Tomlin Attacks Palin, Cavuto in New Vid

Lily Tomlin’s newest video blasts Gov. Sarah Palin and Fox News’ Neil Cavuto.
But Tomlin forgot to bring the funny.
The ageless comedian’s new “humor” clip can be seen at The Women on the Web’s site. In it, she dresses up as her iconic Ernestine character, the opinionated telephone operator, to lash out at those she thinks are cruel to animals. It plays out like one of Jon Stewart’s “Daily Show” rants. Yeah, that bad.
When did comedians give up on making us laugh?
Naturally, Gov. Palin’s animal hunting from helicopters theme comes up first. Next, Ernestine rails against Cavuto for suggesting lobsters don’t feel pain when they’re being boiled.
Tomlin can certainly make whatever argument she pleases, but can’t she at least amuse us at the same time?
The funniest part, and not ha ha funny, is that Tomlin treats Michael Vick with far less anger and venom than she delivers to Cavuto or Gov. Palin.
Tomlin feels weird judging Vick, the chronic dog abuser, but not the Alaskan Governor. Hmmm.

These Hollywood celebs are bound and determined to kill, tear apart and bury Palin with every last stupid joke they have. I thought it was old news. Well, we see what is ahead for 2012. Too bad nobody informed the incredible shrinking woman that copper lines and telephone operators are as anachronistic and irrelevant as "Laugh In."
Lily Tomlin! She was funny 40 years ago on Laugh In. What I am thinking? No she wasn't! Worst TV show EVER.
This is a flop! I've watched Tomlin for years, saw her one-woman show a few years back – she is a pro, she has brains, she has timing. But this? This is so awful, so amateurish, so utterly without a single laugh, not even a mild titter that I can't believe a professional with as much experience as Tomlin could possibly have produced something this awful.
And thanks, Toto, for bringing up a very important point. Tomlin treats Michael Vicki kinder than Sarah Palin. A surly unrepentent bully who drowned and electrocuted dogs because they wouldn't rip out another animal's guts is literally treated better by Tomlin than Palin. Oh, lord – if THIS type of 'value' judgment isn't the epitome of LDS (leftist derangement syndrome), than I don't know what is.
As a side note, lobsters do not, in fact, feel pain as they are being boiled. Lobsters have no cerebral cortex. All they know is that "conditions have changed" and they should attempt to move elsewhere.
Although I'm not sure the likes of Tomlin and Stewart could rise to even that minimal challenge.
It's never too late to be an anachronism.

1) Dog is man's best friend. Vick gets no sympathy from me.

I actually loved Laugh In. It certainly had more laughs than SNL has had in twenty years. The only one I didn't like was Lily Tomlin. She always looked like she just took a big suck on a lemon and there was no sugar available anywhere.

There seems to be a resurgence of mediocre B-actors/musicians trying for comebacks these days. What's in the water? I'd have more respect for them if they developed more original, edgier material. Bashing Gov. Palin is so played, especially when President Obama and his staff provide silver platter material on a daily basis.

First, she clearly had more experience, more composure, and better judgment than the poser-in-Chief running the country now. When they see her, the know deep down how bad their new hero is. Thus, they attack her to keep down their buyers remorse.

IF you are going to 'try to be funny' in order to insult someone, surely one would GET FACTS before flying out the window on one's comedy broom. ( in this case, NO comedy and the broom is splintered and thatched)

As the criticism of President Obama and his administration mounts, (an especially tough week to sell "Change You Can Believe In" …"It wasn't a bow") the shrillness of the left intensifies.

This reminds me of a time when my wife and I saw a band called Betty at the Roosevelt in Hollywood. This had to be about 1992. I don't know if the girls in Betty are lesbians but the crowd was extreme Hollywood lefties. Lily Tomlin was a few tables away from us. The opening act was some lady from a talk radio program. I can't remember her name. Anyway, she was trying to be funny and wasn't really. At one point, she says, "I'm on talk radio. Do any of you listen to talk radio?" My wife gives a big "Whoo Hoo!" So, this woman says, "hey, we got a talk radio fan over here. Who do you listen to?" My wife boldly replies, "Rush!" A noticeable gasp is heard throughout the room. "Rush, why do you listen to him?" "Because he speaks the truth!" More loud gasps are heard as I try to duck under the table to avoid the knives that were about to be thrown. A good comedian could have ripped my wife to shreds but she was dumbfounded that anyone there would listen to Rush. She was speechless and had to change the topic.
It is because she is a string conservative woman who managed to convince us conservatives that she has what it takes to lead this country. Should she become elected they would lose one of the key planks of their identity politics. The left really does not care about individual black people, hispanic people, or women. They care about the power these groups can provide them.
Anything that erodes that brings their ire and they will stoop to any lie, any despicable act to stop it. Palin is treated with no less derision as Justice Thomas, or Herman Caine, or Walter Williams.
The fact that Palin is Christian as well is another damning thing to them. Religion has to destroyed because it competes for the total control they demand. It is the mindset of these Fascists, Communists who feel they alone must control everyone esle. They consider themselves Plato's Chosen, the Guardians of the Republic whose special wisdom should empower them to proscribe what shall be allowed in society.
The only thing I can think of, because it's as baffling to me as it is to you, is because she's the antithesis of everything they supposedly stand for and she seems really happy. Lefties are the most bitter, angry group of entitlement-hungry people I have ever seen and Palin is a smart, self-sufficient, pro-life, pro-gun gorgeous woman who has the gall to be happy. How dare she.

Movies and Television are so twisted to me. They used to make movies like Swordfish and The Last Kiss Goodnight whose creators couldn't concieve that someone from the middle east could blow something up here in the states, they were blamless for some reason. Great logic there. Now, we've got celebrities pledging allegiance to a guy who wants to stop the alleged Changing Weather by… Changing the Weather. Not only that, but she also gives credit to her conservative beliefs for letting her achieve those things. If the left lets her gain credibility, how many young women who want the things Palin has for themselves could realize that there are many more avenues to success and happiness than becoming a bitter leftist harpy? In short, Palin threatens a cornerstone victim group of the left's power, and she must be destroyed.

She was on the show in '69 and '70. She first tried out her Ernestine routine there. She would act out calling a famous person, and get the name wrong while telling him or her that they had an unpaid phone bill. For instance, she called William F. Buckley, and opened with "Is this the party to whom I am speaking—William Fbuckley? You have an unpaid bill, and if you don't pay it by the end the week, we will be forced to cut off your utility." Mildly funny the first couple of times, but the joke wore out quickly. But at that time the jabs weren't vicious.
So many of these people used to be funny and/or good actors. Considering the vitriol they spit out these days, I'm convinced that Bush Derangement Syndrome really exists. It's a form of Tourette's syndrome, and it's a progressive (pun intended) disease which ultimately destroys the mind entirely.

I was a big fan of Sean Penn's work, who didn't love Jeff Spicolli?? I think Alec Baldwin is hilarious. But both of these people have morphed into liberal extremists. BDS is the only plausible explanation.
