EXCLUSIVE: Mullah Omar Captured!
by Brad ThorThrough key intelligence sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have just learned that reclusive Taliban leader and top Osama bin Laden ally, Mullah Omar has been taken into custody.
According to the State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program there is a bounty of up to $10 million on Omar for sheltering Osama bin-Laden and his al-Qaeda network in the years prior to the September 11 attacks as well as the period during and immediately thereafter.
At the end of March, US Military Intelligence was informed by US operatives working in the Af/Pak theater on behalf of the D.O.D. that Omar had been detained by Pakistani authorities. One would assume that this would be passed up the chain and that the Secretary of Defense would have been alerted immediately. From what I am hearing, that may not have been the case.
When this explosive information was quietly confirmed to United States Intelligence ten days ago by Pakistani authorities, it appeared to take the Defense Department by surprise. No one, though, is going to be more surprised than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. It seems even with confirmation from the Pakistanis themselves, she was never brought up to speed.
Over the weekend, Clinton accused Pakistani Government officials of “holding back” on bin Laden intelligence. In an interview Sunday on CBS “60 Minutes,” she said:
“I believe that somewhere in this government are people who know where Usama bin Laden and Al Qaeda is, where Mullah Omar and the leadership of the Afghan Taliban is, and we expect more cooperation to help us bring to justice, capture or kill those who attacked us on 9/11.”
They know all right and so do we, at least when it comes to Mullah Omar. We have known since the end of March and we had it confirmed ten days ago by the Pakistanis. So why didn’t the State Department and the CIA know?

Sorry, dude, but I've heard stuff like this too many times only to be disappointed. I'll believe it when I see Omar's ugly mug live on CNN.

Awesome if true. The Taliban is the scourge of Aghanistan and Pakistan, and must be defeated for either country to know some semblance of peace.
Here's to hoping that these sources are correct.
Lets pray that it's true and they interrogate him over there so we don't have to read him his rights…….
Another blackout of the news…..While negotiations for his release are ongoing!!!! The American "Tea Partiers" are the true enemy now!!! The Taliban are now allies of the Official US government!!! Their infiltration into America is protected and/or conducted by the powers that reign!!! As we recall, Mullah Omar was President of Afghanistan in September 2001. When Bush II demanded he detain and extradite bin Laden, Omar's refusal precipitated first the invasion of Afghanistan, then a 60-nation Coalition expeditionary force against Saddam Hussein's Iraq in March 2003. Fortunately, the craven and feckless Albert Gore had slunk away to slurp up Carbon Credits since November 2000, while Big Ears as a "Muslim, non-professing" had yet to betray U.S. interests with his anti-Semitic, Black Supremacist, hate-America impostures.
Will Mullah Omar log a spell in Gitmo, protest his innocence next door to Ground Zero as his Farrakhanist buddies in Holder's DOJ direct? Stay tuned… if bin Laden himself remains vertical, knee-deep in porcine excrement, perhaps the two could double-date their sloe-eyed virgins one-on-one.
If true; the fact the a 'news' story this big could be kept from the 24/7 stream of information coming from FOX/CNN down to the basement blogger is astonishing. I'll believe it when I see it as well.
If these guys were really as smart as they seem; all they have to do is donate to Organizing for America and it's all good. They could pull up a lounger in Time Square without worry.

I hope we send our waterboards to Pakistan. They will know how to use them…although it is likely they would consider waterboarding effeminate, compared to some of their methods.

if you are wrong, snooze we get false reports like this all the time. If you are RIGHT, then you may be compromising an investigation. There woudl have been a good reason to keep this quiet, you are an ass for exposing it.
If this is indeed true perhaps it was a trust issue. This current administration has proven to be somewhat rude, abrasive and disloyal to many of our "allies" since coming to power and I suspect many of them lack faith in the administration.

It occurs to me; isn't it strange we have the "government" of Pakistan as an "ally" and have a Pakistani national attempting to detonate a car bomb in Times Square just the other day?
If we could "waterboard" the Pakistani government 'leadership' I KNOW they could tell where bin Laden is in about 30 seconds.

Obama hates white people. Look at his non-response to the Tennessee floods, just lettin em die and handle it by themselves. Bush did so much more during Katrina yet was still told he hated black people and he never even went to a preacher preachin hate against blacks but Obama did go to a preacher teachin hate against whites, then look at how he is letting Tennessee, white, country folk tend for themselves with no mention nor help, yep, he definately hates white people!
If true, it's certainly interesting that they're keeping news like this from the DOD and the Secretary of State. I wonder what's going on there. Big congrats on the breaking the story if true, though!
I always felt that the us military made a deal with omar whereby he got his folks to surrender and they let him go. So, I never thought they had any interest in capturing him. If the pakis got him, its more likely due to his activities since 9/11–tribal squabbles or some such.
In any case, I can't see that a man who has been out of power for nearly 10 years is of much interest. Certainly Obama is not interested in publicity about muslim terrorism.
I think there are tensions in pakistan whereby civil war is just barely kept from breaking out. So, no reason to think they have unified political views. Having said that, I don't trust their government at all, and think the usgov is being clumsily out-negotiated when we do business with them.

I read an interesting take on Miranda rights by Andrew McCarthy over at NRO's Corner. He was one of the lead prosecutors that convicted the blind sheik over the first WTC bombings. And he was going to work on a panel of lawyers reviewing legal procedures until Obama started making sounds about going after Bush's DOJ lawyers, at which point he publicly quit and advised all his fellow lawyers to boycott the plan until the DoJ made it clear they would not be prosecuted at a later date for their work.
He said the only real restriction on Miranda is you can't admit any statements made before the Miranda warning as evidence in court.
The example he used was the Christmas bomber. He said the prosecutors have 300 eye witnesses, they don't need a confession to convict, so there was no need to Mirandize him at all, he's already done. With the Times Square bomber its different, because they have no eye witness.
Or an offer to foot the bill for the cretin's legal defense, you know, because is pathology was probably a result of American capitalism and insensitivity.

It's probably impolitic to think about praying that some SEALs get their hands on him, beat him to within an inch of his life with gun barrels, shoot him in the chest to get a big sucking chest wound and stick a bacon-wrapped cigar into the hole so he can inhale cancer and IBLIS at the same time until he croaks.
