‘Entertainment Weekly’ Hearts Perez Hilton
by Christian TotoThe folks at Entertainment Weekly see little wrong with the tabloid exploits of blogger Perez Hilton. The fevered mind behind Perezhilton.com, a site that makes US Weekly look like The Economist, gets a glowing feature article in this week’s edition. The mag allowed Hilton, known for scribbling angry/hateful/pornographic images all over celebrity pics, to decorate his own portrait with terms like “Zexy,” “Faboosh” and “Hawt.”
But that’s nothing compared to the kid glove treatment Hilton gets in the accompanying text.
For the uninitiated, Hilton runs one of the most popular tabloid sites on the Web, and his most recent claim to fame was grossly insulting Miss California, Carrie Prejean, after she dared to oppose gay marriage during the recent Miss USA pageant.
EW’s profile touches on some of Hilton’s more outlandish behavior and notes the disdain he inspires in some PR circles. It also recounts his recent skirmish with the manager of the Black Eyed Peas which left him bruised and beaten (Hilton called group singer will.i.am the “F” word which inspired the altercation).
Hilton claims the Black Eyed Peas incident “matured” him. So a follow-up question on the Prejean matter seems more than appropriate – unless the magazine didn’t think such a mea culpa was even necessary.
The magazine doesn’t bother. Nor does it bother to ask Hilton his thoughts on President Barack Obama’s position on gay marriage (Obama’s against it). Would Hilton, now a gay rights figure to some, call the president the same names he labeled Prejean? Why or why not?
That might make for an illuminating discussion, but EW would rather pump up Hilton, excuse his excesses and use his hateful site as a way to sell magazines.

Well Hilton is a symptom of a bigger problem. Shallow narcissism, where surface garbage and an inability to be honest with oneself is the rule, rather than the exception.
Peabrain Hilton is one with BO. His fifteen minutes have been up for months. He reminds me of the school yard bully after he has been beaten down by a man a foot shorter. Whining about his nose.
I wonder who next will beat him down.
Perez Hilton (phony name for a phony human being) is a pimple on the arse of society.
"Well Hilton is a symptom of a bigger problem. Shallow narcissism, where surface garbage and an inability to be honest with oneself is the rule, rather than the exception. "
I'd say Hilton has at least one thing in common with Herr Chancellor Barry Ohbrother, then.
I wish the Peas' manager would hit him again.
That's insulting to self-respecting pimples!!
Perez Hilton–so many absolutely hilarious gay guys and this jerk can't even get off a funny so he draws 4th grade cartoons on his web page? I'd think the left would dump the dude.
By swooning over this piece of garbage, EW has only revealed that it's crawled into the same waste bucket with Perez. Truly, in this case, swamp water has met its own level.
where's the line start to pop said pimple? Got my own hazmat suit ready.
Sure we remember the "Affair of the Black Eyed Peas." Even GLAAD got on the dumpy little demagogue's case becasue of this. Well we can see that all is now forgiven and it is full steam ahead toward that peculiar celebrity Mr. Hilton craves. It just proves what I have been saying for the last twenty years. Civilization began an irrevocable spiral downward when "People" magazine begat the celebrity worship culture now typified by "Entertainment Weekly: and it's various clones. Fame is an end in itself and the reasons for that fame are inconsequential. It would be laughable except for the harm that a little creep like Mr. Hilton can do in the real world.
Perez Hilton (or whatever his name is) is possibly one of the most disgusting excuses for a human being on the face of the earth. He certainly has no redeeming qualities and his claim to fame appears to be spewing insults, venom and hate. Who needs that in their life? I think his 15 minutes is now up.
He's exactly what the left ebraces.
He's exactly what the left ebraces. To dump him would be judgemental.
Does your hazmat resist acid? I ask that because he is like the monsters from the Alien franchise.
If I were Obama, I'd be looking at that photo right now thinking, "Please, stop helping!"
I fervently hope he is gang-raped to death by his compassionate fellow deviants. I know there is nothing wrong with wishing death on people for their views, because THE ONEs recent dinner guest, the disgusting lesbian hypocrite, (she wishes others dead for their views, but sits and eats with THE ONE, who holds those same views), Wanda Sykes, set a new precedent in lowering the bar in public discourse.
It's not easy, but I guess I'll get used to it.
No one in recent times has proven to be more vile and disgusting, and why anyone but the degenerates he emulates would listen to him, is beyond me.

Oh, yeah, WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE? and Bush did it.
good point, better make it a tefflon suit then.
Figures. I don't care much for either Mr. Lavanderia or Entertainment Weakly.
"Mr. Lavanderia" I like it. Did you make it up?
seriously, no more
You can try to justify yourself anyway you want. But you sir have soiled yourself.
Can we stop talking about this guy. really it's getting embarassing.
Why do you keep looking at something that supposedly disgusts you?
He won't become a footnote if you focus on him.
But maybe you don't want him to go away.
Good point. Although, he does epitomize what exactly the extreme-lefties are. Whining B!tches with nothing inside. The way I see it, they keep on bringing up Palin, we keep on bringing up Peabrain Hilton (what lazypadawan refers to as Mr. Lavenderia) as the perfection of the left.
Hey, fair is fair.
That's his real name I think, something Hispanic like that…

Entertainment Weekly is not a political rag. But one can assume it's writers are more or less political, and overwhelmingly liberal. At least that's my assumption. That's why they repeatedly aim broadsides at Palin, even though she's not an entertainer. She is a media star, I guess, but I don't remember EW talking about John Edwards very often. And seldom are the little slaps part of a larger story, like "Daily Show Is Better Than Real News," or "Obama and the Media: They Love Him".
Geez this guy again?
Perez, I am SO over you!
Buy a life girlfriend.
Not Over.
I subscribed for years to EW. It used to have occasional thoughtful articles on current trends and old Hollywood masters. But as mentioned in the article, it has followed the lead of US (Lots of Pictures! Fewer words and no big words.)
Glad my subscription died before this. (Though I did get that naked horrid Dixie Chicks cover. No, they're not about politics.)
Perez, under islam you would be dead. Remember it's all of the freedoms we enjoy that a peice of $hit like you is alowed to live at all.
Good question- it's like gawkers slowing down to see a car wreck. Or maybe the latest attraction at the zoo- I guess in this case an entirely new species of swamp denizen.
But I'm with you- I don't quite get the never-ending fascination with this lowlife creep.
He will be a footnote soon enough- if he even attains that goal.
Lavandeira: Portuguese for "laundry", as in "I started a blog because I couldn't even get a job at the industrial laundry."

Sorry, but in other celebrity news, I was not aware that Paul Rodriguez was slowly but surely turning into a Conservative. Interesting piece at NB regarding the same. Maybe I was slow to this story:

Paul Rodriguez is a farmer whose farm is dying for water because of a tiny fish protected by enviromentalists.
The water he needs won't be given to him. According to the enviromentalists, feeding people isn't as important as keeping a fish alive that doesn't matter any way.
Gay or not gay- this guy is a douche
car wreck watchers. exactly
I used to get Entertainment Weekly on Fridays and read it cover to cover. For about a year, though, it's steadily gotten worse. More and more "political" coverage of entertainment news. Plus it's getting shorter with bigger pictures. I won't be renewing my subscription (even though it was free – bought with unused flight miles).
I agree. I long for the days when I didn't know who this A$$ clown is.
But, at some point the wreck is cleared from the road, and we can all move on….(hopefully soon in his case).
Ah, no more Perez!
Photoshop him out of the public eye, please.
You are correct sir. I just changed my pants. While I have gotten used to the daily, constant liberal attacks on me, I felt it was time to dig a hole as deep as I could and try to reach their level. I know I came nowhere near the depths of their depravity, I made my point. I will endeavor to not be drawn to their disgusting state of mind in the future.
I stand by my statement.
Be well,

How the word "bully" can be applied to this testosterone deprived child boggles the mind. Have words lost all meaning??
I feel like I know you! ha-ha!
Interested to know that Bruno is NOT funny. I thought originally it may have had possibilities but later heard it is a mangled mess of NOT funny.
As they say, "Babe! If you can't think of anything nice to say, sit right here by me." And you can, anytime!
As a lifelong absolutely hilarious gay guy, thank you for your comment
The majority of gays have worked hard, been good people, tried hard to be part of society.
It just sucks that the end result of all that hard work is – Perez Hilton…oh and now Bruno, played by a heterosexual actor.
Perez Hilton has the same quality as Barack Obama, apparently people see "something" in them. They see much more than is really there.
In the case of Barack, an empty suit (if we are lucky that's all he is) and in the case of Perez, they see something clever and talented.
I don't get it.
