9/12: The Revolution Has Begun
by Chris BurgardWhat began on the border in 2005 has spread to DC and every state in the union. The Revolution isn’t coming, it is here. Call it the Constitution Revolution. The genie is out of the bottle and there will be no putting her back in.
I spent all day yesterday up and down Pennsylvania Avenue with people from all over the Union. One guy I met had 45 autographs on his t-shirt from people from 45 states. He only needed 5 more to make it a day.
The mainstream media has reported the rally as anti-Obama or anti-government, both are partially true, but I believe that pro-Constitution would be much more accurate. Pro-Constitution and polite. This was more than a peaceful demonstration. I never heard so many excuse mes and thankyous in my life, and not a drop of litter to be found.
There was some anger yesterday, there was a lot of frustration, but mostly there was a multitude of Americans determined to have their voices heard. I am talking about people of all colors. I am talking about people with long hair, short hair, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, conservatives, cops, teachers, college students, grandmas, grandpas, great grandmas, moms, dads and kids.
The frustration demonstrated yesterday has been building for longer than nine months. What do the people want? They want the Federal Government to listen to the will of the people. They want the Federal Government to stick to the Constitution. They want the Federal Government to Keep the Czars in Russia.
When I filmed “Border,” I was afraid that the greatest threat to the future of our country was apathy. Those fears were completely swept away by what I experienced yesterday. But the fresh new hope that surged through all of us was tempered by the MSM media reports that we began hearing as soon as we left the Capitol.
I was hit with a nauseating wave of déjà vu. I had a flashback to when I was in Honduras, when a couple hundred Marxist revolutionaries and pro-Zelaya supporters demonstrated and the next day it was on the front page of newspapers around the world. But put one hundred thousand Constitutionalists in the streets of Tegucigalpa and it won’t make U.S. news at eleven.
When we first arrived at yesterday’s demonstration, CNN was reporting that 30,000 people were expected. By the afternoon FOX news was reporting 60,000. The Saturday evening newscasts all said that “thousands” of people had turned out. Later they updated to “tens of thousands.”
At the rally, at noon on Saturday, we began hearing that DC police estimates were 1.2 million. I could not confirm that with any of the DC police officers that I spoke with. However, I did speak with a retired NYPD Sergeant towards the end of the day, he had a significant background in crowd control, including the evacuation of Manhattan on 9/11. This Sergeant put the number between 1.4 and 1.6 million.
The London Daily Mail would later put the number at 2 million. For the better part of two hours we saw Pennsylvania Avenue packed with humanity walking towards the Capitol Building. For the longest time it seemed like an unending river of humanity. Fourteen blocks of streaming individuals!!
I ducked under police tape blocks away from the Capitol Building. Police officers immediately stopped me. I told them that I was press. The officers said that they didn’t care. I was told, “Get back. The venue is full.” They wouldn’t guess at how large the crowds were, but it was clear that they were stunned by the size of the turnout.
Where I stood, thousands of people were being turned back. I had to go around the demonstration to make my way closer to the steps of the Capitol.
I don’t know how many people were there. Maybe satellite photos will later give us an accurate count, but I would estimate that 90 percent of the demonstrators never even saw the event stage. Possibly 50 percent of the crowd never even got close enough to the remote speakers to hear what was being said.
No one cared. They didn’t come to hear the VIP speakers, they came to be with other Americans. They came because this is their house.
I couldn’t help but wonder what President Obama was thinking as he flew over us in Marine One on his way to Minnesota.
As I looked out down from the balcony of a twelfth story Pennsylvania Avenue apartment, our host told me that in all of her decades in DC, she had never seen anything like this.
Either the entire corps of the Mainstream Media are entirely incompetent or they are complicit in propaganda of the greatest proportions. Do not be fooled.
Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was.
Mr. Gibbs, this is not a group. These are the American people, and they came here to remind you that you work for them.
All day long, I saw people pushing strollers. I saw people on crutches and in wheelchairs. But the image that will stick with me the longest was when I saw an elderly woman, possibly near 80 years old, lying in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue. She was seizing very badly. She had walked almost a mile in the DC heat, but her body just couldn’t take it. Her elderly sister looked on as the paramedics worked on her. I don’t know if she made it, but she was a patriot.
I will put her courage and commitment up against the arrogance of the political elite any day.
There is nothing stronger on this planet than the united will of the American people. Yesterday this nation turned a corner. The American people have awakened, and they want their country back.

It can't stop here, though. Fortunately, I have every confidence that it won't. People need to continue to organize and make their voices heard. I know there are those in the White House and Congress that are hoping 'Oh, they've spent their energy, they've had their say, now they'll go away, at least long enough for us to get more 'important work' done.'
Don't give them the chance! Once their programs are enacted, they'll be nigh impossible to remove. Right now, we 'Constitutionalists' have the momentum, but we cannot let it become complacency, because they have the government. Peaceful, thoughtful, intelligent, but above all, visible and noisy opposition will need to continue to grow. If the media continues to ignore it, the only solution is to grow so large as to command attention. At a certain point, this -can't- be ignored. We're almost there, now is the time to push harder, not rest on any laurels.
America has always been defined by the character of her people, and this is what makes her great.
There is nothing stronger on this planet than the united will of the American people. Yesterday this nation turned a corner. The American people have awakened, and they want their country back.
Hallelujah.
Yeah! I wanted to be the first poster! First patriot of the new revolution – Rick Santelli! I can say I was there on 9/12! Awesome event! Took my 12year old daughter! No, we didn't see the stage, we listened to the speakers and talked to people from ohio, texas, new jersey. We got close to the Capital between 12-12:30pm. We sat on the edge of the Capitol Reflecting pool. I hear they started the event early. We surround them! God Bless the USA!
Thomas Jefferson who wrote " Every generation needs a revolution" would be proud.
If the MSM had just the slightest bit of integrity this spontaneous uprising would be embraced by the vast majority of Americans. However, since they choose to portray this unprecendented movement as pro-Republican and anti-Obama too many will fail to see that the people are fed up with the elites of both parties and they simply want the government to follow the Constitution and the rule of law and to get the heck out of our lives.
The Silent Majority has awoken from it's slumber. Good Morning America!
And to think that the lefties are saying all the photos are fake. Too bad for them that they can't deal with the reality that there are people in the country that think differently than they do, and we are numerous. And we still have freedom of speech and we're going to use it. Thanks to everyone who was able to attend and for those who couldn't but were with those that could in spirit.
Robert Gibbs said the White House was unaware of this rally. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee……………………….
Thank you to all of the patriots who were able to attend this rally!!! I wish I could have witnessed it first hand.
I'm proud of each and everyone of you!!!!!
We can only hope that Washington begins to listen. That's right I said Washington. I do not separate the Democrats from the Republicans on this. Both parties have lost thier way. Most of us tend to vote for Republican Candidates but the current crop of professional politicians and staffers have compltetly lost touch with the country. They are in love with power. Power is the coin of the realm. Money equals power so the more money your side gets to spend and control the more power you have. That is the mindset we need to purge from the political process. We can have disagreements on political theory and try different methods to see what works and what does not, but none of this can happen if power is all that anyone is interested in.

"They came because this is their house."
and no one likes cleaning house. it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
god bless us and protect us as we attempt to sweep out the trash.
Hey! Congress, Gibbs, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
The silent majority has awakened and will not soon sleep again.
The House does need cleaning, as does the Senate, as does the Office of the Presidency.
Time to take out the trash and make a clean sweepdown fore and aft.
Go ahead Obama, IGNORE the will of the people…we dare you.
Go ahead, Imperial Congress, IGNORE the will of the people…we'll change you
Go ahead Leftist Big media, IGNORE the facts of the matter…we'll ignore you
Eat your heart out Louie!
absolutely, I'm a life-long Republican that has watched my party wander off the path and get their noses jammed into the hog trough, wallow in the mud and stand by while the psychopathic DemocratSS drive us into Euro-socialism…NOT ANY MORE…
Love it! Although it reminds me of another rally – one that I attended a few years ago and continue to follow when I can't make it – and that is the March For Life. MSM doesn't even cover it, but there are tens of thousands of people attend each year hoping to stem the tide of baby-killing that is going on in our country. Thank the Good Lord for media outlets such as these who actually report on the real news, not just what people want to hear. Keep it up Andrew, and all of the contributing writers!!!
Gibbs is a "cheap pimp" for a corrupt administration…I bet his dog, *life* partner, and parents don't believe a word he says anymore.
very true..If it doesn't fit the radical liberal paradigm "it isn't news"
God bless YOU.
You rule.
Thank you
It's so telling that the left would claim photos of the march are fake.
It's like a little kid who doesn't want to hear about cleaning his room so he puts his fingers in his ears and starts yelling, "I can't hear you I can't har you la la la…."
It's real , my lefty friends.
So are the ACORN tapes.
It's a beautiful day.
I'm so pumped up
WE all need to get off our butts and start demanding accountability from our government…and get rid of all the career politicians!
I seek not for power, but to pull it down. I seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country.
"…They didn’t come to hear the VIP speakers, they came to be with other Americans. They came because this is their house."
This is my exact experience and take on Tea Parties that I've been to in Louisiana. The only time that the crowd was completely silent enough to go along with what was started at the dais was when we recited the Pledge of Allegiance in unison. It was seeing all the others there and not feeling alone yelling at the TV set that was so uplifting.
yeah, the 80 year-old-patriot who fell in the street–a sad and ironic picture of what obamacare will bring.
just said a prayer for that lady…
That's the impression I got from fellow protesters. Sure, Obama got the bulk of the criticism, but there was much "Throw the Bums" out sentiment from the crowd as well as speakers.
There also was criticism of Bush's economic and immigration policies from some marchers I chatted with. Thus, the GOP as well as the Democrats in Congress should worry about their job security over the next year.
On that note, check out this site, GOOOH, which is dedicated to supporting regular Americans to replace incumbents who value power over America's liberty:

There's a new sheriff in town………………………………………………….it's called "The Will of the American People".
Big government better get use to listening to it.
"Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was."
I think Gibbs is a LIAR, just like his boss!!!!
Does make ya feel better, doesn't it?
I do, too.
Yes, we have awoken from the apathy coma. I'm proud to be an American.
All I can say is, thank God (and I'm an Atheist) for the independent press. The irrelevancy of the MSM has been demonstrated clearly. They no longer look out for the people, only their own corporate self interests.
Their strategy will result in their demise (as currently configured)
I can see it already on Countdown to No Ratings with K.O.:
"Another sicking and despicable display of right-wing extremism at it's pinnacle this weekend. Not worshipping Obama is direct violation of our civil liberties and these people need to be locked away."
I raise my middle finger high to all you Bill Maher and Olbermann types.
Want to really "do something"? Become a Republican Party precinct committeeman ("PC"). PCs get to vote for the leadership of the Party and help determine, my majority vote, which candidates get the endorsement of the Party in the Republican primary races. Only takes a few hours of time a month. With half the PC slots in the Party nationwide vacant, and with a fifty-fifty split right now between conservatives and moderate RINOs in the PC ranks, the Party is there for the taking by conservatives/libertarians if we'd all just get off our duffs and get to a meeting of the local GOP and volunteer to become a PC. Want to save your country? Then invigorate the "main enemy" of the Debtocrat/Socialist Party with your presence. Go here and read all three articles. http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com (By the way, half of the Party leadership, the moderates, DON'T WANT YOU TO BECOME A PC, BECAUSE THEY AND THEIR RINO CRONIES WILL GET VOTED OUT OF THE LEADERSHIP — THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BASIC CIVICS.)
This should be everyone's first priority. Blogging and carrying a sign at a Tea Party or attending a town hall is great, but unless we have better leadership and candidates in the main adversary party, the Debtocrats will get returned to power. It's all about the Constitution and all about winning the elections. The best way to restore the Constitution and to have better candidates who respect the Constitution is to join the Republican Party at the grass roots and make it happen. It's a numbers game. The more conservatives we have in the Party in the precinct committeemen ranks, the more likely it will be that we'll get better elected leadership within the Party and in the general elections. Michael Steele was elected not by registered Republicans but by the precinct committeemen in all fifty states.
Also, you can go to http://www.redstate.com to learn more, too. Just type in the words precinct and committeeman into the search pane and hit the search button and links to a lot of good info will be presented too you.
Thank you.
Cold Warrior
I am only one. But I am a conservative Republican precinct committeeman and desperately trying to get other Constitution-loving conservatives and libertarians to do the same.
"Robert Gibbs said the White House was unaware of this rally"
That's what happens when you stick your fingers in your ears and chant lalalalalalalalalala….
Speaking of cleaning, I've seen a few places on the web about how there was so little trash compared to (for example) after the inauguration.
I suppose they think the satellite photos were doctored by the little green men of the Conservative Movement…
"Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was."
Mr. Gibbs, if your or your boss were unaware of the rally, and truly didn't know who the hundreds of thousands of people are that you refer to as a group, the both of you are either too grossly ignorant or too criminally incompetent to be allowed to remain in your positions.
The people of America deserve far better leadership than what you and Obama together can offer.
You both are completely disgraceful.
You actually AREN'T a journalist, btw

Ok so the Obama administration had no idea of this? Am I the only one frightened that they are in charge of defense of the country? MSM should be ashamed of themselves. I stood next to a reporter from the Post when an officer said he figured that there was at least 1 million if not more. Even the homeless and street vendors said it was the most people they ever saw in DC!
Thanks for the information, I have added the site to my favorites. I think it is a truism that though most politicians most likely run for office out of a genuine desire to do good; once they get there, reality, their egos and oftentimes greed take over and their main purpose becomes to get reelected and not to serve their consitutuents. Goooh will be a good start on returning government to the citizens and not the professional politicians.
So far, when the MSM hasn't been ignoring them, they've been depicting them as a bunch of wild-eyed racist fanatics. Sadder even than this is the fact that millions of dittoheads across the country will believe every word they say–and then believe that makes them intellectuals somehow.
Let the games begin……………..
First up: defunding ACORN
Breaking: Senate votes to cut off federal funding for ACORN

Next up, throw out every democrat socialist sack of shyt in 2010. You want change? Kick the donks to the curb and elect unabashed Conservatives; rinos need not apply.
Wow, 70, 000 ignorant idiots show up in Washington. You guys should be so proud. Go to Flickr.com and check out NineTwelvePhotos' to relive the glory.
God bless America. The citizens are taking back their government!
"…Either the entire corps of the Mainstream Media are entirely incompetent or they are complicit in propaganda of the greatest proportions…"
It's the latter.
Is this the hairless sasquatch that's married to the anorexic jugeared dimwit? By the way loser, there were well over 1 million people there, some estimates as high as 2 million. But what do you care, if you were the last obama sycophant you'd still gladly get on all fours and lick his feet like the good little liberal slave that you are.
I'd be willing to bet that for every person that was in D.C. to protest on 9/12, there were at least 25 at home cheering and supporting the movement. That means 40 million people are in it together and I doubt that the Govrnment has seen the end of this Tea Party. This is a stunning display of grass roots protest. Far greater than any in memorable history. It is especially notable as most paid their own way to be there! The liberals could never amass this size of crowd to protest Bush even with pay-for -protest. Say's something about real everyday Americans that makes my heart swell with pride.
I am a conservative democrat and proud of the people that attended the tea party that Gibbs couldn't see or know about. The people will show their united spirit next election. Great reporting.
"Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was."
Boy. I feel really safe now. If the White House wasn't aware of this rally, what does that say about our National Security. What a moron.
To say this is incredibly stupid as everyone knows that is a lie. To pretend that they didn't know makes them look even more stupid.
I like the expressions used here: "Constitutionalists" and "Pro-Constitution." I think they capture what should be the common denominator of this revolution much better than other expressions being used.
Americans on Saturday in fact rallied around the Constitution to show Washington politicians and the rest of the country that we care about our liberty, our economic security, our national security, our system of justice — and, yes, our constitution!
Americans are not stupid. We have been connecting the dots and see an emerging pattern of liberal fascism in this country (and, also, I dare say here, "conservative fascism" in the form of "me-too" welfare statism and corrupt corporate cronyism).
As the trio of bombastic bombardiers — Obama, Pelosi, and Reid — continue dropping wave after wave of incendiary bombs of liberal fascism in the finance, transportation, energy, and health care sectors of the economy, we find ourselves encircled by the red flames of a Dresden-like attack on our unalienable rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.
Americans are finally recognizing that these bombastic bombardiers and their sycophants in the left-leaning media are hell-bent on imposing their unjust system of "social justice" on America with reckless disregard of the adverse consequences for our liberty, economic security, national security, and system of justice. And, like a tag team of used car salesmen, these liberal leaders are creating a false sense of urgency so they can sell us on their fascist programs before any effective sales resistance can be mounted by Conservatives, Libertarians, Independents, Moderates, and — yes — Constitutionalists.
But Americans on Saturday openly pushed back against this loss of liberty.
Americans are witnessing the wreckage caused by the government’s fascist efforts to control every area of our lives: The loss of our home values, foreclosures, bankruptcies, frozen credit lines, the loss of savings for our retirement, the loss of savings for our children’s college education, rising unemployment, exploding deficits, mounting debt, problems at Freddie and Fannie, looming insolvencies in Medicare and Social Security, the duel threat of hyperinflation and higher interest rate to tame it, and, last but not least, our nation’s rapidly declining creditworthiness.
But Americans on Saturday openly pushed back against this loss of economic security.
Americans are just beginning to understand that our nation’s mounting debt and rapidly declining creditworthiness will hand our national security to China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other not so friendly countries when push comes to shove in a future national security crisis. Americans’ confidence in the Administration's ability to protect our national security has been further undermined by Obama’s apology tour, Holder’s siege on the CIA, and the Orwellian language of denial, “Overseas Contingency Operation.”
But Americans on Saturday openly pushed back against this loss of national security.
Americans see the destruction of the American Dream as this country is being molded to conform to the Marxist maxim, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." The top 50% of wage earners pay over 97% of federal income taxes, and — to make matters worse — if this country's collectivist crew of cronies in Congress have their way, the unfairness of this progressive taxation will only get worse as these liberals let Bush's tax cuts expire, impose a surtax on the wealthy, and force business owners to pay for their employees’ health insurance.
But Americans on Saturday openly pushed back against the injustice of this “social justice.”
Yes, Americans are red hot — yes, some of us are mad as hell — and, yes, we are refusing to be herded together and blindly rushed to take a leftist-led, lemming-like leap into the sordid sea of statism.
So this is what Obama really meant when he promised a "transformation" of our country: liberal fascism.
This is un-American.
This is unfair.
This is immoral.
And, yes, this is unconstitutional.
Americans must rally around the Constitution and continue to push back until this march toward collectivism comes to a full stop.
Our future course must be guided by the philosophy of individualism and the principle of individual rights that inspired the Constitution — the theory that individuals are ends-in-themselves; that we have the right to exist for our own sake; that no one has the right to force anyone to live for the sake of others; that we have the right to be left alone to pursue our own ends in life as long as we don’t infringe on the liberty of others to do the same; that the proper role of government is to protect our rights by legislating, adjudicating, and enforcing laws that prohibit other individuals or groups, foreign and domestic — and all levels of government — from initiating force against us.

Sure, the White House didn't know. Pull the other one.
The Secret Service would have know – that is their job! And they do a darned fine job, too.
Remember Baghdad Bob – no, the capital is safe, no Americans here, as the tanks rolled through the streets of Baghdad.

THANK YOU, Chris Bougard. You are a great writer and an astute reporter! — In this article, Chris relates, "Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was." Americans, whether or not your feet were on those streets and your voice and energy and time was part of that event, your blood should be boiling at Gibb's "LET THEM EAT CAKE" attitude in refusing to acknowledge the crowds. Gibb's comments are INITIATED by Obama et al… Gibbs doesn't gaze at the sky and pull something out to say. So,… Obama sez let 'em eat cake huh…. These guys don't know Americans, American History, the American Spirit or even French History. The Let Them Eat Cake attitude, ignoring citizens' protests cost SOME people their HEADS in France. It's said that those who ignore history are bound to repeat it. Well, MOST Americans KNOW history and we are not against repeating it if that's what it takes to save and protect our Constitution and our Freedom. Let those who IGNORE history and fail to recognize citizens' protests, repeat the history THEY deserve. IT'S TIME FOR US TO REPEAT HISTORY, AMERICANS. – - A note to the 80 yr old lady who endured the heat and the march at the Protest/Rally and suffered a seizure – Your courage and determination represent the heart and soul of what our precious early Patriots had, and your experience is a reminder to all of us that Americans are willing to suffer in the FIGHT TO BE FREE. Your love of our country is beautiful. Thank you, dear lady.
The estimates from the Administration said that folks from 57 states showed up. Most were the million people that jobs were saved due to the stimulus package. These folks showed up in support of the administration, but the MSM focused on the few neocons.

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS.
Such a shame Booth sullied that term, but it stands for a principle both valiant and much-appreciated right about now.
Take heed, Obama. Take heed, Congress.
Well said.
My wife and I attended the gathering in D.C. on Saturday September 12, 2009. I took pix of American Indians, American black folks, white folks, Chinese folks, Korean folks. Every ethic group under the sun was represented. It was not about politics. It was not about "the numbers." It was about ideology. It was about attitudes, opinions, and beliefs. It was a peaceful gathering of people who would not have otherwise ever had a chance of meeting. Every one was there on their own nickel. My wife and I drove from northwest Alabama to be there. We don't ordinarily participate in such events. It was money and time well-spent. My wife and I were not paid by any person or organization for our "activism" on September 12th 2009.
Yes, you are correct about the idiots in Washington: Congress is back in session, the Obama administration is in full peacock mode. However, I believe you've included members of ACORN and the MSM in your 69,999 count.
Not sure if you're in Washington, but if we add you, we get right up to 70,000. Well done!

I went to the event in DC with several buses of people who signed up with http://www.morristownteaparty.org, from New Jersey. When I got there, it was PACKED. None of us were paid; we had to pay our own freight, bring our own lunch, make our own signs. It was very peaceful, everyone was cordial, and I ran into people from all over the country. No one cared about race, or gender, or all the other identity politics or "diversity" crap. We were diverse without having to force it, or trumpet it. It was momentous.
Ahahahahaha. Leftist big media. What, like Fox?
Oh, how the pendulum swings back and forth, back and forth. "Left-wing this" and "right-wing that"…two sides of the same worn-out coin.
It amazes me how people never seem to tire of going in circles. Around and around we go, taking turns playing the same part….so convinced are we that we are somehow different than our counterparts, whose actions we oppose yet are relatively comparable to our own, that we remain oblivious to the unchanging scenery.
Until we no longer need "them" in order to define "us," none of our problems will ever be solved. Oh wait, silly me…I almost forgot that we're little more than monkeys with a self-inflated sense of self and less hair (well, at least some of us have less hair).

If you don't think there's a difference between the two party's read Mark Levin's book Liberty & Tyranny. If that doesn't clear things up get back down on all fours and crawl back to the democrat party; thinking for yourself isn't for everyone as democrats have shown us.

Oh, brother. Look at the pics of the Obama inauguration, and then look at the sad photoshopped pics of the 9/12 tea party. Protest all you want, it's your right. Carry signs that say 'IM UNARMED – THIS TIME'. I actually liked the two part sign that said 'What's the difference between the Clevleand Zoo and the White House?' The second sign said 'The Zoo has an African Lion, and the White House has a Lyin' African.'
That at least was clever, even if it was unintentional.
You lost the election. Come take it back in 2010 if you can. But try to bring a candidate and a plan, ' kay?
I was there. It was the greatest event that I have ever attended. I saw people from every state. A sea of people, carrying signs, protesting a government that is not listening to us. I can't walk very well and it took me an hour to get from the History Museum to the West lawn of the Capitol Building, walking, resting and walking until I got there. I would have loved to march with my group down Pennsylvania Avenue but I knew that I would never make it. I would have loved to have followed the drum and fife dressed in colonial costumes and marched to their beat! The important thing is that I WAS THERE! The genie is out of the bottle now. No one can put it back in. Saturday, more than ever, I was proud to be an American!
All those who are complaining about the media cover-up: STOP IT! Please!
Don't you understand? What is happening today would very likely not be happening if the media were doing their job. Why? Because the American people are finally seeing, in unmistakeable terms, that it's not just the politicians, but the entire power elite–the "Establishment"–that is lying to them, stealing from them, and f'ing their daughters.
Everyone's always known that our politics are a mess and that the Federal government has been, and is, screwing them over big time. But people have preferred to pass the buck, telling themselves there's nothing they can do about it because that's just the way things work…and besides, if there were really anything seriously wrong, they'd know, because the press would tell them. The press, after all, is filled with really smart people who understand all that Constitution stuff and are looking out for our best interests. And academia, too. Why, those people have pieces of paper that somebody gave them that mean…well, something.
But now they're finding out that they have no friends out there. The elite interests are jealous of their power–since in America, despite all the efforts to dethrone them, it is still, under the Constitution, the will of the people that moves things–and they have been scheming and plotting against the people for decades. For those citizens who have been asleep all this time, this all coming as a shock and ringing in their ears like a fire alarm, while for those who have been on the fence, preferring time after time to give their tormentors the benefit of the doubt, the pretense can no longer be maintained. As the man said: the genie is now out of the bottle…and the only thing that could possibly put it back in would be a sudden return to the status quo ante, which would allow those who prefer to live asleep to return to their slumbers.
So nobody touch nothin', dammit! We're doing fine. Let this play out just as it is.
Thomas Jefferson, who wrote " Every generation needs a revolution" would be proud. As for the MSM , Jefferson , who also wrote "Educate and inform the whole mass of people…They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." , would be anything but proud.
This is not a signficant representation of the American People. This is a vocal minority.
"Either the entire corps of the Mainstream Media are entirely incompetent or they are complicit in propaganda of the greatest proportions. Do not be fooled."
That **is** a rhetorical question isn't it?
I remember some years ago my town had a 2nd Amendment rally. Had to have been 7,000-10,000 people – and not even a word in our newspaper. But get 20 people demonsdtrating against the Iraq war downtown and it's front page news.
Sure didn't look like 75,000 people to me.
Yeah…as I recall it didn't end too well for the revolutionaries in Les Mis…
Ooh, I got chills! I love many of the songs in that opera, and that is definitely one of them.
Hey, I think I ran into some of your people there. You from Jersey? What exit? LOL! I came from CA though. It was a wonderful time. Exactly as many of you described – peaceful, cordial, but full of passion. My favorite chants: "Can you hear us now?" and "Read that Wall!" (as we passed by the narcissitic Newseum). Favorite sign: The one with George Washington saying "WTF?"
I'm ready for another one already!
Not photoshopped. Prove it. I was there and saw the crowds. Haven't you heard – more showed up at Freedom Plaza than the permits allowed and so the March started way earlier than it was supposed to. Metro trains packed, so packed, my small group had to catch a cab instead. I don't know the numbers, but they were more than "thousands" although maybe not near a million.
Quit telling us "we" lost. Not just the Right, we all lost. If you let them, they will come for all of us, including you, you useful idiot. Don't ever, ever underestimate your opponent. EVER. Your over-confidence is your weakness. You guys thought you had a mandate. Well, you didn't. We WILL take it back in 2010 and 2012. You have woken the sleeping giant and that giant is PISSED.
Prove it, CD. Prove it. We are the SILENT MAJORITY. Always have been, but no longer.
The Sleeping Giant has been awakened. You guys keep telling yourself different b/c you are afraid. You should be. "Emperor, we come for you!" "Long live the fighters!"
I know how CNN came up with a figure of 10,000 people at the march.I witnessed their CNN reporter digging up the poop in the Port-a-potty area.YES there was roughly 10,000 of us waiting in line to use them.Might I suggest that CNN send reporters that report the news not just digging through the poop.OH but I guess that is all they know with all the poop that the politicians are dishing out these days.
P.S. If you would like you can replace poop with the S word you know the one.
Oh wait, silly me…I almost forgot that we are little more than monkeys with an inflated sense of self and less hair (well, at least some of us have less hair).

The left, the so-called 'president', and the lowlife media (certainly they are not 'mainstream') ignore this revolution at their own peril. They can't stop it from happening….like all libtards, they have to feel good about themselves or they simply can't handle life. So the leftists pretend that it isn't happening. So when the GOP sweeps in 2010 and 2012, the leftists and their black messiah will be scratching their heads saying, "But we called them "racists" and everything! What happened?"
Way to go, Chris! You have a great career ahead of you as an actual reporter…..a very rare breed, in today's world.

MSM = Keeping America ignorant and unaware. It's time Patriots to SHUT THEM DOWN.
Boycott/Cancel/March On ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, ASSOC. PRESS, LA TIMES, WASH. POST.
Don't watch them. Boycott their Advertisers like they are doing to Glenn Beck. Challenge them.
PATRIOTS know the truth when they here it. And we will decide.
According to Press Sec. Gibbs, "The President was unaware of a rally."
REALLY !!!
1.5 Million citizens on his doorstep and he didn't know it?
And he's the one to find the terrorist who are trying to kill us?
GET MAD AMERICA.
FIGHT FOR YOUR COUNTRY or LOSE IT.
Joe Wilson – Needs to auction his censure from Nancy Pelosi!
Oh hell CD! Do better than regurgitate Axelrod talking points, boring man.
You know why that march was so clean and tidy? Because that’s the group of people that actually work and pay the taxes. The real power in the Tea Party movement is the mighty dollar and if we want to change the MSM boycott their advertisers, we’ll have boardrooms across America shaking in their boots, and subsequently Washington politicians.
These were exactly my thoughts when I heard Gibbs say that. Disgraceful is putting it nicely.
Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul…
Here! Here!
How can Gibbs say the "White House" didn't know anything about the rally or the 'group'" unless he gets all his updates from the main stream media? Apparently, they didn't know anything about it either and continuted not to know for a few days.
And, don't you think it was suspicous that Obama was not in D. C. at the time? Although, this meeting he attended might have been arranged way in advance, I don't know, it just seems a bit convenient that he was not in town. Hmmm…does the Pres. have avoidance issues?
Actually, the photos were of the Million Man March, as proved by a missing museum that was built in the ensuing years. Even Malkin had to admit this was phony.
I've seen a detailed analysis of the number at the march that comes to the conclusion that there were from 300,000 to 500,000 at the march. I'm not sure that the 1,000,000 number is supportable.
Our first duty is to the truth. I would be interested in supportable documentation and criticism of the details and methods at:
http://www.transterrestrial.com/?p=21884
This article seems to give the most credible and supportable estimates that I've seen.
Thanks
I can say without a doubt that the photos above are not fake. I'm the guy holding the "Give me Liberty NOT Debt" sign. Standing on that rooftop looking down over all the people on the street was amazing. It was truly a "sea of humanity". Special thanks to Chris (the author of this article) for trying to get the truth out.
Even though I could not be there( spent the weekend caring for my home-bound 89-year old Mother; sharp mind, physically feeble though) I was with you in spirit and kept you in my prayers. Many thanks to all you patriots over 1 million strong! Maybe I will be with you for the next one!
Lets take back our country in 2010! Proud to be from the home of Joe Wilson and Jim DeMint!
I am currently listening to Rush. Someone, didn't catch name, asked Charlie Gibson from ABC news what he thought of the ACORN problem. His response was that he didn't know anything about it. WHAT???? Are you kidding me????
This is why we need to be watch the mainstream media. They are out of control, out of touch, and out of their minds.
Why was my comment taken down?
Hey MSM…
Please! Keep your eyes closed and your ears covered.
Please! Confirm for us that you hold us in disdain and have no respect for us.
Please! Continue to lie to us and distort the truth to fit your personal leanings.
Please! Continue to tell us we don't count. That we aren't really there. That we only number in the hundreds.
And PLEASE…when your newspaper or your TV news station goes belly-up because you no longer have an audience, PLEASE do not ask us to forgive you. Do not tell us you will change your ways and be honest in your reporting. You are a traitor…and you will be treated like a traitor.
No "lefty" has said that ALL the photos are fake. Some of the photos were fake and a number of right-wing websites and bloggers have pulled those photos
You ultra-rightists are not as numerous as you think you are. Sure, 62% of the country consider themselves conservative, but conservative is not the same as nutter right-wing.
I am so proud of everyone who went to the tea parties. I was unable to go but GOD willing, I will be at the next one. This is a great start; but we need to get GOD back into all of our lives. The liberals have taken every right away from Christians. Obama would not recognize Christians day of Prayer, but honored the gay/lesbin week and now I read that the muslims will be meeting at the capital for one entire week. They say their intention is to convert American to Islam. I believe this is all part of the END TIMES that are referred to in many Prophecy Books of THE HOLY BIBLE. Most all Americans are going on their merry way and do not realize or even know what is taking place right under their eyes. I PRAY that there will be a REVIVAL like no other in America and that GOD's people will wake up from this nightmare and show Boldness and stand up for our SAVIOR and LORD JESUS.
To Iphillips…Boy, you got that right. The enemy will be on the doorsteps of the capital and they will not know it, just like the goons in Iraq did not know when our GREAT, WONDERFUL, PROUD MARINES, and all SOLDIERS were sitting on their doorsteps.
Obama DOES hear us now. He's sweating in a teleprompter speech to the union that already got stimulated by bail-out money and who will keep their union private health insurance.
"Bagdad Bob" claimed there were no American troops in Bagdad…. while our tanks and troops rolled through the streets.
"Bagdad Bob Gibbs" said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was."
I took the day off work, booked a flight and hotel room, navigated the DC subway system, and ended 9/12 with blisters on my feet. No one paid me, no one handed me a pre-printed protest sign, no one recruited me to join their "organization", and no one indoctrinated me. I am 47 and have never even considered "demonstrating". I attended the event because it mattered to me. I wanted to show support for our Constitution and the institutions that made this country great, many of which are now under assault by the very politicians who swore to "preserve and protect".
I hope that those who could not attend the DC rally can find at least a fraction of the energy and pride I felt on 9/12. The people you see in those photos and video clips are good, honest people who love and care enough for their country to fight to save it. They are working to support their families, to pay their taxes, to remain productive. If only Washington and the mainstream media understood what that means.
And as for the MSM, they are a dying element. They are no longer trusted by most Americans, and are growing increasingly irrelevant. Creating and distorting news for ratings, protecting their favorite politicians, basking in the glow of some perceived importance they lost long ago.
The American reality is not the latest network or newspaper opinion piece (disguised as journalism). But it is among the people who take the time to see it for themselves. Look people, the facts are out there. See it for yourselves

Scared, are you?
Frightened you should be…
I'd get in on that! To eBay!
Pal, you will never know how much I appreciate what you did…
For everyone there, twenty couldn't go…you represented me…
But I'll be at the voting booth…
okay Yoda.
When my group from FL left our hotel and arrived down on the dimly lit Metro platform early that morning none of us had any idea what lay before us.
After a pensive five or six minute wait, our train came blasting into the station.
Oh, what a sight.
Spontaneously, an uncontrollable roar raced out our bodies.
Red, White & Blue, in every Car after Car after Car after Car, each one stuffed to the gills, plastered limbs, shirts and signs stuck to nearly every square inch of the passenger windows.
The train’s metal wheels screeched and groaned under the enormous load as it shuttered to a stop. Thick clouds of acrid gray smoke billowed out from under the train and surrounded us. The sight was surreal, reminiscent in a much more caustic and acrid way of an earlier steam driven era.
I knew the new friend I had made on my trip up from Florida was a retired Fire Chief and he looked rather worried. Finding no open flames anywhere but still somewhat concerned by the still visible plumes of smoke rising from under the train’s carriages we decided to press on and go for it.
As our intrepid group moved toward the very same doors that the existing passengers were unintentionally spilling out of, it seemed as if everyone sort of came together and sucked in their guts and six of us found ourselves standing in what was about a 36” by 18” space pressed tightly to the doorway.
Everyone tried not to breath; moving or shifting even the slightest was practically out of the question and the acrid smelling smoke had only slightly diminished in our nostrils.
Never would I of conceived I would find myself in this sort of situation but as I caught a glimpse of my new friends face I realized that we were both broadly smiling.
This was a victory, one of may still needed but one none the less
When we got back on the surface, oh what a sight, I guessed 1.5 million on the spot as the annual air show I go to draws just over 500K and this was at least three times bigger then that. All of Pennsylvania Ave packed from the WH to the Cap spilling out around the side of the Cap, plus heavy crowds all the way down the Mall to the Wash Mon.
There was no trouble of any kind.
Policemen smiled when we thanked them for their service.
Signs, signs and more signs – clever and cleverer and downright awesome!
Brevity is the soul of wit and America is full of boundless talent.
I saw a young oriental girl sitting on her adopted moms shoulders with her very own handmade sign she was waving. “I Thought I Had Escaped Communism.”
Wow, and so many, many more right on target.
Now for the media coverage. I saw one Fox Sat truck for the remote w/Glenn and two seemingly abandoned CNN buses – the first light blue one promoting some sort of an energy tax for prosperity tour! "Promoting Cap & Tax" Wow! NOTHING ELSE – NOTHING. I guess the local media had a fender bender on the freeway to cover. I've seen 3 media vans outside a regional dog show before but nothing for 2 million people swarming the down town of our nations capital! This runs DEEP, words fail here. . . Even some of the Capital web cams were posted as Temp Out of Order during the rally.
Busy picking apples from the barrel?
I couldn't care a dump what you and the Left think. The people that needed the impression work in that building with the dome…and they got the message whether the phone rang or not.
Watch ACORN's nuts burn in the fire…we are. In fact, I brought marshmallows…

Are you still around? You do know ACORN won't be able to pay you anymore, right?
I was so proud to be there…….wonderful patriotic people from all over America. I have attended college football games with attendance of over 100,000 (UT VOLS) …..I attended the Super Bowl in Atlanta…..This was by far the largest group of people I have ever seen.
The police were wonderful. They told us that they really didn't need to be there…they could have stayed at home. The Capital Police said we had the funniest and best signs they had ever seen. I was there representing at least 50 friends and family who couldn't attend. This was a great day for America!
Our President did what he always does, ie., turns tail and leaves the city.

We have to do what ever it takes to preserve our Constitution, get rid of the senitors, and congressmen, that have been living the easy life while in Washington….They have been a sleep on the job, they are letting our freedom slip away, votre them out……………Thank you for hearing what I have to say, it is from the heart……Rip
Thank you for attending the protest. Your photo is awesome! As one of the 912 March organizers, I totally agree with you that people were not there for the VIPs and speakers. They were there to express their opposition to out of control government and their support of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets. As I looked out from the stage area to the incredibly large crowd, I knew that so many of them could not hear and yet they stayed and stayed until the end of the demonstration. It is my understanding that people were having their own mini tea parties within the large crowd.
Thank you for being there as we stood shoulder to shoulder in support of our constitution. Thank you to everyone who attended. You, each and everyone of you, are the heart and soul of the Tea Party Movement.

prove it? that's a little difficult lady. any proof I'd hope to offer would be disputed. There aren't many facts these days – such as proof of birth- that are simply taken as fact. People accept the facts that comfort them and fit into the world view they were raised with. So I'll skip your invitation to waste my time.
so rather than prove my point I'll just argue it. Why I think all those angry people in DC this weekend are of questionable significance? Well, politically speaking, to make a difference you need to elect some one. Any group – even an angry mob – needs to have leaders in order to effect change.
And WHO ARE your leaders really? These drug addict celebrities like Limbaugh and Beck? The undisciplined laut Joe Wilson? The ignorant quitter Sarah Palin? THIS is YOUR LEADERSHIP?
It seems to me that this angry mob is unified by a different leader: the African with a Muslim name.
Maybe he should be called your anti-leader. But this one man is what really motivates this unruly mass you wish to call a "revolution".

Leaders of both major parties have become masterful at preserving the status quo by eagerly cultivating the arts of dodge, deflect, distract, and dismiss. In my humble observation, much of the contrived partisan banter that gets a pass these days and is considered to be serious discussion of creative policy solutions, is anything but. May we all do much better to elevate the level of our discourse. It also appears helpful if many would avoid looking outside externally to some charismatic leader exclusively for inspiration. This dependency always falls short and is never enough. Potential cults of personality can cloud issues and just enable more manipulating rhetoric and emotional division. Style alone must never trump substance.
