drug Czar"? This guy was paid a salary – probably a pretty good one – to work on this kind of stuff, and that was the best he could do?
