Empty Theatre!!!: MSM Currently Brewing Up Phony ‘Undefeated’ Narrative

by John Nolte

With the roaring success ”The Undefeated” has already had at changing the conversation about Sarah Palin from tanning beds and crosshair maps to, you know, her actual record as a public servant, the Left and their dishonest allies in the MSM are obviously as worried as they are desperate. As a result, this morning at ”The Atlantic” we’re greeted with a 950+ word article filled with precious NPR-esque prose and the delicate pose of a journalist just reporting the difficult truth, all under the following headline:

Sarah Palin Movie Debuts to Empty Theater in Orange County

We’re then told:

It isn’t strictly accurate to say that I sat through the whole movie alone. Just as the previews started, two young women walked in giggling together and took seats three rows behind me. Afraid that they’d ruined the only story I had at that point — What If Sarah Palin Starred in a Movie and No One Showed Up? — I hoped they’d at least oblige me with an interview, and so they did.

From there, the corrupt MSM has been gleefully off and running and amplifying the glorious news:

The hard-left film site Movie Line:

Empty Theaters, 0% Positive Reviews Greet Sarah Palin Documentary

New York Magazine:

For the debut of the Sarah Palin documentary, Atlantic scribe Conor Frieserdorf was alone in an Orange County, California, theater, one of just ten nationwide showing The Undefeated.

Frum Forum:

Palin Movie Opens to No Crowds

Salon:

Palin movie debuts to an audience of empty seats

And naturally, Politico’s Ben Smith of the Tanning Bed Smiths:

‘MILF’: How the MSM Uses Popular Culture To Do Their Dirty Work

by John Nolte

Piers Morgan is a CNN primetime host, a valued position at a cable news network that likes to present itself as down-the-middle, objective, centrist, and fair … everything it says their competition is not. But if you watch the clip below, you have to ask yourself why a supposedly objective news outlet would host a comedian famous for being vulgar and openly hostile towards conservative women.

And it gets worse…

—–

For those of you who live the clean life, a “MILF” is a “Mother I’d Like to F—.” Now, you can’t blame Bill Maher for being Bill Maher. In fact, it’s this kind of rabid soundbite that makes him a regular guest on these kinds of shows. But why is he a guest?

Well, if you notice, when Maher refers to Governor Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann as MILFs, Morgan audibly chuckles.

That explains a lot.

Using Bill Maher and Jon Stewart and David Letterman and Tina Fey and other left-wing showbiz types is all part of the MSM’s overall gameplan to personally destroy conservatives. Phase one is elevating left-wing celebrities as serious commentariats by having them on as guests or presenting clips of their work or employing them as permanent hosts of “The View.” Phase two is for the MSM to use their commentary/comedy as a way to practice the politics of personal destruction. Case in point: Maher’s demeaning and diminishing of Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann — two serious, accomplished, and savvy leaders — into sexual objects. This is nothing more than a different play from the same playbook that found the MSM using Tina Fey’s Palin impersonation over and over and over again until it stuck in the minds of some voters. “Saturday Night Live” has less than 10 million viewers a week. But thanks to the mainstream media’s obsession with destroying Palin, EVERYONE saw Fey’s impersonation.

This is no accident.

Non-Controversy of the Day: ‘Horrible Boss’ Jennifer Aniston Says ‘Faggot’ in New Film

by Hollywoodland

Our buddy Kyle Smith points out that the Daily Beast has made a laughably pathetic attempt to gin up some controversy over a line from the movie “Horrible Bosses,” which is in theaters today.  From NewsBeast’s Ramin Setoodeh:

In the new comedy Horrible Bosses, Jennifer Aniston plays an overbearing dentist named Julia who tortures her assistant Dale (Charlie Day) by sexually harassing him. She’s one of three managers (along with Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey) meant to be so detestable that their underlings plot to murder them. She constantly corners Dale, asking him to perform lewd sexual acts. In one scene, Aniston’s character calls him into her office, wearing nothing but a white lab coat. When he expresses discomfort, she taunts him like a high-school bully. “You’re starting to sound like a little faggot there, Dale,” she says.

[...]

A few openly gay screenwriters, producers, and publicists said that a high-profile star like Aniston using that word, even in character, seemed like it could backfire. Others argued that the word could have been replaced by one that is less volatile—and still made the same point. “I just don’t know if everybody is thinking about the collateral damage they are creating,” says Dan Bucatinsky, the executive producer for the Showtime series Web Therapy headlined by another Friends star, Lisa Kudrow. “That’s a harder question for a screenplay writer. What’s going to happen when millions of people watch an actress who is supposed to be America’s Sweetheart say a word like that?”

But even Setoodeh acknowledges that Aniston’s character is meant to be repellent. She’s a horrible boss.  She’s supposed to be offensive.  So it’s not America’s Sweetheart saying it; it’s Jennifer Aniston playing a bad, bad, bad person.  The article goes as far as to suggest we consider removing the word from our language entirely.  Bad people say bad things, in movies and in life, and removing words from our language because they offend a group of people will just make our bad guys seem less bad.

Is that what NewsBeast is after? (more…)

Exclusive: ‘The Undefeated’ Trailer – Daughter. Wife. Mother. Warrior.

by Andrew Breitbart

The much anticipated Sarah Palin documentary by filmmaker Steve Bannon comes out in theaters next Friday, July 15th.  People can now see the trailer for the first time.  I’ve now seen the film three times and one thing that stands out is how Sarah Palin has always been on the offensive and refuses to apologize for who she is.  Subsequently, there are tens of millions of Americans who not only relate to her, but her ballsyness contrasts more with the Republican Party than the Democratic Party.  If Sarah Palin doesn’t run for the Presidency, someone in the Republican Party should take note on what real leadership looks like.

The Undefeated Teaser Trailer from Dain Valverde on Vimeo.

Democrats who watch this will see somebody they wish they had on their side—and they did once, in Alaska.  Governor Palin stood up to the deservedly vilified ExxonMobil whose criminal misconduct with the Exxon Valdez was exacerbated with years and years of legal wrangling and deep-seated corruption that Governor Palin took on directly.  Bannon’s movie is not a woe-is-her exercise in victimology; it’s a jarring look at how entrenched politicians and entrenched media can distort reality to maintain the status quo.

I have built a brand and a mission based upon pointing out media distortion and lies.  I have never seen a greater disparity between the media Sarah Palin and the real one.  Mainstream media types who have seen this movie are admitting as much but claim that it’s Sarah Palin who drastically changed into a completely different person.  No, this was a manufactured Palin, manufactured to destroy her in the pursuit of protecting Barack Obama.

Breitbart to Appear in Sorkin’s HBO Pilot; MSNBC Nixes Matthews’s Cameo

by Hollywoodland

UPDATE: After Chris Matthews backed out, the creators of the show decided they would take this scene in a different direction that doesn’t feature known pundits.  Sorkin and his team expressed interest in having Breitbart on in a future episode, should the show go to series.

***

There has been some speculation over the last 24 hours that Andrew Breitbart will be making an appearance as himself in Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming HBO project “More As This Story Develops,” and that is indeed the case.  “More,” which will star Jeff Daniels, is a dramatic pilot based on the world of cable news.  Originally, Breitbart was to be in a debate scene opposite MSNBC anchor Chris Matthew, but MSNBC has squelched Matthew’s participation.  New York Magazine reports (emphasis mine):

Vulture hears that plans for Matthews to shoot a roundtable debate scene in Develops alongside conservative muckracker/ Weiner-eater Andrew Breitbart have had to be scrapped because, according to a production insider, Matthews’s bosses at MSNBC nixed the idea.

It’s not like MSNBC has a blanket no-scripted-programming order for their anchors: Matthews played an MSNBC reporter two years ago in the Russell Crowe pic State of Play. And a guest spot on Sorkin’s show would likely be good for publicity; assuming it goes to series, Develops will likely boast an audience filled with the sort of left-leaning smarties targeted by the news-and-opinion network. So what was the problem? Our spy speculates that even though Sorkin’s ideology meshes with MSNBC’s, the network’s brass may have taken issue with the way More portrays the world of cable news and its corporate culture.[...]  (UPDATE: Our source has further elaborated to us that MSNBC also didn’t like the fact that parts of the show seemed to be skewering left-leaning media.)

NY Mag describes the lead character, an anchor to be played by Daniels, as “a passionate, liberal Keith Olbermann–esque character.” (more…)

Daily Gut: On Tolerance

by Greg Gutfeld

So, on Tuesday, Glenn Beck talked about how he and his family were harassed while catching an outdoor movie in Manhattan’s Bryant Park.

Now, Glenn gets upset, a lot.

So you never know how much is theater.

But then Lindsey Piscatell wrote a letter, saying she was seated behind him.

Some excerpts.

…while the crowd was certainly not *thrilled* that he had shown up, his family was left completely alone, and for the most part, he was too. Conversely, it was his security detail…that seemed to be unnecessarily prickly with the crowd, scolding myself and my friends for acrobatics and other harmless activities

Acrobatics?

Everyone does that before a movie, right?

She goes on:

It was my friend that spilled the… wine…and I can assure you that it was a complete accident. A happy one, to be sure, but nonetheless a complete and utter accident. As soon as the wine spilled …apologies were made and my friends pretty much scrambled to give … napkins..”.

Of course.

So I contacted this Lindsey person, via email to follow up, but she never got back to me.

I wanted to ask her why, in her letter, she doesn’t mention her tweet.

You know – the one where she wrote “F*cking a**hole glen beck is sitting next to me….get the f*ck out of my city.”

And what of the tweet from a friend, suggesting Lindsey spill wine on Beck, “accidentally.” (more…)

Palin Quotes From ‘The Undefeated’ Premiere On Vicious Celeb Attacks, MSM

by John Nolte

Paul Bond of The Hollywood Reporter was one of the few media types to gain admission to the premiere of “The Undefeated,” which is appropriate because he’s one of the few honest reporters out there. He also had the opportunity to talk to the Governor afterwards and ask her about the never-ending stream of vile, profane and venomous attacks that come from our Entertainment Class — a point brought home in “The Undefeated,” which opens with a sickening montage of the worst of them.

Huge exclusive at THR:

Sarah Palin stared a bit uncomfortably at a movie screen Tuesday night watching a montage of Matt Damon, David Letterman, Madonna, Howard Stern, Bill Maher, Louis C.K. and other celebrities malign her, then asked The Hollywood Reporter: “What would make someone be so full of hate?” …

Palin said she hadn’t seen or heard much of the TV and radio footage before seeing it in the movie, which bleeped some of the dirtier language, though it was easy to determine what the entertainers were saying, including lots of profane references to the female anatomy.

“This is the first that I’ve seen much of that. It kind of takes you back,” she told THR. “It makes you want to reach out to some of these folks and say, What’s your problem? And what was the problem? And what is the problem?

“What would make a celebrity, like you saw on screen, so hate someone that they’d seek their destruction, their death, the death of their children? What would make someone be so full of hate and, I guess, a sense of being threatened that they would want to see that person destroyed?”

Garofalo: Clarence Thomas ‘Has Stockholm Syndrome’ But Tea Partiers are Racists

by Dana Loesch

SCENE: Two of the most amusing people in politics sit on a poorly lit set for a fledgling d-list network founded by the man who claims to have invented the Internet (who also has four kids but wants everyone else to keep their knees kissing). They talk about how the tea party is racist — and in the next breath shrug off the political leanings of conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as being nothing more than views of a back man too stupid to see that he’s being used by his white masters.

“Explain that one to me now, you have an African American gentlemen married to a white woman who is in cahoots with a group that has a lot of racists in it. Is that Scotkhom Syndrome on his part or what’s going on?”

Olbermann says:

“You can be 100% white and not be racist … you don’t have to be integrated.”

Because he went from an all-white network to an all-white show, he was quick to slip his backside from that sling.

Garofalo:

“If it was a white Democrat, you couldn’t get so many Tea Party people so upset whatever it is they’re upset about – showing up armed to town hall meetings,” she said. “By the way, if a black person showed up armed at a town hall meeting where a white politician was speaking, it would be on lockdown martial law and we’d never hear the end of it.”

No, it was the media who went into lockdown mode when an armed, law-abiding conservative black American showed up to a rally exercising his Second Amendment rights — in fact they went beyond lockdown and tried to erase his existence by omitting his race.

Herman Cain Fires Back: Jon Stewart ‘Mocked Me With Amos and Andy’ Voice

by Hollywoodland

Larry Elder writes:

It would be unfair to call Jon Stewart a racist but when he mocked GOP presidential contender Herman Cain as essentially an illiterate, on Thursday’s show, it has to be asked wouldn’t Stewart and his cronies at The Daily Show have satirized any sort of conservative talk show host, like a Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, as a bigot if they had joked that President Barack Obama didn’t “like to read?”

‘The Undefeated’: New Palin Movie Already a Success

by John Nolte

The key to the ultimate effectiveness of a documentary like “The Undefeated” is more than just how many people see it or even who those people are. Certainly that matters to some degree, but so does how the very existence of the documentary changes the national political conversation. Naysayers of the “The Undefeated” dismiss the film’s impact by telling us that only Palinistas are going to bother to buy tickets. In other words, since the film preaches to the choir there will be no new converts. Intentionally or not, that’s a fairly simplistic declaration that doesn’t take into account how the film will impact the political news narrative — an impact that’s already apparent to anyone paying attention.

Thanks to the overwhelming publicity the film has already generated (along with the fortuitous combination of the email dump), for the first time since Palin arrived on the national scene her impressive record as the Chief Executive of Alaska is finally getting some serious media attention. Today in the Daily Caller, Rick Manning has an excellent piece that touches on this very subject. In an editorial titled “Will the New Palin Movie Sway Voters?,” he closes with this:

Right now, most Americans are desperate for a leader who will be unfazed by the entrenched big-government culture that pervades D.C. regardless of which political party is in charge.

Most Americans look at the crowd of Republican candidates for the presidency and yearn for someone with guts, charisma and accomplishments.

Most Americans want someone who they can trust to do what is right for America regardless of the political risk to their own career.

“The Undefeated” reintroduces America to Sarah Palin, a person who has the exact combination of qualities that Americans know are needed to restore America’s greatness and primacy in the world.

‘I’m a comedian first. My comedy is informed by an ideological background, there’s no question about that.

But the thing that you will never understand…is that Hollywood, yeah, they’re liberal, but that’s not their primary motivating force. I’m not an activist. I am a comedian.’

Addressing issues of bias in the main stream media, Stewart responded:  ‘Do I want my voice heard.

‘Absolutely, that’s why I got into comedy. Am I an activist, in your mind? A partisan ideological activist.

Mr Wallace answered with a short, ‘Yeah.’

‘Okay, then I disagree with you.’ Stewart said.

Selective Outrage: L.A. Times Lashes Out at Tracy Morgan, Gives Palin-H8ing Comics Pass After Pass

by Alexander Marlow

To understand if a person or group is on the left or the right, look no further than what outrages them.  If you’re offended by how much tax revenue is squandered year after year, you’re probably on the right; if you are ticked off at the “rich” for not paying their “fair share,” you lean left.  If you have a strong urge to kill or capture evildoers around the world, you’re likely conservative; but if you’re irate that detainees might be water-boarded, safe money is you’re lefty.  If you drive home in your Toyota Prius to pop a Big Pharma-produced Lexapro that gives you just enough vitality to take your ungrateful kids to the Starbucks for a Java Chip Frappuccino®… only to lecture them on the evils of the corporations once you get there, there’s a good chance you’re left-wing.  But if you love capitalism… you get my point.

What inspires your ire tips your hand–politically speaking–and a sanctimonious editorial on Tracy Morgan in yesterday’s Los Angeles Times tells you all you need to know about the staff of SoCal’s leading paper.

For those of you who dropped out of society for the past week, the synopsis is that during a stand-up comedy routine in Nashville, Morgan, of “SNL” and “30 Rock” fame, joked that he would stab his son if he used a “gay voice.”  Word got out and all hell broke loose.  The twitterverse was outraged, celebrities clamored to condemn the comment, and Morgan eventually delivered the obligatory pandering over-apology replete with a commitment to partner with America’s most ironically named advocacy organization: GLAAD.

The story is a social justice cliché.

The courageous editors at the Los Angeles Times joined the fray yesterday, unloading a bold op-ed stating Morgan had crossed the line: (more…)

‘Gasland’ Director Moves to Memory-Hole Video That Reveals Inconvenient Truths

by Phelim McAleer

Josh Fox has responded to valid journalistic questions about his documentary Gasland by stifling the freedom of the press.

I travelled to Chicago for a Q&A where Fox admitted hiding facts from his documentary that contradicted his scaremongering about drilling for natural gas.

And Fox’s response when we posted the video on YouTube – he got his lawyers to have YouTube pull it down.

——

That’s right – he has tried to use lawyers to silence journalist from asking difficult questions and putting his answers to those questions on the Internet.

Fox’s excuse is a breach of copyright. In a video that is 3:10 minutes long we used 26 seconds of Gasland only to show how Fox was being unethical and misleading. It is a classic case of “fair use” of someones work for the purpose of criticism and is totally legally allowed if not encouraged under fair use law.

But Fox does not want any criticism. He does not want any freedom of speech.

‘Primetime Propaganda’: Leftist Hollywood Schools America

by Jeannie DeAngelis

Ben Shapiro’s new book, Primetime Propaganda: the True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV confirms what has been suspected by many for years – Hollywood emphasizes, repeats and stresses the liberal agenda with the specific goal of impacting opinion and shaping minds.

It’s no secret that television commercials, sitcoms, children’s shows and mainstream news are all renowned for promoting left-leaning bias. Woven into the tapestry of primetime Hollywood offerings are messages insinuating that the liberal choice is always the better, more intelligent option.

Television is saturated with liberals who attempt to influence public opinion with subliminal methods as subtle as smiling approvingly when interviewing a liberal and scowling when discussing a conservative.

The hit show Glee presents homosexuality as a viable option for confused prom “queens” vying for the dual prize of acceptance and a rhinestone crown. Private Practice’s Dr. Addison Montgomery heroically performed a partial-birth abortion and even Doctor House’s main squeeze Lisa Edelstein, complete with a hanger for a prop, promoted legalized abortion in a “We Won’t Go Back” ad.

While most liberal bias is blatant, some can be more insidious, because inherent to all liberalism, regardless of genre or venue, is an unrelenting crusade to portray conservatives as idiotic dolts.

‘Primetime Propaganda’: To Protect Hollywood, MSM Focuses on ‘Sesame Street’

by John Nolte

Personally, I found Ben Shapiro’s book brilliant, well-researched, insightful, and even a page turner. What Ben’s written is a serious, scholarly work that makes a damning case against the Hollywood Left with facts, figures, history, and dozens of interviews. Nothing the MSM is doing to dismiss it, however, is at all surprising. We knew they would find a way to ignore the research and cover up for Hollywood. This is what the MSM does. This is how the MSM operates. Frog and the scorpion — especially when it comes to the water-carrying entertainment media.

And so, for the most part, what we’ve seen from the corrupt MSM since the release of “Primetime Propaganda” is Sesame Street, Sesame Street, Sesame Street… Or equally dismissive headlines that snark something along the lines of: “Hollywood Liberals Admit Liberals Run Hollywood.” Pushing a one-sided political agenda over the public airwaves is not a story. Some of the biggest names in television admitting conservatives are belittled and discriminated against … not a story.

Instead…

Two pages about Sesame Street are isolated and mocked — two pages out of a 355 page work that contains literally dozens of explosive interviews with some of television’s biggest names. Here’s the latest example:

‘The Undefeated’: Creepy ‘Journalist’ Who Moved in Next Door to Palin Family Freaked Over Upcoming Movie

by John Nolte

For those of you who don’t know Joe McGinniss, he’s the “journalist” who– unaware of the difference between Dian Fossey and Bob Woodward —  made the ridiculously creepy decision to move in  next door to the Palin family in order to intimidate and gain attention for himself research his upcoming hit-job “The Rogue.” According to Politico, he’ll be one of many during this campaign season using the obscene tactic of weaponizing Palin’s very own children as political bludgeons against her.

Kenneth Vogel at Politico, who helpfully amplified and mainstreamed McGinniss’ work:

McGinniss, who said his publisher wouldn’t let him do interviews, has compared the Palin family’s life to a soap opera and signaled that his book will focus on the mother of all Palin conspiracy theories: the long-simmering, though widely rejected, allegation that Palin’s daughter Bristol or someone else entirely is actually the mother of Palin’s youngest son, Trig.

As I wrote here, in this respect, McGinniss will be very useful to Obama’s Palace Guards in the MSM (like Politico) when it comes to these non-stop attempts to destroy the Governor through every method imaginable — even using her own children. And this will happen whether she runs for the presidency or not because the Left and their MSM allies are desperate to keep the Palin-Fury brewing — the nonsense that freak-shows her family, obscures her record, distracts from the issues, and constantly portrays her as unserious. In other words, they want to talk about everything except Palin’s time as Governor and her positions on the issues. McGinniss is a bad man, though, not a dumb one, and he apparently understands the power of popular culture and what a million dollar documentary-feature focused on the issues can do to help swamp and overcome the dishonest narrative he and his ilk are trying to make permanent:

Where’s the Media Fury?: Peter Fonda Trains Grandchildren To Take Up Arms Against President Obama

by John Nolte

Just last week at the Cannes Film Festival, actor Peter Fonda called President Obama a “fucking traitor” and now, according to the Telegraph, we discover he’s encouraging his own grandchildren to take up arms against the president due to some upcoming conflict between the haves and have nots.

Does Peter Fonda consider himself a “have” … and what about his inherited-wealth grandchildren?

Secret Service to the white courtesy phone…

“I’m training my grandchildren to use long-range rifles,” said the actor, 71. “For what purpose? Well, I’m not going to say the words ‘Barack Obama’, but …”

“I prefer to not to use the words, ‘let’s stop something’. I prefer to say, ‘let’s start something, let’s start the world’.

He added, enigmatically: “It’s more of a thought process than an actuality, but we are heading for a major conflict between the haves and the have nots. I came here many years ago with a biker movie and we stopped a war. Now, it’s about starting the world.

Patricia Heaton Has Lost Potential Roles Because of Her Politics

by John Nolte

This one goes out to New Blacklist-denier Patrick Goldstein of the L.A. Times….

PopEater:

Known around left-leaning Hollywood for her conservative stances on weighty issues like abortion and stem cells, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ star Patricia Heaton is happy to explain how important her Christian faith is to her and how it shapes her views and career choices. …

Telling me that she has many gay friends and doesn’t oppose gay marriage, Patricia gets frustrated being automatically lumped together with other conservatives, a characterization she says has cost her possible work.

“We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn’t want to work with us because of our politics,” she said, with her husband David Hunt adding, “We get lumped in with lunatics.”

Who but the worst kind of ideological bigot wouldn’t want to work with Patricia Heaton, one of the most talented actresses to ever star in a sitcom? Michael Moore to Join Olbermann’s New Show (Now, if I Could Only Figure Out What Channel It’s On…)

by AWR Hawkins

Apparently, instead of just wallowing in the misery that must have attended getting canned by MSNBC back in January, Olbermann has spent part of his hiatus from the public eye rubbing elbows with “top progressive…voices” like Richard Lewis, Ken Burns, and the always adorable Michael Moore (yes, the same Moore who helped raise $50,000 for the ground zero mosque and who still believes universal healthcare will work in America regardless of its miserable showing in Europe and Canada).

Moreover, Olbermann recently announced that Lewis, Burns, and Moore, will all be part of his new show, set to premier on Al Gore’s Current TV on June 20, 2011.

As it concerns Moore, this announcement is very timely because it comes on the heels of Moore’s incredibly ignorant op-ed scribbling – incredibly ignorant even for him – about our actions against the recently deceased Osama bin Laden. It appears that Moore believes our country’s image would have been better served had we captured Osama and brought him back for trial instead of just killing him on the spot.

Yet Moore’s thoughts are so incongruous that in the same op-ed in which he makes his case for a trial, he also wrote that he’s against the death penalty. By extrapolation, this can only mean that if we had in fact brought Osama back for trial, even upon finding him guilty, the most Moore would have wanted us to do for punishment would have been to sentence him to life in prison.
