Let the Media’s Michael Moore Lovefest Begin
by Christian TotoDirector Michael Moore has a new movie coming soon – “Capitalism: A Love Story.”
It could only mean one thing – OK, many, many things:
- Rave reviews from at least 80 percent of film critics. And I’m being conservative.
- More press coverage than any documentary filmmaker could ever dream of.
- Few, if any, labels associated with him in the press. Liberal? Nah, he’s a muckraker, an iconoclast, a rebel, a truth teller…
- Oscar buzz aplenty. Feel badly for any other documentary filmmaker who did great work this year. Chances are you won’t be taking home the Oscar for your troubles. Better luck next year.
- More softball questions thrown his way by alleged journalists – this time, Oprah herself will get in on the action.
Moore, who won the Best Documentary Oscar for “Bowling for Columbine” and gave us the factually challenged “Fahrenheit 9/11,” has helped shape the film industry for better and worse.
He’s single handedly given the documentary genre more exposure than it’s ever had. And his films, even if they make a conservative’s teeth hurt, are often entertaining.
Too bad the press in toto will roll over and play publicist for Moore once more.

The liberal media probably won't mention that he's fat either.
HA! That photo of the fat one looks positively quaint! He looks like a concentration camp victim compared to the new and improved model. Why isn't PETA on this guy's case?

I trust the proceeds from the film will go to charity. Oprah should consider addressing the contradiction.
"Chances are you won’t be taking home the Oscar for your troubles." I dunno, Chris, he's only won one. And if the mark of a great documentarian is to incite conversation and visceral response from his work, then articles like this only show how good he really is.
This fat slob has got to be one of the most physically and ideologically disgusting things mother nature has ever produced. And Mike Baron, you're right. That is an old picture. He's much fatter and much more piggish-looking now…
I'm going to a screening of it next week but just from the trailer it looks awful. He's overwhelmed as he watches a stock ticker race across screen. Like a typical racist, he attacks what he doesn't understand because he's scared by his own ignorance.
I'm sure he won't address the role government played in creating the moral hazard regarding subprime mortgages and financial products. (all in the name of helping the people)
I'm going to a screening of it next week but just from the trailer it looks poorly done. He's overwhelmed as he watches a stock ticker race across screen. Like a typical racist, he attacks what he doesn't understand because he's scared by his own ignorance.

Ironically, he actually defines Capitalism very well. He says he makes a lot of money because people like his movies. Capitalism is the voice of the people.
He then goes on to attribute government interference in the free market to Capitalism.
My wife had a great suggestion to pass along to Mr. Moore. If one of you Big Hollywood insiders has his personal e-mail, could you possibly forward this for his consideration?
We understand he has some sort of great disdain for capitalism as an economic system. We therefore suggest that he practice Leninist wealth redistribution as a fair economic model with the proceeds from his latest film and all of his future endeavors.
In the spirit of, "From each according to his ability to each according to his need", all of the profits from Mr. Moore's film making ventures should be equally divided amongst his film crew, with the producer/director/writer/on-camera talent receiving exactly the same compensation as the key grip.
Of course, considering the production values and visual quality of Mr. Moore's work it's unclear as to whether he actually employs a key grip, but you get our point.
I'm tired of writing.
I want all of this refuse politically pulverized once and for all.
This isn't funny anymore.
Ya know, I don't want anymore of their help either. I can no longer take it.
Too bad the press in toto will roll over and play publicist for Moore once more.
Pun intended? I can't even tell you the number of film critics I've lost respect for over their Moore-fawning fests. How am I supposed to take someone's opinions on movies seriously when they never even figured out his earlier "documentaries" featured actors, scripts, factual inaccuracies and at least one case of outright plagiarism. It damages them and it damages the industry at large. If they'd just be honest, Moore would still make his millions and maybe we wouldn't look at people like Ebert as sycophantic morons (or hopeless dupes).
I am bored with Blodo. He’s irrelevant except in the mind of the witless left, yuk!
A thought occured to me as I gazed at Mr. Moore's rather rotund image pictured at the top of this essay: Were there to be a public option, and were the governing health care authorities keeping track of its' participants vital statistics (i.e. weight and life style particulars etc.), would Mr. Moore be accorded any care for any thing that might happen to him because of his personal choices? Or would his current standing as a prominent film maker allow him to keep his own private insurance no matter what his physical problems might be?….Just wondering….
Hi Des. They don't care what you , I or any of us so-called "right-wing racist nazis" think.
Haven't for quite some time.
This is now a conflict that crosses all previous lines and bounderies.
They have chosen sides and we all have to start looking at things differently now.
Under this administration's health care guidelines, Mr. Moore would be moved to the top of the list for health services based upon "future contribution to society".
It's all arugula. Lots and lots of arugula. His serum cholesterol is actually 3.
eesh, he makes me want to slap something. and not in that fun flirty kinda way….
I'll bet Jeannine Garafalo would still do him…
Documentary = Editing real things into fantasy.
If it wasn't for the comedic value of the next days obamatuerism, congressional boondoggle, czarstupid headline, shocking disregard for the US constitution, retarded economic policy…..
I would really be depressed.
And you're right. It's not funny at all.
I'm shocked! SHOCKED, to see that there are facts here.
Mr. Moore, here's your financial statement.
Oh…..ahhh…I'll ahhh…look at it later……
Good luck on that Wanda. Chances are even Moore can't see the blatant hypocrisy of charging admission for a movie that decries Self-Interest (not selfishness) and making money for yourself.

Since this revolting behemoth of a swine is against capitalism I assume he’s going to give all his profits to the govt. He’s not? Oh, he’s a typical hypocritical leftist ingrate that’s unworthy of living in a capitalist country. Go to Cuba liberal cretins so you can get away from capitalism and live in the glory of full blown socialism.
That explains why his brain refuses to function properly…
Here we go again.
Complaining that the left spends a lot of time and money to get their viewpoint across. Excuse me, but the US Constitution gaurantees Michael Moore the right to make his films and write his books.
Our side has the same right. And guess what? When CONSERVATIVES want to make a documentary (or a feature film) they sacrifice their life savings, borrow some money from Uncle Bob, and scrape together a budget of . . . oh, say, $70,000. And the film looks cheap. The people who worked on it were inexperienced. About the only way you can watch it is to buy it on the internet.
Conservatives don't want to dedicate their time, money and careers to film. Wealthy conservatives invest their money "wisely," young conservatives study buisiness or engineering, not film or journalism. So what sort of results do you expect?
I write this stuff not just to bust chops, but to see if I can motivate just ONE person, somewhere, to DO something rather than complain on a blog. Get your butt to LA!
Hey, Michael, capitalism works. It only becomes messy when your lib friends in the government try to be the invisible hand in the free market.
Case in point, your movies are an excellent example of how capitalism works and works well. You have a product and you are free to make said product for mass consumption and reap the rewards of your film. That's why you do your production work in Canada so you can avoid paying US Directors Guild dues, right?
By that yardstick, Joseph Goebbels should be in the same category as William Wyler or John Ford….
I need to get that image out of my skull.
Where's that ice pick?
Exactly. If he is so against profit, why doesn't he release his film for free online? No he gets corporate money to finance his films and then preaches against corporations. However, the guilt-ridden self-hating liberal msm will never call him out on his hypocrisy. Michael Moore is a complete uneducated loon.
I don't think so. Goebbels and, to a greater extent, Riefenstahl were responsible for documentaries that are pretty much state propaganda. Their films don't encourage questions and offer no insight into what they supposedly "document." Triumph of the Will, unlike Moore's films, presents no coherent argument. It is simply an aesthetic glorification of the Nazi party. The very fact that Moore offers opinions and encourages debate makes him wildly different from those you compare him too.
I dunno. To me the left uses movies because it's the type of media that fits their message. Big screen, lots of glitz, beautiful people, actors, fake houses & scenery, special effects, lots of fiction. Also has a tradition as good propaganda vehicle, (eg., Leni Riefenstahl).
Oh and LA can burn to a crisp/get swallowed up by an earthquake/get swept away by a muslide for all I care.
Well, I guess I won't be seeing this movie. I would hate to add any more capitalistic profits to Michael Moore's pockets than he already has. That might really p*** him off. In fact, I think everyone should boycott his movie so that he loses money. We would hate to make him mad.
Telling lies and disseminating propaganda is Moore's intent, not encouraging debate — since any open debate would quickly reveal that he is a liar, a blackguard, a hypocrite, and a stench in the nostrils of honest men.
The difference between the Nazi propagandists and Moore is NOT intent, but rather the fact that Moore, operating in a democratic society, can only control the world he creates within his own film. He is unable to present his nonsense unchallenged, as he could in the totalitarian society of his dreams. (That is, the sort of totalitarian society where he would be one of the ruling elite — perhaps with Dr. Goebbels' job.)
Of course, even in our free society, Moore generally goes unchallenged by the mainstream media — but not because they have been intimidated into silence by the Gestapo.
Aesthetically, according to the experts, Triumph of the Will was in fact a great movie. Morally atrocious, to be sure, but well done aesthetically (so they say). The same is true of Moore's movies. To the extent that he encourages questions at all, they're only meant to go in one direction–to the conservatives/Republicans/gun owners/corporate types/whatever. No one is supposed to ask him to verify his "facts" or ask if he's being fair-minded. The idea that these are only his opinions and he is encouraging debate is simply laughable. This is quite explicitly meant as a statement of fact and any criticism directed at HIM is either absurd or biased or both. To that extent, "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11," with their juvenile temper tantrums against political enemies, are much closer to Goebbels and "Triumph of the Will" than anyone on the Left would like to admit.
Geez, for someone posting on a blog about movies (well, usually), you sure seem to hate movies.
Oh, hoho!! Aren't you clever!!
Relatively.
Nah I really love 'em. Just depends on the movie and (unfortunately) who is making it because I don't much go for political manipulation in my entertainment.
Not as much as I am bored…
Apparently, it was my mistake to even entertain a comparison between Moore and Nazi propagandists, which is beyond silly. What's laughable is to say that Moore's films do not encourage debate when, in fact, they are among the most controversial and hotly debated films currently being released. Intent has little to do with it.
But they'll remind us that Limbaugh USED to be fat.
If you haven't seen "An American Carol", now is the perfect time.
I'll do my part to fight evil capitalism my posting Michael Moore's films on usenet, torrent sites and rapidshare.
I'll help my fellow comrades and stop the fat bearded baseball wearing evil capitalist from making a profit on this film.
I guess your definition of debate is Moore putting his movie out. The media and academia fawning over it like a bunch of teenagers at a Beatles concert. Anyone who disagrees with his conclusions will be described as a bible beating neanderthal, or even worse a conservative. Moore's movies have nothing to do with inciting debate, they are simply about bashing one side. The comparisons to nazi's is ridiculous. He is too stupid and arrogant to be that dangerous. The man is simply a closed minded idealogue and anyone like that in this country(on either side of the aisle) is the real problem.
Meh, isn't Moore just preaching to the choir? Liberals, including Michael Moore, will always see the worst of America, conservatives will alway see the best.
What? We're debating it right here! Similar debates occur constantly! This is not an isolated incident! That is my definition of encouraging debate!
Remember when Moore posted his own movie (Sicko) on the internet for free?
Viva-la-Revolution!
This isn't debate. There are no ideas or fresh insights being bandied about here. Just personal opinions being served and volleyed back and forth. For what its worth, I agree with bbbbb. Michael Moore is a self serving tool.
His face says, "QUICK! Take the picture! This flag is burning my hand!!!"
There's a documentary premiering this week called "Walt & El Grupo", a film about Walt Disney touring Latin American countries with his animators to increase good will for the US. I hope Michael Moore's film doesn't wipe all others out of any consideration. Documentaries about real subjects vs. documentaries that beat dead horses….. I'd much rather see "Walt & El Grupo".
The profits should be redistributed to Obama and all 33-34 czars and Cabinet officers, the US Senate and House members to in turn redistribute it to worthy projects of stimulus and the fight against poverty and ignorance, and so that those who need health care will get health care.
If wealth redistribution is anything like here in New Orleans 4 years ago after hurricane Katrina, the wealth redistribution will go to a contractor. Who in turn will do a lot of hiring. Who will in turn never see a dime of the money. Who will quit because they never got paid what was promised. Federal money meant for debris removal was turned over to a contractor who in turn hired sub-contractors to hire truck drivers with large heavy duty truck beds which can haul away debris by the cubic feet/weight. The debris hauling began. But it turned out that the individual truck drivers were never paid timely. Many of them were under paid for all the hauling they were doing, or never paid, so they quit. Yet the head contractor had all the money! In hindsight, four years later, we had Cash for Clunkers. And the car dealers are still waiting to be paid, while the money is still upstream somewhere no one can quite trace….
If Mr. Moore could do a documentary about how the money flow from taxpayers to Katrina victims got stalled by a shady system of contractors not trickling down to the rank and file, and how it pre-dated the Cash for Clunkers and bail outs of 2008-2009, THEN he'd hae one heckuva documentary!
Constitution grants right of free speech. But not the right to be agreed with. Or heard.
Sorry, it's not "debate" they stimulate, if by that you mean a principled discussion of issues raised. All Moore's sick Marxist hatchet jobs stimulate is 'debate' over Moore himself: his utter lack of principle, ethics, honesty, his fabricated "facts," his "attributed" non-quotes, his cut-and-pasted "interviews",. and his glorification of the indefensible while foully slandering the good and decent.
It's rather like saying David Irving stimulates "debate" about the Holocaust.
The only principled "debate" is over which circle of Hell awaits Moore when his overdure coronary arrives.
Rubbish! We're not debating any of the issues Moore purports to raise: we're debating Moore himself.
Whereas the Left gets 7-figure budgets from wealthy liberals (including but not limited to Hollywood celebutards and studio heads) to make flop after flop after flop after flop, and don't mind losing the money, and AMPAS and the Foreign Press Assn and assorted festival juries dutifully fork over the awards and honors, the film-critic circlejerk proclaims them "powerful," "thought-provoking," "timely, "a searing indictment" blah blah blah.
Jeez, and Chomsky thought it was the *right* that manufactured opinion……..
Yeah and the downloads on it were about half what they were for some stupid horror movie that lost its a$$ at the blox office? Even free, it didnt do that well……

If Moore ever contracted a flesh eating disease the doctors would give him 35 years to live.
The real "culprits" here are the conservatives who choose to do nothing.
They have 1001 rationalizations: Family obligations. Work obligations. Their broker will not permit them to invest money in a movie, because it is "too risky" and does not fit in with their "disiplined portfolio." For the conservatives who are not wealthy, they have "no time" to devote – but there is always time for golf, for a visit to a casino, or watching basketball on cable. Their country needs them, but they have "no time."
I drove to LA from Virginia at age 46, with no contacts or experience in the entertainment industry. My first documentary (as writer-director) went into post-production on 8/24/09. I am developing a half dozen ideas, most highly political. I need money and labor. The left always has plenty of both, because leftists are willing to devote their money (and time) to put forth their views. Sadly, conservatives do not wish to do likewise.
awwwww….dude………
*retch*
ok…..hot chicks…hot chicks….hot chicks..
c'mon
…hot chicks….. OK, I'm better now.
He will of course be giving out free tickets to ALL of his movies from now on right? I mean capitalism is horrible so he shouldn't be making money right on them right? Yeah right……….
http://middleclasshooligans.wordpress.com/
Which was my point.
MM simply bloviates to fill the available space, sort of like his waistline is doing now…and he controls the direction of expansion…
Many very good documentarians WANT debate on both sides, in point of fact, they NEED the debate to give both sides…so people can confront the issue intelligently.
Chuck hit the truth inadvertently; and immediately steered away as quickly as possible. The propagandist MM makes good movies. The documentarian MM is a waste of talent, film, and money…
Excellent! +1 to you!
Well, if Barry and the Congress would stop stealing mine…
Actually, I enjoy everyone telling me how wonderful "State of Play" was, how topical, etc.
And I laughed Boldly in their faces when it bombed financially…
I believe the Left should continue to waste capital on such projects at every opportunity; so when they finally go Weinstein Group completely, (no money), I can have a hysterical chuckle at their expense…
Now, that's an idea…
ROTFLMAO!
"Conservatism is not the doctrine of the intellectual elite or of the more intelligent segments of the population, but the reverse. By every measure available to us, conservative beliefs are found most frequently among the uninformed, the poorly educated, and the less intelligent"
McClosky, H. (1958). Conservatism and personality. American Political Science Review, 52, 27-45.
"It appears that conservatism has pathological dimensions manifested in violence and distorted psycho-sexual development" (Boshier, 1983, p. 159). This is supported by a study conducted by Walker, Rowe, and Quincey (1993) in which there was a direct correlation between authoritarianism and sexually aggressive behavior. An investigation done by Muehlenhard (1988) revealed that rape justification and aggression toward subordinate individuals was much higher in traditional (conservative personality) than non-traditional personalities."

Why doesn't this fatass moron make a political doc. about the connection between liberal policies and the inner cities they rule? Perhaps he should start with Detroit, where no Republican has been elected since the stone age.
Yep. Looks like another misinformation film documentary by socialist Moore which will please only the socialist liberals who can't seem to get enough of this nonsense. Hopefully enough of these liberal films, and we have just started to get them as there are several on the way, solved down our way the majority of the audiences will finally get so fed up with hollywood liberal crap they will turn away from hollywood for many years to come. If conservatives and like minded independents would discipline themselves, hollywood could be taught a lesson they won't soon forget. Yep. wishful thinking, I know.
Bad movies loose money. Great movies (even if they have a political message) make money. Examples: Deer Hunter. China Syndrome. Full Metal Jacket. Platoon. Norma Rae. All great movies. All highly political. All made tons of money. Why? Because they are great films. The belief "political movies loose money" is false.
However, yours is a typical conservative belief that money spent on the arts is "wasted." THIS is why the left dominates the culture. If we conservatives are to win back the culture over the next generation, we need to at least match the left. That takes time, money, and effort – areas where conservatives are MIA. The left knows this, and they believe that conservatives are just tightwads and don't want to part with their money. Are they correct?
This documentary will be regularly shown to grades 8 through 12 as a "lesson in economics." Do you think that is far fetched? An Inconvienient Truth is HAS ALREADY been shown to millions of American high school students as "a lesson in science."
Moore's right to make films is protected by the US Constitution. Michael Moore does not make me angry. What makes me angry are the millions of conservatives who have time anf money (or at least one of those two) and who choose to DO NOTHING to promote their own views.
The truth hurts: leftists have dedicated their time, money and careers to make their films, while our side has decided that movies are "unimportant." Every time the left triumphs with their propaganda (which helped put Obama in office) conservatives get angry – but really they should be angry with themselves.
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Big Hollywood and Howard Rose. Big Hollywood said: Let the Media’s Michael Moore Lovefest Begin http://bit.ly/19U34s [...]
Ken Burns is a great documentarian. You experience, you learn, you remember. Last I checked, his work didn't incite much conversation, and certainly not media-hogging controversy, but it is so majestic it does evoke true visceral responses. However, you need to check your use of the term "visceral response" with regards to Moore's work, unless you think gagging and puking should count.
Did you even look at your list?
Deer Hunter, anti-war/military (liberal) message.
China Syndrome, anti-nuclear (liberal) message.
Full Metal Jacket, anti-war/military (liberal) message.
Platoon, anti-war/military (liberal) message.
Norma Rae, pro-union (liberal) message.
So you are arguing there can be successful conservative political movies by highlighting successful liberal political movies!
Don't you get what this article, what the BH site, is all about? The MSM is liberal, the entertainment industry is liberal, both are in an ongoing orgy with money and awards getting thrown about, and conservatives are shut out. That is why "money spent on the arts is wasted," when all it normally does for us is keep the lovefest going. If they won't let our voice be heard, then why support them at all?
I'll do my part to fight evil capitalism my posting Michael Moore's films on usenet, torrent sites and rapidshare.
I'll help my fellow comrades and stop the fat , bearded, baseball cap wearing evil capitalist from making a profit on this film.
You miss the point. Many people here have argued (on this thread and others) that "political films loose money." By listing those films, I am making the point that political films CAN and DO make money. All of the films listed are GREAT films. They made tons of money, dispite their STRONG POLITICAL CONTENT.
So, where are the conservative films? We know that liberal producers will never fund a conservative version of Deer Hunter, for example. So why don't conservatives fund movies? Why are there not more conservatives in LA making movies (with me)? Because, apparently, conservatives do not want to invest their time and money into film. Therefore, they have no one but themselves to blame if the movie industry is dominated by leftists.
So far I have read that the movie is critical of Democrats, for the bailouts etc, but is carefully not critical of Barry.
It has come to this. Now that the liberals are in charge, the job is done, and Moore can now be discarded as unneeded, he is forced to try to show he still has some clout by kicking the Dems to inform them he is still useful. Yeah, that'll work. And he thinks Barry's supporters will be grateful for his efforts? Maybe by the time his next movie comes out, we can check on that with both of them.
Question, who are you? There is a Glenn Damato listed at IMDB as writer and director of a documentary, Fatty, originally released in 2008, which apparently went nowhere and doesn't even have a Wikipedia listing. Above you say your first documentary as writer and producer hit post-production on 8/24/09. Oh, and you are complaining about getting financing.
Any connection?
Wow! That's an old pic. He actually looks somewhat human.
He's a turd. A very laaaarge turd.
Maybe during his next indoctrination speech, Barry will order our children to watch this movie.
It's all about priorities!
[...] Let The Media’s Michael Moore Love Fest Begin [...]
I heard Hugo and Obama are wetting their panties with excitement over Moore's new propoganda film. Is little Katie Couric in it?
I would like to personally thank Michael Moore for revealing in stark unapologetic terms what Americans have suspected all along about Democrats: They are socialists.
Not just your European-style, welfare-state supporting socialists, but the "abolish private property" and "money is the root of all evil" kind of socialists.
Moore's film on capitalism will provide a much-needed wake up call to the non-Fox News watching public. Though the effete snobs on the East coast cocktail circuit may believe that working class Americans share their disgust for "filthy lucre," the fact is that Americans have no problem with working hard to earn money and disposing of it on luxuries that the great majority of the people in the world can only dream of.
This brings up a few questions for the insipid Michael Moore and his ilk:
How can Americans have so many luxuries? Is it because they traveled to Africa and stole plasma TVs and laptop computers from the natives?
What does it say about a country that is having an obesity epidemic? That the people are too poor to feed themselves? Or that they are overeating out of boredom, which implies leisure and excess?
Why is it that most American households have two televisions, a computer, and at least one automobile? Is that how you define an "evil" economic system?
What does it say about a government that is already overspending on the order of trillions to support altruistic programs? That we should increase spending on government programs until the system collapses, and then government bureaucrats and socialist pseudo-intellectuals like Michael Moore, who have never built anything up anything in their lives, can sort out the mess?
Why don't socialists sort out the messes they've already created before moving on to more ambitious projects? They can start with Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans…
Is it impossible for the left to take accountability for their failures because a higher order of magnitude for socialist failure is needed in order for it to finally "work"?
What is so magical about giving the state unlimited unrestrained universal power that will lead to communist utopia? Doesn't this strike anyone on the left as a tad bit dangerous and well, utopian? And that maybe it is time to mature in one's views and to give up childish fancies in exchange for a learned, serious appreciation of human nature and a consideration of the best form of government to guide people to individual and therefore collective success?
If attaining to the arbitrary, unnatural, and completely contrived moral standard of equality is that we all live equally impoverished, equally subjugated lives under a powerful paternal state, then I say I am ready to live in the "evil" real world of capitalism and cooperation based on mutual benefit rather than in the left's world of equality and arbitrary coercion.
Thus we owe a debt of gratitude to Michael Moore for stating in unmistakable terms an opinion that had remained so powerful precisely because it was tacit: That capitalism is "evil." Making the argument imminent and real in light of the socialistic actions of the government causes the mystique of the anti-capitalist position to fall away, leaving only an unromantic notion and the corresponding conclusion that socialism has outlived its era, and leftist charlatans have overstayed their welcome.
The fact that the left's ugly anti-freedom position is being propagated by an ugly cast of leftist characters does no favors for the already historically discredited position of socialism. Michael Moore will prove himself to be a useful idiot with the release of his film smearing capitalism. A big fat useful idiot.
Why are we even talking about this lying a-hole? Everyone here should do themselves a favor and watch "Why Michael Moore Hates America". His movies are nothing but socialist propaganda and most of the people he suckers into his movies have no problem saying he twisted everything, especially in Bowling for Columbine.
He disgusts me….
Gosh, James Dobson was foretold! Facts bother not-so-brietbarters.
Moore is doomed.
He's gone from LEAVE IT TO BEAVER husky to JOHN CANDY death blubber obese.
Dead inside of a year at this rate.
Check with anyone who actually knows something about Jazz or the Civil War before you think too highly of his documentaries.
Moore is too much!!! Capitalism is bad, bad, bad. I've got mine……suckers, by tearing down the very system that made my "success" posssible. I'll be Okay….and as for you……not my problem!!! And Deadwood is buying into this…..Gotcha!!!!
Those movies all came out about 30 years ago, if not longer. Save for Full Metal Jacket and Platoon which each came out at least 20 years ago.
As for the Michael Moore issue, he twists truth with lies and innuendo – kind of like Satan – to further his message. And he has useful idiots (like an uncle of mine) who are more than willing to watch this drivel and spout it off as if it's gospel to anyone who will listen.
Still, Keep up the hard work and keep your dream alive. Me? I don't waste my money on movies unless they entertain me and don't preach to me.
Amen!
Having to rebut this disingenuous prick’s drivel is an affront! Is capitalism perfect? No, but I believe Churchill’s dictum on democracy applies here…"Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."
Fatty is my film, and we went into post-production (editing) August 24 2009 – it will not be released until later this year. It's a 2009 film.
Whether or not Fatty "goes anywhere" at least I am a conservative who has taken ACTION! I drove to LA in 2006 at age 46 without any connections or experience. I'm developing a half-dozen different ideas and gaining movie making experience. Am I going to change the world alone? No, but compare this to the millions of conservative "patriots" who choose to do nothing but sit home and complain.
I kinda think Moore has jumped the proverbial shark, even among lefties. Though I'd laugh myself sick over the hypocrisy of people who earn more than I'll see in a lifetime awarding another rich man for making a movie that trashes the very system that created limos, designer gowns, and $1 million diamond necklaces on loan from Harry Winston.
