Tea Party, Christian Trasher John Fugelsang: Take the Poll!

by Hollywoodland

Remember that comedian who made the mistake of calling our own Dana Loesch “sugar” on the Joyless Behar Show, you remember — the guy who’s obviously his own biggest fan, the guy who personifies the insufferably “cute” comedic spawn that would result should the Catskills and Lake Tahoe ever find a way to have sex…?

Please read his latest musings and then take The John Fugelsgang poll!

Reader Poll: Who’s the Worst Violator of the ‘New Tone’? Stephen Colbert or Congressman Cohen?

by Hollywoodland

UPDATE: Welcome to all the readers sent here by our left-wing friends over at Mediaite.

There’s a terrific debate going on in this earlier post defending Democratic Congressman Cohen’s right to call us Republicans Nazis without a bunch of media Speech Policers publicly shaming him into shutting up. It’s fine to criticize his hypocrisy and argue that he’s wrong on the facts, but to criticize his speech… That’s something else entirely.

So while that debate’s rocking and rolling, let’s move part of the discussion back onto the grounds of hypocrisy. While we’re being told the use of the word “crosshairs” is wrong, the term “job-killing” is verboten, and Nazi references unacceptable, we’re currently left wondering if an exception we’re unaware of has been granted to Stephen Colbert.

Unless we missed it, there was no media criticism or Jon Stewart humiliation-logues after Mr. Colbert launched this profane, insulting and objectively non-New Tonish attack on Governor Sarah Palin:

Rockers For Stalinism & Segregation!

by Humberto Fontova

At 58 Chrissie Hynde doesn’t feel up to the rigors of pregnancy and parturition. But hey, it’s the thought that counts. “This is for the baby we’ll never have,” recently proclaimed Hynde’s new bandmate/inamorato, JP Jones.

pretend1_1411057c

His “this” refers to the couple’s new song “Fidelity.” The song and title, they’re proud to announce, bubbled into the puppy-lovers’ consciousness during a recent pilgrimage to Stalinist Cuba, where the cheeky free-spirits and human-rights champions “saw pictures of Fidel Castro everywhere!”

Imagine that!

“I found my perfect lover, but he’s only half my age, “sings Hynde about JP Jones in another recent recording.  (Weren’t Liz Taylor and even Madonna less exhibitionist in these matters?) (more…)

James Cameron Calls Glenn Beck Out: Let’s Debate You ‘F—ing A–hole’

by John Nolte

ff_avatar_cameron1_f

UPDATE: Note the environment Cameron’s in when he’s lashed out at conservative “Avatar” critics:

  • According to the Hollywood Reporter Cameron called Beck a f–king a–hole “surrounded by journalists inside a West Hollywood hillside mansion.”
  • Last month Cameron took on his right-wing critics in a Hollywood Cafe while being interviewed by an L.A. Times reporter.
  • In January the Malibu Mansion Dweller gave us hell from the Arclight Theatre at a screening for Hollywood Insiders.

Interesting. And with that I end the update.

Uh, oh, James Cameron’s angry and you know how James gets when he’s angry… Stupid:

“Glenn Beck is a f—ing a–hole,” he said, according to The Associated Press. “I’ve met him. He called me the Antichrist, and not about ‘Avatar.’ He hadn’t even seen ‘Avatar’ yet. I don’t know if he has seen it.” …

“I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads,” Cameron said. “Anybody that is a global-warming denier at this point in time has got their head so deeply up their a–, I’m not sure they could hear me.”

Cameron said conservative criticism of the environmental message of “Avatar” aren’t necessarily attacks. “They’re just people ranting away, lost in their little bubbles of reality, steeped in their own hatred, their own fear and hatred,” he said. “That’s where it all comes from. Let’s just call it out. Let’s have a public discussion. That’s what movies are supposed to do, you know. You can have a mindless entertainment film that doesn’t affect anybody. I wasn’t interested in that.”

My first question for Mr. Global Warming would be to ask why a mansion-dweller so concerned with the welfare of the planet would initially release ”Avatar” on DVD and Blu-ray with no extras whatsoever. (more…)

PEOPLE’S POLL: Did Howard Zinn Write ‘Good Will Hunting’? *UPDATE FROM BREITBART*

by Big Hollywood

Inspired by Howard Zinn’s movement to hear the people’s version of history, Big Hollywood now asks the the people to challenge the powerful (Damon, WGA) and finally have their voices heard over the ongoing controversy involving the true authorship of the Oscar-winning film that launched Matt Damon to fame and fortune.

For years, rumors have swirled that Matt Damon and his co-writer Ben Affleck received more than just advice and “notes” from Kevin Smith and/or Oscar-winning screenwriter William Goldman, but did you know Damon grew up next door to Zinn – the same Zinn mentioned in the film?

So connect the “Good Will Hunting” dots and tell us how you like them apples…

UPDATE From Andrew Breitbart:

I liked ‘Gone Baby Gone’ a lot. Affleck comes across as a lovable Marxist. Same with this Chris Moore guy, who I interviewed at the UCLA ‘People Speak’ event. As far as I can tell a truly likable bloke. He was very forthright that he’s not the most informed guy in the world. He seemed like a smart-ish guy, though. Wish he’d think through these issues. I’d love to have a guy like him on the sane side. (more…)

Reader Poll: Vote on the ‘Avatar’ Trailer

by Big Hollywood

Hard to argue the “Avatar” trailer didn’t disappoint when the film’s star is forced to do this kind of damage control:

It’s interesting that [Cameron] released that trailer and then the next day goes and shows it on IMAX,” Worthington said of the 16-minute preview released on August 21st in IMAX theaters. “One extreme to the other. We get the criticism, and then we get the rave reviews of what it really looks like in its own formula. That’s obviously going to get people to think and go, ‘Well, damn right. I’m going to go see this at the cinema.’ Jim has always said to me he wants to bring people back to the movies. And he’s a smart enough man to be tactical.

Worthington added that he has read lots of comments about the trailer and understands the disappointment. “It’s got a hell of a lot of hype,” he said. “I read all what was said yesterday about the trailer. I can see their point. But, as I said, it wasn’t meant to be built for an Apple Mac. It’s built for IMAX. It’s built for 3-D.

Now that we’ve all had time to view the trailer and mull the reaction, it’s poll time: (more…)
