Actually libertarians aren't pro those things, those things are just the natural extension of their belief that every one should be free to do pretty much what ever they want.

Which means if some one wants to do certain drugs for recreational purposes, the state should not be allowed to prevent them. And by the same extension, if some one chooses not to do drugs, they should be free to not do them.

The key is the decision should be left up to the individual, not dictated by others using the state as an enforcer.

That's why they seem to be all over the place. And trust me, modern liberalism is one of their biggest enemies. Libertarians believe in supremacy of the individual over the state, while all liberals and a good portion of what passes for conservatism (Bush's 8 years of spending, demonstrate that perfectly) believe in the supremacy of the state over the individual.

I once used to think I was more in line with libertarians until I actually went to their site and found out exactly what they believe in. After that I think libertarians are the same as liberals. They are pro-gay marrage, pro-open boarders, pro-legalization of all drugs, pro-abortion. No thanks. I will remain a conservative Republican.

I'm sorry, but listening to your pool girl play the Moraccas while you beat your dog to death for killing a garden snake is not the same thing as having an "attack rattler" on the premises.
