you notice that the politicians always protect themselves –
example 1 – the telemarketers are banned from calling people on the no call list – but how convienient that the politicians can pester the hell out of you at dinner time.
now we have example 2 – parody for non commercial use is ok – but i think political use of this is a real stretch.
this is exploiting that "non-commercial use/non-profit" rule to an extreme.
I commend Don Henley for standing up to the thieves.

I consider myself quite liberal… but the self righteousness argument is falling back in your face… what and all that it comes down to is someone wrote a song and you posted it as a representation of your own beliefs. but that's not that bad in and of itself. what's very uncool is that you didn't bother to ask and you didn't bother to care how the author would feel about it. what it comes down to is that with a song that is that well known, it would be extremely difficult to use it without generating a conception that henley shares your views regarding the issues your platform is involved with. and that wouldn't be so bad either, except for the fact that you're a moron.

I thought the band was well-rounded in several musical areas. But I was a fan of every other artist you mentioned as well. I liked Jackson Browne too, but still felt The Eagles covered his songs better than he did himself. As for Nesmith, it's going to be a long time before anyone tops "her name was Rodan." I don't know what Nesmith is up to today, but Jackson Browne's even nuttier than Henley.
