The idea; what if the founding fathers rose from the dead only to see how badly we’ve screwed things up? What you now see is the fruit of hard working professionals as well as the inability to pay our rap-video sirens in anything more than sandwiches.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi has had enough of Stephen Colbert’s political sheninagans.

Not really. The former Speaker of the House has unleashed a new faux political ad chastising the Comedy Central comic for his faux political ads. Their combined purpose? To squash the GOP’s Super PAC ads, of course, before they can take aim at President Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Obama’s recent flip-flop on using those very same Super PAC ads goes unmentioned in Pelosi’s new video:

In a new TV ad, Nancy Pelosi takes aim at Colbert’s Super PAC, suggesting that their former friendship (note picture of her signing his wrist cast) has been ruined by the mock-conservative pundit’s refusal to disclose the complete sources of his funding….

House Minority Leader Pelosi, who maintains an admirable poker-face throughout, is in league with Colbert’s not-so-stealth campaign to expose the abuses of PACs, as well as a supporter of the Disclose Act, a bill that’s been introduced to, as Pelosi says in this ad, expose the sources of “secret money from special interests.

Rather than trying to spoof, mock or even gently tease President Barack Obama–the man who actually holds the highest office in the land–the paper is targeting the administration’s out-of-power critics.

The Onion’s latest Obama humor article taunts those who note how a leader who rails against the rich routinely enjoys the perks that come with his wealth, power and status:

Obama Criticized For Living In Lavish Mansion While Most Americans Struggle To Make Ends Meet

WASHINGTON—Over the past three years, as the sluggish economy has forced many Americans to tighten their belts, President Obama has reportedly enjoyed a lavish personal lifestyle, residing with his family in a 132-room house staffed by a 24-hour security detail, five full-time chefs, and a live-in maid service.

In recent weeks, many of the president’s critics have seized upon the issue, arguing that anyone who sleeps in a sprawling six-level neoclassical mansion covering 18 acres of Washington, D.C.’s most valuable real estate is clearly out of touch with the lives of ordinary citizens.

You see, those silly Obama critics will attack poor Barack on just about any charge. So we should simply ignore them, right?

It’s a classic case of misdirection, a comedic attempt to distract voters from Obama’s lifestyle, including lavish Halloween parties thrown by Hollywood elite and taking money-sucking vacations on our dime.

A comedy institution unafraid of attacking those who share its ideology would have a field day with Obama’s actions. Instead, the folks at The Onion can only see fit to mock the administration’s critics for daring to point out the awkward gap between the president’s rhetoric and his selfish reality.

Left-wing operatives, like those who run Politico, are intentionally attempting to create their own reality. In the same way the left turned “30 Rock,” a show that ranked 106 in the ratings last season, into some sort of cultural phenom, the idea here is to push the political and social values of something no one watches into our country’s cultural and media narrative as though it’s something it’s not — popular.

Politico loves Stephen Colbert because Stephen Colbert loves Barack Obama and is waging war against the Right and free speech. America, however, is, to be kind, indifferent to Colbert. 1.44 million viewers and only half that among the 18-49 group, does not make you King of anything.

But Colbert knows how to play the game and understands that if he wants these kinds of hollow accolades and the opportunity to push his left-wing agenda and to have history revised in his favor, he must appeal to the right people, and the right people are not THE people; the right people are the left-wing elites who infest our corrupt media.

In the face of ratings dwarfed by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, with ratings lower than those of most every primetime show on Fox News; lower than those of “Pawn Stars,” “WWE Wrestling,” reruns of “The Family Guy,” and “Hoarders,” here is your corrupt and wildly out of touch media at work:

Colbert now stands alone as the 2012 election’s must-watch court jester. And watching they are — and the comparisons with Stewart are inevitable.

“The satire is fantastic and very unambiguous,” said Sirius XM’s Julie Mason. “I am starting to get alarmed by how many people think Jon Stewart is a newsman. He is a nonfiction entertainer. I do love Colbert more than Jon Stewart.”

Erin McPike, a political reporter for RealClearPolitics, said, “I can’t think of another comedian who has the pulse of politics quite like Colbert. It does look like Stewart has become Colbert’s sidekick — sort of a role reversal from how things used to be, which makes it funnier in my opinion.”

“I’d say Colbert is definitely the edgier of the pair these days,” said The Atlantic’s Garance Franke-Ruta.

Politico actually writes that Colbert is the 2012 election cycle’s “must-watch.” And yet the propagandist behind this piece, Patrick Gavin, never bothers to mention that no one watches him. Hilariously, Gavin reports that Colbert’s ratings are “steady.”

This is worse than being bubbled, though, this is all about a political agenda. Even MSNBC’s Chuck Todd has stated openly that Colbert is all about taking down conservatives (a fact Gavin omits when describing Todd’s concerns), but what Obama’s MSM Palace Guards really like is Colbert’s ferocious, fascistic attacks on unlimited political speech.

Super PACs aren’t just the enemy of whomever they’re targeting in the political world, super PACs are the MSM’s number-one rival for the relaying of information to the masses. In order for the media to control the narrative they must have the airwaves and cable channels all to themselves.

The irony here is that there is no bigger group of super PACs in this country than Colbert’s own Comedy Central and the mainstream media. Each is backed by gajillionaires and are all part of a multi-national corporation. Oh, and they all have left-wing political agendas. So of course Colbert and his trained MSM seals want unlimited political speech in the form of super PACs toxified and eliminated, for there’s nothing that threatens the left more than free and open debate.

Controlling the narrative is how you elect Democrats and that’s where the MSM’s clown-monkey Stephen Colbert found his free speech-stifling niche.

No one watches Colbert, but he’s not looking for an audience, he’s looking for accolades from the elite and the influence opportunities they offer him to push the country towards undermining free speech and getting Barack Obama reelected.

What Colbert is doing to kill free speech is a massive con. The only bigger con is the one currently in play by the MSM to pretend that Colbert has some sort of populist appeal.

But the numbers don’t lie, and Colbert’s real appeal (outside of the predominantly white and leftist Politico newsroom) is statistically something romantically close to ZERO. He’s also the first so-called satirist I’ve ever come across who wants to limit free speech.

Well, other than his mentor Jon Stewart.

Lenny Bruce would be so proud.

American culture allows comedians of color to say things white comedians can’t.

That helped propel Richard Pryor into the comedy stratosphere and made Chris Rock one of the most incisive commentators on modern living during the early 2000s.

Enter “Key & Peele,” the new Comedy Central series debuting at 10:30 p.m. EST tonight. Biracial comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele share their mixed race ancestry in the show’s opening monologue, the kind of refreshing banter that’s immediately open and funny. The exchange doesn’t feel cobbled together by a team of writers trying way too hard to be casual.

It’s one of the best features of the new show, a program which proves both Key and Peele belong in the sketch comedy trenches – each already paid their dues on both “MADtv” and the short-lived “Chocolate News.” They’re naturals on screen, relaxed and compelling even when they’re just swapping stories.

“On a daily basis we have to adjust our blackness,” Key says before Peele finishes, “to terrify white people.”

Normally, the pair “sound whiter than Mitt Romney in a snow storm,” Peele adds.

The premiere episode mixes the kind of material you might find on any other sketch show with bits given an edge by their heritage. That edge vanishes when the duo take on the first black president.

The sharpest sketches come first, a double dose of laughs that prod our expectations on race and the culture at large. The opening finds Key on the street talking about tickets to an upcoming symphony on his cell phone. When another black man (Peele) walks past, Key transforms the conversation to sound tougher, more stereotypically “gangsta.”

The next bit finds the show’s stars playing henpecked husbands commiserating about their impossible wives. Each is panicked at the thought of his wife hearing them use the dreaded “B” word to describe them, so they end up hiding in some pretty odd places for safety’s sake. It’s two grown men trying to beat their chests while suffocating in domestic “bliss.” Even the camera angles deployed during the sketch reveal a sharp wit.

Other bits aren’t as incisive, including a series of prison videos featuring Lil Wayne. A fake ad for Ancestry.com has one joke – many American blacks are direct descendents of Thomas Jefferson – but unlike “Saturday Night Live” the sketch knows it should end before wearing out its welcome.

“In Living Color,” the most famous sketch show featuring a predominantly black cast, relied heavily on excessive mugging and recurring characters to provoke laughter. The tone here is smaller, more subtle, and the show’s stars appear capable of using nuance rather than exclamation points.

What a shame, then, that the first “Key & Peele” episode wraps with the duo’s “Obama Translator” sketch, which leaked online weeks prior to the show’s debut. It’s nothing more than a full-throttled defense of the president rather than an attempt to mock the powerful, the supposed mantra maintained by comedians prior to Jan. 20, 2009.

“Key & Peele” looks like it will keep its focus on straightforward comedy with an occasional shout out to the first black president. That makes it a snug fit with Comedy Central’s liberal-leaning lineup, but conservatives will still find some solid laughs here.

Even people who recoil at “Saturday Night Live’s” inability to hit the Left as hard as the Right will admit the show’s sketches look great.

Terrific makeup. Top-flight impersonations. Impressive production values.

Actor Justin Long proves in his latest video that’s he’s not ready for prime time, “SNL” style.

Long is partnering with far-left MoveOn.org to play up the already discredited meme that former Gov. Mitt Romney likes to fire people. “SNL” beat Long to the punch, but the “Live Free or Die Hard” star doesn’t want to let it go.

The video doesn’t offer a single solid laugh, and the tax return gag is instantly moldy since Romney recently released them. Perhaps Long and his celebrity pals can show us their tax returns and compare how much they give to charity as opposed to Romney. It’s likely they’ll eclipse the cash doled out by President Obama, but that’s a pretty low ceiling.

The upcoming Comedy Central series “Key & Peele” got some viral video love earlier this month with a sketch reminding us just how cool, tough and awesome President Obama is.

Just ignore those pesky economic statistics, the flotilla of broken campaign promises and the roiling state of the world. Last night, the show’s co-hosts took to Twitter to ramp up their Obama defense during the State of the Union speech.

Caution: the language is pretty salty, although, to be fair, some of the Tweets are funny. Here’s just a short sample of what the pair fired off last night during Obama’s speech:

The new series features two comedians of color (both Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are biracial) in a comedy genre with a dearth of diversity – “In Living Color” being a bold exception. So far, they’re using their unique comedy pulpit to promote Obama, not deconstruct him as their fellow comics have done to other leaders for generations.

“Key & Peele” debuts on Comedy Central Jan. 31.

Sarah Silverman, who helped Barack Obama campaign for the Jewish vote in 2008, has changed her Twitter location to “Palestinian territories,” in a possible attempt to reach out across the Jewish-Arab divide–or, just as likely, in an effort to tweak pro-Israel sensibilities.

Silverman certainly catches her share of flak from the anti-Israel left; she was recently criticized simply because a pro-Israel group happened to buy a bloc of tickets to one of her shows.

But to the extent that she is trying to strike a critical pose–as she did in a recent tweet lampooning Newt Gingrich’s staunch pro-Israel views–there is no better illustration of why Obama risks losing pro-Israel support in the 2012 election.

On the one hand, Obama is attempting to claim he has not just been pro-Israel, but more pro-Israel than any president in American history.

On the other, his penchant for confrontation with the Israeli government, and the anti-Israel passions of his core left-wing supporters, tend to undermine his pitch. Democrats are trying to redefine what it means to be pro-Israel–and it’s not quite working.

Silverman’s posture is an example of that contradiction–not because it’s axiomatically “anti-Israel” to be pro-Palestinian, but because those on the pro-Israel side who support a two-state solution have become increasingly aware that their empathy is not reciprocated. It is hard to imagine a Palestinian actor provocatively setting her location to “State of Israel,” for example.

In 2008, Silverman led “The Great Schlep,” an effort to bring pro-Obama Jews to Florida to convince their allegedly racist grandparents to give the black candidate their swing-state vote. Part of that effort included reassuring Jews about Obama’s support for Israel: “Barack Obama’s foreign policy is much more stabilizing than John McCain’s, and much better for Israel,” Silverman claimed.

It’s harder to make that case today, when Obama–and, now, Silverman–seem to be at pains to show solidarity with the Palestinian cause (and when the Middle East is more unstable today than in 2008).

Criticism of Israel is not the issue; sometimes that criticism is entirely appropriate. What’s troubling to Silverman’s intended audience is that they are being asked to accept that criticism of Israel, or solidarity with the Palestinian cause, is the essence of support for Israel.

Similarly, criticism towards Israel–or outright hostility–has become the litmus test of true membership in the “progressive” movement, creating a dilemma for pro-Israel Democrats who otherwise empathize with the Occupy Wall Street movement and its purported “social justice” aspirations. Occupy activists, for example, have announced their intent to protest and disrupt the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

If Obama were to confront his allies in the Occupy movement, and if Silverman were to confront the anti-Israel left in general, her case for Obama might be a bit more convincing.

What’s a liberal comic to do when it becomes harder every day to defend President Barack Obama?

Why, play the race card – even when it’s not even in the deck.

Comedienne Wanda Sykes, who refused to lay a humorous glove on Obama during her short-lived talk show, is now slamming Gov. Rick Perry for something he hasn’t done.

Sykes appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last night and tore into the GOP presidential field. Why bother speak truth to actual power – the president – when you can taunt your ideological foes?

But even by liberal standards Sykes’ shtick was out of line regarding Perry, who withdrew from the presidential field this week.

You know, he had to drop out,” she added, “because I’m pretty sure he was one more debate away from saying the N-word. He really was. Oh, he was right on the edge. He was like ‘Oh, I can’t speak in public anymore like that. One more debate, I’m just, it’s gonna fly out.’ He knew it.

Of course, Sykes isn’t the only dishonest liberal who sees racists around every corner.
