Honoring September 11th: Flight 93, and a Free People
by Chuck DeVoreToday, eight years ago, acts of unspeakable evil were committed on American soil. Al-Qaeda terrorists killed almost 3,000 people.
Whether the effort to preserve our liberties, secure our Constitution, and protect our people is called the “Global War on Terror” or “Overseas Contingency Operations,” the result of failure is the same: more terror and death.
Let us stop to reflect on what happened eight years ago and pray for the families of the dead, both civilian and uniformed, and the living serving on the front lines of freedom. As we do, let us also remember the nature of the attacks in far flung places like Mumbai, Islamabad, Jerusalem, Beirut, Baghdad, Kabul, and Sderot.
Lastly, be mindful and thankful for the heroic actions of a free people on Flight 93. These Americans took the initiative. They didn’t wait for government to tell them what to do. They didn’t need instructions. As a free people, comfortable with weighing their options, making decisions and taking appropriate risks, they rushed the terrorist-controlled cockpit. As a result of their actions, the fourth terrorist attack, destined for the U.S. Capitol or the White House, was brought down in rural Western Pennsylvania.
It was with Flight 93 that the American response to 9/11 began only one hour and eleven minutes after Flight 11 was crashed into the World Trade Center’s North Tower. The American counterattack was conceived by civilians who voted to rush the al-Qaeda terrorists.
They voted.
At 9:55 am passenger Todd Beamer was heard saying, “Let’s roll!” Within two minutes, the struggle was on.
As long as the spirit of a free people reigns in America, enemies of all stripes, whether terrorist organizations or nation states, will fail in their deadly and tyrannical designs.

9-11: The Desecration

Add another Obama insult to injury on 9-11. First, he desecrated the memory of 9-11 with his planned proclamation of his mandatory civilian service on 9-11, which he has designated a "National Day of Service." And now 9-11 has yet another title: State Department personnel are supposed to pray with Muslims on the newly declared "Interfaith Day of Service," whatever that means on 9-11.

Just finished watching "United 93". Again. The bravery of those men and women never fails to astound me. Firefighters, policemen, ordinary citizens … all were heroes on 9/11/01.
May their memory be eternal.

Even IF the attacks were carried out by Muslims and not Israelis (who have a long history of committing false flag terror attacks against American targets) and your response is to attack Muslims….then what is the appropirate response when Israel, using an American aid an weapons, murders the Muslims own family members???? If we weren't involved in this fight, which certainly isn't ours, we wouldn't have even been attacked.

NO good. Having an "Interfaith Day of Service" on one particular faith's holiday will elicit accusations of favoritism brought about by Imperialist feelings. Hillary Rodman will be planning Taiwan's Glorius Reunion with The Middle Kingdom with Hu JIntao that week anyway, so Barney Frank is being given the task of taking care of Barry. (Frank thinks it's a reward for good work, of course.)

They've always been around, but until Jimmy Carter put them out on the streets, there was plenty of space for them at the mental hospitals. The internet gives them more unfiltered exposure than they used to have. Lastly, there are not as many people willing to just beat a sense of common decency into them anymore.

They were delayed taking off, and in the end the passengers gathered enough information from their loved ones on the ground to realize their flight was a suicide mission. And they counterattacked terrorism.
In the end, "no greater love hath a man than he lay down his life for his friends."
