NBC's Friday night series “Grimm” is a fantasy show, but for reasons I cannot fathom the program's writers chose to mine that most heinous relic of Mittel-Europa: the story of the seemingly good and kind Jew who is really a demonic creature underneath for last week's...

To day is also Norman Rockwell's Birthday
Son of a gun!
"24" this past Monday – dismal. So disappointing. We are now 1/4 of the way through the season.
I have kind of a wierd plea:
I am trying find a specific recording of the 1992 version of Jeffrey Gaines cover of Peter Gabriel's "In your eyes"
i have found newer versions, but they are not the ones I remember. this is a live version where you can hear the audience sing along.
I have tried everywhere, just to hear it. i am certainly willing to buy the song, but before shelling out 15$ for the CD single I'd like to hear it to see if it is the version I want. Amazon only has the CDs from outside sellers and no audio samples, the singers website doesn't have it. I even e-mailed him and his manager, but no one responds. I e-mailed the radio station I used to listen to. I have been banging my head against this for about 6 months.
Anone have any ideas?
The Rat Pack liked clubbing…

Joey Bishop, longest surviving (original) Rat Pack member, was truly the sanest of the pack and a true gentleman, as well. While the others succumbed to one vice or another, Joey remained detached–and intact.
Hope he's resting in peace.
Good to have "Lost" back, but it didn't come back with quite the bang it has with some seasons. Still good to see the old Locke back.

Very funny guy, and a good actor, too. Great as the ghostly grandpa in 'Betsey's Wedding' , a charming movie, with a fun ensemble cast…'tho I'm not huge fan of some of the people in it. Happy Birthday, Mr. Bishop
Not being a genuine swinger, Bishop was a Rat Packer on Sinatra's sufferance.

Except it's not Locke….
thanks, but that is a performance of the 2001 (acoustic) version. it gets complicated but the 2001 version is a new arrangement that is different from his 1992 version (non acoustic). This is the only arrangement I have been able to find. It seems he has ditched his old electric arrangement completely
That is the problem with looking for something VERY specific.
I apprecite your efforts
Joey Bishop, upon hearing of Bela Lugosi's death, said, "He'll be back".
Have you tried iTunes?
I don't know if this helps but from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Your_Eyes_(Peter_...
"Jeffrey Gaines included an acoustic live version of "In Your Eyes" as a bonus track to "Scares Me More", the second single off his 1992 self-titled Chrysalis debut album"
Going to http://www.jeffreygaines.com/, clicking on "Music" and scrolling down I found
"SCARES ME MORE SINGLE – 1992
$1.98
Two Versions of "Scares Me More" and a version of "In Your Eyes"
If you've been wondering about this for six months, spend the 2 bucks to see if this is the version you want. Or, take a stab at your local library, they may have the album it's on.
they don't have it either
I'm starting to think digital downloading is hopeless
Obama Girl dumps Obama.

To quote The Simpson's Nelson Muntz… http://nelsonlaugh.com/
She can suck it, it's brainless twits like this that put Obama in the White House in the first place.
Had to save the Nelson link though…..good stuff…..
I'm also glad that "Lost" is back, but I'm very worried it's going to end up an incoherent mess, like "The X-Files".
On the bright side, I do like watching Sawyer kick the crap out of the insufferably pompous Jack. That never gets old.
A few months back we got from the library the discs of Joey Bishop's TV comedy show. Those episodes are still wonderful! Man, do I love that guy. Happy Birthday, Joey!
I love the fact this line "You tell the truth unlike the right" is in the lyrics of her video and yet she somehow doesn't equate "broken promises" with lying. In the Hannity interview she gives Obama a "B Minus". Hannity asks how many broken promises does it take to give him an F?
In the word of Joey Bishop: "Son of a gun!"
I remember the ABC talk show that he did in the '60s in competition with Carson.
How about a patriots' convention in Las Vegas? Maybe the media would cover that since Vegas is verboten (again) by der leader.
The first thing I think of when you mention Joey Bishop was his scene as the world's calmest. most brazen adulterer in "Guide for the Married Man."
His wife comes home early and finds him in bed with a gorgeous woman. She screams, "Who is that woman?"
Wihtout working up a sweat or raising his voice, Joey says, "What woman?" He begins to make the bed, as his wife shrieks, "THAT woman?" He gets his clothes on, while shrugging and asking "Where?"
Within 60 seconds, Joey's dressed, his mistress is out the door, he's sitting in his easy chair reading the paper, and he's got his poor wife convinced she hallucinated the entire thing.
Bill Clinton must have seen that movie and taken notes. "Woman? What woman? Where?"
You know, I was thinking about going out to the desert, because I haven't been in a while. I booked my trip yesterday, right after I heard that O dissed Sin City — again.
It's not a gambling junket, it's a political statement!
God, I've got to share this Joey Bishop quip.
He was in a tiny nightclub in the late 50's in Vegas. He was still unknown – but his reputation was getting around. After he'd headlined this dinky place for a few weeks, a huge crowd of celebrities walked in one night to observe this 'new' comic. Bishop obliged them with his usual show that soon had the celebrities laughing their heads off – but the REAL laugh came unexpectedly a moment later. As flash bulbs exploded, cameras clicked madly and people gawked, Marilyn Monroe walked in – she was at the height of her beauty, glamorous, dripping in diamonds and white mink, etc. At once, everyone abandoned Joey to stare at this sensuous creature as she walked up to a table in front of the stage and took her seat.
Up on stage, Joey never once lost his cool. He simply waited patiently until the applause died down and the room went silent. Then Joey looked straight at Marilyn and in a calm voice said – 'Marilyn, I TOLD you! Wait outside in the truck!'
Joey was 'made' as a comic that night. God, I miss him.
Absolutely, Bennett. I've posted the idea at other sites, too.
Last "Doughboy" celebrates 109th bday:

But did she laugh?
I like his work. It's skillful and calming and makes me feel good. And he always had a little story or moment to tell.
Plus we didn't have to hear his voice and listen to his political observations, whatever they may have been.
Joey Bishop, friendly mid tier comic. Not great like Berman, Winters, or Newhart, but comfortable like a well worn and loved shoe. Enjoyed his tv sitcom, the kind of guy you would appreciate as a neighbor. The Rat Pack rules!
They might have been mostly Libs, but they would never have given a lawyer for a Jock Strap Jihadist!
And remember that Joey gave Regis Philbin his first national exposure. Regis was a great second-banana to Joey.
I finaly figured out that the version I'm looking for might be this guy
so i bought the downloads last week
the down load is the other two songs on the single.
I emailed the website, anf the fan club and the singers manager, but to date they have not responded.
they maight have some sort of a licensing issue or something
i will try the library idea
thanks
Some years back I visited the Veterans Cemetery with my Mom and I saw an older black gentleman who seemed slightly confused. I spoke with him and he was a 92 year old WWI Vet who was visiting the grave of his first wife. He had outlived 2 wives. He no longer drove and had taken the bus from Oakand, California all the way across the SF Bay to San Bruno Veterans Cemetary. I helped him find his wife's grave and insisted on driving him "back to Oakland". On the way to his house I peppered him with questions regarding his experiences. It was very interesting to hear him talk about the segregated Army, the Spanish Flu, French Girls, the miserable conditions. I did not want to ask him about whatever carnage he experienced. My Mom and I drove him home and I thanked him for his service. When I told him that I did my "four in the corp" he had a few funny things to say about the Marines.
