‘Hollywood Reporter’ Ridicules Christians For Mobilizing Against Comedy Central’s Jesus Project

Here’s a snarky report from James Hibberd of the Hollywood Reporter. No doubt if this was a gay group mobilizing against a show that mocked them, or the NAACP or CAIR protecting their own protected status, Hibberd would be just as derisive and dismissive. No double standard here:
It’s not on the air yet. It’s not shot yet. There’s no pilot yet. Hell, there might not even be a script yet.
But Comedy Central developing an animated project about Jesus Christ has the biggest names in the TV watchdog business forming a Super Best Friends protest super-group to preemptively smite the show.
Brent Bozell (president, Media Research Center), Tony Perkins (president, Family Research Council), Michael Medved (talk radio host), Bill Donohue (president, Catholic League), Rabbi Daniel Lapin (American Alliance of Jews and Christians) and, of course, Tim Winter (president, Parents Television Council) are joining forces to form the Coalition Against Religious Bigotry.
That’s right — CARB.
(If only it wasn’t the Coalition of the Religious Against Bigotry because then it could be “CRAB”).

The South park clips are a small part of a larger narrative, South Park shows how truly hypocritical comedy central is, I think Parker and Stone have hi-lighted this point over and over. In the same episode where Jesus craps on Bush etc the figure of mohamet was censored. I don't consider the South park clips attacks on Christianity as much as they are points that highlight how cowardly comedy central is towards mohamadans. As far as the reporter goes, maybe we should have a talk with him about WWOCD? (What Would Oliver Cromwell Do)?
Monday: We in the entertainment industry really need to be more sensitive to the needs of religious people. Mocking the central figure of any religion is needlessly rude and hateful.
Tuesday: Christ! Can't those religious fascists take a joke?!?
See? Christians are horrible bigots when they complain about a show on TV, but Muslims who threaten murder for depicting their prophet must be "respected."
More and more, I think that the Left considers America its enemy, not "racism," or "sexism," or "religious bigotry." As you can see, they're perfectly fine with sexist theocrats who stifle free inquiry, as long as they're not white or American or Western.
Christians are historically used to being mocked…
And persecuted. And fed to the lions, as well. So, if the secular left in Hollywood wants to attack Jesus Christ- lacking, of course, the courage to maul Mohammed, or diss the Dalai Lama, or zap Zen- then have at it. It isn't like it it's not expected of them- the hatred of The Messiah (the real one, not Elephant Ears) pretty much fuels satanists everywhere.

To be fair, I don't want the show called off or anything; I just want someone in the media to point out this horrific double standard, and for this show to fail.
Oh, but you see, in the eyes of the American left America IS racism, sexism, and religious bigotry. To the extent that leftists acknowledge the same evils in Islam, they blame 'em on Israel… which makes perfect sense if you live in the oblivious, condescending bubble of a self-loathing leftist.
Cowardice seems like the logical conclusion for why Hollywood continues to bash Christians while backing down from Muslims; I think the best answer involves cowardice of two distinct types. First, as others have noted, it's easy to mock the group that's less likely to murder you. Maybe more importantly, though, Hollywood types are too wrapped up in multiculturalism – it's a small world after all, so let's belittle the most traditional American thing we can find to prove we "get it" – to even THINK of jokes about Islam… let alone try and push those jokes past their censors.
South park may poke fun at Jesus as a regular staple of the show but at least their funny about it. Ninja Jesus was awesome.
The people who suck at poking fun at religion is Comedy Central. Seems to them everything is hands off in the name of "tolerance" except christians, they suck.

Lets face it folks, the Hollywood left are cowards and they hate Christians. I do not watch Comedy? Central and I do not plan on watching it. If you disagree with what they are doing, switch the channel. It is quite simple, you know. The knobs in Hollywood respond to only one thing, money. (Well maybe two – the second is they buckle merely because the Muslims threaten to behead them if they do a hit piece on Mohhamed)
Screw Comedy Central.
I wouldn't watch a production of theirs if they did the collected works of Shakespeare, Verdi, the world's top 10 comics and photo shoots of the world's top 10 swimsuit models on alternating nights for a year.
They sold their souls, got their condos and cushy jobs. Fine. No reason for people outside the media biz to pay them any further attention. We know what they are.

PS I really hope that the creators of South Park can get out of their contract and find some new producers. They've lost viewers already and are losing more.

Let the marketplace pressure this POS out of production before it airs, although I suspect that Comedy Central will plow ahead – in an effort to defuse any residual, er – "bad blood" that the 'Soldiers of Allah' may still harbor because of South Park's "Mohammed" episodes.
If it makes the air, pressure it as heavily as the law allows. If Islam can bring enough pressure to bear that it causes a blasphemous anti-Christian reaction – turn it around on 'em.
If you want the show dropped or changed, call and/or the sponsors to complain. That will get their attention post haste.
That's true because;
Islamist: "If you ridicule Mohammed, I'll cut off your head. Infidel."
Christian: "If you ridicule Christ, I'll boycott your sponsors, then pray for your soul. Brother."
This will die on it's own. It simply doesn't lend itself to humor. Comedy Central is just talking smack to the rest of the schoolyard after getting pwned by the Muslims on South Park. They'll be all edgy and acting bad again until the Muslims complain about something else and then they will wet their pants.

It's open season on Christians. I'm not religious but these attacks on Christianity, and American patriotism are deeply disturbing.

I can see why people are mobilizing, since the project is a big middle finger to Christians, but for that exact reason I believe whatever show is rolled out will die a quiet death, so I don't think mobilization is needed.
This is safe comedy. What will the Christians do? Pray at them? Pray FOR them? Not so easy to ridicule Muslims who just might detach your head from your neck. "Artists" are known for creativity, not courage, and safe creativity at that.
Or even more unlikely, let's see them do ANYTHING funny……at all…….ever.
Comedy Central has made itself an oxymoron. Can't actually remember the last funny thing I saw on this channel. They need a new name….

I stopped watching Comedy Central ages ago because of their double standards. Gee whiz, CC, did you honestly think that Christians would just roll over and let you keep mocking them forever especially after you've taken such steps to avoid insulting Islam?
I'm not the least bit surprised. In fact, if anything, it's going to get worse. The scriptures are pretty clear that in the build up to the Second Coming, Christians will have it pretty bad. We're nowhere near that point yet, really, but we should expect things to start heading downhill even further.
This idiocy will likely fade a fast as NBC's unlamented idiocy called "The Book of Daniel."

I don't find the concept of the show offensive. The fact that Comedy Central made a big stink about trying to not offend Islam by censoring a South Park episode then the next week greenlights a show about Jesus, now makes this offensive. You can't just pick on the guys who don't threaten to blow you up. What fun is that? Weak.
I'm probably not going to be a big fan of CARB either, but everyone is entitled to have their own group.

I will admit that at one time i watched comedy central all the time, The comedians, The show 'In Living Color", etc. now i could not even tell you what channel it is on. It went the way of most tv channels today, right down the tubes. Good grief the SciFi channel , excuse me SyFy. now shows wrestling. I think i will stick to books
