Pardon the Obama Media Hypocrisy!
by Brian JenningsWhen writing my book Censorship: The Threat To Silence Talk Radio, I included one of the Obama campaign’s most hypocritical moments. After reading this, you’ll have no question why the “Teleprompter of the United States” needs one. John McCain was no challenge in the debates but Obama avoided this confrontation. An excerpt from my book which Simon & Schuster will publish May 5th:
In late August, 2008, Obama supporters unleashed their venom on Chicago’s WGN radio for allowing a critic of Barack to come on the air. The station had scheduled an interview with Stanley Kurtz, author of an article that linked Obama to 60’s radical William Ayers. (Ayers – now a professor in the College of Education at University of Illinois – was co-founder of a radical left-wing organization called the Weather Underground that was responsible for bombings of public buildings in the 60’s and 70’s, resulting in injuries to and deaths of several people.)
Obama supporters were incensed that the radio station would interview someone whom they accused of being a “hatchet man”, spreading what they considered to be lies and distortions about their chosen candidate. Their intent was clear and to the point. They wanted to intimidate WGN and force management to reverse its decision to put Kurtz on the air. They urged their supporters to send intimidating e-mails and make phone calls to WGN radio to complain; the station was deluged with calls and e-mails.
This controversy developed into a major story not only in Chicago, on Obama’s home turf, but all across the country. It was yet another frontal assault on free speech. According to my long-time friend, former WGN Program Director Bob Shomper – who now programs WLS in Chicago – the controversy developed as a result of trying to give Obama’s campaign the opportunity to come on the radio show with Kurtz. How ironic! In other words, the station offered to fairly balance the show, but Obama supporters declined that offer and continued their intimidating tactics to try to prevent the interview from being aired. Shomper said, “Instead, they e-blasted their national database to clog our call-in lines.” Rather than choosing to debate the issues, the campaign resorted to intimidation.
Footnote: Because the mainstream media endorsed and worshipped Obama, few of them will now leave the alter. For their own sake, they need him to succeed. Otherwise, they run the risk of a total credibility meltdown. Journalism is dead in America. That’s a topic for another day. Thank you.

The media (most of them) are so vested in the 'success' of Obama, they will put lies before truth, and spun reality before clarity, and career before country. Our grandchildren won't recognize democracy and freedom as we know it. And the sheep will blindly follow their messiah to the doom of the last great bastion of freedom in this world.
I listened to that radio show and it was beyond creepy. Left-wingers continually called in reading from talking points like a bunch of brain-dead zombies given their marching orders from headquarters.
I remember being horrified by the attempts to block Kurtz's free speech. Because I found it hard to believe that statist liberals would be so blatent in denial of free speech rights, I downloaded the radio show from iTunes to listen for myself. The Obama accolates clogged the phone lines … AND THEY ALL SAID THE SAME WORDS … it was as if they were reading from prepared text. It was a harrowing glimpse at 1984 and soviet group-think.
There is so much behind Obama that needs light and airing out. If he's so perfect, so right for the times, why is everyone on the left so scared and angry when someone wants to find out something?
At some time, someone is going to ask the questions, and won't accept being shouted down anymore.
It's scary when you think about where most people get their "news." John Stewart, Bill Maher, Stephen Colbert, Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews… and on and on. It's a wonder than an alternative viewpoint ever makes it through all the noise.
Otherwise, they run the risk of a total credibility meltdown. Journalism is dead in America. That’s a topic for another day. Thank you.
Footnote? Another day? I think not! It should be at the HEAD of every story the dinosaur media runs. In a few more years this era will be seen as the day the press died, along with the networks. The new media gives everyone a chance to state their views, whether they be heard or not becomes the personal choice of the populous, thus having the cream rise to the top, instead of propaganda being force to the bottom.
Unfortunately for us as American citizens, the media is supporting obama, but it is even worse than that. The media is not just supporting the man, they are supporting his agenda of socialist change. The media understands that if this change occurs only voices on the left will be heard, all others will be censored.
At one time America was proud that voices of differing views could be heard. Unfortunately obama is leading us down the road, where only one voice is heard.
The media, and journalism in particular, stopped doing their job, when they started to support a political ideology, and finally a politician.
The legal system has been intimately complicit in this journalism meltdown. Whenever Obama can't use straight-up editorial and content intimidation, he threatens legal action. The threat of civil actions was bad enough, but the bloodlust is running so high that pseudo-lawyer Obama and his gang of lefty shysters even went so far as to threaten criminal actions against the purveyors of "hate speech" (i.e., anybody who disagrees with the messiah).
I followed Stanley Kurtz's research – he did a ton of it and the MSM just ignored it. Guess there were too many facts involved!
Yeah I was more than a little appalled when I saw the news during the election of his "Truth Squads" or whatever the heck they were called, and even more appalled when I realized that they would be conveniently forgotten about almost as soon as they were reported on.
Indeed, and isn't it ironic that the only time they don't seem to favor the idea of the "Living Consitution" is when they can sanctimoniously say,"We're the only profession that was specifically talked about in the Constitution."
As a wise man said once, irony can be quite ironical. But they don't see it, most of them are following the the footsteps of a much less wise man who said, "Irony is like goldy or bronze-y but made of iron, right?"
America has been in the process of "dumbing down" for decades. The educational system teaches what to think, not how to think., while society in general teaches that image is more important than substance.
How could the events of this article NOT come ?
OMG, breaking news from the No Duh Institute: the media was in the bag for Obama? Really??
Who cares what happened during the election.
The McCain campaign ate it because it ran an awful campaign based on a lame RINO (who I voted for with my nose held closed).
Care about — and fight about — what the president and Congress (on both sides of the aisle) are doing to your lives, your families' lives, the economy, your life savings!
Do they ever have trouble making ends meet??
Actually it is Republicanism that is dead.
I don't believe that for a second. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
you people live on your own little island
man you guys never get tired of the same old stale talking points do ya
How much have you heard in the MSM about the Tea Parties, and their turn-out? Thirty ACORNs paid $8/hour to visit AIG execs' houses get more attention than thousands of people protesting multi-trillion dollar government deficits.
Look kid, I'm not going to bother reading what you wrote (why start now?) but since you're still here, I'll give you some free advice:
1. We don't care — seriously. Sure, some people will play with you, but it's all for fun. Almost no one bothers reading your posts and nobody gets upset. We're all too used to the net these days for a little turd like you to bother us. Your posts have the same effect as a 10 year old just calling us stupid.
2. It really is pathetic what you do. Think about it. If the nerd next to you just leaned over and said, "I just went on the Next Gen site and I posted that Kirk rules and they drool." What you would think of that geek. Well, that geek is you, buddy. Grow up man.
3. Girls don't bite, go meet some.
No, talking points are b.s. filler meant to end conversation. They are prepackaged dialogue which are to be inserted into conversation when you have nothing original to say or can't win the argument. Talking points are NOT argument, they are anti-argument.
I honestly believe Obama wants to be KING, not president. The USA is a FREE society, and he will never be KING in a REPUBLIC (the USA is not a democracy). I believe Obama and his people are creating problems and taking advantage of existing problems to make them worse so that the USA will fail.
Obama sees a friend as anyone who will help him in his quest to gain his crown. A strong militay would fight back if someone tried to take over the USA, so he is reducing it and demoralize it. He sees them as the enemy. He also wants to start a "Civilian National Security Force" that is as strong as the military, and funded like the military. Remember when King Obama was campaigning he promised he would start one? What did Adolf Hitler call his?
Obama has shown his contempt for leaders of our friends in other free countries, and aligning himself with leaders of dictatorships. This tells me a lot about what his intentions are.
Obama knows who HIS friends are, and they aren't people in a free society. They will not VOLUNTARILY help him to become King Obama. You align yourself with those who you respect most. Obama respects getting what he wants at any cost.
I think Obama wants the USA to fail and be taken over. Obama thinks the ones who take it over will be so thankful for his help that they will make him KING. Then he can say, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED." Now I understand why he couldn't keep from laughing during his 60 Minutes interview. He knows they are helping him become King Obama, and will be subject to HIS rule soon.
