The REAL answer is to make enough $$$ in your chosen profession so that you don't care what the grease-monkey charges as long as he fixes the car, and if he can't, find a more expensive grease-monkey who can, or, better yet, get a NEW car or even better yet, hire a LIMO!

That way you can sit in your hot-tub with a hot babe, sipping expensive wine and think about something more worthwhile like how to get elected to Congress and make some REAL $$$$$ and get your car fixed, your health care and everything else for for FREE!

Where do psychiatrists charge less than $75.00/hr? Not even an MSW therapist charges less than that, even in a small town.

And guess what else? Those jobs: mechanic, plumber, electrician, carpenter CAN'T be done by somebody sitting at a laptop in Mumbai. Cash in the 529 and send the kid to trade school.

You can change the oil on a MINI without dropping the tranny, it's just a tight squeeze… however some places just will not do it (Grease Monkey is one that wouldn't take my MINI the last time I dropped by, so I use a local mechanic now). I could do it myself but I have better things to do with my time now…

I wish I had bookmarked the article on the East Side Manhattan philosophers on how the world will be better off when the big apocalypse occurs…. mankind will be returned to 'Hunter-Gatherer' and 'more attuned to nature' .
