Burt’s Eye View: Life Here On Planet Bizarro
by Burt PrelutskyBased on the email I receive from my readers, I understand that I’m not alone in thinking that the left-wing lugnuts have turned America into the world’s biggest loony bin. I’m not quite sure how they managed to pull it off, but the evidence of their mischief is obvious and overwhelming.
For openers, we have the administration’s refusal to let White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers explain how the Salahis crashed the state dinner for India’s prime minister, Dr. Monmohan Singh. These are the same folks who spent eight years insisting that the American people had a right to receive regular status reports on Dick Cheney’s bowel movements.
For my part, I am less concerned with the presence of the Salahis in the White House than with Rahm Emanuel, Cass Sunstein and David Axelrod, having the run of the place.
I happen to approve of Obama’s demanding that Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai eliminate the rampant corruption of his administration. Likewise, I approve of Karzai’s insistence that President Obama do the same.
I don’t suppose that anyone was terribly surprised when Chris Matthews, the man who’s given hope to lispers everywhere, referred to West Point as the enemy camp when Obama used the venue and its cadets as stage scenery for his recent noodle-rattling speech.
Many people gave the president kudos for aggravating his liberal base by committing 30,000 additional troops to the war in Afghanistan. Perhaps I would have added a few of my own if he hadn’t used the occasion to voice his opposition to the wars in Vietnam and Iraq, basically spitting in the eye of those gallant men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in those distant lands.
It says something about the loyalty and discipline of the cadets in the audience — at least those who managed to stay awake — that they gave the goofus-in-chief a polite round of applause at the conclusion of his asinine remarks.
Inasmuch as Obama, as usual, provided the enemy with an end date for America’s commitment, one could hardly describe his speech as a call to arms. It was more a call to disarmament. I suspect that, based on his record, whenever Malia or Sasha misbehaves, punishment consists of being sentenced to time-outs in their palatial bedrooms. At the very least, I’d make them listen to an hour’s worth of Joe Biden’s most memorable orations.
What more needs to be said about the current administration than that Obama takes every opportunity to insult America; that he curtsies to the Saudis and the Chinese and pays his profound respects to Hugo Chavez, Vladimir Putin and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; all the while, back-stabbing Poland, Israel and Czechoslovakia?
And, then, for good measure, he allows three Navy SEALs to face prosecution for bitch-slapping an Islamic terrorist.
Is it really any wonder that I wish it had been the Obamas who’d been caught sneaking into President Salahi’s gala event?

this gang in the white house, finds all of these abhorrent behaviors to be perfectly normal, and with the media megaphone, pushing this out to the masses, it's easy to find ourselves believing this war we're in is lost. not so! turn off the tv, go talk to your friends. they're probably just as outraged and pissed off as you are.
This much is certain; the Secret Service would never have allowed those two into the soiree without the ok of someone higher up. That Desiree Rogers was not allowed to testify says volumes. Now the Reparationist-in-Chief has allowed the Billary to add to the kitty for Hugo and his Socialist Allstars. We'd be better off with PeeWee Herman in the White House.
I get the impression that someone associated with the WH has some sort of death wish, allowing patronage to by-pass normal CIA and security screenings and get that close to Obambi. To me that is frightening. I know the left and its love for political assasination, then turning around and blaming the right for the deed.

The insane are running the country. First just look at the eyes of Gore and Dean. Don't they just seem a bit off? I know they don't run the country but they have great influence and are good examples of what they are all like.. I personally don't think we can't survive to the next election. We could if the useless Pravda we had as press were not already assimilated. Not sure what to do but somebody with greatness better step up soon. If not I truly believe the weapons will be drawn. That's because Cheney's bowel movements were the only source for intelligent thought on the left. When you have "$hit for Brains" you had better get the most intelligent $hit you can find to fill your head with. Think about it, name one Liberal policy that is nothing more than a toxic coagulation of lard-filled useless waste from the colon/mind (these are interchangeable when discussing liberal ideas) of someone like Michael Moore that first clogs then ultimately overflows the entire system. Progressive policies are like a Hostess Twinkie, it tastes good going down but has absolutely no nutritional value whatsoever and subsequently causes more harm than good. Part one. I tried to uplift the spirits of a leftist friend by imaging he had turned me to the left side so I sent him this: The left is good because Jennings is a wonderful human being who cares about the safety of school children and public bathhouses, White House un-vetted czars are a good thing, socialism is merely a wise & smooth transitional phase to destroy capitalism and to assist in establishing America as a communist state. As a leftist I shall now change channels to devote myself to the calm reasoning of Olberman, Matthews, et al on MSNBC. Wow, everything looks so bright and breezy from the Starboard side of our sinking vessel.
Part two. As a leftist I feel refreshed and invigorated. Now I am eager for a 'second O term' with perhaps William Ayers replacing Biden as VP and the lovely Rev. Wright offering his Patented 'God Damn America' invocation. I'll have wet dreams about a three-way with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Barbara Boxer. I'll believe totally in Global Warming or Climate Change (or whatever chubby Al decides to call it tomorrow) and all the fabricated statistics,,,,oh and I'll tell all my fellow business owners to stop all R&D, discontinue additional investments re expansion of their markets that would help to decrease unemployment, and turn over all their profits to their idle workers.
Part three. As a leftist I feel that with free health care including payments for unrestricted abortions and coverage for illegal immigrants America will finally become a progressive country the rest of the world can respect and love. The term 'Paper Tiger' just resonates in the polluted air. I feel like bowing deeply to Osama Bin Ladin to kiss his Saudi ass the next time I see him.

Starting in November 2010, We The People, need to impress upon the replacements we choose to give the "privilege" of serving us in government a few important points. It goes something like:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Special emphasis needs to be placed upon "defend the Constitution" and "against all enemies, foreign or domestic" and, most importantly, "So help me God".
In addition to the above, we must add "I understand that failure to uphold my sworn (or affirmed) oath will result in life imprisonment or death by public execution."
If we hold true to the truth, all else will take care of itself.
I recommend impeachment – our country won't survive his entire term.
When I traveled through Iran, I was surprised noone knows Czechoslovakia is no more. When I crossed the border to Armenia, I was surprised even more since Armenia was our "socialist-brother-in-arms" until 1989. And now I am surprised that even someone who seems to know what is he talking about writes about Czechoslovakia as well.
Our governments are doing so little effort to advertise our 'new' country 
My and Slovak nation had to broke-up because of different capitalist-transformation policies, but noone would have imagined that after 17 years world would still know just Czechoslovakia.

Dave, don't know how old you are, but they have been doing this since the 1920's, if not before. They got really bold in the 60's, and haven't let up since. The only reason they haven't been able to do more is the rise of alternative media. I remember the 60's. The left had a lock on the media, and hence, on the hearts and minds of the populace.

Way back when Reagan was president, and pushing tax cuts through Congress, the left cried he was attempting to destroy government by cutting taxes so much, government could only shrink, and remain permanently small.

In order to fully comprehend the left, it requires the ability to suppress, or put aside, the ability to reason, see facts, and understand logic.
They fear the unknown, they cringe at what might happen, uncertainty pains them.
Since capitalism, democracy, free markets, property rights and self determination are based on opportunity, with unknown outcomes, they despise it. They would gladly settle for drab, listless existence, where there are no unknowns. Where a nanny state government tends to their every need.
There fore they don't see the down side to communism, socialism, totalitarianism. To them, that's the obvious, next, evolutionary step for society.
They see republicanism and democracy as backward steps, that needs to be corrected.

When you have Republicans arguing against the health care bill because it will take money away from Medicare, well then, we've already lost. Now farm subsidies, how many republicans are for them? They are nothing but welfare but you'll see the most amazing verbal gymnastics from republicans, particularly in farm states on why they aren't welfare and are in fact just. I got a 1st hand experience with it from my father-n-law who is a hard-line republican and former farmer and he was railing against people receiving welfare AND being able to vote. I agreed but added that neither should farmers who receive subsidies…he looked at me like I just shot his dog and then proceeded to "explain" how the subsidies are different and that that type of welfare (though he wouldn’t call it that) is needed…Yeah right, I think it's just whose ox is being gored…There are not enough people with the courage of their convictions – too many feel they are owed someone else’s money whether they work hard (like famers) or not (like welfare recipients).
With such attitudes, I fear the republic is over and mob rule will take a firmer and firmer hold as time passes.
I agree with your assessment. Things do look grim. But I have faith in my fellow Americans. Not the kind clamoring for free hand outs, but rather the silent Americans who make up the vast majority of our nation. They don't make the news, the don't all pay attention to the news, pop culture, or even vote. They're busy making a living, raising their families, and supporting their communities.
I'm certain these people exist. From time to time they put down their lives, and band together to do great things. World War II comes to mind. So do both Reagan's land slides. The Church I attend has almost 2,000 families as parishioners, and that's a lot more clients that can be found at the welfare office. The media does not report on these people. As matter of fact, they have contempt for these people. Sarah Palin is a great example.
But we are out there. I have faith. I encourage you to have faith, and to work – in which ever way you can – to help right these wrongs.
There's a Catholic organization called the Christopher's. Their motto is rather than curse the darkness, light one candle.

Boy I hope you are right but I have my doubts, too many religious people vote on a single issue and others justify government spending as being Christ-like…I’ve heard it 1st hand…But if you're wrong I will take great pleasure (the only pleasure I’m afraid) in seeing the vacant expressions and abject devastation on the faces of all of those who thought the ONE was going to pay for their gas and mortgage and essentially be the 2nd coming. For them to get their dues will be most delicious. I WANT to be there to see it – just a little lemonade from the lemons that befell us.

I understand your doubts, that's why I said have faith.
They also had doubts at Lexington and Concord, Valley Forge, the burning of Washington in the war of 1812, Gettysburg, Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, Tet Offensive, Fallujah and many other events. But Americans rose to the occasion.
I'm of the opinion that Americans are a different breed of people. I don't mean genetically, I mean socially, our mind set. Americans love the old saying, 'give me your weak, your poor, your huddled masses,' but that's wrong.
To come to America, to fight all the rules and regulations, the barriers, to give up everything they had, and everything they knew, all for a chance for something better, to make something of themselves, to create a future. Cubans will brave 90 miles of shark infested waters, just for the chance to step on American soil. Mexicans will hike hundreds of miles through the deserts. They understand it, the promise this is America.
True Americans are not going to let government take that away from them. This isn't over by a long shot.
