I hate nearly everything President Obama is doing but I'm not quit ready to call him a coward on the Iran issue. There are some things better said and done behind the scenes and if he can save some innocent Iranian lives by saying one thing on tv and doing something altogether different behind close doors the way he runs our country then let him try. We're gonig to look bad either way and that's not always a bad thing.
….so far away.
"Quick! Take a poll! Let's see how I feel about this crisis." Even more Clintonesque than Bill.
obama doesn't worry about such things as millions of people in Iran trying to become free from their gov't oppressors
obama felt like he wanted to get some custard today… all that matters to him
"Mr. Obama was told that tips aren’t allowed at the Dairy Godmother, so he stayed for about 15 minutes, taking photographs and eating his custard."
He is so full of himself. I'd rather take the .25 tip
Truth is that Barry Soetoro agrees with the thugocracy in Iran and is probably wondering why all of these people are rioting against the current "regime"….hell, he's trying to do to this country what Iran has been doing since 1979..a repressive regime with no rights for its citizens, whatsoever.

This is a conundrum for a guy drunk on power (Obama, not the Mullah)…Taz has a point, his middle name may be Hussein but he still heads up the government of the Great Satan. If he continues to supports the "progressives" who advocate opposition to Ahmadiniejad and some real reform happens, it's a win. If the Iranian theocracy shows it self to be what we already know, an oppressive Muslim state bent on hastening Armegeddon, well thats expected, so it's a win. If real reform happens and SUPRISE, the U.S. is STILL the "Great Satan" and the political elites and Mullahs still threaten Israel and general peace in the region, it's a big loss.
Give Rahm time, he'll find a pollster in Iran somewhere…
I'd like to point out that Iran is now has fledgling democracies to the east and west of it, courtesy of a man Obama has done nothing but slander and disparage. We didn't see such unrest in Iran before that, and while the causes are complex, I believe it played an important role.
Bush did what he thought was right, at the cost of being unpopular in the short term. Obama avoids doing what was right, at the cost of being popular in the short term.
Tell that to her.

Iran is not on his agenda…
President Ice Cream could not be reached for comment. He was last seen skateboarding with Tony Hawk through the White House, and on out the door to his golf cart where is now playing golf.
A moderate might screw up his "speak to the Evil Empires because I'm a lawyer and talking always works" world view.
Is the reply notification function still on the fritz?
As much as I hate Obama's policies, I'm torn here. Granted he looks like a d-bag right now getting ice cream while this is going on, but I do have one concern. Who is Moussavi? From what I've read, he took part in the 1979 overthrow and in the kidnappings of Americans. He was also handpicked to run in the election by Khomeini. The media on the left and right are portraying him as the opposite of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and he's not. Sometimes what we think as the lesser of two evils isn't necessarily the case.
Only if you're German. If you're French, it's on the Jacque.
Meanwhile, in CA the President and his party support, and are actively supporting the rights of some tiny fish.

Fish vs. Iranian protesters? Hmmmmm………? Who will win?
Anyone alive, and able to know what the heck was going on in 1979, knows that this rebellion has a different flavor to it than those we have seen in the past. Oh, wait! Cue the "I was only 6 years old" comment, or "I inherited this problem" or "It is Bush's fault", or even the "I was not born yet" comments. He cannot be blamed for mishandling any issue, or situation. Should he not be able to see the difference? He is just a few years older than me! My historical education must be vastly different from the one he received.
President "Present" is learning first hand it is not easy to make decisions as one might have thought. If he is the one making the decisions. Either way, being a President means you have to lead. IF he wanted to stay out of the fracas in Iran, then just say so, but you cannot pick a crickets chirping sound bite as your vote when it comes to people wanting some version of free elections.
For those who think we on the right are off the bend in objecting to the handling of the Iranian situation, I would refer you to the President's interest in saving 80,000 jobs in California which just so happens to be associated with our food supply. See a pattern here? We do. And as this President encounters ships laden with nuclear materials and missiles, one wonders what sort of fabulous outings, entertainers, or activities he might consider more important than taking a leadership position?
Difference is that Iran has used Islam to bully the people. THE ONE is using his own ego to beat us in to submission.
Not excatly, this is the foriegn policy that our friends in Europe wanted. And it's working just the way we told those weenies it would!
Here is my question, if the current regime in Iran survives, will Obama still want to negotiate? And to what means and outcome?
Mosauvi does have an Islamist history. But revolutions, this one included often grow way beyond their origins. The revolution that brought down the shah actualy took several months. Both Khameni and Mousavi now know that only one of them will be alive when this is over. What emerges will probably not be a Jeffersonian democracy, but I don't think these people are dying just to keep a moderate form of mullahocracy in place. The question is, how do you backdown from a religious revolution? The world is about to find out.
I'm a bit torn too. Some people I consider reasonable on this issue have suggested that if the US comes out too strongly for the protesters it might undermine their effort by galvanizing the opposition to them. Yes, the Supreme Leader, etc., will blame the US regardless, but the succes of the protests will likely depend on the middle folks in the police and military who will have to put it down. Seeing it as a US-backed effort may cause them to do so, and quite harshly. If the US isn't seen as being involved they might side with the protesters, or at least not be willing to use harsh tactics against them. That said, BHO's silence, and then timid statements, wasn't the best option either. If nothing else, it makes BHO seem weak or indecisive. This may be the test that Biden spoke of. So far, BHO is failing it.
I would be happy to have Iran fighting inside their borders for awhile. As my dad used to say to my brother and I when we were fighting.
"Have at it!"
I saw this fish story the other night and it ticked me off like nothing in recent memory.
Delta smelt, meet Mr. Darwin.
Good 'tune. The sound of silence is deafining; the WH statements of BS appeasing evil are sickening. The chicago gang is ignoring that, while the Guardian Council ruling party sleazoids dispute has no "good guys" on either side, the human beings being murdered on the streets are dying for freedom, not corruption, and they are the good guys. We, and they, need a Churchill or a Reagan and got a Chaimberlin and a Carter.
Hey…let him finish his ice cream.
Yeah, it hasn't worked in a long, long time.
This is no longer about Moussavi. This is about the people of Iran finally deciding that they have had enough of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Moussavi is just a figurehead for the movement. At this point, if the Mullahs decided to go ahead and declare Moussavi the new president, I don't think that would be enough for the protesters. They have finally realized that when one million of them get the courage to stand up to the regime, they have the power to take it down.
"…if he can save some innocent Iranian lives by saying one thing on tv and doing something altogether different behind close doors the way he runs our country then let him try."
I have no faith that he is doing anything behind closed doors besides hoping that the situation is going to get better magically. Same goes with the North Korean problem. We all knew before the election that this guy had no idea what he was doing and now he is proving that to all of us.
(I)Ran. (I)Won.
A 20-year-old girl was shot and killed in Iran Saturday by the Basij – the 'morality' police.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBVX9Wk91_g&fe...
Is anyone listening? Where is Fox News? Where is the President?
*I* am Ran.
Girl shot by Morality Police.
You just summed up the Middle East's problem perfectly.
The real Mousavi is the architect of the current Iranian Nuclear Policy. This is the man that Republicans want the US to be seen supporting.
Are you people nuts??
I couldn't get away-ay-ay… lOl!!! So I'm not the only one who immediately conjured that up. Dang I think I'll go poof up my hair.
Go read a book and grow a brain you Canuck!! Get out of America's affairs.
Psssssssssssssstttttttt the US election was last year.. Your side lost using the same dumb a$$ rhetoric.. Try something new…
What did I do to pick up this barnacle?
@2soccergirls, the fish the libs are trying to "save" isn't even native to California. It was introduced to the Sacramento River in the 1940s. Hundreds of thousands of acres of the most productive farmland in the world, farmed by the most efficient and knowledgeable farmers, are lying fallow. Vinyards and orchards are dying for lack of water. Farm workers are suffering from 60% unemployment in West Fresno County. It's a disaster. Do the Dems care? Nope. Devin Nunes tried to get them to agree to take the killer whale off the list of creatures "endangered" by the pumps near Los Banos. The measure failed by 10 votes. At least two congressmen from California voted against it.
Cool!
Nothing. Invertebrates happen. We're having a terrible time with earwigs where we live right now.
This is incorrect. He'd be what we'd call a moderate. He's a progressive on women's rights and the morality police, so he'd be an improvement over Ahmadinnerjacket, even if he's not our ideal.
Oh and those orchards and vinyards take up to 10 years to get started and are worth millions. They are basically irreplaceable when they are taken out of production unexpectedly. But who cares, it's only the conservative Central Valley.
George Will says Obama has done the right thing. Pat Buchanan says it. Henry Kissinger says it. If you have to oppose the man for everything right or wrong, you have no principles. At least Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest get paid to have no principles.
Yes and much like earwigs, trolls make a lovely popping noise when you crush them under your boot…………………….
ChristopherMC
Don't let it bother you. His kind always react's violently to the truth………..
Anti-GOP
See "Ken in Irvine" post above…………It is not about Mousavi anymore…..It's about freedom for a nation!
Yup, we tried the using the same rhetoric as the Dems. Time for something new, different, like conservatism.
You'll have to wait until Limbaugh gets back from vacation, and Monday for Hannity. Where's the condemnation for killing their own people? You have no principles for not taking a stand, right or wrong.
The first of these panels that actually made sense.
Negotiate? His predecessor would have "gone in for the kill." Probably not militarily unless things were really messed up, but certainly with crippling sanctions due to the massive human rights violations. Iranian oil would be yanked off the world markets, one way or another, and that would be one of the opening moves. In short order virtually every Muslim country on the planet would declare their dislike to their eternal hatred of America, again, which that President would politely ignore while he takes care of business, again.
This President? He will wait until "the regime stabilizes" to really begin negotiations. This could happen Spring/Summer 2012, just enough ahead of November, although Spring/Summer 2010 might be possible.
(I)Won? People still use that site? Well, apparently hardly anyone.
Oh, I get it. It is a "Hope" for "Change" site so you mentioned it. Nice one.
I sort of doubt you and your brother had knives and were going for a kill. Real innocent people are dying, which is not fun to watch.
Although if this was strictly political infighting among the leadership of the regime, even rising to assorted assassination attempts, I would bring the popcorn.
Try again. They get paid to have the Right principles.
That's Kinda my point. Buchanan explained that by not speaking out publicly it made the demonstraions the property of the Iranian people and not the result of US interference. We kneed to support these people covertly and help rid the country of it's theocracy which would make ALL the Mulla backed candidates irrelavant.
Brilliant!
ddaichiro…You made a thoughtful point that may have given us reason to listen to you and think. Then, you throw in the line about men you obviously have never listened to and prove you are little more than another shill for the left. Your promising first point was just a flicker from the dying independent part of your mind.
That's it exactly. How can he come out in opposition against what is happening when he supports it? The only thing bothering him–if it is–is that the Iranian people won't just shut up and go away and he looks worse every day for refusing to say anything in support of them and the ones who are literally willing to die for freedom and democracy. This is exposing his true beliefs faster and better than any of his Marxist domestic programs.
What the heck is wrong you folks ! Obama was propped up and appointed to do exactly what he does, ….. and he does it extremely well . He is the press secretary for TEAM TOTUS !!! He doesn't have one original thought , and as a closet Muslim he doesn't give a damned about the Judao-Christian underpinnings of this country – which his stupid gaffes suggest he holds in utter contempt !! We have to get rid of this guy. He is pure unadulterated crap !!
But he made a speech.
I support President Obama on this one. We're already "The Great Satan". The nut cases in Iran would use anything we say that is even slightly controversial against the students protesting. Notice Israel is keeping quiet, too. Britain,
France, Germany, Belgium are not "Satans" (too week to deserve the sobriquet although under Sarkozy, France is growing hair on its chest) so can take the lead in commenting in the repression.
You're going to spend your life attacking everyone who disagrees with Conservatives. I listen often to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, Ingraham, Medved, Savage & others. That is why I feel so strongly about their motives. Obama gets nailed by that same small segment of Righties for every thing he does. It matters not what it even is. If Obama supports the protesters, he would be doing the Ayatollah and Ahmadinejad a big favor. What should he do here? Bomb them?
You first.
Precisely!
It is the liberals mad take on the circle of life we continuously suffer from. Cue the "Lion King" song. Their ideologies always equal death. Whether this issue is late term abortions, conservation, capitalism, or animal "rights", the lives of humans are always going to be trumped by an extreme Leftist/Fascist radical ideology which promotes prompt, and irreversible damage leading to death.
The Conservative side is not perfect, but one thing is for sure, we at least have a circle of life ideology where most things not only live; they thrive.
Okay, nothing I put here was remotely offensive. It did not even have words like, "Democrats are morons!" in it, but it was eaten. I have been victimized! I am a victim! I demand a thorough investigation! LOL!
I am not going to attempt to repost it just yet. I will later. But I agree with you was the jest of it.
Ditto! Which is why what Paul said about drinking Chinese milk and having our food imported is something we need to listen to.
her'es a problem with the above.. and why I disagree with them: George Will has literally fallen (IMO) to the "country-club republican style". ("Those in the belt-way know what's best for you, everyone else just "shut up and take it"" mentality..)
Buchanan: total Isolationist…so I would take most anything he says in terms of foreign policy with a grain of salt.
Kissinger: Probably the one person you mentioned, who I could listen to when it comes to this argument…
again, Moussavi is the lesser of two evils (in this case), in terms of the candidates in Iran.. but when you've got a nation that is "coming down" on democratic process, you can't just sit back and say .. "that's interesting" and not call into question the leadership for killing the democratic process.
I may not agree with Mossavi's comments/stances (and from all I've seen/heard, he's as bad if not worse that mr. "anti-zionist' , but if the people elected him, then he should be the elected-leader… (I don't agree with 98% of Obama's policies (stated and unstated), but he's the President…)
Irrevant to you, Taz, not to the Iranians for whatever THEIR reasons are; even it's the flavor of icecream each candidate likes. Their vote, their choice. Imagine if we're not allow to protest when our votes didn't count, Barry forbid.
And for not speaking out publicly about a regime that began by storming our embassy and took our people hostaged, that's not staying out of their business.
Not bomb them, but give the Iranian people the support they need, from words of encouragement to ANYTHING they need to rid of the Mullahs' oppression. We only have problems with the government/regime, not it's citizens.
You're right about the Righties attacking Barry for everything he does. We learned that from watching Lefties attacking W. Where was your moral highroad then?
Israeli is not keeping quiet
RE: lefties attacking W – - Point Taken Vince
1st – If the lefties jump off a bridge does that mean you should? Two wrongs don’t make a right. Had the left loved Bush, would the right now be going easier on Obama?
2nd – Bush always had the dark cloud of election shenanigans and his actions were mostly easy to dispute. I for one supported him when he opposed immediate deportation of illegals (i.e. compassion) and his response to the collapse of Sept. 2008.
Bush was wrong about mostly everything but if he was correct more often, he would have received more approval from the left side. Obama gets no credit because of the bitter nature of Conservative self- righteousness and their lack of tolerance for the positions of others.
He is too busy playing X-Games with his new buddy Tony Hawk
They get paid BECAUSE they have the right principles…and they are entertaining. Free market rules apply on this one.
RE:1st – IF the bridge is worthy of jumping off, then yes. In this case, Barry is taking us down the road that I don't want to be on, so I bash.
RE: 2nd – Bush won BOTH elections, regardless of the margin. However many recounts, neither Gore or Kerry got enough votes to win.
Bush was wrong on not defending himself or his administration as diligently as Barry. Fighting Al Qaida and it's affiliates is like ridding of ants or cochroaches. You can tent the whole house, or select a spot, place bates and let them come to you, ie Iraq. Rid of Saddam and have a ground to fight terrorists; 2 birds, one stone.
He could also just drop some bombs in the mountain ranges between Afghanistan and Pakistan; changed the landscape, killed Bin Laden and all the innocent villagers in the vicinity. Easy out, wouldn't you say? yet he just kept him out of action other than a few messages here and there.
The filtering is completely screwed up today. I figured out when replying to Anti-GOP that "conservative" was a trigger word, even when that was the only word the ID system balked. Maybe the system thinks there are different rules when replying to the unregistered.
Am I missing something here? Isn't the paramount issue that it is OBVIOUS that the election was a total fraud? Maybe Obama is just observing what will happen when he takes the very last of our liberties. More on-the-job training, I guess.
*Not all of us would vote Mr. Kissinger as being someone with a stellar record regarding foreign policy.
*I never listen to Pat when it comes to anything to do with foreign policy.
*You have got to be kidding in listening to George Will. George can talk baseball, and that is about as far as I take George.
*Hannity, I can take or leave when it comes to foreign policy. I like him, but at times find him to parrot things without a true knowledge base.
*Rush Limbaugh is different because Rush is a student of history. He may not have a college degree, but the man is an entire set of encyclopedias. He takes a foreign policy stance based on history; on what has worked in the past and what has not.
What I believe you are missing is that most of us on the Right wish we did not have to criticize President Skateboard so much. We have principles when we criticize him, and we back up every single criticism with facts, the law, the Constitution, history, and silly stuff like that. We are not sniffing Cheerio dust like those over at MSNBC or ABC. We are not drugged out of our minds when we speak out against little things like legal binding contracts being voided. Insert Mr. Lauria here. We do have principles!
Okay, would it make you feel better if someone who greatly disagrees with President Ice Cream said something nice about him? I am thinking. Ah ha, I have one. His suits are expertly tailored. Here is another one; I liked what he wore while touring the Pyramids. I am glad he is not sending in American arms to Iranian protesters. (Wave at the Kurds everybody!) He killed that fly with amazing speed. I do like the whole date night deal as long as it cost the American tax payers less than $1,000. Do you feel better now?
As to principles, most on my side of the aisle have not called him the atrocious names the Lefties called Bush. We have not made a movie about trying to harm the President, and I would denounce such a movie immediately. That sort of behavior should be denounced by both sides, and I do not recall such actions by the Lefties. I give you how they reacted to the death of Tony Snow. God rest his soul!
I pray the President, and his family stay safe, and are never subjected to the things the Bush family had to endure. It would behoove you to refrain from over generalizations when speaking to others regarding some sort of judgement. Quite frankly, I find it hilarious when a more Left leaning blogger will assume they know ALL of us on the Right. We are not factory made, those of us on the Right. At least not yet. Get back to me after I have been either carted off by the DHS, or place in a re-education camp. LOL!
I will say, I am looking forward to President Golf's take on the Norks nuking us, or an ally. Plus, I cannot wait to see him with the Iranian diplomats at the July 4th cookout at the White House. If I was there, I would serve Hebrew National hot dogs to all of them just for fun. LMAO! I am just dying to see who is going to be the next Tony Hawk roaming the halls of the White House!
Nope! Don't know nuttin' bout no website you mentioned. I was being sarcastic. Notta fan, mmmmmkay?
Silly troll…Obama won because so many stupid people fell for his dumb a$$ rhetoric. Here, have a mirror.
