A Message to Our Veterans
by Bill WhittleSo many of us in the business know people who have been overseas to help entertain the troops, and the luckiest among us have actually had the experience ourselves. I’m proud to have moved from Category A to category B this last week, when I was able to spend five days down at Guantanamo Bay.
There’s a lot to talk about. But the thing that struck me hardest was the fact that even though I expected to be blown away by our men and women in uniform, I really had no idea of just how far my high expectations would be exceeded. The competence and discipline I took for granted going in. It was the soldier’s generosity that kept knocking me on my butt.
So here are the remarks I was privileged to have been able to give. I hope that it in some small way captures not just what I feel, but what all we civilians feel, and not just about the men and women stationed at Guantanamo Bay, but rather about every single one of them: past, present and future.

What do you say about a person who will leave loved ones for little recognition and monetary pay and place themselves in harms way in the name of freedom? Mere words can't articulate the glory and thanks that vets deserve from their country.
From Vets everywhere, we say thank you Bill.
seconding the notion of StlDan…
to all of our brothers- and sisters- who serve, and have served. Two things:
Thanks. And welcome home…

Well done, Bill, wish I could have been there with you!
Truer words were never spoken. I thank them wherever I find them. I appreciate their service. They are the protectors on the playground of the world. They keep the bullies of the world at bay — and protect those of us who cannot do what they do.
Their mission is dangerous and noble. Long live our soldiers. May no stinking bureaucrat or politician ever get another serviceman or servicewoman killed with their cupidity or stupidity.
Nice Tribute! I am proud to be out ranked by everyone of those shitheads.
On this day of tribute, I wish to salute my dad, Lt Cecil Couch USAAF, for service to this great country during 1942-1945
Thank you, Pops.
Obama is the first American President to directly criticize his own country while overseas. It is an insult to our vets and to every American. Why are so many willing to let an this Marxist shame everything America stands for?

As a vet myself, I wish that more in the "business" would realize not just the service we've given, but why we've given it. So many Hollywood types, Entertainers think that all they have to do is go over and put on a show for the military fans, but then they come home and stab us in the back. We swore to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Guess what, those of you die hard liberal types, you are a "DOMESTIC ENEMY". You give your cash to radicals that serve only one master, whichever one that destroys the Constitution. Your subservience to groups and individuals that believe in re-distribution of wealth, universal health-care and other power grabs by Marxists currently in power are contrary to the very foundation of this great Republic. Do us all a favor, if you can't or won't understand our founding documents, just stay home, save us the inevitable disappointment that your actions bring.

An American Soldier!
Mr. Whittle, I read your book Silent America, and loved every page of it. I lent it to my sister, and it helped start her conversion too.
Good to see you haven't lost your touch!
And thanks for telling those soldiers pretty exactly how I feel.
As a former Solider who was stationed in GTMO, thank you for being willing to visit with the troops down there. I know how much it meant to me when I was there and know how much it means to the troops still there. Anytime people would come just to visit with us made us feel like we had not been forgotton. So from the bottom of my heart, Thank you!!!
AWE AWE AWE SOME!
Thanks for doing it right Bill!
One correction fantum, no one born as a subject to a foreign government or crown can be by definition considered to be Natural Born as required to hold that office. Obama only ever attained the roll of U.S. Senator and then only for a very short time at that.
It's former Senator Obama – nothing more.
