I think that the metaphor here is that he..being black, she being white...and on top of it all...He is a Republican...she is a Democrat. Reverse roles I guess. But then I get lost when he is worried about .."not being married"??? Cons, I think don't really have such a problem with that. We have a broad realization that lives are quite complex these days and that you must not be sooo serious about small stuff. Yes we live a higher moral ground...but come on...I will not pretend to be mightier than thou. S**t happens. You deal with it. Liberals are the one's that see "COLOR"...so it is they who would see the couple for what they are , a mixed couple. THEY are the racists. Cons see people for there Spirit and Individuality. For how kind they are. Unfortunately race does exist in this Country. In both parties. MOSTLY on the LEFT! The State Run Media throws in the kook right(white supremacists) into our side. Well of course, they vote Repub. Nothing we can do about that. Oh well, I think I have rambled myself into silliness here. By for now.

Looks like a completely unbaised report to me... lol

I don't know how he could've drawn it any clearer. The parents seem rather pleased with their "crotch fruit". But instead of seeing the beauty of two people who care about each other, expressing happiness at their future, you choose to be one of the very people he is writing about.

Kudos to you!

I'd say there is a big difference between pre-marital sex and loose sex. Sex is something that is precious and should be treated that way because it is an act that potentially creates life. Too often, our culture devalues and debases it as something that is to be completely divorced as much as from the consequence or incidence of procreation. Prior to the birth control pill and the sexual revolution that really wasn't possible. I would prefer that we restore it to an act of reverence and potential creation to be respected and enjoyed with someone you are deeply and preferably permanently committed to, but before we ask for everything (marriage), we need to take those first few steps back on the road to where we wish we could be.

Lighten up? Premarital sex is one of the worst things to infect our culture. It's left us with broken families, a massive increase in STDs, and a general desensitizing of all forms of sexual misconduct. We could do with a WHOLE lot less lightening up on this subject. You're right, alot on the right don't loudly condemn it. Heck, alot practice it. Doesn't mean it should be excused as something only "prudes"-as those with sexual morals are often called-condemn. But yeah, he did do the right thing by proposing. That's not the issue though. The strips implication that those with a sense of decency and honor are right-wing wackos is. To compare believing pre-marital sex is wrong to believing that disabled babies should be aborted is just plane wrong.

Good Lord! Don't any of you folks read webcomics? There's tens of thousand of them! Day by Day is only one of my favorites with a story line that deserves several graphic novels. Most of the best ones started as simple pencil drawings clear back in the 1999-2000 days and evolved into some startling stories. Start with DbD and start at the beginning, follow the links if you dare, you probably won't be sorry... except for the time wasted of course.

And so serious! Folks... it's a comic strip, not carved on stone or anything. Lighten up a bit before you all get ulcers. God knows the Big O will be handing enough of those out already.

I for one am offended that they are tall, slender and attractive. Why couldn't they be short, fat and ugly...like me!

After all there are more of us (S.F.U. people) than there are of the tall and attractive.

...poke their collective noses into private lives...

Well, if the crotch-fruit of unwed parents had no effect on society then you would be justified at the nose-poking. But everyone else has to live with the consequences of these actions.

Here's a taste The Taxpayer Cost of Divorce and Unwed Childbearing
