Obama Takes Michelle Out For a Date and Us For a Ride
by Burt PrelutskyThe other day, I received an e-mail from a lady who let me know she was in the habit of forwarding my articles to her daughter who’s away at college. Apparently, she felt I could provide the young woman with an antidote to her left-wing professors. I wished her luck, but I didn’t hold out much hope. After all, by this time, the young coed has been immersed in public education for 13 or 14 years. Let a child be raised by wolves and you shouldn’t be too surprised if, upon being rescued, his table manners leave something to be desired.
I’m not engaging in hyperbole when I say that I’d sooner send a youngster to Florida during hurricane season than to most colleges. As I see it, he or she has a very good chance of surviving the hurricanes. Their hair might get mussed, but at least their brains wouldn’t be scrambled.
Frankly, I’m surprised that there are any young conservatives left in America. They deserve to be on the list of endangered species. Considering the amount of pressure they face from peers and professors, I am in awe of those with the gumption to stand their ground. If the nation’s Founding Fathers came back to life, I believe they’d recognize them as the progeny of those Americans they last saw hurling tea into Boston Harbor, fighting at Lexington and freezing at Valley Forge.
However, I also believe that after taking a good look at America today, they’d shake their heads and wonder how, after such a glorious beginning, we’d wound up in this pitiful condition. How did we go from George Washington to Barack Obama in, historically speaking, the blink of an eye; from the man who refused to be king to the man who would be czar?
Speaking of Obama, the White House is trying to convince us that the recent date night that took him and the missus to New York, along with his usual entourage, cost the taxpayers a mere $24,000. That’s supposed to be the total amount of the roundtrip flight, the two helicopter rides, the limo, dinner and the show. Fat chance. My brother-in-law in Michigan had a heart attack last year. His heart must be working just fine now because it didn’t stop when he got the bill for the 50-mile helicopter ride to the hospital. It was $12,000, and that was one-way, and without a squad of Secret Service agents riding shotgun.
I guess the good news for those of us who had to pay the freight is that Obama’s mother-in-law is still hanging around the White House, so he probably didn’t have to spring for a babysitter. But next time he and Michelle want to step out, I wish he’d just ask for the car keys and 20 bucks for burgers and a couple of cokes.
On a more serious front, I sincerely hope that when the president goes in for his annual check-up, the doctors at Bethesda will do a brain scan. Surely something must be terribly wrong with a man who seems to be far more concerned with a Jew building a house in Israel than with extremist-Muslims building a nuclear bomb in Iran.

Chalk up at least one conservative professor, albiet among the business faculty. By the time I get these students, they are pretty far gone.
Specific to the POTUS, the guy is simply an empty suit. Let them eat cake, and all.
Meet the new boss ……..
And then there are those $14,000. set of golf clubs recently delivered to Barack so he can continue to learn how to play golf. And Michelle's — my gosh — alligator-skin handbag for many thousands of dollars so she could look "outdoorsy" while walking around a lawn in Russia (but did she take along those $500. tennis shoes she wore to the D.C. food shelter, or buy more in Europe).
These clothing, sports items I just listed may be paid for out of "their" salary but the point of this is their lack of good taste and decency in light of their preaching and pawing over the public's thoughts, what we should be thinking, what we should not be thinking, followed by their lack of hesitation or even demurring as to committing us all to trillions of dollars of debt and several generations of hard labor to contend with it.
Those impetuous runs to the corner for, so Barack says, cheeseburgers and icecream on the public multi-thousands of dollars, too, really bother me, while the White House comes equipped with 24/7 chefs, butlers, servers, phone answerers, dish washers and a lot of grand atmosphere, Barack has to make his runs to the corner complete with massively expensive security and multi-caravan black SUVs, leaving the White House largesse to flounder (but still cost us).
Barack and Michelle Obama have no taste and no sense of consideration for others. They're simply hedonistic show people. I was actually surprised that Michelle didn't wear a giant headdress, stones on her ears and carry around a giant drum with feathers behind a big turtle shell shield just to walk on a Russian lawn. I mean, why not, she's worn just about everything else but that so far, and Barack has certainly ordered and eaten about the same.
The date nights (New York AND don't forget the run to Chicago, also at taxpayer expense) are in bad taste. As also all the rest..
As a recent graduate of the higher education system, I managed to retain my conservative ideals. I credit my parents who gave me a good, strong, conservative upbringing with an understanding of choice and consequences. Not to say some of the liberal agenda didn't wear offon me, but I think I managed to avoid the bulk of it. As I speak with friends from high school ( I grew up in a very conservative upper-middle class area), I am shocked to see how many of them have welcomed the liberal movement with open arms. In high school I was among the majority in my political thinking, but among my those same friends, I now in the minority. Inside the home is where children need to learn good political ideas. Can't leave the teaching of the next generation to the public schools. Young conservatives, endangered but not extinct.
History tells us that Good Things Don't Happen to Potentates who Say to The People…Let Them Eat Cake.
I also read that Michelle's mother, who lives at the White House (too) (as you made note of) (also on taxpayer expense) (I'm sure she's not doing her own housework and laundry there or making weekly runs to the grocery store in her own car with her own money), anyway, the MotherInLaw uses the Presidential Booth at the Kennedy Center for entertainment. When was SHE elected President? I guess I missed that, if she was…
Grew up Liberal and went to an uber Liberal college in the Midwest. I was entirely committed to my ideology and worldview.
Today I'm to the right of Attila along with Rush Limbaugh. If I can change, you can change!
Burt, thanks for a great article. 24K? cmon, I may have been born at night… but not last night right??? I think that was the price tag the NYPD got for directing traffic around to appease the Messiah and his wife for a DATE IN MANHATTAN….. srsly, we have been having nothing but financial hardship's in the US and this one goes out and has a dinner date with his wife? the only good thing I can say about this, thank god it was not a mistress.. just a joke. I hope that he can have what the WHITE HOUSE STAFF can offer him, becasue we may need another stimulus package and at that point another date may only cost the tax payers 2400.00 not 24K… hell if your going to lie to us please make it a GOOD ONE…
In fairness to Barack, I doubt he can do much about his mother in law without Michelle jumping down his throat about it. He's pretty much stuck with her.
"Frankly, I’m surprised that there are any young conservatives left in America"
You and me BOTH!
I'm surprised that obama didn't invite his brother and ILLEGAL aunt to come and live with him at the white house. What a bunch of freeloaders. Sense of entitlement anyone…
WHAT!!! Please tell me that $24,000 "date night" was not taxpayer funded. That's my annual salary, BEFORE the taxes are taken out to fund that.. that……(reduced to spluttering and fuming)
Signed,
poor young conservative
You know, the Mother-in-law actually doesn't bother me, as otherwise their children would probably have to have nannies and I just think it's better for them to have a familiar face in what is probably a pretty crazy world for them right now. That really doesn't seem like that big a deal to me, I know some may disagree and I understand that point of view as well.
The date nights, on the other hand? Seriously? Rent a movie like the rest of us! That is nuts.
Great read Burt! We must understand that the “Boy King” …needs his time out with the misses, and if it cost us a few thousand, well that’s just to damn bad. Hubris – hmmmm… maybe it’ll work for Barry?
Burt, your thoughts about the Isreal/Iran situation are spot on. There are no sane priorities, just continued assinity and absurd policy that threaten the existence of modern civilization. One well placed nuke could start the chain reaction. Meanwhile back in Congress, there is new legislation about naming Post Offices after those who still hold office. Now that's important stuff!

Get used to it, folks. No one is more endowed with a sense of entitlement than one with a false sense of victimhood. An ever-widening victim demographic of society has projected all of its outrageous fortunes–real and imagined– onto one man. Now that he is President, he is also King and Lord and Righteous Wrath-bringer, Equalizer, and Munificent Magi.
So I guess we'd best just shut up and take it, miserable rich Ameri-centric bullies that we are. We should be grateful he's left us a few crumbs for our sustenance and hasn't outright banned Conservatism as a hate crime.
“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” Winston Churchill
Gee, I wonder what the average age of all those liberals in the house and senate are? My guess? Over 40 yrs old. Once again the world can look to Winston Churchill for wisdom as to what is happening in DC (and Hollywood) at this time.
Oh great. What did I say to get comment moderation? Moi?
Tom, I have to ask you if you have ever heard of HONMA golf clubs or MARUMAN? there are different levels of stars with there clubs and yes, they can go well OVER 20K for a set of lcubs…. but with Obama, and Michelle there sets would have to add up very quick.. hell look at the SNEAKERS they wear!!!
Hell, the old bosses (even to some extent Clinton) valued freedom as the human condition. This jerk thinks freedom is the problem. It's more than a empty suit, he's a marxist. Pure and simple. I hope some blue dogs can see that before too long.
Love the second part of that quote, but I completely missed the not having a heart part. I was born conservative.
14k? That should include Tiger Woods to follow you around to critique each shot. Either that or those clubs are made of gold.
And considering the "let them eat cake" mentality of Obama and wife, I could see that happening.
The public secondary schools are worse.
He may be POTUS but he ain't the boss in that family
looks like the permanent place in history they so desired has manifested: America's Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
Well, that's just crazy talk, but yeah, if those clubs are out there with that price tag, those are the ones Obama would have to have.
I briefly checked out the Honma website ("call for price"), and the BERES MG703 looks pretty much like a Taylor Made knockoff.
I guess the people playing "Honmas" aren't showing up at my local muni track…
Oh great. What did I say to get comment moderation? Moi?
Me too.
And I was being ever so nice.
(I'm having nothing but trouble with "intensedebates" software over the last 4 weeks. I've even contacted support, so far…ZIP.
Not Over.
Not Over.
Me too.
I come from the Ghengis Khan wing myself…
I'm a St. Louis City resident and have found Vito's in Midtown, Joanie's in Soulard and Dewey's in Kirkwood to be a pretty good pizza. Roma Pizza in Bethalto, IL is good too. I really miss Shaky's pizza from way way back.
"Conservatism as a hate crime"
He will
But spending our money(tarp-stimulous) and shoving socialism down our throats he just has not had time.
He is your president,not mine
indeed, that gave me a Scanners moment too.
You must be the Devil himself

This correctly sums up Barack Obama and his policies. He might not be a Muslim, but he certainly has Muslim sympathies. He might not be a Marxist, but all his policies are. He might not be an anti-Semite but his treatment of Israel suggests it. He might not be an Afro-Centrist but he sat for twenty years listening to lectures (who can call them sermons) on Afro Centrism. He might not hate Europe for its colonialism of his father's people but he sure disses Europe every chance he gets. He might not hate democracy, but he's backed every dictatorship from Iran to Russia to Venezuela to Hondorus to…. fill in the blanks.
I just joined GooDDaDDy and got myself a must be approved message. I said nothing vulgar, nothing obscene, did not attack another poster. We need to figure out what key words get us flagged. Is it "anti-Semitism" which I used?
"Marxist"? Mention Reverend Wright? I did all of those.
Guess not.
I think a lot of kids maintain the values that were instilled by their values although the brainwashing is probably a lot more blatant today. It was credited to Churchill that "he who is not a liberal at 20 has no heart and he who is not a conservative by 40 has no brain."
I believe the problem with administrator moderation zapping is a technical glitch and not a problem with censorship. I have asked the BH staff to check it out.
it's not much better north of the border, though there is some sanity in a few small circles of people going to the top…
The mother living with them doesn't bother me either. A) Who wants to live with their mother in law B) without her they would need to hire a nanny czar.
Wasn't it Ann Coulter who said that public schools are the reproductive organs of the left?
As to colleges, why are taxpayer funds being used to support things like "women/minority" studies majors? These are essentially combo indoctrination centers and think tanks for the radical left. Until conservatives start addressing the child abuse being perpetrated on their children, things will invariably get worse, not better in this country.
Support the separation of school and state.
Um….. no, the finish on the clubs you can get 24K gold or platinum and whatever you would like…..mostly the owners are asian and well… they are a little extreme pricing wise….. but yeah, they look like knock offs!!!!
Pathetic. A new low for Prelutsky.
So let me get this straight:
Bush travels to Crawford 77 times and it's okay.
Obama travels to New York and it's a scandal.
That's all you got?
So, has PETA come out yet decrying her choice of a handbag?
what you are seeing is classic liberal entitlement at work…
If you listen closely to his supporters, you will hear classic lines loke 'we must submit to his rule'- this is now royalty and Their Decisions Are Not To Be Questioned. If the Lord and High Llama decides it's date night we surfs must bow and accede to the demands. The cost is irrelevant, you see. The days of humility in the White House (goodness, it was just a year ago wasn't it?) are now over.
And the higher education is now the higher inculcation as well…

Hey, there are college students capable of thinking for themselves! I didn't go to public school but I do go to a left-leaning university (heck, one of my classes was taught by a lawyer for the ACLU), but I haven't changed my mind about my mostly conservative political beliefs. I have been forced to think more deeply about why I believe the way I do, but that's not a bad thing. Sure, it bothers me when chemistry and biology professors spout off about how much they hate Bush in class (not exactly relevant to the material!), but all in all I'm getting a very good education, and I know to take what my professors say with a grain of salt. There is one professor in political science who is truly remarkable – neither identifiably liberal nor conservative, whose major concern nearly 2 years ago was the size of the national debt (I wonder what he thinks now!)
The definition of working vacation mustn't mean anything to you, huh?
*MissQuinn*
endowed?
"How did we go from George Washington to Barack Obama in, historically speaking, the blink of an eye; from the man who refused to be king to the man who would be czar?"
It is mind-boggling.
Excellent column.
Obamanation
"Black teens attack white family on 4th, shouting 'It's a black world'…"
"It came after a family night of celebrating America and freedom with a fireworks show at Firestone Stadium. Marshall, his family and two friends were gathered outside a friend's home in South Akron. Out of nowhere, the six were attacked by dozens of teenage boys, who shouted ''This is our world'' and ''This is a black world'' as they confronted Marshall and his family. "

Obama has taken race relations back 50 years
Are you people serious? How much did the American taxpayer spend ferrying Bush & family back and forth from Crawford all those years? He made 77 trips there in 8 years, for a total of 490 days spent on vacation in TX.
Rent a movie like the rest of us!
I seriously doubt that he needs to rent anything. Hollywood is probably happy to give him copies of all of the movies that are made. Sounds like a much cheeper date to me. Fir food, call Dominoes. They deliver.
She wants the cake and EAT IT TO!!!!
I wonder what the average age of all those liberals in the house and senate are?
Physically or Mentally?
Not my President. He has yet to represent me on any vital issue of State, Law, or Economy.
Heh.
Miles, I know you aren't very good at math, 490 days in 8 years makes 61 days a year, two months in Crawford. Don't lie by making stuff up,
First Mother-in-Law?
What was the cost of all those vacations to Crawford, Texas?
Compare the cost of disrupting the tiny town of Crawford to the cost of disrupting cities like New York, Washington DC, Chicago and Moscow all of which BO has disprupted to go out on the town for high priced dinners and entertainment events. Not to mention, when Bush was on his ranch in Crawford, vacation activities consisted of things like mending fences. BO's entertainment consists of things like attending Broadway shows and eating at 5-star restaurants – spare no expense. Now, if BO continues at his present rate of entertainment at popular upscale night spots, you tell me which of the two will end up costing tax payers more if we go a full 8 years with each.

Good god, Michelle Obama has an ugly back.
Er, Crawford is GWB's, like, home.
the front ain't so hot either.
Then according to Churchill, I was born heartless.
I thought the same thing! But then it is "Queen Michelle" we're talking about……..and alligators aren't all that warm and cuddley……………I suspect Michelle could wear a coat made out of freshly "clubbed" seals and a hat made from a Bald Eagle and she's still get a pass from the serf's…….
Same here. Grew up in the liberal conclave of MA and moved to CT after I got married. Stayed a liberal until 2001 – events of 9/11 made me grow up at the ripe old age of 38. Now I consider myself a conservative trapped in the New England liberal wasteland.
Like you, if I can change – anyone can.
Does the President of the U.S. actually get a vacation? No he does not. Classifying Bush's trips back to his HOME as vacations – when the press flies with him and sets up shop – is disingenuous. Once at the house in Crawford – they stayed put. No glamorous flights for "date nights". I have no problem with my President taking time to spend with his family and his private residence and my tax dollars paying for it. I do have a problem with my President taking his wife on special date nights and taking his kids on shopping sprees to Paris and London, all on my dime (or should I say dollar, you know inflation and all).
Don't forget shoes made from manatee leather
good to see the DNC talking points repaeted yet again (see the Oily one..)
good to see the DNC talking points repeated yet again (see the Oily one..)
Not that we coastal elites don't appreciate your due consideration for the disruption of daily life in our city, but when the president comes to town isn't it expected that there will be heightened security? His visit was no more disruptive than the seemingly countless summer street fairs, movie crews, and construction projects that routinely shut down streets in Manhattan.
Really these complaints are trivial and stupid, though, and I thought they were pretty stupid when people made them about Bush's travel expenses. When you're the effing president, you get some perks that go along with the job. SHOCKER.
Yeah that whole thing is pretty obviously Obama's fault. Good job!
LOL
I very much agree. I grew up in a more liberal area and would run home and tell my parents what I learned, even through college, only to have them both analyze what I had learned and encouraged me to think outside of what I was taught in school and to question everything I was taught, even from them. If it weren't for my parents, I would ended up a raging liberal. It is so sad that there is only one kind of thought taught in public schools. Even college doesn't get much better, though I think it depends on what you're studying.
10 yrs ago, my plan was that my two kids, (age 19 and 21), would attend a nice college. After dealing with middle school, and the first year of high school, I decided to yank my kids and send them to private school. My daughter is married, going to school to be a dental hyg/trains at Gold's Gym. My son, who hates school, is an asst mgr at Pappa Johns. Not high paying or glamorous jobs, but they both have something in common. They each have young ppl from good colleges that couldn't find a job in this market working under them. Will this always be so? No, but when is it going to change? Doesn't look like anytime soon, and in the meantime my kids are learning about the real world, real responsibilities. I hope my son decides to go to a tech school. That way he actually may be needed in the future.
especially the face—looks like she bites!
So happy to see taxpayer dimes paying for Michelle Obama, her mother, and the 2 girls to vacation in France and London. Now they are off an a field trip to Russia and Italy. Places I will never be able to afford to vacation with my family. Shameful. I have no doubt these entitled few, along with Princess Caroline maybe, were in the Air Force One plane scaring NYC in the fly by terrorist skies.
Right there with you. I had uber-liberal parents on top of a liberal "education," now I'm as conservative as Palin. There's hope for us all.
Oh, and in reference to my other post, my kids have their own places. They don't mooch off of mom and dad, don't want to. I remember when everyone didn't go to big universities, and I think maybe that is something that needs to be brought back. We need HVAC ppl. We need contractors. We need electricians and caterers. Those ppl are going to disappear if we don't realize that we need a balance and that everyone wasn't meant to be a college graduate.
Logic, common sense, truth, honesty– none of that means much to him.
Difference being that taxpayers pay for the presidential disruptions rather than private industry.
And don't think I was displaying empathy with the citizenry so much as pointing out that re-routing on the scale it takes to re-route everything in a major city by the time you consider manpower and everything else is many times more expensive than it is for the re-routing of a small town. How much does it cost to rent a 5-star restaurant? How much to arrange for a private showing at a Broadway Theatre or at least ensure enough security for the President? How much to get enough traffic cops to re-route Manhattan traffic? How much to re-route air traffic and ensure on the ground security at the airport? The list goes one. That's all much, much simpler and less costly at a place the size and scale of Crawford.
Much less than the cost of spending the equivalent amount of time in New York, London, or Paris staying in 5-star hotels and eating at 5-star restaurants the way the Obamas seem prone to.
So if it isn't Bush's fault, then go to tactic #2 and declare that Bush was also AT fault.
Nice try.
Miles, don't expect consistency from the breitbots. They believe in preferential treatment for republican presidents.
me too.
Oh come on, do you realize how much that large a piece of plate tool steel costs? And how hard it is to get decent lumber long enough for the vertical pieces to be one piece? I would have to splice some sticks together, machine the initial bevel on the steel to keep it straight… Perhaps my heat treat furnace is big enough, it could possibly hold a machete or two, and quenching something that big is a pain…
Alright, I will start work on the plans. But I do not want to do all that work simply for only two uses, surely you can find some more "candidates" in DC who are deserving. And you bring the baskets!
My daughter has just finished eleventh grade at a private parochial school! The heathens in the public school system have never had a chance to sink their fangs in her.
Colleges and universities most certainly hot beds of vile, anti-American, modern liberalism, but there are good points to them still. I majored in engineering and I can assure you, once you get out of the liberal arts and into science and technology, those students are far too busy with math and science to even pay attention to the left wing nuts on campus. We were so busy the only thing we had time for after studying was getting drunk and chasing women.
Mmmm…..Manatee! Taste's like chicken………
Okay, forget the math in terms of number of trips… just for a moment.
example 1: President Bush takes family to the _Family_ ranch in Crawford for a few days…
example 2: President Obama takes wife to a busy part of NYC for one night… forcing entire streets to basically close off and shut down.
Which one in terms of travel expenses is more expensive for an entire trip in terms of per day costs?
Let's not forget the story (found on Hot Air) stating that one of Moscow's most elite dining restaraunts/hotels was commandeered by PBHO, forcing EVERYONE else out of the building… how much did that cost the Muscovites in terms of income?
I have no problem with President OBama going on these junkets.. but use some common sense when you do it. You're the president of the united states, the economic news is _horrible_ and you're out on the town adding VERY little (if anything) to the local economy.
She is taller than him, looks like she might be stronger too. I wonder what he thinks when she calls him "my little man" at night?
someone suggested Vito's, aqua.. haven't tried it yet… I've been told I would have loved Shaky's though… but we'll see
Anything's possible. Your scenario is not probable, nor is your experience common.
Best odds: homeschool.
Will make a list. Oh, and I'll have one of our construction crews gather up the baskets.
mmmmm Kentucky Fried Manatee… homer drools
Everything the president does is taxpayer funded. I don't love it, but I can't begrudge what the pres gets…Bush flew to Texas all the time, Clinton went to Camp David–it's what they do, and it's what's required. And it all costs money. Look at it this way: the hardworking New York cops surely needed the overtime in these rough days. As for the cost…well, hospitals charge $20 for a Tylenol…I suspect your brother's helicopter ride was similarly inflated. Glad he's ok, tho.
As many have learned, there is what college teaches you, then there is what you have to know to survive and prosper in the real world.
Forget college, send your kid to a trade school if you want them to have a long and profitable career, toss in business classes as they will have a good shoot at having their own company is they are any good at all. They may not wind up as Bill Gates, but I doubt Bill haggles with his architect or plumber and pays whatever they want.
The Secret Service might complain about food they did not directly see get prepared, it is their job to see he does not get poisoned. They would have to invite official Food Tester Biden. (And people think he has no purpose, go figure.)
Dig the troll talking points, myrmidons and there devoted love of Barry!
One word folks: HOMESCHOOL!!!
I home school – I was raised ina conservative household, and the school I went to was known as one of the best school districts – we had liberals among us, but they were the minority. Reagan was a big hero for a lot of us. Fast forward 20 yrs and Im telling my husband there is NO WAY I am putting our one and only daughter in the hands of the retrobates that run the same school that had a distinctly honorable reputation in the area. Why? Because of how the leftist marxists have taken over the schools and turned them into asylums. And reports we got out of the school as to what happened there on a practically daily basis confirmed my stance. So Ive been homeschool
The leftists have destroyed the public school system. I dont care what tests they run or what kinds of things they buy to make the school more palatable to people. It is rotten and stench-filled to the core. They can take my tax money if they really want it but they wont have my daughter.
I have watched.
I have recorded
I will teach
and there's nothing they can do about it.
I found this on this site (follow Blog link), you have likely never heard of this guy's site since he does several unabashedly conservative webcomics thus he gets little notice. He posted it as arriving in his email, my apologies if you have seen it circulating elsewhere.
I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be president some day.
Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were president what would be the first thing you would do?"
She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."
Her parents beamed.
"Wow… what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're president to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50, you earned, to use toward food and a new house."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.
Yeah, and who let the slaves go?? And why on earth are women voting??? ;-D
Dooney: "I was actually surprised that Michelle didn't wear a giant headdress, stones on her ears and carry around a giant drum with feathers behind a big turtle shell shield just to walk on a Russian lawn. I mean, why not, she's worn just about everything else but that so far, and Barack has certainly ordered and eaten about the same."
If Michelle did wear that getup, the media and fashion editors would crown her cheif goddess of the fashion maven world. And eventually, everyone who follows fashion dictates would be wearing knock-offs.
Personally, I don't look too bad wearing feathers.
Wow. It's "reprobates" with a "p." "I've," "don't," & "won't" have apostrophes. You're missing a period at the end of your first paragraph…I'm gonna have to worry a little about your homeschooling techniques. Nice haiku-esque poem at the end, though.
OMG I got DV'd for ROFLing, WTFBBQ?!
You are all so confused – He's one of US! A man of the people! And Michelle – just another mom dealing with a hectic schedule and her husbands oh-so-demanding job. They need more nights out like that. Seriously, she needs to show off her new clutch, at $5900 it DESERVES to be shown off! When you see them strolling hand-in-hand to Marine One, don't you feel a wee bit closer to them?
Oh Goody! Now he can give away free copies of Hollywood movies to all the new dignitaries and other notables that he bows to.
Why would any POTUS spend $900,000 to keep secret public records of his life? Why would the POTUS avoid Kenya while visiting Africa? Why are 2 different hospitals listed in Snopes as possible place of B.O.'s birth? Do liberals really know how close to facism they really are? How inept is the Federal government in managing itself while they insist on managing what should be left to the states. Do we really need the Dept of Ed to be a union headquaters? It should be time to sunset some of these cancerous appendages.
Do they have that getup in an extra large? I would love to wear that at work next Monday.
"Obama Takes Michelle Out For a Date and Us For a Ride"
America was taken for a ride the moment Obama was elected!
well, that and no one wants to assasinate BO for fear of putting Biden in his place.
I can attest to the fact that there are few young conservatives left. I'm a college student, a staunch conservative, and have had virtually zero luck in finding like-minded people. Even in Nebraska, of all places! And to make matters worse, I'm a political science major. Now granted, I've realized that a lot of the self-proclaimed "liberals" among my peers have very little idea of what they're talking about. It's the "hip" thing right now; they're in college and must be "open-minded," and to them that equals liberalism.
I'm pretty sure in a couple years, however, when they enter the real world, they'll start to realize a few things…"HOW much are they taking for taxes?!"
No, I am. But only on weekends. It's a part time gig.
did you say Pelosi? I think that leaves a bad taste in the auto filters.
and who the hell is this Chad and how the hell did he get pregnant?

Are you familiar with this company? A true American success story, I first heard of them years ago when they were starting out, contractors and other outside workers loved their products. Check out their site for better pics, link at the bottom of course.
hell, let's stick with #1. Obama and company blowing loads of money to jaunt anywhere he wants for frivolous reasons is also Bush's fault.
out of the mouths of babes indeed.
AWESOME! Actually I toured a kilt shop when I was in Jedburgh, Scotland a few months back. Was very very tempted.
It can be a word or a word with that letter combination in it somewhere.
Trigger words I have found, posted by changing a single letter into italics:
Jew and anything containing it like jewelry
Fag (British slang for cigarette) and faggot (bundle of sticks)
Breitbart

Bitch, which it did not let me post but the unregistered person I replied to had used it.
Oh, and it does not like that misspelling of that African country where you use two "gees" instead of one. I just tested it to make sure, and yes the system wants that word spelled correctly.
Anybody else want to mention any they found?
Actually, manatee tastes more like Spotted Owl, but not as gamey as Giant Panda
We have enough people sending themselves to Hell, guess there just is not enough work coaxing a few more in.

Miles your missing the point. I myself have personally witnessed "People of Color" go into foam spitting rages when they felt they had been slighted. In each one of these cases a similar thread appeared. All used something similar to "We put a black man in the White House and you white people (variations of "Cracker" where actually used) still haven't changed". While the wording changed in each instance, the victim of this verbal attack was always the same, a caucasian male.
Black people I have known for decades now become belligerent when I crticize Obama in any way. ThinkRight is pointing out what I have been saying since Obama was elected. White people where ready for a black president but a large number of blacks were not!
So yes it is indirectly Obama's fault…………………….
Go green, support natural air conditioning. Well, that is what you can tell people at least.
Oh, Buy American!
So true. I hate the tripe about "everyone deserves a college education." Some clearly don't and can make it just fine. When we push people into college who aren't ready for college we get
A) Spending thousands of dollars or getting into debt for aimless liberal arts classes and bad grades and eventually they'll stop going to school after a few years, (but its a few years they could have spent doing something more meaningful).
or B) After six years, a pointless liberal arts degree that now qualifies the graduate for NO JOB in the real world.
I say that as a BA recipient myself. Though I did know, thankfully, what I was getting myself into: to law school I go (someday).
Oh, how-about the eldest daughter Malia's, peace-sign ensemble of t-shirts, sported for a tour of Rome, faw-out-maaannn. Also with all this sight-seeing it's no wonder we're going broke, peace…

I am so glad the DTV transition is over, I long ago lost track of how often I explained to my mother how to flip between the digital and analog tuners. We also lost the NBC station and CBS is spotty, so no noticeable loss there. I am still however having to inform her she can turn the TV off and it will not interfere with the DVD recording.
No, we are never getting cable or a dish. You do not want to see her try to keep track of 100+ channels, trust me.
Filter alert: It does not like "analog" because of the first four letters. Sheesh.
Pretty darn close, although not as tasty as Whooping Crane or Ridley's Turtle steak

Burt inadvertantly proved that Obama and his clan are not socialists. Socialists require a uniform (re: Jong, Jintao, Castro, etc.). Socialists do not enjoy expensive "date nights" to other cities, $500 sneakers and gazillion dollar cadillacs. Obamas are nothing more than lottery winners. It's quickly becoming apparent that the Chosen One's Hope & Change rhetoric was meant just for him.
We simply must take back the House in 2010. I find it deplorable we have to work through at least three of them to get someone who might be sensible back in the White House.
Provided the DVD's are for the wrong Region, to be consistent.
Well those bony features are pronounced on Klingons.
If I am not mistake they are already calling her a fashion icon so the crowning has already been done I guess.
Yep, as long as you season it with saffron.
Yes, we believe Republican presidents should preferentially receive respectful consideration from liberals at least equal to that given by them to Democratic presidents. As a liberal you should understand Affirmative Action-speak enough to realize this makes perfect sense.
And yet liberals were stirring up popular outrage against the perks of corporate executives…
I guess it makes a difference if those greedy rich shareholders pay for perks instead of everyone who sends money into the federal coffers. Yup, protect the greedy rich shareholders from excesses, taxpayers can fend for themselves. Liberal dogma makes more sense every day.

So true about the Blue Dogs. I'd be targeting these supposed moderats that Rahm recruited to swing the house so far to the left. I know Rahm will cuss them out and maybe ballet kick them, but they have constituents to answer to, all over the Rust Belt and Mid-South. Ohio is already flipped back polling wise to an Obama negative, NOW, before "cap and tax" and before Obama socializes the health care system is the time to reach these congressional criminals/representatives.

I'm a 40 something reurnee finishing my degree and will start grad school in the spring. I'm a conservative and I CHALLENGE the professors to mess with me. Surprisingly they haven't very much…I shut one down in the middle of praising Hamas and the Palestinians and advocating higher taxes as a "fix" for ailes the U.S.A., but haven't had "to go there" very much. Pleasantly I took a public policy Poly sci class, went in, sat down and found I was sitting with a WHOLE NEST of young conservatives. Out and out right wingers! We gave that poly sci Proff HELL! He was good natured about it and we all did well and got the grades we earned and deserved. You are correct, political bent as supplied by the conventional educational system is the recipe for leftist, marxist brain washing…that's what the "climate change" movement is all about, palatible socialism.

I think a lot of kids maintain the values that were instilled by their parents although the brainwashing is probably a lot more blatant today. It was credited to Churchill that "he who is not a liberal at 20 has no heart and he who is not a conservative by 40 has no brain."
I believe the problem with administrator moderation zapping is a technical glitch and not a problem with censorship. I have asked the BH staff to check it out. p.s. apologies to Nola – somehow missed that you had already covered the great line credited to Churchill
My husband and I are the parents of 7 children, 6 still at home. This summer they are reading the darndest things. The older four, ages 22 – 15, the older two are going to a local college, are sharing, Commen Sense and An Inconvenient Book by Glenn Beck. Alas Babylon, 5000 Year Leap, Liberal Fascism, and Liberty and Tyranny. Even the high schoolers. Why? Because they are being challenged!! Not only the ideas but also the vocabulary. I had to go and buy pocket dictionary so they read away from home. They can hardly wait to get back to school. They now have the answers to when someone tells them "SHUT UP" Thank you Andrew Klavan. One of our favorite videos.
A Conservative is Born.
At 20 I listened to John Lennon's "Imagine" and thought…gee, wouldn't that be great.
Then as I grew up, I realized that "Imagine" was actually the Communist Manifesto put to music. Then I took a look at the statistics that showed that as many as 250 Million people have been killed in the name of Communism over the last century. (google "Communist Democide 1900 to 1987" if you don't believe me)
Yeah, I am pretty sure this is not what Lennon had in mind.
Sorry Darkwolf- I slipped there. Deep down, I know it's all Bush's fault- sometimes I just fail to grasp reality. *sigh* Bad Bush! Bad!

What nannies? Those children have their very own Secret Service details, custom matched to make the security easier for the children to bear.
Want to slow that "save the world" fever just a bit? When it's time to go shopping for school clothes and shoes, offer to buy something that costs 1/2 as much as what they want, so you can buy 2 of them and send the other set to some poor child in Africa. At suppertime, give them 1/2 a plate of food and offer to send the other 1/2 to some starving, fly-covered 3rd world kid. Be sure to get your best stop watch, so you can time their sudden change of heart (I suggest that you get one that measures microseconds…should take about 2 of them).
You really had the time to find out how many times Pres Bush went to Crawford? Shame on you. With that much free time, you should have been doing volunteer work for the poor. Or even better, maybe you could have been raising $$$ for the NEXT most expensive presidential campaign in the history of this nation, Barry Soetoro's re-election campaign.
Cute!
What is the Czar count -23 or 33?
"Vacation", in the case of Pres Bush going to Crawford, is relative. Everything the Pres needed to continue governing the country was right there at his ranch, installed the day after he was elected. Everything the current occupants of the White House could possibly dream of to entertain themselves is accessable, right there IN the White House. If live entertainment is what they wanted, I'm sure it can be found right there in DC. If Pres Obama wanted to treat his wife to dinner and a show in NYC, surely they could have waited until they were going to be there anyway. If there is one thing that this man should knoweverything about, it is that appearances are reality.
Question- Oily—How many times did Bush fly to Crawford for a date night, and fly back to DC just hours later?
Right! When he went to Texas he staid for a much loner period of time. Many times he entertained Foreign Officials–ya know–work.
Good for you-resistance at work.
takes a mature mind.

Actually for electricians and plumbers and a bunch of similar trades, we need college-grade people, and yes you can and do go to college for it. There are building codes to know, math to get done, and the complexity and number of things to keep track of continues to grow. While there are some trade schools that give out certificates, there are many full-accredited colleges awarding degrees like associates and bachelors, for some things even masters at the top of the fields. Granted at these colleges you will likely not get much if any of the "sensitive" stuff like music and art appreciation and environmental indoctrination, but you will get a solid and practical understanding of your field with lots of hands-on experience. For something like machining, if you do not want to be a glorified machine operator then you will be going to school, there are too many methods and machines these days to properly learn the trade otherwise. And as for just about everything today, yes you will be learning about computers.
They need people who are meant to be college graduates. For those who are not, well, perhaps they could be used for general labor, but I hear McDonald's is hiring.
—
Stupid automatic filtering alert: It does not like "math." Who the heck programmed this?
So if it isn't Bush's fault, then go to tactic #2 and declare that Bush was also AT fault.
But never, ever, declare that Obama can do wrong.
Nice try.
He promised his wife he would take her to NYC for dinner and a show. Great he won on November 8th 2008.' So he had over two months to fulfill that promise before taking office and making it a big drama.
That is new, I have used it before. "Dick" ("c" in italics) works.
Oh, just found out "math" is rejected. And we are to assume real computer programmers wrote this? Programmers who hate math?
That's wild- guess we'll have to say "arithmetic" from now on.
I'll try the italics next time- thanks.
Good for you, you made me smile.
Zero population growth has run it's course.
I'm 19, so I'll tell you why there's so few young conservatives: we're in the generation of the Fake Liberal News program (Daily Show, Colbert) and that appeals to people my age. We're impressionable to begin with at this age, and when you start to pump this hip anti-conservative crap into our heads (yes, I used to like Stewart when I was like 14) we take it at face value.
So what teens get from these shows are:
conservative = evil, stupid.
liberal = smart, kind.
Then they take that muddled rationale into their 20s and people wonder why very little respectful discourse can take place nowadays.
The antidote for me was simple: read books. Lots of them. That developed my conservative/libertarian political stance.
This is a great quote, but as I learned from doing some research on Churchill, it cannot be attributed to him. The actual source of the quote is not known. Just FYI.
Parental boast moment: My 24 yr old daughter may very well be an endangered species, like you mentioned. Her most painful (aside from possibly a few hangovers) time in college was the required freshman credit in diversity training. So painful, she looks confused when I remind her of her the hours we spent on the phone just after her escape from attempted indoctrination in the fall of 03. Like a traumatic event, she has little memory. She remembers very clearly a conversation we had soon after where she said she was there to get her degree, and she would apply herself to do just that in four years so she could get to the next rung in her personal ladder. She did. I raised her myself, just me, her, and our steady choc lab. She's lived through a few hurricanes, too.
To add to the boast…I'm a mother, alright?!!
Her Sr year in high school, she decided to apply to two schools, one in Texas, and the other, Brown. She was rejected the first time by Brown, and shrugged…rather have a beer by the river in her off time, than be the token conservative at Brown. A family member called and said, resubmit to Brown..,you'll be in. She said no. She recently married an older Aggie alum, engineer, and has taught him the ways of the world, so now there are two endangered species…strength in numbers.
Update:
Anal is bad, so you cannot use analog or analogy or analogous, etc, and it will reject banal, banality, etc, any word with those four letters.
Its hard to raise a child with all the liberal agendas pumped into them. They come home worried sick about the environment, animals dying out, and people starving everywhere. Yet, if you asked them to compare their situation in the US versus other countries, they wouldn't be able to tell you if they have it any better. They are being beaten down with the "shame on us" attitude of liberalism that we should be fixing the world, and we are an evil nation for not doing enough.
As for the Obama expenses, I see that he leads by example when the economy has fallen under difficult times. Oh wait, that's the typical "Do as I say, and not as I do." example.
First of all, Obama didn’t do anything wrong by going to New York and won’t get in trouble for it. His only punishment is a small group of unhappy extremists talk bad about him on the internet. Then there’s Bush who wasted a lot of money and resources going back and forth to Texas to whack brush. The unhappy extremists consider that an entirely different sort of unnecessary spending. Heck, he was on vacation when the memo warning of hijackers was circulated in the Summer of 2001. He didn’t even bother tightening airport security, until 9/12 that is. Every mistake that administration did gets a pass by those same unhappy extremists who still can’t see that the golden age of Conservatives being taken seriously by the American people is over forever.
Lots of Vito lovers out there! It's nearby the Fox and SLU. I guess I'm dating myself with Shaky's but a great childhood memory:)
I also doubted that attribution since the political systems are flipped between the US and England, as I learned debating people from there on the internet several years back. Historically they had a large controlling government while we started with a small government, so for them a "liberal" wants a smaller less-intrusive government while a "conservative" does not. Since then things may have become more "Americanized" in language, especially on the internet, but that certainly was not true in Churchill's time.
That you even considered the part at the bottom was in something like a haiku format says volumes about your own education. So, did you buy that glass house you live in as an environmental statement? Mr. Igneous would like to know.
Ha! Another Shaky's lover!!! I had no idea they were still around in the 21st century. It was great stuff. Funny you should mention Italy. I went in 2007, starting in Rome and ventured up through Tuscany/Chianti wine country. You are so right about the pizza. It was good but definitely not what we are used to here. I guess my expectations were pretty high but it seemed more functional than decadent. Lots of grabbing a slice and walking. The wine though……couldn't get enough of that!
And $24,000 was just the meal! What did Air Force I and all the limos and security cost? Not to mention what it cost N.Y.
Dear God, people still read Alas, Babylon these days? That was required reading back in high school, I loved that book so much somehow I, um, acquired one of the dog-eared school copies someone had carelessly discarded on the "lost and found" school book table at the end of the year. I had to have one, it was so dog gone informative and thoughtful. Wow, Amazon has it, new. Back then the new Waldenbooks at the mall was it, and pricey for ordering books in, if they could get it. The copies we had were so old I was certain it was out of print.
You have excellent taste in classic literature.
Good for her! (And good job, Mom!)
My oldest is going to college next year. Kinda scary. He had Ivy League offers, too, although in his case it wasn't because his record was in the Ivy League ballpark like your daughter's. He just has a Hispanic surname and the right 'blood.' UGH.
He decided to go to a small, very good (but not super-prestigious) school that he actually is qualified for.
"I don't want to be treated like a remedial case or a freak," he said.
The college he's going to is saner than the elite schools, but I'm sure they'll still have the 'diversity training' stuff. I don't think he'll like it any more than your daughter did!
Well so many of us have tried to do so for so long, it is good when one of us can for at least some things. I buy crinkle-cut fries at the store simply to avoid "that word." Please do not ask about the canned green beans.
Crawford really was a branch office of the White House. And the air was far clearer and less stuffy.

Pentacle, pentagram, swastika, even hammer and sickle it will take, cross it does not. Nor does it take Jew. Okay, who programmed this monstrosity with an irritating dislike for certain Judeo-Christian words and symbols?
You seem to have missed the news that the Crawford ranch was done over by the security and technology people, plus all the dignitaries that visited and all the work that was done there with so many of his cabinet and staff on hand. When Bush went to Crawford he was switching offices, and cutting brush was done instead of DC "leisure activities" like biking. That is a far cry from quick trips to Chicago and NYC just for fun.

I used none of the triggers listed above. No stars or asterisks which the filter might believe I stuck in there so as not to get picked up for vulgarity. I have absolutely no clue. We should all keep a list of words we THINK might trigger the "moderation" filter and pass them around. I'm on board with vulgarity and attacking other posters and using defamatory words about anyone (since this is a conservative site, I suspect we can't defame Palin although she seems to be the only human being on the planet that is fair game to all but us). Anyway, this a good site with lots of smart, interesting opinions — I am surprised they censor thought and opinion, but if so, we at least ought to know it and not waste our time.

2010 is the first step. If we take it back well enough, we just might be able to begin reversing alot of the damage that's been done.
Reality? indeed, we all live in our fantasy lands, allowing the government to provide for us and our families. Oh wait, I forgot, thats what the left has planned for us.
we could always go even cheaper though and just stick with a trusy axe.

In the UK there is less difference between the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party vs. The Labour Party.
The Labour Party is the party of Big Gov't in England. In fact, there are quite a few Labour Party activists who are card carrying members of the Communist Party–ex Mayor Ken Livingstone being one of them.
The Conservative Party presents itself a lot like the Republican Party and advocates fiscal responsibility and a less intrusive gov't whereas the Liberal Party is much more of a Libertarian nature and would probably advocate no gov't if given the chance.
golf-Hawaii
One, the system is dirt simple. it goes through a post character by character looking for strings of characters, so asterisks do not matter. I would not be surprised to learn it merely uses brute force by searching for each word on the list using a canned function, like you can with a word processor with the "whole word" option off. While it may catch dirt-level morons who simply string together bad words without spaces, it also catches too many valid words.
For example, it objects to "cross" which also grabs words like across and crosswise.
Two, given that it does not like "inflammatory" words like fag and that misspelling of the African country, and also does not like Jew and cross, I suspect the list was done up by someone who leans liberal with a thing against "organized religion" namely Judeo-Christian. It likely is a stock list that those who use ID on their site have no control over. So this being a "conservative site" means nothing, and the "censoring" is out of the hands of Breitbart and Nolte. Heck, you cannot even use the name of Breitbart, a known conservative. You can defame Palin as much as you want, and I have seen some rather offensive things. Which leads to…
Three, apparently the only form of "censoring" of "thought and opinion" around here is user-driven, as in the Report button. Unless there are admins actively reading all of the posts to catch offensive material, which I really doubt, that is it.
Much of the "stimulus package" is set to be released in time to help the Presidential re-election. Which means much of it could be canceled with enough votes to override the expected veto.
Although, given the "great success" of the current releases, I doubt it would be much of a help anyway and he may succumb to the cries to "Save the money!" just to save face.
My conscience tells me I should butt out and let the Righties have their fun but I feel it is my duty to stand by my President. He took his ‘ugly’ wife to New York City. He wanted to fly commercial but it was against policy. You can’t fault him for what he did unless you want to also bash President and Mrs. Reagan for very serious spending. The Carters were known for setting the example of resisting extravagance, so does that make him praiseworthy? Perhaps nit-picking is therapeutic to sooth lingering insignificance.
Ah so! I'll remember that. Watch this…..J ew.
Bush worked. Crawford isn't a vacation site. Obama is the LAZIEST POTUS EVER! He's taking this whole "being the president thing" casually. People are noticing, and you LIBERALS are whining!!!!
He can say he wanted to fly commercial, but he well knows the realities of the job and the security so it is meaningless PR fluff. He might as well say he would have rather walked.
The example of "lavish spending" by the Reagan's that I remember as most criticized by the Democrats was the new dinnerware. But at the time the White House was down to some mismatched sets, and we hardly look like a "proud and prosperous nation" when they cannot hold a state dinner with everything the same pattern. Mrs. Reagan well understood her duties as "Hostess in Chief" and got new ones, as well as some more "sprucing up" of the place. The proper entertaining of guests in comfortable yet elegant surroundings should not be criticized when it is effectively the United States herself doing the hosting.
I have seen it before, and it looks almost as ridiculous as "juwe" to be honest. Just put the "e" in italics which will hardly be noticed. It still remains an effective way of ending a Prohibition to keep showing how pathetically easy it is to get around it.
when it is required that welfare recipients get their, tubes tied after 3 babies from dead-beat-absent dads, when that becomes mandatory- before you are allowed more and more welfare, WIC, food stamps, housing assistance, etc, etc, etc, -then and only then can the liberals talk to the rest of this country about controlling population growth by limiting the size of the families they alone support.
Yep, read it just the other day, Obama received the delivery of a set of new, fancy golf clubs that cost $14,000.00. No word on who paid for it, probably more out of that 'salary' of his.
What about a less expensive pair of clubs would not function as well especially for someone "just learning" golf as is Barack Obama? When your ego is the thing and nothing else is the thing, then only a $14,000. set of golf clubs will do.
She'd wear the too many feathers to visit people undergoing chemotherapy, or feathers of the American Bald Eagle to a military funeral, or one giant feather to visit nuns or Buddhist monks, things like that. The telling point about who Michelle Obama is was on some talk show or another (undoubtedly, The View, the foaming of egomania-with-not-enough-estrogen and too much bull-turkey), when someone raised concerns about the Bush stimulus, that taxpayers would be getting, on average, a "six hundred dollar check," and Michelle Obama COMPLAINED, with condescension laced with resentment, "well, THAT's (not even/barely/not) enough to buy yourself a pair of earrings".
In Michelle's bad taste files, $600. tax free from the general public taxpayer pool is resentfully not up to snuff because it'd 'only' make it possible to buy a few diamonds instead of the Star Saffire. I exaggerate here to make the point, but the response and paraphrased quote from Michelle's bad taste files is actual. She couldn't be grateful and truly humble if it cost her her overburdened White House gardeners — she'd complain that they just didn't like carrots or kale and that's why they didn't weed enough, meanwhile, she'd have five as many doing the same job so she could hurry up and get her photo taken (again) with "just the right" color of children involved.
It's not the feathers I make note of but Michelle Obama's bad taste with just about every item she applies to herself (read other comments I just posted but the commenting system wouldn't publish them in response to yours for some unknown reason). Plus, I like feathers and I like kilts. I don't mind quirky clothing, I just don't care for egotistical, gauche taste. There's a place for making fun of oneself that isn't gauche, then there's gauche that can't stand self-ridicule: that latter part describes Michelle Obama, who appears to drape herself for purposes of demanding she "be seen" (which is gauche).
Throw in a wolf teeshirt and you'll be neat.
Because the motherinlaw now resides IN the White House, she's being served (at taxpayer expense) Secret Service detail, transportation, food, food/housing/clothing services, all the medical and dental care she can tolerate in the basement if not by doctors on "her floor" (go ahead and call a doctor or dentist and ask them to come round before dinner so you can get your palpatations looked at, see what he/she/they say), she's using the third floor of the White House at that…
I DO mind the mohterinlaw in the White House because it indicates a lack of respect FOR the White House by the Obamas.
It is an overly hyperactive system. About that, I agree. One has to learn how to intentionally misspell certain words (and actually limit the count of such, which is absurd to be told your comments are "too l ong" when they're three paragraphs of four lines each) inorder to get past the queue. I respect their goals in the system but in my experience, it's a bulky, very awkward, even often times irrational system as to functionality.
Ditto.
You're right, I just tried a post that wrote, "Testing: m A (then a t) (then an m) and it landed in "awaiting moderation". And that was ALL the post said, "testing: (that word spelled with a Capital A and the rest spelled correctly).
Very odd, how is it that that's an offensive word? Truly strange.
Michelle Obama said that she had to have her mother (the MotherinLaw to Barack) at the White House "for continuity" for the two daughters. THEN it was announced that they had to actually reserve future appointments with the MotherInLaw for purposes of, so Michelle said, "babysitting" because the MotherInLaw was busy jaunting around in super luxury, Kennedy Center at the Presidential Booth and such.
So again the taxpayers were/are taken advantage of by people with very bad taste who don't care about the circumstances they are abusing. I'd have no problem with VISITING relatives staying in the White House, being treated there to services and such, but the MotherInLaw lives there.
And no one will ever convince me that the White House does not have a pre-existing staff of available babysitters, complete with security clearances, excellent health files and full-time paychecks whether they're used or not.
I think Michelle and Barack fear "other ideas" not of the Marxist kind getting through to their two children. Thus, they're excessive about fearing general babysitters and demanding the MotherInLaw's so-called "continuity" by her living in the White House. Doesn't sound like the MotherInLaw is too busy being "continuous" with the two children, though.
And all those "Wall Street" people (those "greedy big business" people according to the Left) are by majority who voted for Obama, Democrats. Many Democrats are present amidst all that "greed" by
"Wall Street." The Left just wants everyone to believe that being involved in "money" is something only Republicans do. Wall Streeet is predominantly Democrat versus the private investor who tend to be majority Republican, at least not Leftwing.
I think EVERYone knows by now that the Obamas' definition of "entertainment" is having people SEE THEM. They make APPEARANCES as public and as excessive as possible for self-promotional purposes.
If what Barack actually wanted was a romantic date night with his wife, and the wife with her husband, they'd have gone somewhere private and romantic. Not do yet another big-do complete with planes, photogs, security and the public lining the streets that the two of them strive to generate.
The costs associated are the least of their concerns. They seem entirely focused on, concerneda about, just how many people SEE THEM being celebrity. Which also explains Michelle Obama's ghastly appearance as to dressing, it's her going, "look at me, loooook at MEEEEEE." Bad taste.
By comparison, then, George Bush and wife, Laura, going home to a private ranch utterly out of the public limelight is appreciable. They made recurring trips for purposes of privacym, to maintain normalacy in their lives and with their relations, to meet privately and more casually with other world leaders (reduces media pressure and makes for a far more enjoyable visit by others) and to generally recreate in some degree of normalacy while maintaining Presidential management issues with full technology present in Crawford. Same with the Reagans.

Aye! got a few of those in the closet already.
Dude, Republicans are lame. How did you get so uncool? From reading? Well, clearly you're not reading the right books. Try some Derrida (Keep reading until it makes sense. And no, that feeling isn't your brain shutting down. It's okay, you'll be fiiiiine…).
