Well, nobody said it would be simple. I'm impressed with your logic. It seems that the ultimate solution is to find a profitable crop that the locals could grow and the Taliban couldn't co-opt. Now it's time for our geniuses in D.C. to work on that. Which means that not much is going to change any time soon.

For years, Burt, I have prided myself on my "warped" sense of humor. I think you have chosen this route, too. I think one can take almost any situation in the world today and put either a tragic or humorous spin to it. These days, there is so much to laugh about. I also concur that a "moderate" is a lib in disguise. Even the liberals don't want to be called liberals these days, it seems. After all, they did pervert the term from one who is basically libertarian to just a shade behind Kim Jung Il. They really know what's best for us, you know. If some had their way we would all have red neckerchiefs doing morning jumping jacks together.
