Carrie Prejean Kept Out of Special Olympics Ceremonies by Miss California Pageant Director
by Carrie PrejeanI have volunteered at the Special Olympics for the past several years; it is a cause very close to my heart. I was so excited to be invited as an honored guest and presenter of medals at the Special Olympics summer games this June. I fully intended to go and volunteer once again in my private capacity. However, when I learned that Keith Lewis had called the event asking that a new Miss California USA attend in my place, I reluctantly decided for the good of the Olympians I should not be there at this time. The Special Olympics should be all about these amazing athletes. I hope the generous people of California volunteer, cheer, and donate this weekend in Long Beach. I thank the Special Olympics for their ongoing support and I promise them and the athletes: I look forward to volunteering with them soon.

This vendetta against you will end badly for them Carrie; you have been consistant and principaled, they have been shrill and juvenile. It's a shame ideologues like Lewis will continue to try to position himself between you and causes close to your heart, just for spite. Everyday his stature grows smaller, everyday you grow stronger. It's a "dirty phrase" now but the "silent majority" are with you, and less happy being silent everyday. These people are the symptoms of a deeper illness in our country, we must be resilient.
I don't think that Carrie Prejean has been without some fault, but the Miss CA organization has seemed to be the main cause of most of the problems.
- Shanna Moakler never gave Carrie a fair chance following the pageant and quit when she didn't get what she wanted (Carrie being fired and embarrassed). Her past shows that she likes to draw attention to herself.
- Lewis has continued to come off bad. His appearance on Greta this week showed him to not even have his facts right about some of the reasons she was supposedly fired. Now there is this. He knew that this would force Carrie to not attend or have another way to attack her as a troublemaker if she refused to do so.
- Trump only cares about himself. He knew that he would get a lot of publicity by firing her. He's also trying to promote his pageant. The ratings were awful this year. He uses the contestants for his own publicity. He used Tara Connor's problems to allow him to come off as a hero. I hope this leads to pageant contestants choosing to compete for Miss America instead of the Miss USA pageant.
If Carrie is opposed by people like Moakler, Lewis, and Trump, then I am definitely on her side.
Although I personally disagree with you on the issue of gay marriage, I think you are one of the few people in this whole fiasco to show class, style, and integrity. You prove that beauty is not always just skin deep. Please realize that there is at least one person on the other side of that argument who supports you personally.

TJ you are so off base, the pagent judge perez hilton should never have asked such a question and should be removed from judging ever again, the pagent director who said that he could not sanction a sepcial olympics even because he wanted her at a meeting for the style network to explore the idea of some sort of show around her. Come on man, just because she doesn't sanction gay marriage this is absurd and is proof that libtards will kill free speech.

This Keith Lewis seems like one angry (and jealous) person. You would think that HE wants to be Miss California. His actions seem almost "bitchy" or "catty. He must do a lot of thrashing around in bed in the middle of the night as he plots his next move to sabotage her career.
He clearly realizes that Carrie's star is rising and he will simply be remembered (if at all) as "that other guy" who sat next to angry homosexual Perez Hilton during some beauty contest — a long time ago.

Apparently someone has never had to address mail to nor received mail from another country, listing the country after the state is proper, and as there are many "Miss" beauty pageants throughout the world it is an added step to avoid potential confusion.
I'm sorry, but nowhere in her letter does Miss Prejean give any evidence that she was "kept out of the Special Olympics ceremonies by the Miss California pageant director" as she titled it. According to the statements she made in the letter, SHE decided to not to attend. Speaking of Perez Hilton, his web site attracts a lot of underaged readers. Is it illegal for a site that is open to all ages to put up extremely graphic p-rn-graphic photos? At the time I'm writing this, on page 4 of Perez's site, he has put up pictures of Oscar award winner, Milk screenplay writer Dustin Lance Black engaged in graphic acts. My issue is that you should not have been there in the first place. There is a lot in the Bible about modesty, living honestly and covering ones self up. I just want you to know that I think you are a real class act. I'm not a fan of the various beauty pagents, but God made the human body, and He himself declared that "it is good" after He had finished with creation.
I think that Perez Hilton purposely set you up and that he shouldn't have been in the position to judge a female beauty pagent in the first place. Also, it's sad to learn that the Miss California pagent offices are in the hands of a Gay administrator as well. I guess this is a reflection on the state of the fashion/beauty industry.
